every time at family events, people tell me they're sceptical about tarot and that it can't be accurate.
i never try to push my beliefs on them, they are always the ones who bring it up and i accept their opinion on it.
but every time, without fail, half of them will ask me for a reading. and of course i agree.
and every time, without fail, i absolutely crush it and they are fascinated and mind-blown.
...until the next year, when it all starts over again.

Being a Witch IS Political
Witchcraft and spirituality are inherently political. To embrace these paths without acknowledging their history and ongoing struggles is to reduce them to mere aesthetics. True witches—and spiritual practitioners—understand that the essence of these practices is rooted in resistance, justice, and transformation.
Historically, witches were the wise women and healers of their communities. They tended to the sick, midwifed births, and served as the keepers of ancient knowledge. Their craft connected them deeply to nature, the cycles of life, and the unseen forces that govern our world. These practices often placed them on the fringes of society, not because they were wrong or dangerous, but because their power defied the status quo.
These women (and men) were political figures simply by existing. They challenged patriarchal systems, capitalist greed, and authoritarian control. When they provided herbal remedies or midwifed safely outside the church's purview, they defied institutions that sought to monopolize power over life and death.
The witch trials of history were political acts, targeting those who threatened established hierarchies. Witches were scapegoated for plagues, famines, and dissent, often accused because they stood up for their communities, demanded justice, or refused to conform to societal expectations.
Even today, to identify as a witch or spiritual practitioner is to take a stand. It is to honor the marginalized, to value the Earth over profit, and to seek balance in a world obsessed with domination. It is to embrace healing, not only for ourselves but for others and the planet—a deeply political act in a culture that prioritizes profit and power over people and ecosystems.
Being a witch means advocating for what is right, even at risk to our comfort or safety. It means standing against oppression, environmental destruction, and systemic injustice. To claim this path is to reclaim the legacy of those who came before us—the wise women, healers, and rebels who walked this path at great personal cost.
If you are drawn to witchcraft, spirituality, or paganism, understand that this is more than crystals and candles. It is a call to action, a commitment to live authentically and fight for a better world. Anything less is a disservice to the courageous souls who paved the way for us.

Flaming hair and scarred lips,

The cunning one and trickster,
God of fire, chaos and change,
Breaker of Norms and Stagnation,
Both Creator and Worlddestroyer,
Born from the skyfire that strikes the birch.
Father of outsiders, rebels and monsters.

Burdens of being a Lokean
Vent post ignore me bleh
And a reach out to fellow Norse Pagans for advice
Ugh. It’s hard to practice being Pagan sometimes. Especially of the Norse variety. And most definitely especially as Lokean. Any means to get materials to practice is full of marvel content. So saturated it makes it near impossible to find what I need
Don’t get me started on how unserious people like us who practice things like Norse Paganism are treated. People treat those who practice Greek paganism more serious than us. Don’t lie, you’ve seen it
And the people who only consume marvel Norse content that try and correct you on your own religion
I just wanted to practice my beliefs in peace. I want to be able to get materials from reliable sources that have their best interest in me. Not AI money grabs. Not people selling “love spells” or just bullshit people who want easy money by taking advantage of people’s beliefs
Is there any advice on how to get reliable sellers and resources for my craft? I want to practice my belief but there’s just so little I can do. I’m a Hoosier and well. Indiana is famous for the KKK after all
Any reliable sellers? People? Just. People who take being a Lokean serious? And don’t call us devil worshippers? And just insult Mother Loki every chance they get?
I’ll never forget that time I was at a cosplay convention and the topic of religion brought up and I was told to “never trust Loki. Protect yourself. He is a liar and promises you pain and suffering-“ and just went on a rant about how wrong I was
I chose Loki because he chose me dammit!
Everyone follows their own path in life. From you believing in a god to people who don’t at all. You are deserving to practice what you feel. It’s YOUR laugh. YOUR path. Everyone has a path
Just please. Help? I want to make a proper alter and practice my beliefs
I get chaos comes with the job, but sir the winds turn eventually 😭
Sincerely yours, a baby witch that’s suffering

10 little subtle ways and things you could be doing that are witchy!
(esp if you're still in the broom closet) ❤️🦊

