Reading a lot of DPxDC fics lately, heres my take on the Danny is Damian's twin AU:

Danny was injured to near death and left for dead by the League as a young boy. Ra's only wanted one heir and Danny was less bloodthirsty than Damian, so it was decided that Danny had to go.

Danny is found and taken to a hospital in Illinois, barely alive. He is saved and wakes up with basically no memories of where he was from and speaking a rare dialect of arabic that none of the cops investigating his case can identify. What words Danny does know in english are concerning so the cops figure Danny was being held by some sort of murder, death cult.

The investigation runs cold and Danny is sent to foster care once his injuries heal. He is then adopted by the fentons and moves to Amity Park. As he grows the only clear memories he has of his past is another boy his age who he felt safe with. He knows the other boy is important to him but not why. He cant even really remember his face, certainly not his name. Danny always felt shitty that he couldnt remember the other boy because if he did, then the cops would have rescued him from the murder death cult too. Instead the other boy is presumably there and getting hurt all the time like Danny was.

Danny gets his powers like normal at 14 and decides that now that he has superpowers he absolutely has to save that other boy. Sam and Tucker help him gather clues, he starts to remember a bit more. He remembers the word ahki and realizes that the other boy is his brother!! Which just really enhances Dannys need to save him from the murder death cult. Eventually Tucker finds a picture of Damian Wayne and Danny is like thats him. Thats my brother.

Wait.

Bruce Wayne is his brothers dad???

Bruce Wayne is a rich fruitloop like Vlad obviously, so he is probably a member of the murder cult. Danny has to rescue his brother from the illuminati.

Cue Sam going to a socialite dinner in gotham much to her parents delight. Getting close to Damian by talking about animal rights, slipping him some sleeping pills in his vegan food. Tucker hacking into the gala and causing a commotion. Danny lugging an unconscious Damian out of the Gala and into the GAV ( no, his parents dont know why he borrowed the car or where he is).

Damian wakes up and immediately tries to attack Danny thinking hes a clone. Danny is like woah shit no its me! Its your brother. Damian is like Danyal is dead. Danny is like obviously not. Now chill out im rescuing you from the cult.

Damian, who has been secrectly mourning his twin for years, has never heard anyone call the League of Assassins a cult. He has to reevaluate a lot of things while Danny drives the GAV out of Gotham as fast as he can. Danny explains his whole backstory and how he is sorry he didnt come to save Damian earlier, his memories were gone but he had never forgotten how important Damian was to him. Damian doesnt do emotions on a good day and is unable to handle that like a normal person.

"Father isnt part of the cult, Danyal."

"Hes a billionaire from Gotham, of course he is!"

Damian who has fought many rich people from gotham, all of whom were evil, tries to find an explanation that isnt 'our dad is batman'. Danny isnt listening to any of it, promising Damian that he will be safe from the murder cult in Amity.

Damian eventually gets out that their mother was in the cult and their father didn't know about them. Danny pulls the GAV over and looks at Damian.

"Did i just kidnap you for no reason?"

"It was a kind gesture at least Danyal."

"Fuck. I just kidnapped bruce wayne's kid in the middle of a gala, am i super villain now?"

"Not if you take me home. Father will understand Danyal."

"I dont want to go to jail!"

Damian gives Danny the address to Wayne Manor and Danny drives to Bristol.

When they walk inside Damian now has to explain the whole 'had a dead brother i never told you about' thing to a less than amused batfam.

Danny introduces himself to Bruce and says that he has an adopted family back in illinois, but that he would be happy to get to know Bruce, also sorry about the kidnapping i dont normally do that i thought you were part of the illumimati and i had to rescue my brother.

Bruce just hopes this kid is normal.

i was just scrolling through tiktok and then the thought occurred to me that everyone grew up together (minus ben and aiden) and basically never interacted until the group project. yeah, duh, that's the whole premise of their strange group at first, but it just strikes a cord to think that these kids who have become so inseparable were so close to each other this whole time without even knowing it, without even knowing that they needed each other.

because why now, after all these years, would they? after all, they were just strangers who occasionally saw each other in the hall or during class, strangers that they could never understand, right? they were just too different.

i mean, just think about how taylor says she's always noticed ashlyn since they were kids and how she was always on her own. she didnt understand how ash could be content with that, isn't it lonely?

tyler is most likely, lets face it, pretty popular. when we're introduced to him and taylor they're in this huge group of typical jocks due to tyler being on the baseball team. ashlyn and logan must've known him before due to that, seen them parading through the halls. and seeing as how neither logan nor ash like loud noises or crowds very much they probably wrote him off as a loud jock and went about their day. maybe saw how cold and angry he was with everyone but his sister and thought he must be unpleasant to be around.

as for logan, he, like ash, is pretty obviously very much a background character in everyone else's lives. most likely a loner just like ashlyn, very shy. if the rest of the gang ever noticed him it was probably nothing more than a glance. because logan at the time was nothing more than barrons stereotypical nerd that does his homework because he's scared of what will happen if he doesn't.

it just makes me ILL that these people who would grow to care so much about each other were all so close without knowing it, hell, they probably passed each other in their towns grocery store multiple times before. maybe seen tyler play in one of his games with taylor yelling above everyone else because that's her brother, saw ashlyn perform and dance, saw logan reading in the astronomy section in the library.

and yet they didn't know they'd ever learn to trust these strangers with their lives every night. that they would learn that tyler is more than just a loud, angry jock. he loves and cares about his sister, took up being basically a parent from a very young age, and doesn't truly have any friends because they are just a distraction.

that taylor is every bit as friendly as she let's others believe, but if you mess with her brother or her friends that sun can cloud over so quick.

that ashlyn likes to be alone but given the time and patience, she would love to be alone with you. that she doesn't want to, but if she's needed, she will step up and be the leader you need. sure, she isn't good at "friends" and she'll make mistakes, but she owns up to them because she tries and she cares.

and finally, logan, who at first is so shy and unsure, yet is quick-witted and brave enough to make hard choices and learn where he fits in with a group. to stand up against someone who bullied him and threatened him daily and help someone else from going down the same path he did.

AND PLEASE don't even get me started on ben and aiden.

those two have been practically alone their whole lives until they met each other. all aiden had was the dark room that reeked of molding food and people he hung around just to pass the time because he knew they weren't permanent, nothing ever was with his parents.

and ben's only friend before aiden being the music he could create before it was taken away from him, and all he had left was the broken melodies that he tried to find in every punch he threw.

they were both so, so alone and seeking something that would stay, something that would last because everything else that made them happy seemed to fall just out of reach now.

but just one move away, one final move to a small town in georgia held everything that could hurt and heal them all in one. they were all what everyone needed, even if they didn't know it and it drives me insane that if these kids hadn't been put through hell, they never would have found each other.

and they're more than willing to claw their way out together, not because they have to to survive, but because they want to so that they can live.

