Considering that Bruce canonically is doing Brucie stuff while sober because alcohol would make him less focused on being Batman in case of emergency
Him simply being incapable of truly feeling ashamed by anything would have so much potential for fanfics to explore
Like even in comics and media there are stupid situations like Bruce looking sad when he gets called out for standing in the darkest corner of the room all the time (he looked heartbroken)
Him straight up singing in justice league Action
His children would have such a field trip figuring out what would embarrass him
And honestly knowing Alfred he would have readily made Batman a bat sandwich with the crust cut of packed in a a little bat lunchbox
It terrifies the league even more when they see him blankly eating his sandwiches like it is completely fine (he appreciates the effort)
Because who ever can do something like that will probably be hunted for sports
No way Batman would let it slide
But then he does it and it’s terrifying
Then they repeatedly see him being pranked and not doing anything about it
Like his outfit getting tie dyed
Him getting attacked by rubber bats falling from the ceiling
And then toy robins in the colors of his kids appearing at his table (all dramatic)
Then he gets dosed with water and the prank war only escalates from there
Main while the rest of the league starts feeling bad about it because it starts getting close to actual bullying (especially the more humiliating ones)
Because it is mean to see someone make fun of their friends bat obsession in such aggressive ways
They also start conspiracing if Batman gets bullied in his home life
The batfam finds out and then everyone collectively decides to see what the league would do if they suspect bullying and how they would respond to such a scenario considering that many of them should be capable of helping distressed individuals
And escalate the whole situation while planning how to make it look as mean as possible without being actually mean
Batman starts to look sad whenever something happens (it’s easy when you just think about your kids dying and the feelings you felt when the press was covering his parents murder)
He also mentioned to them how his rouges and many people in Gotham dislike bats after a rubber bat gets nailed down on a table
And then the league starts to see what they can do about it
It is surprisingly little
Considering that they barely know him

This is the post about Damian Wayne being whitewashed that will probably go ignored because it dives deeper than pointing at a Damian Wayne and urging DC to draw him darker. I don’t particularly care about likes but I feel like we should emphasize whitewashing in detail and not just pointing at Damian and being like “he should be darker than this!”
What is whitewashing?
Whitewashing is deeper than the color of someones skin, it boils down to the way they act, are perceived and is portayed over all. If you take away a character’s cultural roots in any way then you are whitewashing them.
-
Let’s start with The Brave & The Bold. No one talks about this but this is a perfect example of whitewashing. In the Brave & The Bold writers took Damian Wayne and just emphasized the Wayne in his name. Damian’s culture did not fit their narrative so they entirely erased it.
Bruce Wayne married Selina Kyle and after had a baby, no, that baby was not Helena. It was Damian. Damian Wayne and only Wayne. He had no connection to Talia whatsoever. They erased Talia and the Al Ghuls entirely from Damian’s story.
This is an example of how his whitewashing goes deeper than skin. He’s now entirely white, drawn as white and lives as a white kid. They changed the way he acted, was perceived and portrayed.
Tumblr media
Then because that’s not enough. His identity was a very blatant copy of Tim Drake. He takes Tim Drake’s suit, he takes Tim Drake’s backstory and he takes Tim Drake’s iconic catchphrases, its extremely jarring. This is another example of whitewashing, taking away his personality and to fit a white character.
The Tim Drake curse.
Tumblr media
Another example of whitewashing would be the continuous attempt to make Damian Wayne more relatable by watering down his personality and making him reflect Tim Drake. Tim Drake was Robin for so long and so loved that it has a lasting effect on other characters as well. As long as Damian wears that “R” that was celebrated at its highest when the character wearing it was fair skinned then I doubt he’ll ever escape this. This is whitewashing because erasing his personality is also erasing his roots on the most basic level. In his stories, he becomes an average highschool student, pursues romances, indulges in feel good family fun, gets bullied, and wears suits and changes his hair once again to reflect Tim Drake. I don’t even have to mention how light he is.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Three Horsemen of The Pale-skinned Apocalypse.
On the left we have a portrayel of Damian Wayne with light skin and blue eyes. Not only that but in this comic, they didn’t even get his culture right… the writer must had thought he was japanese… he’s not… he’s part Arab and Chinese but genetically dominant and visually POC.
In the middle we have a Damian Wayne called “Ian.” It’s just Ian. This is an example of whitewashing because if you didn’t know; Talia named Damian after the word “Damianos” which means ‘to tame’. To erase his cultural roots in his name then you are whitewashing him. And Jonathan Kent, a visually and socially white character regardless of the immigrant-kryptonian allegory, did not get this treatment. Those characters seem to never get this treatment as we know.
On the right, we have Damian’s newest installation, the one DC twisted their comically large spoon into their Witch’s caucasian cauldron and used their magic to zap Damian with that Tim Drake curse. Damian’s eyes are green, not grey or blue and his hair is thicker than that, not straight and thin. Nor does he act like this. This is an example of whitewashing. You are changing how he acts, is perceived and portayed.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
How to avoid this?
It’s simple actually, just exercise the way he was originally portayed which sadly has never been wrote exactly right since he was first introduced but as you can see:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This Damian Al Ghul-Wayne flaunts his culture in the way he dresses and acts. This Damian Al Ghul-Wayne speaks his native languages when it’s convenient to him. This Damian Al Ghul-Wayne is connected to Talia and grew up in the league of Assassins. This Damian Al Ghul-Wayne made his own Robin suit.
He has brown skin, he has soft green eyes, and look at his monolids, his hair is also thick and his face is dinstinctly shaped as well. The easiest way is just to portay Damian as he is; An Arab-Chinese kid.
Tumblr media
For example, this artist made a conscious decision to study the way Damian Wayne looks before drawing him. Even adding distinct features like a nose bump which we never get to really see from him.
Why does whitewashing happen?
The idea that a person of colors’ features and culture are not appealing to the audience and needs to be altered to fit the norm in order to be palatable.
In fandom.
If you portray Selina Kyle as Damian’s mother then you are whitewashing him. If you change the way he acts in fanfiction because you don’t like it then you are whitewashing him. If you draw Damian Wayne lighter than what he’s supposed to be than you are whitewashing him. If you demonize the Al Ghuls and put the batboys in place of them then you are whitewashing him. If you change the meaning of Robin for him then you are whitewashing him (this does not include reverse robin AU’s for example) and if you make him do any action that’d align him with what an American kid is supposed to be doing then you are whitewashing him. But let’s say you make a AU where the point is his personality is different or his upbringing is different, this is not whitewashing, this is having fun. To have an initial subconscious mental bias when it comes to a POC character is different, entirely different.
