Whilst I don't really headcanon Tim as trans, I could totally see tim fake their dead and resurface as a woman a few months later.

Like she faked her dead as Timothy Drake, who got murdered by lex Luther during an meeting and came back as Dorothy Wayne, new adopted daughter of Bruce Wayne.

People say that she was adopted because Bruce was grieving or that she is the result of an one night stand, but the rumor mill was taken down pretty quickly by the Wayne enterprise.

Damian did the most research out of everyone. Like he is a product of his raising and is still doing his best to relearn everything.