Part 1 - Fizzes

you’d joined smosh in summer last year, just after anthony’s return. you’d watched smosh with your brother as a kid, so getting this editing job was a dream come true. although you hadn't watched their stuff in years, you quickly adapted to the quick thinking environment.

you got the job from your roommate angela, who was a cast member. you guys are super close, so when she mentioned that they had an editing vacancy, you jumped at the opportunity to leave your job at a marketing company to go work woth her. living with angela proved useful, because after your first day, you asked her about spencer, and oh did she have stuff to tell you.

“hey hey, whats the deal with the uh, spencer guy at work?” you said to her at dinner.

“(Y/N) ITS THE FIRST DAY AND YOU ALREADY HAVE THE HOTS FOR SPENCER?? I MEAN I’D UNDERSTAND IF IT WAS SOMEONE LIKE-” she began shouting, laughing at your face as you blushed

“jelly i- please, just- okay yeah, he’s cute but i don't want to make a move, he’s basically my boss!”

“this is also true. okay so…” she begins to ramble to this spencer guy you, as you eat your spaghetti. he’s so totally your type, but would you make a move? you can't decide.

the days passed, and soon enough you’d been at smosh for a month now. angela, being angela, had one day let slip to amanda of your small crush on spencer

“(y/n)!! get your butt over here!” she beamed at you, so you obliged, because who wouldn't listen to amanda? she's 6 feet of pure love, you listen to everything she says

“a little birdie, who cant keep her mouth shut after two glasses of wine, told me that you like spencer?” she looks at you, a certain glint in her eye

“okay, maybe, JUST maybe, i have a teeny, tiny crush on him. BUT i don't think im going to make a move.” you looked into her eyes, feeling dejected, because you felt he would never like you back.

the events that ensued, you couldn't even keep up with. every day on set, amanda would rake you into a conversation she was having with spencer, or angela would ask you to go to his desk give him something off her. you weren't nescaserily complaining, but it was less than ideal, because you became a stuttering mess around him.

“hey spence, um- angela wanted me to give you this, i mean i dont know why she didnt bring it herself, its kind of lazy, she is, i mean- she isnt but she has me running around for her, but thats friendship right? i mean i’d make her do that, but not if-”

he gazes up into your eyes and gently places a hand on your arm, sending small jolts through your body.

“dude, it’s just me, relax!” he smiles at you, as you give him the mt dew kickstart angela sent you over to give him.

“tell angela thanks by the way!” he said, as you walked over to angela, who was trying not to break out into a big smirk

“oh spencer! angela is making me do things for her! oh woe is me! hold me incase i fall!” she placed the back of her palm to her forehead, dramatically falling into amanda’s arms

“hey! thats not what i sounded like! right? i didn't. right.” you said, becoming increasingly concerned if it was that obvious. courtney, erin d, and arasha walked over to you guys

“hey dudes,” courtney began “whats up with you guys?”

“oh, i bet theyre taking about how (y/n) is totally into spencer” arasha said, stifling a giggle.

you stood with your mouth slightly agape, gawking at her remark.

“is it really that obvious!?” you whined, slumping into a chair.

“i mean,” erin looked at you, as you tried folding into the air to disappear, “we’re the only ones who’ve noticed so far, but i don't think the boys have caught on! i think you're good”

“maybe minus josh,” courtney added, “i was sat with him and he asked me about why (y/n) was ‘oogling at spencer’ on that board af video. but he wont tell, he’s too nice”

a few days pass, and your crush on spencer had become slightly bigger. taking advantage of this, courtney decided to make you, angela, and spencer (the ‘golden trio’ as the fans called you) do an episode of who meme'd it.

“hello and welcome everyone to a brand spankin’ new episode of who memed it!” shayne began, earning a small round of applause from the crew.

“today, we have everyone’s favourite roommates and spencer!”

you were leant on angela’s shoulder, but perked up to smile at the camera

“hi guys!” angela grins at the camera, waving aggressively

“dude!” spencer yelled at shayne “why cant i be the favourite roommate!” he looked dejected

“spencer, we lived together and i have never slept worse, the only thing in our apartment was mt dew and granola bars!!”

you look over at him and giggle, feeling your cheeks begin to warm up

as the rounds go on, angela is on 5 points, you’re on 4, and spencer is on 8.

“okay, next meme!” shayne boasts

the next thing on screen made everyone cackle.

immediately, shayne starts giggling, and puts his fists against the wall, not being able to look at any of you. angela is crying with laughter, and even spencer is giggling. you just stare into the camera in shock.

through tears, shayne manages “oh my- all- alright who memed it, was it tommy, josh, was it courtney, or was it erin, our lovely producer”

you each place your guesses, and its revealed to be a secret shayne meme. you swear you could burn holes through him.

after wrap, you went off with angela giggling about some of the things, your mind still racing from being so close to spencer. for so long. it was cringey, yes, but you felt so exited when you were around him, you couldn't help it!

but little did anyone know, spencer was just as infatuated with you, and he was waiting for the day be mustered up the courage to ask you out

Sometimes Jake wondered if maybe he should’ve stopped after two kids. 

“LO’AK YOU FUCKER GIVE ME BACK MY COMB!” You cried out chasing your brother throughout your family home. The cheeky shit sprints around and you throw yourself in his direction causing him to fall face first into the table while a loud crack echos throughout the room. The rest of your family occupy themselves outside knowing how the two of you often butted heads but immediately stop hearing silence. 

“That’s not good.” Neteyam mumbles to Kiri who hums in ignorance continuing to help Tuk make a flower crown while your Father stands with a sigh and moves to head inside. 

“Dad it wasn’t my fault!” You immediately notice him staring at the both of you angrily as per usual and he leans forward grabbing Lo’aks chin tilting it managing to withhold a wince seeing the purple already begin to develop. 

“Lo’ak, go and see your grandmother and get patched up.” He commands and you instantly shrink hearing the roughness in his tone and Lo’ak does so without a fuss, angrily stomping out passing his other siblings and mother.

“Lo’ak!? Why do you bleed?” You hear Neteyam jab at him and know without a doubt that your twin immediately stuck his middle finger in the air. 

You go to the corner grabbing your brush angrily and sit down your arms wrapping around your legs which are pulled up to your chest whilst you continue to look out, admiring the view of rocks that had been blessed in your sight. 

Jake sighs before moving towards you and sitting down crossing his legs and staring at you with a soft sigh. 