And about other races… Damian Wayne is one of the few Arab-chinese portrayels in Media, please do not alter this, even if its to make him any other variant of POC. Damian Wayne is Damian Wayne and if that’s not interesting enough for you then use a different character that is that race. <- do not fight me on this.
We as a collective should focus on portaying Damian Wayne. It’s deeper than skin. It’s crazy because its really not that complex…
In conclusion, be mindful of why you were invited to this Damian Wayne function…

You know what I really miss? Avengers x teen!reader headcanons, there use to be so much avengers content and practically dominated tumblr🥲
It would totally make my WEEK if you would make some classic mcu avengers(before infinity war) x teen!reader x Peter Parker(romantic) headcanons just about reader having powers and what it’s like living with the avengers 💕
-possible your new 👾anon?
let’s do this 💪 and YES you’ll be my first emoji anon!! @ anyone else, feel free to claim ur emoji!!
avengers x teen!reader headcanons
The Avengers are definitely reluctant to add another teenager to the team. Having Peter is great but has been a big adjustment, as they had to train him and protect him, less they face the wrath of Aunt May.
However, you were a compelling case, with your extensive abilities. You didn’t have many other options as to where to go and you hit it off with Peter right off the bat, working very well together as a pair. So, they took you in.
Tony worked with you on designs for your suit, Natasha and Steve trained you in combat (which meant you were going on morning runs with Steve and Sam. How fun . . . Though Sam could be convinced to give you piggy back rides, and you became Clint’s personal arrow-picker-upper. If you had powers, Wanda would definitely help you manage them.
Peter was naturally in tune to science, which meant you hung around the lab with him and Bruce a lot. It became a nice time to get your homework done, as Bruce would definitely help you with that. Sometimes you acted as Bruce’s and Peter’s assistant with their experiments.
Bruce was also a very good listener and your go-to person to vent to about your life’s problems (when Peter wasn’t around).
One of the conditions to be on the team was that you didn’t lapse in schoolwork, so they were very on top of that and your grades. Tony even offered to go to parent-teacher meetings. Any one of them were ready to go to your teachers or principal if anything happened.
Natasha would routinely check in with you to make sure that you weren’t being bullied.
Pepper also became a motherly figure, as she cared very much about you and Peter. She’d offer you a Stark Industries internship.
Movie nights were chaotic, but absolutely the best. It was hard for anyone to agree, so the team had a system where they’d rotate who got to pick the meeting. Sam and Peter were also not allowed to make popcorn after many unfortunate incidents. Most of the time you fell asleep late into the night and one of the Avengers carried you to bed (they’d never admit this, but that also became an argument).
It was during a movie night when Peter realized he liked you romantically. You fell asleep during a movie, your head on his shoulder. Peter swore he never experienced something so precious before. He was adamant to keep your peace, glaring at anyone who dared to talk.
The team found your growing romance to be adorable and often teased the two of you about it. The only people who didn’t tease you were Bruce, Pepper, and Thor (because he didn’t really understand how to effectively tease).
If Flash messed with you, Peter was always on top of it. He’d always protect you.
Steve was also always making sure that you knew right from wrong. He’d give long speeches about how it wasn’t right to smoke, drink, do drugs, etc.
Then Thor gave you Asgardian alcohol once, not realizing how bad that was considering you’re both human and underage. That was a mess. Peter having to hold your hair back when you vomited and multiple Avengers escorting you to bed. Thor got an earful about it.
Clint was one of the ones who better understood you, seeing as he had experience with his own kids. He was always good at mediating and defusing the tension.
Laura also adored you, you were her favorite babysitter for the kids. Whenever they went on date night, they’d drop the kids off at the tower, and you would watch them (Peter would help when he wasn’t on patrol).
Patrolling with Peter was also very fun. More often than not he’d convince you to take a break, then swing you up on top of a roof to watch over the city and the sky.
On multiple occasions, KAREN would rat the two of you out to Tony, but he was never mad. He just wanted to know all about the “date”.
Prom was also very fun. Honestly, the whole team would want to come pick out outfits with you and Peter. They took many, many pictures on the night of. Peter also teared up when he saw you. He thought you were stunning.
Of course, you guys had a curfew, but it was alright. You and Peter had a fantastic night. All he wanted to do was dance and hold you.
You had Happy wrapped around your finger. You could really convince him to drive you anywhere you wanted to go.
You also managed to get an internship at the Sanctum Santorum, learning more about magic under Doctor Strange and Wong’s guidance. The Avengers weren’t particularly thrilled, as they were worried about you being hurt, but understood your want to explore.
You really wanted to see all the areas of being a hero. Clint taught you archery and Natasha taught you how to be a spy. You’d listen to Natasha and Clint’s spy stories for hours. Peter would have to pry you away.
Peter always insisted on having date nights and would go all out, making every date special. He’d do anything to make you happy.
And so would all the Avengers. They loved seeing you smile, it brightened up their whole world and made the team stronger.

Being in a relationship with Bruce Wayne: a journey - Nothing official, right? (Part IV)
It's a big series about an afab!reader who doesn't like Bruce Wayne and who still falls in love with him (he fells quicker and harder)
Reader's origin story // Part 1 // Part 2 // Part 3
Warnings: no proof reading, wild cat!reader, mentions of sexual activity, soft!Bruce to you, you like to gently bully Bruce.
You knew that even if you had told Bruce that you wanted nothing serious, your relationship was actually shifting to something a lot more official.
Everyone was gossiping about the fact that the rich playboy of Gotham seemed to be only spending time with one girl lately. And you were pretty certain that indeed Bruce hadn’t had any kind of romantic or sexual relationship apart from you. You hadn’t either because no one really interested you. It didn’t mean you wanted to be “his” girlfriend.
You were still worried you would lose your credibility now everyone knew Bruce was seeing you. After all, the “son of Gotham” was always followed by paparazzi and you couldn’t hide your relationship forever.
At first, you heard whispers around you; you were just another girl to fall for Bruce. But you kept writing articles about the elite of Gotham and you kept pointing things out. When something was about WE, you simply informed Bruce you were going to publish an article about his enterprises. You kept doing your work. And the man never stopped you from doing so, because he loved that about you. You were ruthless to him, and he was finding it way too attractive for his own good.
The whispers quietened down.
Bruce took advantage of the situation by freely gifting you absolutely gorgeous dresses and jewels, without having to worry about “bribing” you anymore. He was inviting you to his favourite restaurants as well.
But he was also eager to follow you to little cinemas and places you enjoyed and in which you were more at ease. You always ended up in a hotel room or at your place. You didn’t necessarily have sex, even if he often ended on his knees and in between your legs. At least until Batman was called for duty by Gordon or his kids (he made sure to finish you off before running away).
