Hello and good AM/PM!
I want to touch on a subject that I have questions about, and while I am also doing my own research on the side, I am curious about everyone’s UPGs with this certain topic.
I have noticed a certain deity sort of jumping into my space, as of a few months ago, who is quickly becoming more and more prevalent in my life.
At first, I denied their advances to work with me and be a deity to worship, as I wasn’t sure if i could handle the type of power they have, and was quite intimidated.
They have been very persistent (though very kind) and it has gotten to the point where, in the beginning, they hid items from me, and I had to ask them not to. Of course, since then, they have respected the boundaries I have set, but keep checking back in, as if to say “Ok, are you ready… now?”
This being is the Norse godex (*) of Chaos, Loki.
I have been quite intimidated, like I said, and though I know he is kind, I worry about not being ready to match his energy or expectations of me.
So! Onto the question: what is your personal relationship like with Loki? What does worship look like to you? Is there anything I should be prepared for? Please comment/repost your experience or thoughts!
- Ironically as I type this, my kitten comes over rubbing on me for pets, and then got bitey.
(*) I personally refer to Loki with gender-neutral terms as well as all pronouns, since they are VERY genderfluid

So I often find that when I’m trying to learn about a new deity I get overwhelmed when I find multiple sources with conflicting information. It not only stresses me out but actually makes me kinda angry? Like I just want a straight answer and everything is either slightly different or worlds apart.
Does anyone else experience this and/or have any advice?

I think it's funny how my parents say the Devil is tempting me into being a trans girl.
Isn't the Devil supposed to lead people down the easy path? Being trans is the exact opposite of "easy".
Does the Devil just straight up have nothing better to do then to try to subtly influence me to be trans?

When, how, and why did Hera bless YRZ?
after yrz turned down aphrodite's offer to make Penelope fall in love with him. yrz doesn't really hold much importance for other people's wedding vows (like he's not gonna turn down a married man because he's married. it's not yrz breaking any vows so why would he care??? yrz will look down on the adulterer for literally forever though), but he does not hurting his people very seriously. he doesn't need Aphrodite to seduce Penelope.
yrz never would. that would only hurt penelope because she truly loves ody. so yrz will die before he puts that vow in danger, and that is what hera is interested in.
she does some magic stuff to make penelope vulnerable (maybe very sick??) and yrz not only doesn't take advantage, but he stays with her for a full week while she's utterly out of it. not only that, but yrz also cares for a terrified Telemachus like he was yrz's own child. to care so much for another man's child -- that's something even hera can't do (having zeus for a husband is... difficult.)
anyway, hera does a dream visit after the whole ordeal and it turns into a bit of a regular thing. hera gets to vent about zeus's whole deal to someone who's not gonna tell her she's supposed to be a dutiful wife. anyway she and yrz become gossip and bitching partners evetually, and hera blesses yrz with perfect health and luck and stuff.
(.....the more i think about this au, the more i think it ends with hera divorcing zeus???? like she's watching yrz do his thing and revolutionize the ability for women to be their own people, and shes gonna start going 'why the fuck can't i have this? i am literally a goddess!!!!' and once that seed is planted there's no uprooting it lol.)

