using this ethubs doodle to promote a new fanfic im working on :3 its called Unnatural Watching on ao3 by macnsamuel (its a supernatural 80s au that includes some watcher stuff. everyone has some sort of mutation, ie ren being a werewolf. and theres different cliques who have to come together and become friends (and perhaps lovers) to defeat monsters that want to attack them) first chapter is out right now!!

Just wanted to say your etho drawings that allude to him being a coyote caused me to read about white coyote gene mutations (^_^)b

YES !!!!!! he’s a leucistic coyote specifically, resulting in some close up sight issues

these are the photos i referenced

i love loveeeee love loved the arctic fox representation but i rlly felt like arctic foxes were wayyy way to round and tiny, chose coyote instead cause:

1) coyotes are soo so much much taller and more lean then foxes, also they have long and pointy faces very similar to my etho

2) coyotes and foxes both have very similar reputations in mythology as intelligent, trickster, mischievous guys which fits him rlly well so I wanted to keep that

and 3) i really love big eared etho but couldn’t draw it cause i was too committed to accurate animal depictions, now I can !!! people drawing him as an arctic fox with those giant ears bothered me to no end
