So does anybody else ever think about how Loop felt the need to demonstrate that the party's deaths wouldn't have any effect on the loops. I know I do but that's besides the point. Anyway I don't think Loop actually needs to bathe, they just like to feel included.

class divide & struggle in haikyuu

haikyuu twitter has brought up the theme of class struggle in hq and it really got me thinking just how subtle and effective furudate is in portraying class divide throughout the story.

hinata is introduced riding a bike, seeing volleyball through a store TV (not his own like Hoshiumi, Ushijima, Kageyama), and years later he's still riding a bike up and down a mountain every day for an hour to get to school and practice. how the gyms in the public schools like nekoma and karasuno have stages because they're multipurpose, as opposed to the specific volleyball facilities that shiratorizawa and other private schools have. the bond that nekoma and karasuno have as being the public schools in their prefectures, being known as "scavengers", taking what they can get and fighting tooth and nail for it. THE DUMPSTER BATTLE.

Shiratorizawa Academy vs. Karasuno High. almost every other school (aoba johsai, shiratorizawa, kamomedai) having non-volleyball team-specific tracksuits and merch, while karasuno wears the generic "ics" athletic wear. star players like ushijima and hirugami having family that played pro-volleyball and got them started from a young age in professional spaces.

daichi's nightmare about the basketball team overtaking their gym and not letting them practice. kageyama noticing right away that the floors in the all-japan youth camp weren't wooden. takeda working overtime to try to get gyms reserved, practice matches organized, buses rented out. ukai still working at his grocery store his entire first year coaching karasuno (suggesting that karasuno couldn't afford to pay him enough).

karasuno having to adjust to the lights and the height of the ceiling at nationals, when all the other teams were used to it. karasuno renting out that little old inn for nationals, right next to the giant, 25-floor hotel that other teams were staying in. inarizaki intimidating their opponents with their huge student section, affording to literally transfer an entire student BAND from hyogo to tokyo.

it's the reason that there's something specifically annoying about ushijima when we first meet him, something off-putting as we see hinata and kageyama watching shiratorizawa practicing for the first time in their fancy gym at their huge school. something infuriating about hearing ushijima talk down to hinata and basically dismiss karasuno as a threat entirely. when ushijima says aoba johsai is "infertile soil", hinata thinks, if they are infertile soil, then I Am Hinata Shoyo from the Concrete. and our concrete school, despite all odds, despite lack of resources and funding and reputation, will still beat you. i don't have what you have and yet i will still make it to the top!!!!!!!

to preface this post i am anti-advertising i think we should explode the entire industry but it's sooo funny when you people make posts like "and they don't even work!!" like. sorry to be the bearer of bad news but yes they do. that's why we have to put up with so many despite everyone hating them and thinking its annoying. because they actually work really well and make a shit load of money

Something super pointless and self-indulgent I've had on the backburner for a while. I love trying to make the pieces they gave us fit together!

Al-AN and Robin would absolutely bond over learning about each other's biology. I could talk about this forever but I'll get into all of the headcanons I have for these two in another post eventually

Architect Anatomy A. Architect "Brain" - Doesn't "store" information so much as allow for easy communication with the network B. Brainstem - connects the information received to the central nervous/circulatory system C. "Heart" - Circulatory system pumps the bioluminescent fluid to other organ systems and surface veins. Each node connects to a vast vasculature network D. "Kidneys" - Organs that filter the bioluminescent "blood" and other bodily fluids, absorbing and distributing collected material E. Nerve Center - Receives raw sensory data and filters it. Filtering can be unconscious or intentional

F. "Respiratory" Tract - Intakes gases or liquids and filters out material for use. Disposes of waste on exhale. Provides cooling to internal systems

The respiratory tract functions less like a set of lungs and more akin to a computer's cooling system, with the ability to absorb material from the environment to use in other parts of the body. It also would likely help the architect's body analyze the environment it is currently exposed to on a molecular level. It is also truly unidirectional, with the intake vents near the "collarbone" and the exhaust vents on both sides of the abdomen

The architect organ cache in-game felt like it was definitely not a complete model of the internal organs, so I wanted to come up with something to fill some more space. I also just really liked the idea of Al-An being capable of something similar to breathing, without having a respiratory system in the traditional sense. Feel free to use any of this in your own headcanons if you would like :)

its what sits inside their ribcages, the core of their spirits that cannot defend themselves you cant usually see it since its too bright and their energy spreads through their entire body when they are alive

a deities last lifeline; once their cores are exposed they can survive within their, essentially dead, bodies for a while but as it is breaking apart they too will fade eventually, completely at the mercy of whoever might find them if given enough magical energy they could revive it and initiate healing (few people would be capable of giving enough magic to them for this to work, however they could keep a core alive for longer until someone who has more magic to give is found or enough people capable of giving magic are gathered; as of now this is a worldbuilding thing as it will not be used in the story, a defenseless core of a deity is no match to the grasp of the gods after all)

Spoilers! And screaming over episode one!

GUYS. Its as beautiful as ever. Im kinda overwhelmed and also really tired so my flailing will be all over the place BUT my god the perfomances and the calibre of acting in our beautiful show is so strong so measured so nuanced this cast is perfection. Cirdan I LOVE HIM seeing the grey havens and the shipbuilding was so special and I adore him already and love how Elround sought him out.

The Stranger him missing his home and his gentle ways with Nori are so touching I love him so much <3

The rift with Elrond and Galadriel is breaking my heart but they are knocking it out of the park with their emotional 'breakup' oh and I love how Gil-Galad was in it way more and his affection and even slight humour came across (one stupid review I saw said where had the humour gone uh well there is still some even though this show is about light and darkness and everything inbetween I love these characters so much and it feels so full of life)

It looks absolutely stunning as always <3 Cannot wait to gif some things like the golden tree returning when they put the rings on

SAURON. Firstly Jack was incredible at the start and Charlie is spectacular. His expressive face shows so much depth and anger and the way he would smirk after getting that warg to eat that guy (I forgot his name asdfghjk but Im glad he's gone lol)

Sam is amazing as Adar I feel absolutely he has put his whole soul into this like the rest of the cast and he is an incredibly complex character who just devours every scene he's in.

Um I just loved it guys and I wish I didn't feel so tired I didn't sleep that much because I was so excited! And Im gonna watch the first ep again today and probably have more thoughts then.

But wow seriously this is the best fantasy show ever EVER I feel back in Middle Earth the perfomances are all stellar and every shot is thought about and looks so beautiful AND BEARS MUSIC IS EVERYTHING <3

Im so excited to meet Tom, to see Durin and Disa and Arondir and to continue these stories I love so much.

I have so many lines I loved which I'll gush over in other posts but I wanted to inlcude this one from The Stranger I thought it was beautiful when he spoke about his home

Sometimes I perceive a glimmer of it nonetheless a longing for a feeling I can't remember or even name. But I know its real, just beyond the sunset.