“Babygirl, we’ve talked about you and Lo’ak fighting in the house.” You look up angrily and huff with a pout on your face. The same one you used to where whenever Jake would make you take a bath when you didnt want to when you were younger, which normally meant that he would need to make a good point to get his reasoning across. 

“Dad I don’t understand! How can you just listen to Lo’ak bully me and do nothing! You always raised me to always defend myself!” You grumble and one of Jake’s points immediately goes flying out the window. 

“Babygirl, one day your brother is gonna realise how to grow up. These experiences are going to be the reason as to what makes him a real man, and sadly they will raise you. You both are one of the same, you truly have one another. You are both different flavours of the same cookie. And one day, neither me or your mother will be here. You have to learn how to hold your own ground my love, and both you and that knucklehead of a brother of yours will be appreciative that we let you do it this way. I promise.” You don’t say anything thinking over his words and he watches you with a soft look in his eyes. He immediately grins and grabs you, throwing you into his body while he kisses all over your face and you gag trying desperately to shove his face from yours laughing and desperately trying to arch away from his hands that are now tickling at your sides. 

“Dad! Stop! I’ll pee my pants!” You cry out and he stops seeing your grin and he tucks a loose strand of hair behind your head. 

“Go talk to your brother.” He nods his head in the direction of your twin and you smile pressing a kiss to his cheek. Heading off running off you run into your mother who glares slightly at you while you duck your head and run off. She heads into her home and goes to your Father who sighs and wraps his arms around her waist digging his face in her stomach. 

“You did well ma Jake.” She praises and he grumbles pressing kisses to Neytit’s waist. 

“No more kids.” He looks at her pleadingly. She smirks knowing how he used to beg for them even after Tuk was born. 

“No more.” She states while placing a loving kiss to his forehead.

What would happen if FT!Peach and SM!Peach swapped universes for a day?

Sm!Peach in canon would constantly be challenged to a fight. With Ash trying hard to match up to Peach, he's so unprepared for how weak canon Peach is. Pauses to let her sit up and move around.

Indigo is equally surprised, between the three of them, it's no surprise that Peach is the strongest, so to meet one that doesnt even compare to Ash and Him- it's... Well it's jarring.

Peach is equally surprised since Ash and Indigo are both usually so easy on her, they're gentle and they teach her. So to have their canon counterparts be a bit more ruthless and constantly egging her on, she's not really having it.

Sm!Peach cries and both Ash and Go are not prepared for it, awkwardly giving her reassurances.

Canon Peach in SM!World on the other hand, is a fire

She's genuinely surprised that Ash and Indigo can keep up with her, she's delighted that they both put up decent fights. Even if Ash is much more overwhelming, she doesnt really take into account the wide gap between Indigo and Ash.

Peach controlling her Mega is definitely a surprise for the duo, and when she playfully taunts them -like she does for her canon brothers- she fails to recognize how much she's actually hurting the duo in front of him.

Indigo just stops fighting and pulls back and away, off to hide and she just floats down, confused. And then immediately get tackled by Ash. She HAS to knock him out because she doesnt understand why he's so mad.

Then she later realizes that theyre both pretty fucked up in a way that she was, but they didnt have the support of two happy go lucky kids to drag them out of her misery. Instead, they had an equally traumatized little sister and 2 parents that (still) didn't know how to handle said trauma on their own.

It's definitely a surrpise to her, then finding out she has nephews who are- trauma bonded but also so much happier now too.

She's not sure how to feel about King being... Well- someone who needed help. About him being someone worth saving, and it does sow doubts in her mind that she'd rather not have.

As a teen I moved to a small highschool with a proportionately tiny group of LGBT+ peers, and me missing out on the Middleschool Period of schooling for those students meant that I was like, missing a shit ton of in-group lore that I had to find out bit by bit over the years. A lot of which, in hindsight, was uuhhhh. Pretty awful?|||Like, sophomore year, "oh yeah there's this guy in the friend group named "A" who is constantly on the verge of getting recruited into alt-right spaces. You'll have to keep re-explaining to him why eugenics is bad (yes, even when it's targeting conservatives, he gets hung up on that detail) and tell him to stop sending you memes about "tr*ps," but we're afraid that if we excommunicate him from the friend group he really will go off the deep end" yikes. I guess I'll be drafted into the cause as well, just add me to the separate group chat made to shit talk him ig

Junior year, "Hey you probably didn't know this because that person "Y" isn't really a part of our main friendgroup, but can you call them by she/her pronouns and deadname them unless you're in a conversation with these 3 specific students? They're in the closet, even to their own group of friends" oh shit, yeah, of course of course.

Senior year, "Oh geez, yeah, remember when "A" was stalking "Y" in like, the 7th grade? Oh I guess you weren't here, anyways that's why "Y" isn't a part of the friend group and why they're still in the closet. Like, they came out as enby to three of us some time after leaving the friend group, and they definitely don't want "A" to know their chosen name so it's kept under wraps" jesus. What?? That's horrific, but after knowing the guy for a couple of years I'm unfortunately not surprised... I guess I understand why everyone decided to try and keep him in line from then on...?

Post graduation: ...HEY, WHY THE FUCK DID YOU ALL KEEP "A" IN THE FRIEND GROUP INSTEAD OF "Y"? TO THE POINT THAT "Y" DECIDED TO NEVER FULLY LEAVE THE CLOSET AND JOIN A GROUP OF CISHET FRIENDS UNTIL AFTER THEY LEFT FOR COLLEGE?

And anyways sometimes even when you do baby a white guy's feelings (be he a member of the LGBT community or not) all you end up doing is alienating those who he hurts and allowing him to get away with shit within your social circle under the guise of him "being confused and needing you to explain it. Yes, a tenth time over." And this is a hyperspecific personal experience but every time I see a post referencing the "well if I just hated the right way, alt right spaces called me brother :(( " guy I think about "A" and how even when we bent over backwards to make him feel like family he was still a pretty shit ass sibling to have around

im a little curious what prompted this but yeahhhhh that is very real is the thing. i didnt have much in the way of real social groups in highschool but the like nazi adj types were not people you could like coddle back into not being nazis they got pissed at you if you said they were wrong about anything i got threatened with getting beaten up a few times (i never did get my shit kicked in by them because there were not that many white nazis at a school that was mostly brown and black kids lol) as for like online social spaces, i was the tranny that had to deal with this shit with the few "friends" i had it was not good and i do not talk to any of those people anymore even the ones that were nice to me, because they very much kept around assholes who were awful

i love my dad and i know he loves me a lot. but there are just... things i cant really. match to how he is now.

prefacing with like... i understand that he had significant trouble with being a father at first, his father was in jail most of his childhood and then wasnt involved due to alcohol and drug abuse for a long time, and my dad was severely severely abused by his mother and her various boyfriends when he was growing up. i get that he had no real concept of what a good father is like.

