I don’t think I’ve ever seen any type of media so clearly portray how my writing changed before and after I realized I was queer like Nimona. ND Stevenson’s work is just so familiar it pains me in an absolutely incredible way.

Plenty of people point out the differences made between the comic and the movie (and loving both regardless, of course). Most of them mention how the movie has a happier ending, its portrayal of its messages has shifted slightly, and its way more obviously a queer (especially trans) metaphor. I don’t know if any other writers had this happen, but if I had to describe how my writing changed from tiny little twelve-year-old me to the current day, I’d just point in the direction of how Nimona changed from the comics to the movie. It’s alarmingly similar.

Its all just...dripping with coming to terms with ones queerness. Not just from the plot, but from its very existence as a film. Its an evolution of growing up queer. The end goal, the base message, remains the same, even if the methods getting there are different. Because what someone made when they were twelve and had no idea what they were going to turn into and what they made as an adult with so much that changed, and so much left to change, are going to have so many different methods.

How Nimona was born the way she is, how the story changes from a corrupted core with no happy ending to being about ending that corruption and coming out okay, how Ballister’s grudges and issues with Ambrosius changed, all of it is just so indicative of changes made throughout ones life where these tiny little details are tweaked into something new, but still fundamentally the same story at its heart.

Even if this is just a me thing, I didn’t realize how excited I could be at seeing so much familiarity in a film. Good lord, I need to watch this movie again.

I was thinking about Cherri and how most people think she won't want to try for redemption and won't end up in Heaven. I do think she eventually will. Even without considering Cherrisnake (though I very much am considering it because I love them), she's going to have every reason to want to go to Heaven due to the fact that her best friend is actively trying to get up there.

Cherri might have a hard time with it, but I think she'll ultimately want to follow Angel Dust wherever he ends up.

i'm thinking about nesta and ember and how that was the first time nesta experienced motherly love. ember didn't even know her long and her motherly instinct kicked in. and stood up for her when she saw the way nesta was being treated. feyre had stood up for her to rhys off page and i'm glad that was noted, but ember doing it clearly meant so much to her.

and nesta seeing how much ember loves bryce and realizing her own mother never truly loved her the way a mother should??? and how nesta and ember clearly bonded while her and randall stayed in the house of wind??? "ember really looked like she might cry now, especially as she turned back to nesta and said, “this time with you was a gift, nesta. it truly was.” with that, she pulled nesta to her in a tight embrace, and bryce could have sworn something like pain and longing crossed nesta’s expression. like she hadn’t experienced a mom-hug for a long, long time. so bryce gave the female some privacy to enjoy every second of that motherly embrace" and randall "clapped the latter (nesta) on the shoulder with fatherly affection." I'M SICK THEY BOTH BONDED WITH HER

Hi it's just to let you know that the official romanization of Revaan's name is Raverne ! Also they have romanized Baul's name to Baur !

Twst coming back at us again with the least expected romanization! thank you everybody (oh god my inbox) (no it's great, I literally asked for this and the reactions have been INCREDIBLE, thank you all!)

I do like Raverne though, I think it's got a nice fancy sound to it! (I had kinda suspected it was going to be an R instead of an L, so the fact that it's SO close to Laverne except for that is hilarious to me personally.) and Dragoneye Duke is honestly probably the best translation for his title, I wasn't envying the localizers that one. :') Baur instead of Baul I was NOT expecting, but in retrospect I think his name's supposed to be a reference to the Bauru crocodile, so that actually makes way more sense!

someone else also said Meleanor has become Maleanor, which is the REALLY weird one to me, because I was so surprised it was written as Mel instead of Mal in the first place?! oh god no I can't decide which one I like better. 😭 (I wonder if they might change it to Mal...they have made romanization changes before) (like I remember House of Distraction being corrected to House of Destruction in Playful Land) (I did check and she's still Mel for now, but I dunno, they might Mal her up and some point and save me from having to make a decision about which one to use) (HECK I CAN'T DECIDE)

Because chapter 70 of MOMU gave me the very dynamic between them that I missed so much, I just blacked out and started drawing uncontrollably lmao

Also. ALSO. I noticed a while ago that Prowl has the habit of..like…constantly frowning. So. I did a bit of research and made this graph.

In 70 chapters, Prowl frowns rougly 104 times. And the intensity of this gesture is very clearly correlated with the development of his relationship with Jazz, as you can see ahahahahah It might be wrong tho don’t take me seriously I’m not good with graphs