After his missions, he almost always came back to you, and you always took care of his wounds and bruises. You were his safe place. His haven.
You never asked questions about what happened. You knew who he was and it was enough for you. You also knew Gotham’s media would soon enough talk about the last adventures of Batman. He was grateful you never interrogated him because he could forget about work when he was with you.
His children, Alfred and even the Justice League noticed how his mood changed lately. Of course, he was still a grumpy bear but some of his usual anger and despair seemed to have died down. He was more relaxed and even more open to discussion. After all, when he was with you, and that you thought Bruce or Batman should have been better, you always let him know without sugarcoating it. He appreciated it even if it was quite a humbling down experience for him as well. More than once he hinted that he would love to have you working at Wayne Enterprises by his side, but you didn’t want to date someone who would also be your boss. Bruce didn’t answer back that if you were getting married one day, he could easily make you co-CEO.
After a few more weeks, Alfred told Bruce that maybe you could come over to the manor. Bruce hadn’t brought you at first because he knew you would have felt uneasy and judgemental there. And then, he wasn’t too sure he wanted you to meet his family. He had no idea how his children would react to you.
And even if he loved them, he didn’t want anything to ruin your current relationship. Especially now it was getting obvious to everyone that you weren’t a one night stand, you weren’t just a girl Bruce fancied, you weren’t just some fun for a little while. It was obvious that Bruce Wayne was falling in love. Hard.
And everyone was whispering about it behind his back, sometimes teasing even him right in front of him (but his deathly stares always made them shut up).
More importantly, everyone was curious about you.
Of course the children easily found you and followed you around to discover who you were. They hated to admit it but you did seem like the perfect match for both Bruce and Batman. You were fearless, you were intelligent and kind. You were a true detective yourself.
They learnt about your past. They felt like you could understand them too. You knew poverty, you knew violence, you grew up with bad people surrounding you, and yet you decided to be a good person. You decided to stay and to fight for Gotham, even though you could have ran away. And they loved to read your merciless articles about Bruce and Wayne Enterprises. Of course, you calmed down once you started this relationship, but gosh they found some pretty good punchlines they loved to use against their mentor.
During the day, Bruce called you and offered to eat at the manor for once. You understood it meant that your relationship was getting even more serious than you thought, which worried you a little bit. It wasn’t your fault if you were a wild cat. You asked if he was going to introduce you to his family and he laughed.
“I didn’t have time to tell them how to behave around you, so not this time, love. Just you and me.”
“To behave around me?” you asked
“I’ve never presented anyone to them before. Not officially at least.” he explained
“But you want me to meet them?” you hummed
“They ask a lot of questions about you, and they love your articles, so I’ll guess at some point we’ll have to.” Bruce replied
“Sounds good to me… I just need to get ready for meeting all of them. You really need to stop adopting children, Bruce” you teased
“Can’t promise anything” Bruce admitted and you groaned
Unfortunately, the night you were supposed to eat and sleep at the manor was a very busy night for Batman. Alfred was kind enough to start chatting with you. He finally sat down next to you as you both enjoyed some tea while waiting for Bruce. You went along quite well and Alfred went to bed that night, very grateful for whoever sent you on his master Bruce’s path. You were some fresh air in the manor.
It was late in the night when Batman, Nightwing and Red Robin went back home.
Dick and Tim absolutely wanted to greet you and they sneaked into the dinning room as Bruce was quickly showering and taking care of his wounds. Tim was observing you with interest as Dick was being his charming self.
“So you’re the girl” Dick said
“People generally call me Y/N” you replied with a raised eyebrow and Tim chuckled
“Haven’t you read what she wrote about Bruce and Wayne Enterprises, Dick? Be careful, she might kill you with her words” he teased and you laughed
“Do you still stand by what you said despite the fact you are now dating Bruce?” Dick asked with a tilt of the head
“Oh yeah, Bruce is still a rich traumatised guy with a saviour complex, who adopts too many kids each year. The Brucie persona is complete bullshit and I still roll my eyes when I hear him use that voice” you nodded
“That voice?” Tim asked
“The “I’m the good son of Gotham so let me help you” voice” you replied with a roll of your eyes “Gosh, what an actor” you added and both the boys started laughing.
They instantly liked you.
“Why are you with him then?” Dick asked and you hummed in thought
“Despite everything, it seems that Bruce is actually… likeable and interesting”
“You seem disappointed?” Tim commented
“In myself? Yes, very much. In Bruce, well I’ll give him some time” you winked
The boys laughed again but they hoped Bruce wouldn’t actually disappoint you. You were such normalcy, fun and happiness in the man’s life. They were certain you could bring a lot of joy in the family too.
They knew you cared about him a lot more than you were saying when they saw how you got up and checked on Bruce when he entered the room.
“I’m sorry I’m late… Well I guess you were doing well without me” Bruce arched an eyebrow at the four of you; Dick, Tim and Alfred were smiling.
“Oh yes, I was just speaking ill of you, hon” you teased “All good?” you asked and he nodded
“Always when you’re around” he whispered to you before kissing you.
It was the cue for everyone to leave the two of you alone. Bruce and you forgot about everyone else anyways.

I miss the feeling I had when I first joined this fandom, I knew virtually nothing so everything was correct and I loved everything, even if that stuff just isn’t true, i was like
Bruce is a bit emotionally constipated but loves his kids? Hell yeah sounds legit
dick is a silly happy flippy man who is a bit promiscuous? Love that for him
Jason is a mega feminist literature nerd who is also buff and takes care of the street kids? Perfect man honest
Tim is a nerd who never sleeps and is queer and has never known the touch of a man nor woman? Sweet
Steph is waffle obsessed goofball? Well I prefer pancakes but right on
Cass is a mute badass who loves her fam? I love her
Duke is a normal dude? Well someone has to be and he seems neat
Alfred can do no wrong? Aight, I love old perfect tea men
Damian is a little prick? So are all middle schoolers give him time
But then I had to go learn about the characters and now I have complex opinions about them, and can see the inherent racism and sexism in how they are portrayed
You know before I joined the bat fandom I did not use the exclude tag in ao3? Like tmnt and dp have some bad stuff but usually I could just scroll past.
but now I am having to avoid fics where whole ass adults are bullying and/or oversexulizing a child
Im constantly on the look out for untagged batcwst
I struggle to find fics that don’t describe dicks ass
I have been in this fandom for probably about two years now and y’all I swear
sorry for ranting, and don’t worry I love all your stuff and I know the just back click don’t leave mean comments rule
I’m just tried bc most of the stuff I thought was true turned out to be false
Mm. I do find it a little exhausting trying to navigate the lines of what's canon, what shouldn't be canon (but is due to racism/sexism/homophobia/etc.), and just having fun.