but

when i was young he had a really stressful restaurant job and he would get really mad and yell at me and my brother over the littlest things, and he wouldnt do things around the house, he made my mom mostly do things.

one time he threw a baby gate down the stairs in front of us because he got so pissed that his garlic bread in the oven got a bit burned. we joke about it now and i laughed at the time even though i was scared.

my first memory of being alive is when i was really little, i had one of those kids craft tables and i didnt want to go to bed so i hid under it and was giggling, and he grabbed me by the leg and spanked me.

then when i was in middle and early high school i did like... horrifically bad in school, and he would try to help and every time end up screaming at me asking why i couldnt do "easy" and "basic" things.

when i came out as a lesbian around age 12 my dad was... fine with it but not accepting, just weird about it, and then that night i went out to get water and i caught him watching lesbian porn on the family computer.

then when i came out as trans around age 14-15ish, he didnt accept me and in fact completely ignored me for two weeks. then i tried to kms and he switched gears.

ever since then hes been the most completely accepting cishet man i have ever known. hes been kind. supportive. he does most of the things around the house to let my mom rest. we hang out often.

he still gets mad at me sometimes because i cant really physically do some things around the house but he now recognises that yelling or being mean just hurts me and doesnt help me do things, so hes not mean

even though i still get scared...

hes just so different from how he used to be. so, so different. i dont know how to connect who he is to who he was. or if i even should.

Little Touya’s Trauma

I see a lot of takes of Touya being the ‘selfish kid’ and honestly, i think thats very unfair thing to say because he is not like Shouto or even Shigaraki, of course because simply his trauma is different. Before i start, i would like to remind that i love Shouto a lot and Shigaraki is one of my faves but this post is gonna be about Touya.

Shouto and Touya have many similarities and even differences with trauma and all but i think the biggest difference between Touya and Shouto is simple;

One of them is eldest and other is the youngest child. This is important because Touya being the oldest and Shouto being the youngest tells a lot about their story because it changes their position and dynamic with their faimly.

The thing with most parents is their first child is their first experiment. Since most of them dont know how to deal with children or raising a kid, they messed up and instead of trying to solve the problem, they avoid the first child and try to not make the same mistake with other one. When i say ‘inexperienced parent’, i am not talking about Endeavour, really because Endeavour never intented to be parent and he always put his own ambitions above well being of his family. I am talking about Rei and even children.

The tragedy of Touya is not just him being burned to death and abandonded, its also his ‘training’ with Endeavour isnt considered as abuse by anyone, unlike Shouto who was crying. Endeavour may’ve not beat Touya but he was forcing Touya to push his limits at some point. (Most likely the reason Endeavour didnt beat Touya because Touya would obey and does anything his father said but Shouto wouldnt).

Endeavour didnt even care what would Touya want, HE decided Touya to be hero because in the end, what Touya wanted didnt matter. Touya didnt cry because he didnt know it was abnormal. Touya didnt cry because he wouldnt want to make his father disappointed. He was used as ‘tool’ but how he could know thats not how most fathers raise their sons? He already internalized the idea of his worth in his family, thats why, he wouldnt mind burning himself.

Rei and his siblings actually cared about Touya but i think i understand why he felt so unseen by them.

Rei knew that Endeavour wanted children only as successor but i think she never thought how this will end up ruin her children or how much it would hurt and ruin them. Which is why she was so protective of Shouto when it comes to training, she even would show Allmight as a good example so that he wouldnt turn out like Endeavour. Also, by focusing on Shout too much, she also (unintentionally) neglected her children. She wouldnt talk with touya about his issues, until Touya was already self destructing. She seems to understand that he is somehow struggling with issues with his father but she doesnt seem to udnerstand why Touya is so ‘obssessed’ with ‘training’ or why he wouldnt stop. Just like other members of Todoroki family.

Rei, Fuyumi, Natsuo. Rei seems surprised when Touya had mentalbreakdown. Fuyumi doesnt understand why his brother would go so far to hurt himself for the sake of ‘training’. Natsuo doesnt understand why his brother would cry and talk about this at the middle of night. Though, Natsuo changed his narrative after Touya’s death but Rei and Fuyumi saw as accident. ‘It wasnt Endeavour’s fault, it was Touya’s fault for being stubborn’. But it wasnt accident. It was Endeavour’s fault because that was the only way he gave to Touya.

Compared to this, the way they see Shouto and his ‘training’ is opposite. Fuyumi feels regret for not being able to protect his brother. Natsuo cant forget about the night Shouto’s screams when his face was burnt, he blames himself for not being able to do anything (in novel). Rei feels sorry for Shouto, seeing him as ‘the one who suffered the most’, ‘hero of the family’. Even Endeavour thinks this way. Whole family would avoid even talking about Touya, until he became a villain and made his story public. But even so, his family doesnt seem to understand. The one who needed to be isolated or changed wasnt Shouto or Touya, it was Endeavour. They all have regrets for Touya but it looks like they try to get rid of those regrets with Shouto more than Touya did because it was ‘too late’ for them to do it for Touya. Or maybe, they couldve seen Shouto as victim because of what happenned to Touya.

Curse of being first child of the family. Their thought process is even opposite with Shouto. For Touya, his father was like god like an existence, he would go far to excuse his father’s wrong actions, he did try everything for him but nothing changed and for Shouto, his father was monster but later, he saw him ‘change’. Shouto didnt love Endeavour, he didnt expect anything from him, thats why it was eaiser for him to accept him but that wont the case with Touya because Touya loved Endeavour more than anyone and it wasnt enough for Endeavour to change. I hope Shouto realized this too.

Touya does somehow understand what happenned to him and Shouto was abuse but in his mind, he internalized his abuse, that he is failure too much, he cant see himself or Shouto as victim. Even with Shigaraki, even he understand Afo’s horrible intentions, to him, ‘training a child’ is raising so he wouldnt see it as ‘that weird’ enough to do something.

Yes, Touya wasnt shown as kind as Tenko or even Shigaraki. And he is not like Bakugou either. He wasnt bully and he would repress his negative feelings towards Shouto because he knew it was wrong. Touya is a lot like Deku who would do anything, break himself over and over to prove his worth. And he was crybaby like Deku but at least, Deku had Inko and had a chance to be hero with power and well, Deku didnt have Endeavour as father. (We would learn more about Deku’s feeling worthless, if author allowed his characters to call out Bakugou and adress his bullying.)