1. virtual and online altars
pinterest boards dedicated to your gods/goddesses; quotes and aesthetics.
tumblr dedication blogs.
social media page with your witchy alias.
discord server, a private place to organise channels and create categories for what you want, i.e., spellwork, candle magick, crystal associations, etc.
music playlists, for both manifesting and connecting with your deities, they love coming through music.
2. journal/book altars
similar to the idea of a book of shadows, this will be personal writings and thoughts for specific deities.
you can customise it and decorate it much like a physical altar! i.e., stickers, washi tapes, markers, sparkles.
custom spreads for whomever you work with, you can put prayers you've written for them, words you want to convey, and express.
3. the wooden box altar, also known as a travelling altar
a place to put all your trinkets and necessities.
if you're unable to have a physical space, having one that's portable will help you take your altar wherever you go.
you can carve/paint the box to be more personal for you, or to be ultra discreet about it you can just customise the inner part so it doesn't stick out to people you don't want knowing yet.
4. origami shapes
for manifesting, write out what you would like and fold it into a star to carry out the manifestation.
use the idea of symbolism to embed your intentions, for luck, a four leaf clover. for allowing new opportunities to find you and let go, a butterfly, to succeed in something you could make a bird; "soaring to new heights."
you could also use this time to connect with your deities, just being with them in the moment.
5. financial abundance
if you can't blow cinnamon on the first day of the new month, put a dash of it in your morning coffee or tea first thing.
use of coins in the soil of your plants welcomes in prosperity.
likewise with coins, frogs are symbolic of wealth.
a bay leaf where you keep your wallet/purse, the exchange of the money you give out you will receive back with a little extra.
6. kitchen magick/green witchery
add spices/herbs to help achieve something you want i.e.,
pancakes with vanilla and honey to bring in loving and warm energy.
adding pepper/salt/basil/rosemary to encourage protection.
for clarity and insight, chamomile tea.
to have peaceful and calm resolve, lemonade with fresh mint leaves.
7. clothing and jewellery
wearing items of clothing or jewellery in honour of your deities, i.e.
rings, bracelets, and necklaces that symbolise something of them for you.
shirts with quotes you feel resemble them; colour associations work plenty.
if you crochet or make your own items of clothing, knot magick or sewing in a symbol that means something for you can help you feel confident when wearing it.
8. self-care can be devotional
doing things that make you happy whilst doing it in honour of your deities allows them to be present in your simple joys.
writing, poetry, reading; feeling called to read something because it holds a message for you.
indulging a show or something you watched in your childhood years, deities take pleasure in watching something that means alot to you and will be grateful to share that moment.
treats and specific cravings, i.e., little upg, but loki loves sweet pastries.
taking a walk about in nature gives your deities more room to show you the beauty of the world. take them to your favourite bench, to your favourite coffee shop.
knot magick, if you crochet, make something in honour of your gods/goddesses. they will ensure it brings you comfort when you hold it.
painting your nails, you can charge your nail polish beneath the moon or mix in a little moon water to be energised and intuitively connected.
9. cleansing and clearing of old energy
water
will help the bad flow out and let the good flow in.
showers/baths are good for self-cleansing.
holding a glass of water before drinking it and wish your intentions.
crying, allowing yourself to feel what it is you're trying to process in order for it to be released. can't release something you haven't finished going through yet.
moon water, I recommend this during a new moon as that's more symbolic to starting anew, planting seeds and encouragement toward growth.
sun water, can help with energising you and bringing in positive energy, also a confidence boost.
earth
holding onto a crystal for a few moments, just breathing in and out.
crystals can be used for cleansing, smoky quartz, clear quartz. there is a crystal for all your needs.
plants! plants are great for protection and for taking in bad energy. they will listen to what you have to say, and will love you as much as you love them.
food, especially grown from the earth can help you feel refreshed and buzzing with energy.
fire
burning, writing out your hardships, struggles, anger and burning them (safely please).
lighting a candle while you work on something, very therapeutic, and you can visualise the bad energy being burnt out and released.
incense, the smoke is a natural cleanser and will do wonders. you aren't restricted to using sage to cleanse; others you could use are myrrh, sandalwood, lavender, or cedar. it's completely up to what your preferences are.
air
breathing in and out during meditation, as you take in some air and release it, upon release visualise what you're letting go of.
bells, the frequency of dinging bells helps to disperse bad energy.
sound cleansing through soft music, and intentional frequencies. you'll find alot of these up on youtube.
10. divination methods (aside from tarot/pendulums that i know of)
clouds, observing what you see and the shapes you recognise, what you need to know will be reflected in nature.
ceromancy, candle wax, burning a candle after asking for some clarity or an answer and having the wax form a shape for you to interpret.
numerology, angel numbers, and the significance of the numbers.
automatic writing, done in your personal journal, it's unconscious writing that can help channel messages you may need.
bibliomancy, randomly selecting a passage or words from a book.
capnomancy, the use of smoke from candles or incense, and reading the shapes and forms casted by the smoke
conchomancy, divination through seashells, shapes, and the type of shell.
casting a set of charms on a cloth and divinating the meaning of where they landed.