I'm also trying to cultivate the mindset of what I've seen on Tumblr about not policing other people's ships/ideas. I am highly uncomfortable with some (particularly underaged people and adults dating), but I'm also not leaving hate comments. Like you said, the backspace exists for a reason.
Idk. There's a toooon of takes/ideas about the batfam that are inherently false, but as long as they aren't racist/sexist/etc takes, I don't see the harm in them. So what if someone wants a coffee obsessed Tim? So what if Jason's kill code is very strict? As long as they don't claim it's canon, let them be
But yeah. I have a mile long exclude list for fics on AO3. I used to use it only for triggers (I can not do stockhold syndrome, my lords), but now it's got other weird ass shit I've stumbled upon (I saw a fic where the batkids were spanked as punishment??? Like I said, not gonna leave hate comments or single anyone out. Just not my cup of tea).
I also am usually not a fan of romance/sex. It's why the batfam intrigued me so much (found families usually don't have that in it). I like exploring dynamics outside of romance and thus love the batfam. They've got so much going on that romance/sex is not needed. They are such a mess without that dynamic being added (talking about the Bats getting with a third party, but, again, trying not to yuck anyone's yum).
However, I agree. There's a ton of misinformation within fandom. I like how complex canon gets with the characters, but there's also widely different takes with them (mostly talking about Bruce here. He can either be trying or just a straight up horrible dad).

Okay wait random dp x dc thought as I'm getting ready to go out for the day-
Danny was raised by Jazz, even if she's gonna pull that "I'm the older sibling I HAVE to make fun of my brother" stuff on the daily.
DAMIAN was also basically (outside of the League) raised by Dick. Like, Dick is there for every little thing he physically can be.
What if Danny, Jazz having taken him and ran after something went too far with their parents, and being herself, lies about her age and now is working in Gotham while taking care of Danny, ends up going to school with Damian because he gets lucky and gets paid tuition, idk have you seen Bruce Wayne? He doesn't care about money.
Danny is not having a good time in general for many reasons so he's not social in the slightest. Damian can respect it, Jon is having a mini panic attack over this kids unnaturally slow heartbeat. Either way, Jon wants to befriend him, Damian doesn't mind for once but doesn't show it, and Danny is like "oh god rich kids-" to everyone in the school.
Things happen and someone has been messing with Danny about his parents for a while, and when the teacher has them write a card to their parents, Danny writes one to his sister. Of course the bully has to jump on that, calling him stupid and things.
Bully: It's a card to our parents Danny, not our siblings.
Danny, who's finally had enough but is sad not angry: My sister did raise me! She raised me when my parents didn't.
And now the whole class is dead silent and watching the crying and standing boy in shock. The teacher tries to talk to him only for the boy to book it, and much to everyone's surprise, Damian is right behind him.
Jon is also not far behind, having told the teacher he'd handle it, thank ancients the teacher liked the boy. But they catch up after a few minutes, which how the heck is this kid so fast, and Damian does his best as emotionally stunted as he is to make him feel better. Jon is around the corner just listening cuz he actually has quite the good family life and doesn't know how to deal with that.
It's very awkward at first but Damian eventually tells him how, while his dad is always busy and he knows he cares, his brother raised him as well after he started living with them. He doesn't explain the whole assassin thing obviously, but he tells him how he'd lived with his mom until a few years ago and his brother had helped him adjust more socially.
Danny is literally thrilled to have a friend who understands. He's not gonna go tell him he's a ghost anytime soon, but hey, friends! He can't wait to introduce them to Sam and Tucker sometime. (He still talks to them, they just have to be careful.)
Befriending Jon was also nice, Danny likes the other as well.

Afrolatino Jason and 5th Robin Duke genuinely make me emotional.Duke was robbed so fucking badly and we KNOW damn well it's because he's the only black Batkid and that DC is gaslighting us for lack of a better term on him not being an 'official' one but Jason dgaf and calls him a Robin,a Batkid and a Batboy all the time and his brother with such a special type of fondness he's never had for the other three. He never had anything against Duke,he loved him from the start and Duke deserves that break after growing up a troubled but good kid, loosing his parents to Jokerization, having basically no friends and finding out his actual birth dad is an abusive deadbeat
Duke was adopted by Bruce when he was 11 and made Robin soon after and things went good during his Year One until he had a fight with Bruce that scared into thinking he was gonna get fired and as a technical black orphan who got bullied at school even if he fought back every time,he didn't wanna do anything other than to run away from home to avoid facing even the posibility of not being Robin anymore so he left Gotham in the dead of night to not get caught. He's found by a 20 year old Jason as this happened at the same time as Red Hood and The Outlaws Volume 2 kicked off(no,not rebirth,Jason's earned Rhato, his own cast,120 solid issues from 2010 to 2020)and taken in by him and so he becomes an Outlaw. There's other black kids on the team so he's not lonely at all anymore but Jason is who he's closest to and Jason loves him so fucking much back. He's borderline overbearing with how caring he is towards him but Duke loves it too much to complain and they do all the black brothers bonding traditions-Helping eachother with hair, black inside jokes, eating soul food/dominican cuisine together and they actually had so much fun teaching eachother the recipes, assigning themselves character duos from their shared favorite media(they're SO Aang and Zuko,it's nuts),no personal space between them because they can't help but want to be close all the time and to dick around together. They share a bed more often than not and play Animal Crossing sacredly together and Jason steals whatever things he sees he thinks Duke will like to gift them to him and Duke's as protective of Jason as he is of him because he feels he deserves it,just like how he made him feel deserving of Robinhood(ha!)