Touya would cry easiely, he was drowning in his own feelings. His tears literally turn into fire and burn him to death and he lost his ability to cry. It would make sense for Touya to scared of his own feelings, distancing himself from everyone as trauma response. Similar to Tenko who cant hug anyone after he tried to reach out to his family but end up killing them.

But the difference between them is their father. Koutaro and Endeavour. They both had abusive fathers but Koutaro actually cared about Tenko and his family. Before the tragedy, Tenko was a lot like Shouto but even in better sitution because he wasnt isolated. Tenko had friends, he had cute dog and supportive big sister. Despite the abuse he had at home, his life was almost close to normal. Touya before his tragedy, he never had normal life. He felt distance with his family. He didnt have friends because Endeavour made him believe that Touya was living in different world from other kids. And after his death, he lived in streets, most likely never connecting with others.

Yes, Dabi is the most distant member in league but its not his fault. Members like Shigaraki and Twice show their care more than others because they know what it is like to loose someone they love to death. (Skipping Spinner and Compress but i think their family most likely cared them too). Unlike Toga and Dabi whose families are alive but abandonded anyway. At least Toga know how to fake it because she knows if she behaves well, people will be kinder to her. She wasnt raised like a soldier like Dabi and Shigaraki. She also lives for connections, unlike Dabi who always raised to believe connections are unneeded.

Basically, this boy never develop his social skills, he doesnt have manners, he is rude, he is distant but its not his fault. Its his trauma. He actually cares (in a distant but he cares). He doesnt much show his kindness as others (he showed it when he saved Twice, like hero and when he burnt Toga’s house etc) but that doesnt mean he isnt kind or he is selfish. Mercy, boy literally wants to die.

Bonus; He would also be friends with Tenko and his little group because he is just like Shouto ‘i dont need any friends’ kind of kid, well, Deku reach out to Shouto so Tenko would reach out to Touya too, just like how Shigaraki reach out to Dabi and gain his respect (and his care and loyalty, even he doesnt show it much).

What if the events of Lost But Never Found (your au with the amnesiac 2012 Leo turned battle nexus champion) happened in the same universe as Ghost In The Shell (SAINW Donnie adopting the rise kids) how would Ghost react to that?

Imagine being Ghost for a second. You and your family just managed to send the Shredder back to its Prison Dimension (or at least you hope that Big Mama would keep her word on that, but knowing her its honestly a gamble) and as you're going home, Leo suddenly runs ahead yelling that they need to hurry, they need to go help Indigo. Who the hell is Indigo?

Well when you and your family get back Leo hurries to the medbay, and you naturally follow him.

Only to see another mutant turtle wearing strange armor and wraps, badly injured, covered in so many scars, barely conscious and most importantly, holding a knife to Donnie's throat.

Well he is until he passes out from bloodloss and exhaustion.

How are you even supposed to process that?

Once he's out of the of the armor (so many more scars were hidden underneath) and bandaged up, a blood test is drawn.

And it turns out that not only is this turtle actually a mutant, but a biological match to Hamato Yoshi.

Aka Splinter.

Even worse, this kid says he's been fighting in the Battle Nexus quote "For as long as I can remember" (which for Indigo/Leo is only 4 months. He's been in this dimension for 4 months and he cant remember anything before the 4 months so... :3)

Ghost is devastated. This...this is one of his kids. One of his children was forced to fight in the Battle Nexus for so long that he doesnt remember anything from before the Nexus. (not really but thats the only conclusion you could draw based on the many MANY scars it makes sense to come to that conclusion)

How did this happen? Did Draxum make another turtle using Splinter's DNA? Or was Indigo created at the same time as the others? If so why did he get left behind? How did he end up in the Nexus and in Big Mama's clutches?

Did...did Draxum sell Indigo to Big Mama? Or just give him up? Did Big Mama have Indigo trained purely to fight in the Nexus? She's clearly not above putting loved ones in the arena, she did it to Splinter already.

Still raising a child just to make him fight to the death? Thats so unbelievably evil and cruel. Ghost thought Big Mama wouldnt stoop that low.

But the scars covering Indigo's body (some of which are several YEARS old), the pure exhaustion in his strange eyes, the pure survival instincts so deeply ingrained into this kid is all the proof you need.

Can he even be called a kid? He looks older than the kids, even older than Raph. Indigo looks like he's 18-20 at the minimum...but if he's truly been fighting in the Battle Nexus for years it would make sense for him to look much older than he actually is.

Ghost understands, god he understands, in the Battle Nexus every fight is life or death, kill or be killed. Recovering from that ordeal is beyond difficult. And Indigo has presumably been in the Battle Nexus for much loger than Ghost has.

So I can imagine that Ghost would be the most patient while trying to help Indigo adjust now that not every moment is a fight to survive. (Especially when dealing with Indigo's very murdery tendencies. If Indigo feels like you are a threat to either himself or his brothers there is a very HIGH chance you will end up dead. He became one of the top FIVE battle nexus fighters for a reason.His current body count is 301 for a reason)

But Ghost is also the most protective over the new family member. (You thought Ghost was motherhening the Rise kids wait till he starts with Indigo. If Big Mama or Draxum even look at Indigo they better pick a god and pray. Indigo is still healing and Ghost will be damned if he lets his new child suffer anymore than he already had too.)

Indigo is basically Ghost's worst fear for the Rise kids come true. A kid who lost his entire childhood fighting battles that werent his and didnt have a choice in the matter. He didnt get to be a kid.

And now Indigo has dozens of scars, physical and mental, all because of Big Mama being a selfish asshole and force her own child to become a battle nexus champion

But...things will start to make Ghost question how true his current theory is. Like for example, Indigo is physically different from the Rise kids. (Short and stocky, round three toed feet) the strange nightmares that start becoming more and more frequent as time goes on (and oddly specific too, like sinking in the ocean, helmet exploding in outer space, getting attacked by a metal monster in the winter, getting thrown through a window, decapitating a metal and bone monster) the fact that he primarily uses twin katanas as weapons, little mannerisms that keeping showing up that remind Ghost too much of Leonardo.

And the gaps in the story dont help. How old was Indigo when he first started fighting in the Battle Nexus? Who trained him before that (because it is OBVIOUS that Indigo has gotten formal training that the Battle Nexus would provide) why doesnt Indigo recognize Draxum? Why doesnt Draxum know who Indigo even is? Why does Indigo act so much like Leonardo sometimes that its uncanny?

Too many things dont add up about that story

However unlike Donnie, Ghost can understand keeping secrets (he has so, so many secrets) so he doesnt try to pry too much. But he cant help but wonder what exactly happened to Indigo

Little does Ghost know, that Indigo already has a family thats looking for their big brother...

I genuinely don't understand why people hate the new season. Spoilers to follow.