So my very artistic sister is helping me create a filming corner. I wanted to wait until I reached 100 subscribers on youtube but she was like NO, MANIFEST THAT SHIT. And fuck if she isn't turning my own advice back on me... so she is coming at the end of the month and we are creating the corner. I have STUFF to fill the corner behind me, but I am curating a few items and theres this one lady in the UK that makes these beautiful felted witches. The Woolly Witch (if you follow her) She only posts 2-4 witches per day and they sell out in like 2-3 MINUTES tops. And she’s in the UK so she posts when I’m sleeping usually. Today, I snagged one! I need to give her a name but isn’t she STUNNING?!

Disclaimer: I'm not telling you how to 'correctly' practice your religion. This post is meant to make you think about whether the way you currently practice is based on a conscious choice or an unconscious bias. You are the only person who gets to decide what you believe in and how you live your life.
I will use norse polytheism as an example in this post, but it applies to other religions as well.
Polytheistic online spaces are becoming more and more monotheistic.
We have many Gods and Goddesses. We have the Landvættir (spirits of the land), Elves and Dwarfs and many more beings in our mythology. Yet, the vast majority of people who have accounts dedicated to norse paganism, mainly post about one, rarely more than 5 of them.
Loki, Odin, Thor, Freyja, Fenrir.
Those are the top contenders.
- Why is that?
I believe it has to do with the fact that most of us grew up in a monotheistic society. Even if your family isn't religious, I'm sure you've learned about christianity/islam/judaism through the people around you. There are churches/mosques/synagogues in your town, created to honor one god.
The holidays the people celebrate are centered around one god.
Politicians, movies, friends and neighbors, they all talk about their relationship with one god.
We simply never learned how polytheism can look in practice.
Now, don't get me wrong. I'm not saying that monotheism is somehow bad or worse than polytheism. We should all live alongside and learn from each other. What I am saying is, most of us don't have any idea how to focus on all these beings at once. It seems impossible to have a relationship with all of them. How much time would you have to spend on praying and preparing offerings? How long would it take to have a conversation with each of them at least once a week?
The answer is: too long. That's why this is not what you should be doing, if you're not trying to burn yourself out.
A little effort in relevant situations is enough.
- Why should I change anything if it's working for me?
Because each God and Spirit has their place and specialty.
Would you ask your dentist to fix your broken leg? Or a cook if they can remodel your house?
They are very capable at a certain thing, and maybe your house wouldn't look awful after the remodeling, but don't you think a construction worker and an interior decorator would've done a better job?
I think it's important to let each of them do what they're best at.
- How do I do that?
A little goes a long way.
Ask Iðunn for help, if you feel like there's no life left in you.
Thank Njöðr for the warm spring breeze.
Be good to a stray cat in honor of Freyja.
Leave a handmade flower crown or a bit of fruit outside for the spirits of the land.
Give the dwarfs a coin in exchange for some help with a crafting project.
Read stories from mythology or listen to them as an audiobook. Familiarize yourself with what each of those beings stand for, what they are associated with and what they like.
You will never find a perfect balance between all of them, and it's natural to have a closer relationship with some Gods/Spirits than others. But still, it is absolutely worth getting out of your comfort zone.
That is all from me for now. Good luck and happy worshipping! <3

I just finished this gorgeous deity commission with Loki and I am obsessed! I need to do more fun god portraits
All gods are welcome, it doesn’t *have* to be Loki lol. I try to make these as special as I can as they mean so much to much. I think it is such a honor to be trusted to express the devotion and love of someone in this way

Hello and good AM/PM!
I want to touch on a subject that I have questions about, and while I am also doing my own research on the side, I am curious about everyone’s UPGs with this certain topic.
I have noticed a certain deity sort of jumping into my space, as of a few months ago, who is quickly becoming more and more prevalent in my life.
At first, I denied their advances to work with me and be a deity to worship, as I wasn’t sure if i could handle the type of power they have, and was quite intimidated.
They have been very persistent (though very kind) and it has gotten to the point where, in the beginning, they hid items from me, and I had to ask them not to. Of course, since then, they have respected the boundaries I have set, but keep checking back in, as if to say “Ok, are you ready… now?”
This being is the Norse godex (*) of Chaos, Loki.
I have been quite intimidated, like I said, and though I know he is kind, I worry about not being ready to match his energy or expectations of me.
So! Onto the question: what is your personal relationship like with Loki? What does worship look like to you? Is there anything I should be prepared for? Please comment/repost your experience or thoughts!
- Ironically as I type this, my kitten comes over rubbing on me for pets, and then got bitey.
(*) I personally refer to Loki with gender-neutral terms as well as all pronouns, since they are VERY genderfluid