There's two very important scenes in Rhato-Issue 39,when Jason snarks he was just 'The Replacement Robin' and Duke defensively says 'You were always my favorite Robin when i was little!I never even got to see you in action but you're my favorite Robin for good now!' and Jason's stunned silent, completely unsure how to process it.And Issue 110,when Duke says '..........I was never a real Robin.I've been with you guys way longer than i ever was with Bruce-' so Jason cuts him off with 'Yeah,no shit you're not Batman's Robin. You're The Outlaws' Robin-You're my Robin and you always have been and you always will be' so Duke gets teary but also grins so hard his eyes close as his joyful face takes up most of the panel and a text box reads 'Duke Thomas is happy.Jason Todd is happy again, thanks to him. They're eachother's Robin,on purpose and by choice'

🦇🐥 Batman and Robin (2023) #5 rambling and a conspiracy theory lol
tbh this is the most exciting issue for me since…the first one 💀 i’m going to talk about the story and art separately because Nikola Cizmesija’s one of my favorite action focused comic artists so this issue’s a treat 😭
Alfred used to mediate during a lot of Bruce and Damian’s early relationship, so it’s refreshing to see Bruce take more initiative involving himself in Damian’s life even if it’s for a case lol
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
a couple instances of Alfred’s fatherly support on behalf of Bruce and Damian from Batman and Robin (2011) #2, 4, 39 and Teen Titans (2016) #1
Tumblr media
Damian seems to take Bruce's involvement more as a sign he’s not reliable rather than Bruce finally just. being around to help him. which is fair 😭
Tumblr media
this is complementary to Cizmesija’s art, but i love this half of the page so bad 😭 the negative space and the shaded foreground with Damian mid-run gives this feeling of time kinda stopping for us to really feel the impact of Damian’s entrance AND the effect it has on Bruce, like!! that wide eyed expression in the below panel!! 😭
Tumblr media
Bruce’s quiet “you can do it, son” to A FULL BODY CHEER OF “GO, DAMIAN!” Bruce witnessing Damian be great outside of Robin, and on top of that it’s just another mundane moment that Bruce has wanted with Damian 😭
Tumblr media Tumblr media
this is such a goofy bully line sdfgh though the whole “broken” bit might be a callback to Batman and Robin (2011) #1, in that Bruce is really trying to do his job as a father here or i'm likely reading way too into it
SO the “shocking ending” of Zach being Zsasz’s kid was definitely a surprise but then got me wondering what is up with Williamson doing reveals of new kids for villains lol otherwise, the hints in the issue were neat!
Tumblr media
the tally marks!! at least tallying blocks is pretty innocent compared to kills 😭
Tumblr media Tumblr media
and Damian would recognize how Zsasz moves, since he’s personally fought him before in Streets of Gotham (2009)!! very much not in a sport, but uh maybe it was to Zsasz
the art!! first a shoutout to the colorist Rex Lokus for giving Damian his green eyes and maybe melanin (it didn’t look consistent throughout so i say maybe)!! 😭 also a Talia by Cizmesija!! even though this panel calls her a “not great” teacher…💀
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
SUCH A FUN PAGE 😭 i’ve been into montage scenes lately lol and i love how quickly Cizmesija establishes Damian’s routine - Tues, Wed, and Fri are the funniest for me!! Damian grumpily getting lectured by his teacher in the foreground while his classmate’s still visibly steaming from the hit he took LOL, DAMIAN’S BUG EYED STARE WITH HIS SUNGLASSES UP, and then Damian looming. stealthily. in a tree. while some kid is blatantly pointing him out HAHA 😭
Cizmesija’s use of motion lines and effects when conveying movement is so cool!! the shonen manga vibes jumps out!! the smoke/dust trails following the movements; the limbs and soccer ball having a sort of blur effect with the motion lines. V COOL.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
which leads to my favorite part of Cizmesija’s work - HIS IMPACT SHOTS!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
more motion lines and effects!! the splatter effects!! the arcs!! the jolting impacts!! GRRAAHH!! the setup to that impact shot of Zach's block is so great, and then following with Damian's reaction!! i almost wish that "???" wasn't there, just because that expression of stunned silence already feels so loud!!
last thoughts about Cizmesija's art is that i'm really hoping for a showdown between Damian and Zach next issue because i need to see a Damian fight scene in Nikola Cizmesija-fashion 😭 we get a taste of it with Orca and soccer but i NEED MORE LOL for now, dropping the moment when Damian overpowers Zsasz, in Batman: Streets of Gotham #11 since it was such an epic moment
Tumblr media
okay SLAPPING MY CONSPIRACY BOARD!! so on another note Principal Stone being Shush is starting to feel like a red herring and Ms. Heather Hall could actually be Shush. Shush’s main point about Damian as his instructor was emphasizing how much potential he has, but the “wrong” influence could affect that
Tumblr media
Stone and Hall have made the same observation about Damian’s potential, but the difference is how they address that - one wants Bruce to be more involved while the other wants Bruce to back off
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Stone acknowledged Damian can take care of himself but still wants Bruce to step up in Damian’s life; Hall says it’s okay to be a helicopter parent BUT implies giving Damian space (which we already know Bruce has given so much of after Alfred’s death to the point of neglect 😭)
Tumblr media
Hall even suggests moving Damian on to college, which would estrange Damian further. also idk how Damian kicking his teammates/bullies asses at soccer is really “making friends” lol
and of all the subjects she’s teaching, it’s AP Biology - according to the current case Batman and Robin are working on, which is centered around DNA-sequencing, it makes Hall the perfect accomplice to Langstrom
Tumblr media
this is where my brain started reaching because i laughed at first at how specific that comparison is, but then it just made me think of how Shush’s first introduction was sniping Bruce LOL anyway, Bruce’s reaction is me 😭
Tumblr media
one more Cizmesija appreciation panel - the lil running effects behind Damian :)

Hi, new follower who asked about Talia a few days ago here. I don't know if you want to talk about dc, so feel free to ignore this. But can I say just how blatantly racist it is that Damian being trained at all, even in the runs where he isn't abused/tortured, is so bad from the Al Ghul's, but Batman does the same shit.
Bruce took in a traumatized child and taught him how to fight, then had him fighting grown ass adults and murderers and the literal Joker. They're regularly shot at as Robins by people who fully intend to kill them, but the Al Ghuls are the ones going too far.
I definitely think you're onto something here. Like, Damian being trained at such a young age is out of character for Talia IMO. The Talia who lied to Bruce about miscarrying to stop him from putting his life on the line to protect her and the baby, then sent that baby to a safe place to protect him is not the same Talia who had Damian trained to fight at like 6. (racist ass character assassination and its consequences) and him being trained to fight at such a young age is meant to show us the "brutality of the Al Ghuls" in contrast to Robin training which is "safer" because...reasons, there a lot to unpack there that I feel like certain writers and editors would rather not address... Like on the very surface level we know the answer is "These are Batman books, Robin is a popular Batman character, we're meant to suspend our disbelief because it's comics and kid superheroes are fun for kids to read." But on a "These comics are written, drawn, colored, and edited by very real people with clear racist/xenophobic tendencies" level, I feel like there was an unconscious push to write these very...white man's burden-esque comparisons between the Al Ghuls and Bruce to show Bruce in a better light because, in any other context, Bruce would be the bad guy. Just thinking of the way earlier comics paint Damian's behavior as "feral" and "bloodthirsty" even when he and Tim were shown to be pretty much going back and forth with bullying each other in a way I would describe as an extreme depiction of sibling rivalry, there was always this unspoken feeling of "Damian is a wild child because he was raised by his backward, wrongminded mother and grandfather" which we don't get with Tim. After all, Tim is white so none of his behavior carries the same weight (which is why I think the fandom defaulted to painting Tim as some sort of poor wilting flower who can't defend himself against a 10-year-old even though we literally saw him going tit for tat with said 10 year old, just petty as he wanna be but I digress) TLDL; While I personally love Robin as a concept and like Damian as a character, until the very weird and racist double standard that exists in how his time with his mother is depicted and the time with his father is depicted is addressed (I don't mean in that weak ass Damian tells his parents they're equally fucked up way either because to me that feels like a cop-out that doesn't fully address why people have an issue with Damian's upbringing and how it paints Talia), Damian's time as Robin will always make me feel some type of way. Idk if any of that made sense, I'm still really tired. Thanks for the question tho <3

This is an interactive story. The next part will be based on what you guys choose.