To start, the Five and Lila subplot was shit. I won't front - it existing outside of the plot made it easy for me to just act like it didnt happen. Diego and Lila and Five deserved better and it sounds like the actors knew it. But if a bad romance subplot could ruin a whole show, I'd hate a lot more things.

I'm on the fence about Klaus's plot - felt like sidelining him and was questionable. But also a natural part of Klaus's life. Lila had her kids, Allison had Claire, Diego his family, on and on. Klaus's whole life was avoiding being sober and then a huge focus on sobriety. This is his thing. All y'all loved his drugged antics and it gets messy and sad especially when facing it post rock bottom and change.

I see a lot of Ben being unimportant complaints - Ben was always auxilary and a mcguffin there to bond or split the group - Umbrella Ben was a concept, a guilt source, Klaus's conscience, Klaus's id...never a character and dead before the show ever began. Sparrow Ben was literally never part of this family and plot about the family embracing him would have been nice, but him having his own solo quest because he is alone in this world was also fine. Jennifer was a plot device - and in a comic book show about another apocalypse thats not neccessarily a bad thing - especially with a group of dynamic characters I care about on the board.

I see a lot of complaints about the lack of fun villains. What was Sy (I know who was in him but that performance was fun)? Gene and Jean? Those are classic villains that are right up there with the Swedes and the Handler. Hazel & Cha Cha are still standouts but thats not cause these guys sucked.

I see a lot of ending complaints - going from "it was all for nothing" to "it was harmful". If it was harmful for you please be safe and that's a personal decision each time - but also that's media sometimes. It wasn't an irresponisble move like The Magicians or 13 Reasons or other things that just don't consider the audiences needs in order to gain shock value and I don't think they did anything irresponsible with it.

(I am a survivor of unalive attempts, one right after magicians so I get it. And I'm a year sober re: Klaus stuff.)

But, I loved the ending. I don't think it was all for nothing. They saved thier families! They saved everyone! The whole world! Universe! Future and past! Their moms! Hundreds of people who died in their fight to save it, on either side because without the conflict caused by them they're lives were different! I wish the Flash, or Winchesters, or anyone else who keeps ruining lives and causing death and strife sometimes on an apocalypse scale or multiverse timesplit scale had, at literally any point, said "Actually we should value this over my mom/brother/self"...like the scale was apocalyptic. That has a cost. And wow they fixed more than even I hoped. The families? Nice. Hazel and his diner wife are where I got emotional - very nice touch to show everyone.

Why isn't there a kugelblitz? Either the deletion of the timelines and that energy removed the issue Golden Compass style or its a fun comic book show with time assassins and a new element called marigold.. take your pick. It's never been that deep.

The marigolds at the end were probably not thought about as much as anyone on here has. I thought it was just a fun finale goodbye, like getting a bouqet at curtain. I liked that Ben and Lila both had one.

Genuinely confused and had to write to the void and see if I'm alone or crazy. I recommend a lot of people read and watch more media for literacy and stop hoping for plots that are fanservice as they often tank good things and fanfiction and your imagination remain goated, often better, or touch grass and realize the silly fun comic book apocalypse multiverse romp may just be a lil dumb and that's okay...if you read all that I'd love feedback 🩷

And I loved so much more than this stuff! Claire being an actualized young adult and loving her uncle and mom and being a teen? Viktor getting the validation he craved. Diego getting his skills and lust for life back. The fucking cut from baby shark to "He's dying" and so many shots/editing/music choices that highlight the dark comedy this show is.

Oh my god my mom is genuinely fucking INSANE. I don't understand how I'm made of half of her genetic material

I just got off the phone with her, told her very flatly and unemotionally about my uncle and she immediately steered the conversation to my piece of shit brother. Like no regard for my uncle at all. Didn't even really offer condolences or "thanks for letting me know" or anything. She started telling me about how she ran into a friend of my brothers a week or so ago and they told her that he moved to Las Vegas with some guy a few months ago (which is all true, except it's been over a year now. I knew all of this but I don't care about him and it's none of my business and other than this phone call I don't really speak to my mother so why would I tell her that? Again, it's none of my business) and how she immediately called her mother (my grandma) and picked a fight with her because now she has the information that everyone was keeping from her. She went on for like 2 minutes about it, just ranting and raving. I just kept saying ok. At some point she said "I don't know if you knew or if you care at all" and I honestly just interrupted her and said "no I didn't know and frankly I do not care". Which, yeah the first half of that sentence is a lie but I don't care at this point. I literally just called to tell her about her sisters husband having cancer. I don't give a fuck about her or my piece of shit brother. At this point we were on the phone for 3 minutes total and I could hear her like, shaking and crying. Really bizarre.

I pivoted the conversation to "well I just wanted to let you know about [uncle] so you can handle it however you want to with telling [my teenage sister]" and she, really bitterly, said "well yeah of course I'll tell her cuz that's her family and you know I never held you kids back from interacting with your family, even if they all hate me." which first off is SUCH a fucking lie, she used to not allow my brother, myself, AND my sister go to family events when we were little.

But here's where it gets really crazy. She went on for another 30 seconds about what a great mother she was to all three of us despite her family hating her but then she stopped midsentence and said, very angrily, "who just said 'oh my god'?". And I was like, "um..... What?" And she repeated herself, she said heard somebody say oh my god while she was talking and she wanted to know who it was. Very confrontational tone in her voice. I know that tone, she's looking for a fight. But at this point I started to think that she's like actually losing it. Because I didn't say that. I didn't talk over her at all while she was speaking,with the exception of telling her I didnt know about my brother and I don't care. I made very sure to be as polite and neutral as possible the whole time, and I'm home alone....... So she is hearing things I guess. And I told her (again as politely as possible) that I don't know what she's talking about. And she was all pissed off and flustered sounding and she said "alright you know what whatever just BYE" and hung up on me.

The whole conversation lasted 4 minutes and 3 seconds but now I have that shaky, icky adrenaline/anxiety combo that I haven't felt in a very long time, and it occurred to me that that's my body's default "mom is being psycho again" response. Fuck!!!

Part 1

• While Damian and Bruce get Talia to the medbay, Babs calls the others home from patrol for a family meeting

• They all meet in the cave, everyone shocked to see Talia, and sure enough Jason's ready to lop off some heads if only they were closer

• Bruce explains, slightly pink in the face, about the altercation and admits to the secret marriage license

• I FUCKING KNEW IT Dick shrieks

• "I DID know it," Jason says, sticking out his tongue.

• Damian is pissed that he did not know it but he wanted it, so he says he knew it

• Tim is listening with wide eyes, clutching a sleeping Eira so so close against his chest and trembling slightly because, God, the league was HERE, they were going to TAKE HER AWAY and probably KILL HER or or use her against him, and...

