I’m contemplating on coloring and adding more details (especially on her skin) but this is what I have so far and I wanted to share with you guys <33

Ready to welcome those who have walked across the Gjöll bridge.

She is not one to be tricked,

For Her holy name is renowned through the nine worlds,

All of which know of Her power:

She cradles the souls of those who come to rest with the Gods,

And She does not discriminate the peasant from the king,

Nor the humble from the noble.

To Her we send songs of praise.

Onto Her I entrust my life.

Beside Her does the Luminous One sit.

Upon Her is a crown made of ash.

my first devotional painting for Lady Hel, done woth watercolors and chalk pastels ♡

The flowers are not really intended to represent anything, but the background is how I imagine one of many hallways of Hel's hall, Éljúðnir. I might add more details later, like detailing the flowers and giving Hel brooches and beads.

Or as I write it Kólya, also found as Kolyos, her name means "The Coverer". She's also known as Mórā or Mértis.

She's the goddess of the underworld, the dead and winter. While Yemós is the deity who rules over the underworld, Kólya is death itself. She is in charge of taking away souls to the underworld when the time of death comes. She is said to take the souls with a noose or a snare.

According to this source, she is the daughter of the goddess of night, Nókʷts, and the god of sleep, Swépnos. She is in turn the consort of the god of magic Wélnos and with him fathers the many monsters of Proto Indo-European myth, like the great monster Wṛ́tros which is slain by the thunder god Perkʷū́nos.

I spent a few months without coming in here and in the meantime Hel appeared in my life. Her presence is so strong and powerful and yet so good. It wasn't long ago that this happened, what I feel is that Loki appeared to me at a time when I needed to find the courage to make big changes in my life. But Hel is with me so I can deal with the issues within me, including grief.

This necklace is hand made with death and time in mind this piece is inspired by Greek God Thanatos and the Norse Goddess Hel. This Prayer Beads has a semi Hour Glass pendant that is timed at only a few seconds. This necklace is also inspired by the Angel of Death Azrael. This piece is made with Garnet, Onyx and Howlite and tarnish resistant wire, resistant not proof so please keep in mind when cleaning.