Warning, the story heavily revolves around dark topics, like suicide, abuse (all types), bullying, all that jazz. It's an au, HEAVILY canon divergent. So, idk proceed carefully
"If you're watching this, it means I'm dead."
Suddenly, Jason wished he'd never bought the sticker covered camera. He'd seen it in a charity shop, looking all lonely on it own little table. All the other camera were old, and had dents and scratches, but this one looked almost new and bursting with personality.
It had cost a lot, of course, and Jason had considered putting it back down. After all, he didn't need a camera. He was pretty sure Bruce had one at home anyways.
But then he'd seen a sticker, right under the shutter button, and he'd recognized his own costume. Whoever had owned this camera had liked Robin, his Robin, with curly hair and freckles instead of tanned skin and sparkly shorts. He had to buy it now, he thought, and so he did.
Jason pressed the play button again, and stared at the kid on the screen. He looked pale, and far too skinny for someone who, if his Bristol accent was anything to go off of, clearly had enough money to buy food.
"Sorry. I realize that was probably, like, a really big thing to say. Or, not big, I guess, it was only eight words. Tough? No.. Eh, whatever." The kid shrugged. "Point is, sorry. You picked up my camera though, so you have three options."
The whole situation is bizarre. He sort of assumed there would be pictures of nature, or videos of some cool tricks if the skateboard stickers are anything to go off of. Not a fucking death announcement.
Still, Jason is curious. Is the kid in danger, and thats why he thinks he's going to die? Or is he sad? Jason lived on the streets, he's not a stranger to people who's heads are clouded, people who think things will never get better. He's never felt that way personally, but he's known lots of people who ended up hurting themselves.
"First, you could just throw the camera away. A bit of a waste, since it's pretty good quality, but whatever. Second, you could delete everything on here and just use it yourself. I'd be okay with that. Photography is fun. Or, if you wanted, you could watch these videos."
Here, his cheeks flush, as though embarrassed. Its hard to hear, but Jason thinks he can hear the boy mutter something along the lines of what a dumb thing to say.
"Even though I'm going to die, I still sort of want to do cool things. Have a coming-of-age movie moment, you know? But I can't have one, so the next best thing is to try give it to someone else." Camera Kid paused. "I think coming-of-age movies are only for teens, though. It would be cooler if I, like, changed the life of someone who's already an adult. Cuz people my age aren't fully developed. That's shaping a life, not changing it. Changing a life would be much harder than shaping one."
Hm. Maybe Jason should give the camera to Dickhead. He's an adult, legally. Give the kid, whoever he is, his wish to try change a life.
Jason would never admit it, but he can't help but snicker. There's no way some random kid can shape or change a life. Especially not with a... Jason checked. Not with a one and half minute video.
"But if that doesn't happen, it's fine. Not like I'll know anyways. I like this camera, so I'll only give it away just before I die. Unless I come back as a ghost who's like, tethered to this camera, I'll never know if anyone watches these videos."
With those words, Jason sobered. It didn't feel funny once he remembered that whoever this kid was, dumb hopes aside, was clearly certain he'd die. If what he said was true, then he already was. That made Jason feel really bad for laughing, and even a little sick.
He'd seen dead bodies before, even his own mom's. He'd watched, smelt, and heard people die. He'd talked people off the ledge, both metaphorically and literally. But this? Holding the beloved camera of a boy who was most likely dead? It made death feel melancholy in a way Jason had never felt before.
"So, yeah. You have three options." The boy says, and reaches out to end the video.
Jason didn't know what to do. Really, he has four options.

I have a question about Andy your House OC!!!
Is he friends with any of the main cast or other characters? Or other OCs?
Who is he closest with??
he looks super cool and cute I love his design!
thank you for the ask!! (i spent way too long on this as you can see by the length) also i made an ask blog for him @ask-ppths-it-guy (it wont link and idk why)
in terms of the main cast: i dont think he has any real opinion on wilson (probably gossips a lot about him though because he can spread gossip really well (since he works all over the hospital)), i think he would argue with house for fun (no actual emotions in it, just cause its fun to bully each other), he wouldnt really interact with cuddy that much (though he will also gossip about her), and he thinks every one of house's staff is insane in his words "anyone who spends more than an hour a day with this man will die in a year"
in terms of other ocs, i think he would find Bird @head-of-forensics cool cause forensics sounds interesting (but hes probably too much of an anxious wreck to interact with him outside of randomly asking questions about forensics stuff), he thinks gabi @plastic-surgeon-gabi is great (hes trans), and he thinks the whole pediatrics unit is great (kids tend to think hes funny and like to ask about his tattoos and his hair and he tells them random medical fun facts hes learned from coworkers), and he would probably be chill with bruce @the-cleaning-guy (since both of them have to work all around the building)
i think hes still kinda new to working at ppth (cause i just made him) so i dont think he's particularly close to anyone yet but hes good at making friends so im sure he'll find his crowd
im really glad you like him!! hes been really fun to make so far! (also sorry about how long this ended up, im probably gonna head to bed now)

What are your thoughts on Duela Dent? Specifically her Pre-Crisis backstory—before she was retconned to not even being related to Harvey for Some Reason. I think there could be some interesting themes about generational trauma and how his own childhood severely impacted Harvey’s relationship with his own daughter.
