As he listened to her speak, the trickster noticed the ethereal and silvery qualities within her voice — something that spoke of her poise, yet held dignity and steadfastness. However, as her magic undid his trick, there was a certain warmth that gradually spread through his core. He held her gaze, subtly carrying himself a little more formally as his respect for her grew. "My sincerest apologies, Princess," came his typical silver-tongued nature, his devilishness lacing the edges of his words, "I only wished to relieve you of your... ennui."

Even so, the God didn't lose his arrogance entirely, only sparing a quick glimpse toward Theoric with a faint, mischievous smirk at the wild stare and uncertainty in the guard's expression. He knew that the gesture could have been disastrous, potentially seen as an offense against them or something that they took personally, and Norns help him if the Allfather or Thor had caught him. Yet he had acted on impulse, something rare for the God of Mischief, finding some way to garner her attention. A hint of triumph stirred in his chest when Sigyn had waved Theoric away, his focus returning to the princess before him with a flicker of puzzlement.

The gazes that fell upon them were not lost on him, acutely aware of the growing attention that was directed their way. It was an unusual sight, catching the youngest of the brothers with a partner that wasn't hanging off Thor like some sort of love-stricken tufthunter. Loki felt his pulse quicken ever so slightly as Sigyn moved in closer, proceeding with the dance; his hand found its way to her waist with a firm yet delicate touch, something almost protective. His other hand took hers as he began to lead them in the dance, moving with a sense of grace and elegance that betrayed his nobility.

Then, the princess' words parted through his thoughts like the sun through clouds, and for a moment, he was caught off guard. Was he truly afraid? He was a Prince of Asgard, a rightful King — what was there to fear? Except, perhaps he had more to lose than he realized...

The God's lips curled into a hint of a smile, his verdant gaze reflecting the warm torchlight as they moved in rhythm 'round other couples. "I would think you, of all others, would understand," he replied a bit more gently, keeping his volume low so that their conversation remained between them. His eyes flitted briefly toward Thor — and then her sister — before returning to her, a pause filling the air between them before he continued. "Being the one to seek a companion is not without its fair share of heartbreak... and within my hands... I fear that I hold the possibility of another."

She wondered, why aesir feasts where so boring. Or was it only her? She wasn't the center of attention, as always, all men flocked around her sister, the goddess of love and beauty, trying to get a glimpse from her. Her sister was decorated with flowers from her suitors, receiving gifts as the hours passed by, she watched her flirting with everyone. She rolled her eyes, the prince thor seemed just like the male version of her, going around and telling everyone about his heroic adventures. For half an hour she had to listen, faking a soft smile, to cover her thoughts of how dumb a being could be.

The brothers seemed both idiots. Just like their father, she thought with a silent giggle. Her personal guard safed her by asking her to dance. Her legs already felt sore from standing at the edge of the dance floor, so she luckily give in. Dancing helped her mind to get to rest and as she spun around, she thought her headache was gone, but as she faced her dance partner again, there it was again. "Prince.. Loki?" she whispered, almost to her self. She had sensed him. Hours ago she felt his eyes at the back of her head. His magic was something she never seen, and she could feel his magic, running in his venes. It was a talent, she never talked about. "Could you please not bother my friend?" she asked softly, using her magic, do undo his trick. Sir theoric gave her a wild stare, unsure what to do, but she gave him a wave of her hand to go.

Whatever he was up to, she decided to let it pass. It would be a big affront and.. It wasn't worth it. Not as if someone would care.

She moved in closer, proceeding the dance as she felt eyes on them. It wouldn't be Lokis first encounter if this style, she guessed. He was the trickster God after all. At least.. He wasn't boring like his brother. But an idiot for sure.

"Would you tell me why you're so afraid" she asked softly, offering him her hand to take it to proceed the dance. "Why not asking me properly? If you want to be a king you shouldn't be afraid of asking a princess to dance with you" she said. She wondered why her aunt hadn't educated her sons probably. The poor woman to marry one of odins sons.

Buddy Request: are you a Loki obsessed high fantasy lover?

I would really like to connect with fellow Loki fans who want to rant about/analyze Loki and Thor's psychology, family dynamics, Asgardian society, Jotunheim, magic/seiðr, and the Nine Realms. Ideas/thoughts that aren't canon-compliant with the MCU are more than welcome!

Let me set the scene:

For the past year and a half, I've been working on developing a longfic featuring a Thor 2011 Loki and an OC Sigyn. Honestly, I don't think that I'll get around to posting it anytime soon (there's still so much work to be done on it), but it's constantly on my mind. It's sort of a hybrid concept of the MCU, Norse Mythology, my own ideas, OCs, and magic systems. It has an epic scope with multiple arcs and characters from most of the Nine Realms. Do you like characters with wings? I got you covered. An imminent threat to the Nine Realms? Check. An in-depth analysis of Ásgarðr and Jǫtunheimr's history uncovered during Loki's identity crisis? A Jǫtunn OC? A Laufey that never wanted to lose his child? Check, check, and check.

I've found it hard to talk to people about all this because it involves a LOT of worldbuilding. Epic fantasy definitely isn't for everyone and this will not be a "light" read. Some non-fanfic stories that have inspired me along the way include the Roots of Chaos series by Samantha Shannon (The Priory of the Orange Tree and A Day of Fallen Night) and Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien. So if you like those types of stories, you might like the ideas I come up with.

If you relate to anything I've said, I also want to mention that I would love to hear about your ideas as well! If you feel trapped inside your own head and feel hesitant to "info-dump" on people, I am the person for you. And hey, maybe we can inspire each other :) Fanfiction is not about gatekeeping, and I have been unabashedly inspired by so many different takes on Loki that I've read along the way.

Loki on an outing with the kids: Has all of his children on child leashes. The kids are all going in opposite directions and getting into things. Loki is trying to stop them from causing trouble and tripping all over the tangled leashes. Other people are whispering and clucking their disapproval.

Sigyn on an outing with the kids: The children are all walking in two rows holding hands like in Madeline with Sigyn at the back. The kids ask very politely for permission to do things and thank Sigyn afterwards. Every so often they are stopped by someone who wants to comment on how sweet and polite the children are.
