Okay guys I just watched white fang with ethan hawke and now I just can't take away the thought of a crossover with dps. A world where Neil comes to Alaska (or any country with wolves and snow) with his class, for idk a school trip or whatever, and they meet this shy dog caretaker who seems to be closer to animals than humans and has this wolf-looking dog following him everywhere.
For some reason Neil seems to be entranced by this boy, especially when he saw him up close and he drowned into the biggest and more beautiful translucent blue eyes he had ever seen. And then he tries to come closer to the boy, which is difficult because his loyal sidekick is growling everytime he comes too close, and Todd is always outside, playing with the dogs or hiding in the forest (some says he's taming wolves or living with them).
And then, because Neil is so sweet and so sincerely interested in Todd's way of living, Todd let him come closer, as well as the other poets, and make them discover the beauty of nature, the freedom of snowed landscapes and the rarity of animals communion. He shows them another world, far from welton strict academy and their families' burdening expectations, far from their severe and austere universe back in the city. They learn how to fish, how to walk in the snow, to take care of dogs, to make really good hot chocolate and live like the people in the mountains.
Once they even saw real wolves for the first time, and Todd doesn't seem afraid at all, he even appears like he knows them, his very blue eyes looking respectfully at the grandiose animals (and Neil knows at this very moment that he's falling in love, with a boy, with someone so different from him, but he doesn't care because Todd is so sweet, so interesting and his smile is so breathtaking when he plays in the snow with his dogs).
Neil talks to Todd about his passion for theater, shows him some books he took with him, Charlie shares his many adventures and pranks, Cameron teaches him his courses and classes, Knox recounts about his girlfriend and love and human beauty, Meeks and Pitts show him the radio they're building and Todd is mesmerized because he never saw or heard that before, and he never talked with people his age. Also Keating would tell him about poetry and Todd would be in awe, listening and drinking everything the man would share.
And in this universe of two worlds colliding, Neil and Todd would fall in love because for the first time in their lives Neil feels alive and Todd feels understood. And they would experience and discover feelings that unexpectedly but undoubtedly draw them to each other: love and friendship.

Isn’t it funny that many people question the sexuality of Knox or Charlie in the DPS, or even the other poets, but everyone has commonly assumed that Todd and Neil were gay? It's as if everyone agreed that this anxious and self-conscious poet boy and this depressed and too sensitive theater kid couldn't be straight. Why is the queer community always dragging mentally ill kids

Hi I need to ramble about dabihawks again because what do you mean horikoshi created the perfect characters for the "two sides of the same coin" plot but never used it? What do you mean he created two characters that could've been heros together or villains together but chose the universe where they're apart? What do you mean he created two characters that could've understood each other so deeply but never made them share their worries together? Never make them talk seriously? Never make them realize that they could've helped each other?
Tumblr media
Yes dabihawks is toxic but you wanna know why? (Partly) because toxicity is the only thing they've ever known. Their family, their growing up environment, the people they interacted with, their ideals, their opinions, the society: everything in their lives is toxic. So of course it's hard for them to be healthy for each other since they can't even be healthy for themselves.
However, even if a lot of people are saying that they represent the "we make each other worse" trope, I don't really agree (although I respect every opinions don't get me wrong). I feel like if they talked seriously they could've created something new. Both relating on how shitty their fathers were, on the abuse, on the society's marginalization they went through (because yes, Hawks is marginalized and not integrated, try me). Both talked about their dreams of becoming heroes but failing because touya became a villain and keigo became a soldier. Both relating on how difficult it is to express emotions when you lived all your life with people wanting to dictate your every moves and dreams (the commission forcing hawks to exist as they want while endeavor forcing his dream on dabi, but the reverse is also true). They lost trust in everything but could've helped each other to trust again.
Tumblr media
They could've been the anchor for each other if horikoshi actually didn't throw their potential away (love you hori but you fucked up on that one). They could've help each other because even though dabi is obssessive he would've listen to someone who when through the same atrocities as him, just like the only people he was able to bound with were the League.
They could've help each other because hawks would've realise that his true will as a hero is not to follow the HSPC but save little children that just wanted to be accepted. Dabi could've help Hawks to get away from the commission while Hawks would've help dabi reconsider his revenge on his family (not endeavor though, but the rest of his family). Dabi would've understand that great heros are doing what they can, but in the current society it's just not enough. And they both would've understand that bad people don't fester the society, the society fester the people.
They could've been the comfort place they were both seeking. They could've understand each other. They might even have brought keigo and touya back.
What a waste.