• Steph quietly asks if she can hug him, and Tim sags in her arms

• Bruce and Babs and even Talia rush to reassure him that its ok. The records are in place now, that makes it DAMN hard for ra's to do anything, and once they... well they dont HAVE to but if they make it publicly known that Eira is TIMS the way Damian is BRUCES then Ras will well and truly be powerless

• Tim nods grimly. He knows what all the socialites will think, what the board will think, the general popualtion... he knows he's in for all the judgment and scrunity and insults that come with being a teen dad but if it keeps Eira safe then he doesn't fucking care

• He tucks her closer under his chin and she makes a sleepy itty bitty sound, tiny fingers fisting in his shirt. Her peach-fuzz hair is so so soft against his jaw. He imagines for a split second if he doesnt come out and claim her, if Ra's, if...

• He moves his hand to protect her head and dips his own head to kiss her. He wont let it happen. He cant.

• Babs clears her throat

• She explains that she had started a fake birth certificate a while back, but hadn't brought it to Tim yet because she didnt want to overwhelm him, thinking they had time. Shes got Eiras DOB, sex, height, weight, and Leslie's signature and date to say that she delivered the kid and saw her through to discharge

• She was going to have Tim physically sign it, but had to forge it instead

• Tim tells her thats fine. He can scribble right on top if they want, but she does good work.

• Babs still.looks uncomfy.

• A few others seem to realize why

• She explains softly that the reason she'd waited was because she didn't want to make him think about what to put down for Eira's mother.

• The room goes still

• Babs takes a deep breath and works through her split-second logic, eyes pleading for tim either to understand or forgive

• There was no way for her to forge something as Eira's birth mother, even if she had thought Tim would want that

• "I don't" he mutters. She doesn't deserve that. Not after she let Ra's (try to) KILL the baby she raped Tim to get

• Babs rushes, almost stumbles, through her explanation of why she didn't create a fictitious woman - how the hell to account for her and how they met, because there WOULD be questions, the possibility that Ra's could poke holes without a woman who could and would support the claim, the way it felt so degrading to Tim to make up some random rapist that would never be brought to justice or random lover who'd end up as some Unspoken Of Shame because a sympathetic human could never be produced...

• She takes a deep breath and says that if Tim had been older, she would have claimed Eira herself, be the one to take the "fall" for not having done the whole thing sooner. But Tim’s ten years her junior, she's been too publicly involved with Dick, and it would force them into a charade that would be too long and public and awkward for either of them

• Tim slowly nods and agrees, no offense babs, but he doesn't want to pretend he trysted with his big brother's girlfriend

• She nods and takes a deep breath and says that she... she forged Steph's signature for Eira's mother

• Tim's eyes widen

• Steph goes very still

• Barbara rushes to explain that she KNOWS they're not like that, but they ARE so so close, if it came to speaking up to something Ra's tried to pull, steph could and would, based on eira's looks, she COULD pass as their genetic daughter, steph already knows the whole story and wouldn't need to be brought up to speed, she already adores Eira, and Steph, she knows... she knows... she doesnt, she SWEARS she didnt choose her judt because...

• "Its ok" Steph says softly

• It... was a shock, for a minute. It still feels a bit weird, under her pounding heart. Because Steph already has a baby. Except she gave it up. Suddenly, in the eyes of... everyone, she's a mom again, but Eira isn't her kid. She didnt carry her, birth her, nurse her. Steph was not a person you trusted to be a mother

• At fifteen, she reminds herself. She's 18 now. She's 18, and her one act as a mother WAS to ensure her child went to a good, loving, stable home, the one she couldn't have provided.

• But now... she still doesn't have her act together, but this baby's dad is THERE. He's also got a huge family thats *there* and a house. Money for anything Eira needs. Steph... Steph isn't goingnto be tryijg to do it alone.

• And she and Tim aren't together, she doesn't know if they will again or wont but still, they've been best friends for years, they've gotten through their fights, and she KNOWS him. She loves him, and she loves Eira. And maybe that's enough. Just that she loves them and they love her, and *need* her too. Besides, Babs already signed her name

• Steph finds a smile, and hugs Tim and Eira a little tighter. His eyes are wide and worried, looking at her

• "Hey, I'll claim your lil cutie any day," she says

• Tim feels something unwind in his chest. He doesn't think he'd have ever asked but... but Steph feels right. He almost wishes it could be the way they're going to say it was. He can't summon a picture of mom and dad kind of love without wanting to throw up, but. He and Steph aren't and don't have to be that. She's the best friend hes ever had and... and best friends can raise a kid together

• Because he knows Steph will commit. If they're saying Tim is Eira's dad and Steph is Eira's mom... they used to talk about how their parents had done things, how they refused to follow those examples. But he and Steph have been a team for a long time. They can be a team in this. They're a good team.

• "She has your eyes," he jokes, rather weakly, but when their eyes meet, he knows they're both agreeing. They both look at babs and nod

• She looks incredibly relieved, even as she assures them both that she would have asked if she had ANY more time, and shes sorry she didn't

• But its ok. Tim looks around at his family. His dad, looking both sad and proud. His... stepmom? That'll take some getting used to, but Talia isn't Ras or Maat. Shes Damian and Jasons mom. She looks very mom like right now.

• His brothers, soft and only a little pained, Dick blinking very hard, Jason still looking understandably murderous, and Damian dazed as he holds Talia's hand

• His sisters, Babs relaxing and giving him a hesitant smile, Cass bouncing a little with what may either be rage or happiness, her face is too even to tell.

• His daughter, sleeping safe and sound against his heartbeat, untouched by the trauma that surrounds her

• His... His partner. Steady and warm at his side, determined and brave in this as she is in everything she cares about

• And for the first time, Tim really thinks it all might be ok.