Hellenic Polytheism UPG: Appearances
This is how the gods I work with/worship appear to me, divined either from dreams, meditation, or images that pop into my mind that I inexplicably associate with a deity!
Hades: switches between(?) a black cloak that covers his whole body and melts into the shadows and a black suit with dark grey pinstripes, very pale skin, very tall (taller than Persephone), long black hair, wears a three-point black/darkened silver crown with black jewels in each point
Persephone: tan, olive-toned skin, long curly brown hair, golden-brown eyes(?) a long berry colored dress (darker pinkish-red) with red flowers on the shoulders, significantly taller than a human (this is what I’m guessing is her spring outfit, I don’t know what her winter one looks like yet since it’s still summer)
Dionysus: long, curly black hair, dark skin with red undertones, fat, either wine red or black eyes, warm-toned dark purple peplos dress, ivy crown
Athena: Big barn owl wings, nose (/face?) looks like a barn owl beak (/face?), has its helm, has gray eyes, wears a long, flowing white dress with dark gold or bronze buckles/pins/belt, gold sandals(?), long brown hair
Hermes: blonde hair, classic white chiton (exomis maybe?) with gold clasps, gold winged sandles, looks closer to my height from what i can tell
Artemis: young woman, thick, flowy/wavy black hair, sparkling eyes, pale skin, maybe a silver crown/band(??) white/silvery peplos dress, barefoot (I think), human height “so the women she guards/hunts with won’t be afraid of her” (paraphrased explanation from my first meditation with her)
Apollo: long, light golden hair, tan skin, golden(?) eyes, athletic, elegant, white exomis(?), very tall, has supportive camp counselor energy
Aphrodite/Aphroditos: very soothing voice, soft, pale, peachy skin, LONG-ASS flowing dark reddish hair, naked (couldn’t pick out any specific clothes), much taller than most humans, very much seashell vibes; as Aphroditos he looks like red-haired Howl from Howl’s Moving Castle and has the same ethereal, magical pretty boy vibes

I'm aware I may well be the most insane about Cassandra of any Fantasy High fans but
Does it not bother anyone else that their name in the marriage contract was Cassandra? If Ankarna's name had to be erased in every single instance that it appeared, surely the same had to have happened for Cassandra's old form. Which would indicate to me that if the followers of Ruvina couldn't find and destroy Ankarna's name on the marriage contract, then Galicea's followers shouldn't have found Cassandra's old name there either. Which would mean that it should say the name of the Witch Goddess, not of the current Deity of Doubt. So what is implied here is that either they somehow didn't think of this while writing which I highly doubt, or Cassandra's name was always Cassandra (wild???), OR that her changing into Cassandra also turned all mentions of the Witch Goddess into mentions of Cassandra
And I don't know what to make of that

seeking out advice from those more experienced with deity worship !!!!
I started questioning my identity as an atheist sometime last summer when I was getting more into greek mythology/hellenistic paganism and the gods who stuck out to me the most were Dionysus and Apollo. throughout the months I've been, of course, learning much more about—well, Dionysus specifically. I haven't been as interested in Apollo anymore as I was before. sometime in the past few months, I've decided I'm a pagan, and that I do want to work with the gods/goddesses. I've also been so very interested and lowkey obsessed with Dionysus and the Maenads. for about a week now, I seriously cannot stop thinking about him. it's bizarre to me as, as I mentioned before, I used to be an atheist (I was one my entire life). every day I just think about him when I wake up and when I go to sleep. I couldn't imagine it being anything else other than a sign to just set up an altar already, but I'm still unsure as I do not want to work with a god before I understand them and comprehend what they are capable of if that makes sense. I've been seeking out media about Dionysus and started reading The Bacchae a few days ago. should I start working with him once I've set up an altar—even if at first small—and once I'm sure I understand him to the best of my abilities? for whatever reason, I'm (maybe foolishly) intimidated by the idea of working with a deity.

I've seen people say you can give offerings without an altar but how exactly do you do that
Hey hey hey anon!! gotta offering? i bet its good!! so, you can give offerings in alot of ways! spoken, unspoken, physical or emotional!! the gods appreciate all your attention! What ive seen is that some people burn offerings (if able), some dissolve them, and some tear them apart all in simbolic ways of giving the deity the offering in like a "im breaking this in my world to give it to you in your world!" some people give their offerings outside! some stash them in a box! some just.. leave them around the house!! remember: an alter is any space you offer to the gods, with decorations or without. that area is for them to access anything in the physical relm!! Again thanks anon for your GREAT question!! i had to think about that one /gen! still reading and have your own very special question? GREAT!! id love to answer it just go ahead and send it over!!