Harvey and Gilda having a kid who becomes a superhero to try to redeem her heritage is a great concept, and like a lot of great concepts, DC dropped it down the drain. But that’s what fanon is for! There’s so much you can explore with Duela. If I were to remake her myself, I’d do away with the whole Joker’s Daughter and Harlequin identities, at least after the initial phase of her trying to get Batman’s attention by pretending to be other supervillains’ daughter; and instead have her reflect Harvey and Two-Face’s themes of duality and justice. Like, maybe her heroic identity has a Lady Justice theme with a symbol of scales, a sword for a weapon and a tied domino mask with coloured lenses to mimic a blindfold. Or maybe she defiantly avoids all things duality-related to disown her father’s evil legacy, only to later incorporate her own version of it as she accepts him as a part of her. It doesn’t feel right to have her so associated with the Joker and similar to Harley Quinn when she isn’t even related to them, especially when they’re both very popular and present in DC already (in the Joker’s case, far more than he deserves). Let’s keep her a Dent first and foremost.
Anyway, onto the relationships! I like the idea that Harvey and Gilda wanted kids and them trying before the acid attack and turning out to have succeeded after the dad is a crime lord or in Arkham Asylum is so perfectly tragic. Maybe Harvey “Definitely Not Hanging on by a Thread” Dent wants to be a dad partly, subconsciously to prove to himself that he can be the opposite of his father, to create the ultimate proof that he isn’t doomed to fail and suffer and ruin everything he touches, that he’s capable of having a healthy, happy family and can handle his C-PTSD just fucking fine. In essence, to ‘redeem’ and stick it to his own terrible childhood and paternal heritage. The cycle of generational trauma can’t have that much power over him if he breaks it, can it? No more power than Gotham’s cycle of violence and corruption will have once he, Bats and Gordon take the streets back for the people! A nice work/personal life parallel that mirrors how Bruce doesn’t stop thinking like Batman when he takes the cowl off. But then the trial happens. And then Gilda misses her period. And now Harvey, unable to find a way out of perpetuating Gotham’s vicious cycle, is an absent father with an ever-growing criminal record who perpetuates his familial one. He passes that whole toxic mindset down to his child. He loves her so much and hates that he’s failing her! It’s just that you can’t hate yourself into a better person, so the ‘Oh God, I’m becoming my father’ stress on top of everything else wrong with him actually makes him spiral lower faster.
Two-Face, I believe, loves Gilda as much as Harvey does (though she doesn’t seem to love him back). I’d imagine he loves Duela too. I bet Duela is the only thing both he and Harvey can ignore the coin for. Two-Face loves in a particularly “If anything happens to her, I will kill everyone in Gotham and then myself” way. Of course, he makes things happen to her. Growing up with your dad, or his alter or whatever, committing murder and terrorism and such on the news is not fun. She could easily be bullied because of Harvey and Two-Face. So she would really resent them, especially the more immoral Two-Face, before gaining a more objective, nuanced understanding of them and struggling to reconcile how awful her daddy issues have felt her entire life with the causes of them being sympathetic and not beyond rehabilitation. When she becomes a superhero, does she avoid Gotham to avoid them? Does she never go on patrol while Two-Face is at large? Or does she seek the system out for catharsis, or the desperate, painful need to know her father in any capacity? Do they have incredibly awkward fights? The drama writes itself, but there’s a lot of comic potential too.
Duela: Dad, for fuck’s sake, go to therapy.
Two-Face: That’s my girl! We’re so proud of you, sweetheart! I mean, the way you took out my best muscle, that was amazing.
Duela: (rolls her eyes) Therapy. Now.
Two-Face, still robbing the bank: Right, right. In a minute. And don’t stay out too late again. It’s a school night. A little bit of financial redistribution really doesn’t have to be your problem, you know. Just saying.
Henchman: I didn’t know you had a daughter, boss. Seeing you act like this is so -
Two-Face: Finish that sentence and you’ll get a closed-casket funeral.
Duela: Dad!
Two-Face: Sorry. It can be open casket.
Duela: (sighs) Put your gun down and stop stealing the public’s money, or I will start vaping to cheer myself up.
Two-Face: Alright, Jesus! I’m coming!
Does he kill innocent people, sells drugs and guns and torture the Batkids without losing any sleep over it? Yes. Is he absolutely horrified by the thought of his little girl being unhappy? Also yes. Will he stop doing the aforementioned activities that she’s unhappy about? …Later. After she’s done all her homework.
Everything about Gilda is underdeveloped in canon, but she’s usually depicted as unconditionally loving Harvey despite his crimes. Having a child to worry about complicates that. The Dent system are in no condition to coparent. They might even be dangerous, if not directly. Completely cutting your husband out of your life is hard and could hurt your daughter, but so could taking her to visit him in Arkham every weekend. Offering your heart is one thing, exposing your kid’s is another. The conspicuously on-theme name Duela sticks out to me. Did Harvey, newly fixated on duality, get to name her? Was that a concession Gilda gave him while they were arranging for him to have little to no involvement in her life? Does Gilda tell Duela stories about the good in Harvey and their past together? How comfortable is she discussing who he’s become? Is she willing to forgive, or perhaps rather put aside, every atrocity the system could possibly commit except deliberately hurting their daughter? What happens if somehow one of them crosses that line?
One thing I don’t need to question is that Duela is the ultimate mother’s girl. If a villain threatens Gilda to get to her, so help them. She might have no interest in law because look how well taht career turned out for, but be an avid artist, in Gilda’s field of sculpting and/or different mediums. Art can be very therapeutic, after all. And Duela undoubtedly needs therapy. (“I’ll go back to Arkham if you talk to the school counsellor tomorrow!” “I’m not killing people!” “That’s no excuse!”) You could have a fun contrast between her having an archetypical creative type’s disorganized, expressive, eccentric personality as a civilian and her serious vigilante persona being all about rationality, clarity and balance. Chaos and order in one. Her costume and equipment could even be black and white while her art and casual clothes are brightly coloured.

What's your hc on Robin's relationship with his sexuality? How he discovered it, how he feels about it, how he deals with the heteronormative society around him, etc etc whatever you're thinking about. And feel free to include any of the other characters that you also hc as non straight!
Oh this question. I can go ON and ON about this.
Since this question mentioned mainly Robin, I’ll start with him and go more into detail with only Robin for this post.
I feel like Robin’s thoughts and mentality with his sexuality was mostly always negative and his self esteem about it was awful.
I can imagine just since day one of being friends with Finney, he had a crush on him. He saw Finney as someone who was so much better than him. Finney treated him with kindness and Robin treated him with just as much kindness, if not more.
I think around 4th-5th grade for him is when he realized the way he felt around and about Finney wouldn’t be considered normal by society. Robin read the newspapers, he watched the TV, he heard what people have said. He knows he isn’t considered “normal”.
