Love how in Sweeny Todd Mrs. Lovett and Sweeny Todd are both freaks but they're freaks on completely different wavelengths.

The only reason Todd is bothering to continue breathing is for revenge. The only interest he has in anything or anyone around him is how they might help or hinder his cause. The only relationship he's legitimately emotionally invested in is with his straight razor.

Meanwhile Mrs. Lovett thinks she's in a rom-com where her old crush has come back to help her get her struggling restaurant on its feet, but her crush's ex keeps coming around trying to ruin everything.

Both of them go the whole musical without fully realizing that their brainworms are mutually unintelligible.

Antony is there in the background oblivious to this entire dynamic because he's too caught up in his own gothic romance plot to notice that the castaway he rescued is murdering people.

the sonic fandubs mean everything to me

when I want to write something self indulgent to give me all the angsty and cuddly hurt/comfort feels but I can't because I end up feeling guilty because I'm seeking after feels that I feel in an inappropriate place because my mom told me one time when I was 15 that I shouldn't search that out or it's probably sexual sin but it confuses me because ALL the feels happen that way for me even if it's entirely platonic and nonsexual and so I don't know if it's okay to want to write to that because apparently all pleasure of any sort, even over platonic stories, is sexual or comes with a possibly probably sexual feeling and I also am having a hard time figuring out what's genuine conviction from God and what's just my anxiety/OCD/perfectionism/fear of failure

I think we need more stories about how even if you are genuinally a bad person or did something truly atrocious that does not justify the suffering of the mordern Prison Industrial Complex and how prison more than punishment should be about making sure if not all at least most people can go back to society and never do crimes again.

I mean it. Most stories about how bad prison is either follows a thief that did it out of necessity or an innocent man wrongfully arrested and we should think of those people ofc. But we should also think about how prison is not supposed to be karma is supposed to help society (plus we need more assistencial programs to suport victims of violence as well asap).

i keep seeing people's complaints about the god stuff mill down to "it's getting in the way of the rp, they never talk to each other ever unless it's about gods!" which would have been a fair argument... if they hadn't been trotting it out since 30 episodes ago...

like not only is it not true that its all they talk about it also is?? rp?? very essential for telling the story rp?? great for exploring many of the major themes of the campaign and how the characters relate to and understand them rp??? are they just supposed to talk about their feelings all the time with their feelings being completely divorced from the world moving beneath their feet??? i've been watching Leverage with my mom these past couple months and i can feel myself turning into Sophie Devereaux as i answer this ask. does no one care about story anymore?? about narrative??

I am a little curious to which Love interest when you start seeing them would be best parental figure around the Mc's son.

Eveline is excellent with kiddos and adores them, and theyre very drawn to her :3 she'd also be more careful with her more self-destructive habits if she had to watch him for a period of time, but if it was a long-term relationship thing, she'd fall into a steady, calm maternal role. Shes a natural and would enjoy it very much.

Viktor, he's good at interacting with the boy and being able to tell when he's getting fussy. Though, we know his hangups around kids ... and the whole home situation ... Would probably offer some unusual parenting advice that actually works.

Lottie! She has the enthusiasm but isn't always a great "role model", but she tries. and ofc she has lots of patience and would notice the kiddo's quirks quickly.

Marius and Rocky are on the same level but for different reasons. Both want to please MC very much, and are comfortable with kids, so they want to help out!! Rocky is overly enthusiastic and has no idea what he's doing, Marius is too indulgent and wants to play more than parent. Sigh.

Zib is pretty indifferent but amused by the tot. He doesn't mind amusing him for a bit but uh hh... probably not the best "parental figure" haha. And that would bother him as he and MC get more serious.

Mordecai wants nothing to do with the thing and tries to be standoffish, but unfortunately, MC's son is extroverted and fearless, lol.

Jack is terrified and confused and doesn't like the loud squealing noises 💀 how do you turn it off.

(long post, sorry for the random people stumbling upon this lol)

so I'm the dm for the chatty hobbits campaign and essentially it's set in a beleriand-adjacent continent, but with a few extra races and stuff. of the founders of the original settlements, the king of elende (the elf kingdom) is Gil-galad's (invented for the campaign) twin brother Finellach/Finwain. originally he was inspired by the fact that gil galad has a ton of names but only uses ereinion/gil, so I just invented a new character and gave him half the names. I headcanon gil galad as maglor's son, so finwain is in universe maglor's son (left at the havens with gil bc his wife divorced him for kinslaying and his kingdom, being next door neighbors with morgoth, is far too dangerous for small children).

