screen-free things to get you offline!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
#1 Reading - It doesn't have to be a new book, it could be a childhood favorite you've read a million times. It honestly doesn't even need to be a book, you can always find a way to print out the next chapter of a fanfic just to give your eyes a break.
#2 Journaling - Pick up a half filled notebook and any old pencil and pen, doesn't have to be aesthetic. You can write about anything; what you like about your favourite colour, or your favourite series, anything that gets you off the internet for a bit.
#3 Card Games - There are loads of one player card games you can learn really quickly, and they all take two packs of cards at most. I'm trying to make all of these free (or at least cheap) and where I live one pack of cards costs around £1.
#4 Wander Aimlessly - This one won't really work if you can't get a bus too anywhere walkable, but learning to dedicate an hour or two to yourself and just listen to music and watch your surroundings is honestly so fun.
#5 Look at Memory Boxes - If you have any old memory boxes you can always give yourself some time to look through them and reminisce (and maybe get rid of things from people who turned out to be not worth remembering).
#6 Doodle - You don't have to be an artist to draw a page full of mindless shapes, don't focus on making it all look nice, just let yourself loose on some scrap paper. You can also try drawing some simple 'zentangle' ideas.
Remember, being online isn't always bad but it can get you in a cycle of doom scrolling. I've found making some silly little tumblr posts and putting them in my queue makes me happy, so I don't need to stop using tumblr but I do have to make sure I don't spend hours per day on tumblr

Hobby suggestions for Atlas
Tumblr media
Already established hobbies: Rhythm games and Volleyball.
Ideas: Hobbies similar to the above ones, some linking to stars and the sky.
Tumblr media
Disclaimers: We have not played every game recommended in the games section, if there are any 'deeply problematic' ones please let me know. Remember you do not need to do or enjoy everything on this list, these are suggestions.
All suggestions are under the cut!

Hobbies similar to Rythm Games
Tumblr media
Other video games
If you like rhythm games you may also like games that involve quick time events (pressing buttons in quick succession to determine the outcome of an event). Some games like these include:
Resident Evil 4 | It's a horror game rated M and is focused around zombies. Here is a list of trigger warnings.
The Last of Us | An action/adventure game set in the apocalypse. Here is a list of trigger warnings.
Yakuza 0 | An action/adventure and 'beat them up' game about the Yakuza, it is rated mature. Here is a list of trigger warnings.
You may also enjoy more relaxing and story based games, especially ones that have a music theme. Some games include:
Shining Song Starnova | A visual novel about idols, unsure of the exact rating but it is stated to include mature themes. Unable to find a trigger warning list. It also has a business simulator sequel.
Off day | A point and click adventure novel about appreciating the small things in life. I can't find an exact trigger warning list, but the page mentions depression and swearing.

Music and related hobbies
I found that rhythm games inspired me to try out some music related hobbies! Here are some ones you can do quite easily (and for free in some cases).
Try and instrument | Before buying one that you don't know if you will stick with, you can try using a digital alternative. For example, there's many apps that allow you to play the piano for free, you could try learning a song on that you like on it.
Music producing | Again this would be an expensive hobby, so think carefully before making any purchases of music software. However you can get Ableton free for free for 30 days.
Making playlists | I don't know if this would entirely class as a hobby, but we take great joy in making playlists and sorting music for all sorts of things including: Alters, daydreams, kins, characters, ships, interests, ect. You can use most music streaming software for this, and you could even download music and sort that.
Learn music theory | This will depend on how academic you are, but there are free apps and videos that can teach you about music theory and how music is made. This doesn't mean you have to make music, but learning about it can be fun.
Learn a dance from a song you enjoy | If you play rythm games like project sekai, then there's a chance there will be a dance, or maybe an unofficial dance cover that someone else has done. This could also link into sports.
Tumblr media
Hobbies similar to Volleyball
Tumblr media
Other sports
Some sports that are listed as being similar to volleyball are:
Badmington (based on the swing)
Tennis (based on swing)
Soccer (Specifically quaterback position)
You could also learn other forms of volleyball that are different to the one you do.
Tumblr media
Health and athleticism
Building up strength and stamina may help with improving your volleyball skills, so I could also reccomend:
Going to the gym and/or exercising at home | Some exercises you can do specifically to improve are linked here, however if you don't want to do them for any reason then the gym has a lot of equipment for you to experiment on. You can also do these exercises at home incase going to the gym isn't doable for any reason.
Running, jogging or walking | You may not be able to run every day, but even a brief moment outside can help with improving your mood.
Tumblr media
Hobbies that link to the stars and sky
Tumblr media
Hobbies
Star and cloud gazing | This is a good way to relax outside (or even inside), you don't have to invest in anything. There's a few apps that can tell you about the stars you're looking at. This is also fun to do as a system and/or with friends, as your opinions will probably vary.
Learn about astronomy | This could be a very outdoor based or indoor based for you, depending on how you feel. You can read books or take trips and go outside to see the stars.
Learn about the zodiac | This may depend on how you feel about spirituality and the zodiac in general, but we find it interesting to learn about (even if we don't necessarily believe in it)