where to even begin. she was the first of her parent's eventual "failures", while being graced w gen love n kindness at first from them they quickly grew "tired" of her n she could never understand why. one day they were indulging her whims, pinching her cheeks n letting her come everywhere w them, n the next she was tugging at her mother's skirt hem n her fathers hand asking to be picked up n they only tiredly looked at her this time n told her to "stop being fussy" n that was that. when she heard they were having another kid it felt like she was being "replaced" n her chest hurt so bad and her eyes welled up n she ended up running to her room n slamming the door n crying into her pillow bc she just wanted her parents back n knew that now she'd really never get to have them again. when her baby brother was finally born tho, her mother made her hold him n at first bella only frowned sullenly down at him bc really- this is what they were replacing her with? but something inexplicable softened inside of her against her will when he softly smacked his little fist against her chest n ended up snuggling closer to her, n she ended up walking around the house simply carrying him for a while until he fell asleep so her mom could rest. when they eventually realized there was something wrong w myer- that being his near inability to see pretty much anything- suddenly he wasnt their cute kid anymore he was something that was "too much work" bc of this, n so what do they do? they pawn him off on bella of course, n u can guess how well that goes over. not only have they replaced her but now they've turned her into myers sole caretaker pretty much bc theyre gone so much of the time (AT AGE 8 MIND YOU.) once, bella shut the door in myers face n told him to go away, only to open it hours later n see him sitting right outside fiddling w the carpet in the dark. she felt so guilty tht she started crying n hugged him close n said she was sorry over n over. like she really felt like he “took” her parents love at first, but now? it feels like he's simply in the same boat as her n she has no choice but to step up for him bc if not her then who else. tht doesnt mean she still didnt struggle w him, far from it in fact, but while she has these mixed emotions, she also knows that despite myer not being able to see her much, whenever he hears her voice its enough to bring him running from the opposite end of the house to her n that means something to her. AND I HAVENT EVEN GOTTEN TO KEITH N LORELEI YET THE FUCK OF IT ALLLLL. when bella once AGAIN hears tht her mom is having another kid, TWINS this time she nearly loses it because she simply doesnt understand why both her n myer arent good enough n why theyve been discarded. when keith n lorelei arrive ofc its only a matter of time bf theyre all but pushed onto bella to take care of, n shes so so tired at this point but she simply steels herself n accepts bc she wont allow them to be abandoned. keith is a sullen little brat who's too angry so much of the time but she understands bc shes like that too deep down still. lorelei nearly never sleeps n her n keith cause so much trouble tgt but shes also the one to hug bellas leg n tell her she loves her no matter if they just fought or not. n bella may feel bitter but she'll still read them the books she found at the dump at night n listen to them all n let them pull on her apron n whine when shes trying to make things n like. they annoy her so much she wishes her parents never had them she doesnt know how to live without them now she'd do anything to protect her broken little family she wouldnt know what to do if she lost any of them, n all of these feelings just explode when the draft comes n her parents abandon them all n now its officially her turn to be the head of their fam. do not even get me started on bella being the one to go to the war in place of myer either bc I will not stop SOMEBODY SEDATE MEEEEE

god it REALLY rubs me the wrong way the fact that a show i like, who has a black female protagonist, gets LESS fanwork and discussions compaired to her white male friend or his father

im not saying its the end of the world and its 99% unintentional, and i get it, the latter are 1) neglected kid who acts mean, softens when he actually has a friend and regresses back to that state and 2) said neglectful dad whos cartoonishly obbessed with money and boots and is just a random ass guy who was expanded apon and also the fact that the rest of the protags affiliates (her family, two best friends, any other relevant background character) are just, kinda boring and not focused properly on the writers

its a childrens show so its not the end of the world but seeing people excuse his actions (almost killing his caretaker and taking over the world, and kicking down his ex friend) for being "a sad neglected boy uwu" but then turning around to the protag and going "shes so evil" and "her moms a therapist she shouldve known how to handle this" (when her mom has been canonically stated to not fully understand how kids work) for just laughing and light heartibly and AGREEING with him that he deserved it, like the finale definatly had its critisms but oh my god you are going to make me scream, she doesnt owe him anything ESPECIALLY since they both

theyre 100% intended as a duo so im not shocked when i go into the toy store and there are indeed toys, but out of the 280 ao3 tags with the protag, theres LESS THEN TWENTY when filtered without said character! and thats so crazy! cuz she has a decent amount of info! why r u guys so scared to expand apon her w headcanons like you do with the neglectful father! you litterly cant think of anything on her own? genuially? shes so close with her brother? how about her friends? her own counterpart that died? hell she was supposed to have another caretaker that didnt care for her, what wouldve happened if they stayed?

16. What does your OC's childhood bedroom look like?

when baby is still living in the ayuluk house, she sleeps in the bedroom that was converted from a closet back when mason was born, which did its job but wasnt anything special. once jesse and demi decided to move in together, he got really excited by the prospect of turning the spare room into baby's new bedroom. he built her a trundle bed with drawers underneath to store her toys and books and a desk while demi painted the walls light blue. there's thick blue curtains over the window to keep out bright sunlight on snow light that have graphics of kelp and coral along the bottom half and fish to make it look like the ocean floor. one corner has all her doll stuff and is padded with a rug so she can comfortably play on her knees. it's a little eclectic and theres definitely a lot of blue, but baby LOVES it. her room is her favorite place in the world.

21. If your OC could speak to their childhood self, what would they say?

man. "we're kind of weird, but that's ok. we don't have to change that part or anything. but please don't think ur wrong or not supposed to be loved. ur going to be so happy. people will like u for real and u will like urself :)"

6. Did your OC have a teacher or a mentor growing up? What was your OC's relationship with them like?

demi definitely looked up to her mom and had a lot of love for her, but it was difficult to like. fully learn from and trust her because demi Was the lightning rod for sam henry's abuse and everyone Knew it, including her mom. she was really polite to adults, but didnt really trust most of them or expect them to understand her until her eighth grade science teacher. initially, her teacher was just impressed by demi's intellect and performance in the class, but she soon realized that demi was not being nurtured quite the way she deserved to be. this was a smart, sweet kid who didnt recognize those traits in herself. she gets to know demi and invites her to read or do homework in her classroom before and after school so demi doesnt have to wait outside. she's the one who encourages demi to start volunteering at the animal shelter once demi admits that she'd like to go into a caretaking profession and likes animals more than people. it wasn't anything like Monumental, but demi really needed this kind of encouragement and just attention from an adult and it set her on her career path. they're facebook friends and demi agonizes at least once a month over whether she should send a message to her to express her gratitude or if it would be Weird.

4. What was your OC's childhood dream? Is that still their dream? If it has changed, why did it change and what's their new dream?

mason was the kind of kid who wanted to do Only Cool Shit when he grew up. like he did Not want to be a doctor or a police officer, he wanted to be a BMX racer or helicopter pilot or just like. guy who drives monster trucks for a living. his dream was basically to live to the extreme and never, ever have a boring life. now as an adult, this isnt quite his dream anymore, but he still aspires to not live a boring life. working at the docks and manning industrial fishing boats injects some excitement into his life while also providing a pretty good wage for first his family, then himself. he and his buddies will do fun, risky shit—snowboarding, axe-throwing, jumping ice floes—just for the sake of having fun. mason has a little more self-awareness now and concern for his wellbeing since he had to take on a lot of responsibility before he was even an adult and currently wants to stay at least somewhat safe to be there for his sister and her family, but he's sticking to his dream of never letting tedium and fear win.