Anyways, his descendant Elinyel (also known as aramire or elinnor) is the current queen of Elende! she's an evil fire-themed bard who is extremely feanorian in all the worst ways - her actual kingdom prospered under her reign, but she just does not care about everyone else as long as she's protecting her people. There were some tensions with one of the major kingdoms to the north (conflict over unclaimed territory between the kingdoms and some tariff stuff), so instead of risking the other kingdom starting a war and hurting her people, she just preemptively invaded it and started burned all the border territories to the ground.

her actual coronation was pretty weird- so she's the second child, but her older sister was born in wartime and there's a general belief in elende that children of peacetime make better rulers, so Elinyel was chosen as her family's heir. her grandfather (the crown prince of his generation) died defending Elende in one of the major wars, but his younger brother and two young kids survived. there's a whole feud between their houses because the brother chose to retain the kingship even after the kids were old enough to take the throne. anyways, two generations later Elinyel killed her cousin Arendil (the previous king of Elende) over a dispute about the legitimacy of his house (and what she believed to be a dishonoring of her grandparents' sacrifice) and took the throne.

obviously she has many Issues. arendil also has two surviving kids who are now essentially trying to stop her from murdering all their neighbors in proactive defense of her people.

however, when she first ascended she recruited her friend group as her elite guard/vassals of the kingdom. (aka the other bosses in the storyline). so it escalated to a war between her forces and the children of arendil, which ultimately culminated in her beloved sister being killed by one of arendil's children. this in turn led to her having basically a massive mental breakdown and feeling like she failed to protect her loved ones (exacerbated by some of her other friends being killed in battles she led). a normal person might decide this is was kind of her fault for starting a war and putting her friends in charge of the army. instead she decided she needed to destroy everyone who could ever potentially pose a threat. which is, in her eyes, literally everyone on the continent (except for her kingdom, of course).

so now she is at war with absolutely everyone of all factions! She is also somehow winning by virtue of Song almost on the level of maglor himself, and ten (now six) also incredibly powerful friends. Anyways, she has decided that the best way to wipe out the continent (except her kingdom) and start fresh is to literally find an ancient lost stone that can break the Doors of Night, summon Morgoth himself, and start the Dagorath. obviously this will Not go well for anyone at all if she succeeds, but she is on a full-on rampage and genuinely believes she (plus friends) can protect her kingdom from Morgoth's army while he wipes out everyone else.

Finally got my Prussia Nendoroid in the mail today! Im so happy he’s finally home, I ordered him back in the fall and it took almost a year but im still happy. He actually came early since he was expected to come in August so he came home a month early. He now sits with his boyfriend on my shelf till all time. I need to take stuff off from there, his box had no space and I had to sacrifice some stuff to put it there

He though did not come with his feather pen, I looked and looked and it was no where to be found so I might write a email and hope I can get some compensation and if not oh well not that bad I can survive. But no watch it actually came in the mail and I was just blind

UNDERVERSE RAMBLES!!!

I was going to draw today but instead i just rewatched Underverse and oh my gosh the way Nightmare treats Cross vs Xchara is so funny to me but like in messed up way.

Cross ignores what he says and Nightmare goes berserk. Nightmare literally acts like he can't stand him (Also he literally pushed him into a mirror before this please send my boy justice) He literally switches up on how he treats Cross so fast. He is calm one moment then violent the next and then calm again. He accuses Cross of trying to use, fool, and manipulate him because he ignored his orders. He seems to expect the worse of Cross whether it be in Nightmare's favor (When he said that Cross was just a creation of despair and should join him) or not. (When he claims he is trying to fool him)

Xchara literally insults him and Nightmare doesn't even mention it. Yeah, he strangles him but for Nightmare it was surprising to me that he didn't do more. Maybe my bar is too low for this man but like damn I was expecting him to go down harder on him and yell and attack him harder like how he treats Cross. He's so calm with Xchara too. It's probably because he listens to him more though, and gave him more negativity. He's still shitty to both of them but unequally.

Also, Xchara orders him around he doesn't get angry about it. He just tells him he is his property which surprised me so much when I watched this. (Nightmare what???? the hell??) But like He didn't get angry.

Maybe I'm just going insane but the idea of Nightmare just bulling Cross for literally nothing and then only punishing Xchara for the extreme is so crazy to me. It's probably just because he knows that Cross is in a worse place mentally and he wants more negativity from him but I like to think that Nightmare has just adopted made Xchara his favorite of the two and is biased toward him because he tortures people for him and is more powerful with overwrite. So this whole scene is like disciplining your child, but like, worse and way more violent. It makes me think what if Cross was just dead forever and they took in Xchara instead when the AU Xchara made glitched out and disappeared.

Idk my brain is honestly just trying to push found family on a bunch of unforgivable psychos. (Please send Cross justice + Xchara) Nightmare would probably be the worst father figure ever in canon lol. At least it seems like he'd treat Xchara better than Killer. Ho Boy my man just gets treated like dog!!