The day he realized, he just went home and cried and yelled into his pillow because he thought he was a horrible person. He felt like he disappointed his parents, he felt like they were looking down on him in shame. He thought that if they were alive, they wouldn’t love him anymore if they knew. I feel like if Robin was religious, he would have prayed to god or whatever was up there to fix and cure him, to rid him of his “sins”.
Robin doesn’t discuss this with his uncle or Finney at pretty much any point early on. He wants to like girls so he can be considered normal, but he knows he can’t force himself to like girls. He can’t help but feel his heart flutter when Finney does so much as look at him. Seeing Finney have a crush on Donna completely destroyed him, but what could he do? He didn’t think Finney would ever like him; a boy.
Robin defends Finney from bullies that call him slurs and make fun of him because if Robin was the one in Finney’s place, Robin would want to be defended as well.
What Robin doesn’t know is that other kids do call Robin those things. They talk about him, just not to his face. He’s called those things because they think he looks gay in those jeans, gay in those tank tops, gay with his long hair. But the most damning piece of evidence is that he defends Finney, someone who is constantly bullied on the suspicion that he is gay. When Robin did find out about all these rumors, he felt more self hate than he ever did before.
He does learn to be accepting of who he is as a person, though it takes a long long time.
If you want to read about more characters in TBP with this question, you can click more to read more or leave it off here :)
I feel like Finney would be characteristically pessimistic when it comes to him realizing he’s bisexual. He knows all the backlash he’d get from people if he ever mentioned it. He knows Gwen would still support and accept him though. :)
I feel like he would discover/realize he was bisexual when he realized he started looking at Robin differently, like the same way he would look at Donna. He noticed how his heart started beating faster when he was around him.
He doesn’t talk to his dad about it for the fear that their relationship will get worse, and he doesn’t want to be hurt anymore than he already has been.
He mostly accepts himself, but he just wonders what would happen if his bullies did find out about this.
-
Bruce discovered he was bisexual when he saw Vance for the first time and went home, and couldn’t get him out of his head. Vance literally had him entranced.
Bruce is one of those people that despite all of society’s opinions on the lgbtq, he is open about his bisexuality. He’s a bit sad when his friends start looking at him weird and his baseball team avoid him completely after they learn this info.
Bruce’s family is 100% accepting of him and I don’t see it any other way. They would still love Bruce to the fullest and would just want him to be happy and to most importantly stay safe.
Bruce is probably the one who had the least amount of a crisis over his sexuality.
-
Vance is probably the one who hates himself the most when it comes to his sexuality. After his parents divorced and he became a child of split custody, his life kinda went downhill a bit. While Bonnie is a very supporting and kind mother, Scott (Vance’s dad) is pretty religious, and drills thoughts into Vance’s head, threatening him, and just making Vance afraid.
Vance had religious trauma, and he was very cautious when it came to his dad. He felt like he was walking on eggshells around him all the time.
Vance didn’t realize he was gay for a while. Sure, he read metal band magazines and would stare at the guys on his band posters for a bit too long, but he didn’t really consider it. He kind of only realized when he became friends with Bruce, and got unknowingly jealous when girls got close with Bruce.
When Vance finally realized he was gay, he kind of just lost it. He went home to his mom’s house, locked himself in his room, and kind of just had self-destructive behavior for a bit. He thought he was disgusting and thought that he didn’t deserve anything good since he had a crush on a boy.
Most kids in North Denver already suspected Vance of being gay. They would make fun of his choker, his clothing style, and his long curly hair; plus how angelic he looked physically was a reason for this.
Even after he starts dating Bruce, he’s still very very closeted and is afraid to even stand right next to Bruce in public. He gets very paranoid when people find out about them dating.
-
Billy is a bit like of an odd ball.
Billy would get notes from girls slipped into his backpack or folders when he was younger asking him if he wanted to be their boyfriend, but every time Billy said no and brushed it off.
Billy’s parents had zero clue or suspicions about Billy being bi but they didn’t berate him when they did find out; they loved him all the same.
Billy kinda didn’t really realize himself. All he knew was that he found the lonely boy on the playground that was a year younger than him interesting. Billy found Griffin to be interesting.
He was always thrown off by romantic and suggestive scenes in movies though. He’d exaggerate a gag, and would turn away or leave the room. He didn’t know why it irked him so much. He didn’t know of the term asexual.
When he finally did realize, all he knew was that he only wanted to grow old with one person, which was Griffin.
-
Griffin was always a bit wacky from the start.
Bonnie knew ever since Griffin was in daycare that he wasn’t like any of the other boys there. Griffin always wanted to play dress up, was a mama’s boy, was a very shy kid, and was kind of frightened by the rowdiness of other boys.
When Griffin grew older, he never had any crushes. He never found any kid in his grade interesting, he never had a thing for anyone. He found boys cute, sure, but never got any crushes on them. Heck, it even took a while for him to feel any kind of feelings for Billy.
Griffin also was irked by romantic and suggestive scene. He never saw the appeal. He could feel the sweat on his hands and the turning of his stomach whenever he saw stuff like that.
Griffin knew what the term gay was. His mom had taught him that some people were just different than others and that it was okay. When he finally kinda realized, he didn’t care in the slightest. But it was odd. He was interested in boys, but at the same time, he never had been. He had grown to only be interested in Billy.
He just had to get to him a little bit, that’s all.

TBP HC about what their secret hobbies are because I need some TBP content. Thanks
Silly secret hobbies for the boys!
Griffin - Besides his hobby of picking up rocks or hanging in random places? He secretly enjoys scrapbooking. Nature scrapbooking to be exact. Never talks about it though because everyone knows him to be actively wandering around instead of sitting down and focusing all his time on something
Finney - He builds a lot of things besides rockets. Get him some Legos and he made a working vending machine. Only Robin really knows about this so technically it's both a secret and not
Bruce - Bruce writes poetry in his off time. He has a journal that comes with a tiny lock on it and the key is in the tongue of some sweaty shoes. The poetry is pretty good, but nobody has ever read it except for Vance.
Robin - Robin secretly knows how to play a little bit of viola. Not enough to be considered good, but enough that he could pop out a Mary had a Little Lamb without much trouble. He plays it at random to cheer up his mum by pretending he's in a mariachi band
Vance - He collects bottle caps and they all stay in a shoebox underneath his bed. Some of them are pretty enough to just be there, and the other half is eaten (Mostly the more common ones). He'll steal the caps from other kids or off the ground
Billy - Billy seems the type of kid to have a hobby of woodworking. Just whittling away at some chunk of wood or making birdhouses. He's made Harper's doghouse by scratch and is darn proud of that
Gwen - Kicking bully butts. I'm joking she sews for fun and also so she can mend whatever rips
