Angrboda my dear..
You didn't deserve what would befall you and Loki, in every universe including this. Absolutely heartbreaking scene, though how I would imagine it going.. 💔

When the human known to us as Christ arrived in the underworld, gods and shades alike were horrified. It was always a big deal when demigods arrived in the underworld, but this one had died so brutally, a young man, not even old enough to grow a beard, tourtued to death at the will of his own divine parentage, the blood dripping from his shade's hands.
The high gods of the underworld brought him up to their tower to figure out what happened. Christ had recoiled from them at first, thinking they were Devils, but had to take Anubis's hand to ascend the tower's steps, as his legs were badly wounded. The gods of the dead looked at him with both sympathy and horror, it was the first time a he had seen a god look at him with either of those emotions.
Hades swore that this was his brother's doing, but even then it crossed a new line. The description of a god impregnating a young girl in Bethlehem fit what Hades knew of Zeus, but to harm his own son in such a way, as part of a ploy to try to gain all of Rome for him alone, had proven his brother's reign growing darker. Still, he took mercy on the young man, promising him at least three days safety in the underworld without his father trying to claim him again. Hades wondered if the poor girl knew when she held her child that he was born to suffer and die, just as the mothers of great heros knew their destiny. Hades hoped Chrsit would have a chance to stay longer, his wife would return in the fall, and he had the same kind eyes as her, she would probably like to know him.
Hel came to comfort Christ once he had a chance to rest. She helped tend his wounds, and pet his head, and for the first time christ was held by a divinity that didn't expect anything from him. And she told him stories of her father to cheer him up after meeting with such a horrible fate. And she told him that no father should ever do such a thing as what his father had done to his child, that if she had known in time she would have saved him. And she let him be comforted as a human, instead of being a lord of all humanity. And for a momment he didn't have to be the son of god who felt alone while bleeding and dying, but the son of the carpenter Joseph who had been reminded of home when he felt the wood of the cross.
He wasn't allowed to stay, his father wanted him back, back to be the bleeding prince of a new and lonely kingdom. And the underworld wept for him, not because the underworld was deprived of Christ, but because Christ was deprived of the underworld.

Hel among the dead
take care of our ancestors

Some eerie shit went down the last couple of days leading up to today. It was also proceeded by much needed rain that felt poetic and grief-stricken. And now, it’s eerily silent across town. Been like that all day.
But I do know that me suddenly getting up and painting Hel on a huge canvas during the election was a call to do magic. Repeating one song and very specific lyrics over and over again to brush strokes was a spell. And it comforted me and allowed me to sleep for a little bit with her watching over me. She even sent me some prosperity in return today.
I’m being called to bring back my power. I’m listening and watching. I want to. Hel is my protector. I am her flame. If all I can do is paint, then I will. Every piece is a channeling of love and comfort. That’s what it always was meant to be.

Working on a design for a goddess of death. Needa lean more villain eventually, but working out which bits should be skelly if at all.
The markers I'm using are fun and tactile. Nice to take a break from digital work to make a mess.

"Fjölskylda Loka: borð Hel"
🇬🇧: Loki's family: Hel's table.

I wanted to include as many symbolisms and characters possible into this piece. I'm certain you can tell who is who, such as Hel's servants and family members.
This honestly looked a lot better in my head, but here we are with the tragic angst!

November 2nd is All Souls' Day and of course as a death witch/spirit worker I'm going to the cemetery.
Here's what you can do to celebrate this holiday and honor the dead:
Visit your local cemetery, and before entering, ask for permission to do so. Whether that be to a guardian (gargoyle, gates, christ, etc) or the spirits themselves.
Clean the grave of a deceased loved one or someone else's that looks like no one has visited them in a while. Trust me, they'll appreciate it, even if they don't know you.
Leave offerings to the guardian statue of the cemetery for their hospitality or to a loved one to show that you still keep them close to your heart
Put up a photo of a deceased loved one or pet on your altar or create an altar for them
Light a white candle for someone who passed (whether you knew them directly or not)
Honor the death deities you work with or that are from your pantheon (Hades, Anubis, Hel, Santa Muerte, etc)
Things to keep in mind:
Don't invite a random spirit to follow you back home, you don't know who or what can go with you.
Always protect yourself when interacting with spirits, energies, and entities. This includes when entering a graveyard/cemetery. You can do so by carrying a crystal, putting up a ward, protection shield, or creating a sigil or protection charm (ring, necklace, charm bag, etc). This must always be on you.
Be respectful to the dead!!!!! How would you feel if someone comes into your space taunting you or stepping on you? If you want to speak to them, do so kindly and calmly, hold a conversation instead of yelling, "If you're here, punch me in the face!" That's taunting and it's not nice.
Don't step on grave areas. If you accidentally do so, make sure to apologize. It's also recommended to say "excuse me" if you need to walk through a tight space where it's difficult to move forward without stepping on them.
Avoid direct pictures of grave stones. I know some people do it because "aesthetic", but I personally think it's rude. It's like shoving a camera in someone's face who didn't give consent to take a picture with you. If you want to do cool photography, you can do that without invading their space or showing their names.

I've been keeping a close eye on my offering bowls, especially Aphrodite’s, so I can remove the apple when it starts to rot. But recently, I noticed something interesting.
To check for rot, I always give each apple a gentle squeeze to see how decomposition is progressing. The other day, I picked up Aphrodite’s apple, gave it a light squeeze, and was completely baffled—it still felt fresh, ripe, and even safe to eat! (Though I put it back since I don’t feel comfortable eating offerings I give to my deities.)
Shortly after, I picked up Hel’s apple and gave it a squeeze. It was noticeably softer, showing the first signs of decay. I found it fascinating that Hel’s apple is deteriorating much faster than Aphrodite’s, even though they were from the same batch, picked from the same orchard at the same time.
I’m both baffled and undeniably ecstatic because this feels like a reassuring sign that my worship and devotion to these deities are being well-received.
Edit: I checked again today, and this continues to baffle me!
I gave Aphrodite’s apple a gentle squeeze (sounds like a euphemism, I know), and it’s still fresh and ripe!
Meanwhile, Hel’s apple is wrinkling, the skin dehydrating, and the flesh is softening.
As always, you will find more knowledge and entries in my Goddess Journal if you ever wanted to see more outside of what I just post here.

When I was praying to Hel last night she told me that sometimes you're weak in a way that's solved by practice and training, but sometimes you're weak in a way that's solved by rest and healing. I feel like I should share that with you (she said it was ok to post this).