Step into a world where echoes of the past reverberate into the present, and the threads of time bind two hearts together in an unforgettable way. Morwal's enchanting prose creates a spellbinding atmosphere, leaving you yearning to unravel the mysteries of love and destiny alongside the characters.
What I particularly loved:
A love story for the ages: This novel defies the limitations of time, showcasing a love that persists through lifetimes. It's a testament to the enduring power of true connection.
Intriguing exploration of past lives: The story delves into the concept of reincarnation, posing thought-provoking questions about soulmates and the cyclical nature of existence.

A few things to consider:

22 Hobbies for Adults to Try in 2024
A comprehensive list of 22 hobbies for adults to try in 2024. From fun low-cost activities to high-effort hobby ideas.
As a kid, I always found myself head down in something creative. Whether typing up Shel Silverstein-inspired poems on my mom’s electric typewriter or recreating 90’s cartoon characters with acrylic paints, I always gravitated toward the arts. Not much has changed in my mid-30’s because I still find myself creating similar things, but I also still yearn for new hobbies to try. Hobbies are a great…

Billy and Marvel have very different fighting styles.
For one, Billy treats every fight like a street fight: nothing is off limits. The boy will bite, scratch, kick, and claw. He fights dirty, and he will throw anything he can at you. His moves are unpolished, based on pure instinct or what matters in the moment, which makes his moves unpredictable — atleast until someone finds a pattern.
But Marvel, they fight in the ancient technique of Pankration. (Pankration is an Ancient Greek fighting technique, which is a combination of wrestling and boxing. It used to be in the Olympics and apart of Ancient Greece battle technique. It has limited rules and sometimes fights resulted in death. Olympic wins were usually counted by submission or knockouts. It is also said Heracles and Theseus used this fighting method in myths) The fighting style’s devastating and outright brutal. But it gets the job done, and is very intimidating—meaning it’s the perfect fit for the Champion of Magic. But for a friendly superhero? Not really.
It’s not like Captain Marvel can win here either, it’s between fighting like a street rat with no rules or fighting like you’re still in Ancient Greece, when everyone lacked entertainment and morals. Which are both pretty bad, because the choices are:
Captain Marvel, the superhero whose never uttered a curse word in public, gotten rude or actually expressed any strong negative emotion, clawing at a supervillain like their on the verge of death and the one thing they’ll do before slipping away from the world is taking the villain with them. They’re kicking, thrashing and…biting? Biting. They are kicking, thrashing and biting using pure fight or flight instinct with sparse strikings of lightning pounding down from the sky. or
Captain Marvel, the guy whose nickname is “The Big Red Cheese” and poorly hides a grimace every time someone uses the nickname, kicking a supervillain square in the stomach, then picking them up and throwing them on their head. Once the villain’s down they’re over extending their shoulder, then the other, before putting them in a stranglehold...
Both ways are just…
wtf?
Neither are really expected and I can’t imagine which ones funnier.