His wings are so much bigger and more majestic in the mangas than in the anime. Also I feel like they're much more anatomically correct and detailed.

I am SO SERIOUS about how people use "dabi" and "hawks" or "touya" and "keigo".
Dabi is a monster that didn't want to be born. Dabi is obssessive because he forgot how to trust. Touya was just a child that wanted to be seen.
Hawks is a creation that fears to live. Hawks is optimistic because it's the only thing he has left. Keigo was just a child that wanted to help.
Keigo could've done so much for Touya but Hawks will never be able to help Dabi.
I hate them.

Since I'm broke and dumb I can't make a Spotify Playlist for them because I ain't got the app, so here's fifteen songs that make me think of dabihawks because I'm obsessed and I love music:
- The Smiths: Bigmouth strikes again
"Sweetness, I was only joking when I said I'd like to smash every tooth in your head."
- Radiohead : Creep
"I'm a creep, I'm a weirdo. What the hell am I doing here? I don't belong here."
- The neighborhood: Daddy issues (OF COURSE.)
"I'd do whatever I could do. I'd run away and hide with you. I know that you have daddy issues, and I do too."
- Gracie Abrams: I love you I'm sorry
"You were the best but you were the worst, as sick as it sounds I loved you first. I was a dick, it is what it is, a habit to kick, the age-old curse."
- New Order: Crystal
"I don't know what to say. You don't care anyway. I'm a man in a rage with a girl I betrayed."
- Stray Kids: Silent cry
"The rainwater wells up, everything is complicated. The dark shadow behind your bright appearance can be shown to me, don't hide it from me."
- Lady Gaga: Judas
"Forgive him when his tongue lies through his brain. Even after three times he betrays me."
- The Weeknd: Until I bleed out
"Well I don't wanna touch the sky no more, I just wanna feel the ground when I'm coming down."
- Taylor Swift: I can do it with a broken heart
"Cuz I'm a real tough kid, I can handle my shit, they said babe you gotta fake it 'til you make it and I did."
- System of a down: Chop Suey
"Father into your hand I command my spirit, father into your hands, why have you forsaken me?"
- Agust D: People
"What kind of person am I? Am I a good person? Or a bad person? Many ways to judge."
- Imogen Heap: Headlock
"You say too late to start, got your heart in a headlock, I don't believe any of it."
- Halsey: Him and I
"He's out his head, I'm out my mind, we got that love, the crazy kind. I am his and he is mine, in the end it's him and I."
- Lana del Rey: Doin' Time
"Evil, I've come to tell you that she's evil, most definitely. Evil, ornery, scandalous and evil, most definitely. The tension, it's getting hotter."
- Mr. Kitty: After Dark
"I've given what I have, I showed you I'm growing. The ashes fall slowly as your voice consoles me."

It's so hard to be in love with a ship that isn't canon, wasn't meant to be canon and will never be canon, but would've been so good if it was canon.

I don't really like endhawks and it's not so much because of the age gape or the fan/idol relationship (la brava and gentle have some age gape and bakudeku are the pure description of fanatization/idolization trope and I like both of those ships), but more because endeavor literally embodies what Hawks hate the most.
Hear me out on this one, they have cute interactions but for me the fact that Hawks stayed by endeavor's side even knowing what he did to his children is kinda out of character. I mean the whole thing why keigo wanted to be a hero was to help people and make them smile because he went through abusive behavior all his life. Endeavor do save people but doesn't make them smile, not directly anyway. Hawks wanted to help the new generation, but endeavor traumatized the generation he gave birth to. Hawks wanted to be free, but endeavor stole freedom from his children (at least until he becomes number 1 and shoto comes to UA).
I understand hawks forgiving and accepting endeavor even after what he did, because hawks is so optimistic that he wants to believe eveyone can change for the better, but I don't understand him staying by endeavor's side. I mean, how traumatic would it be to discover that your idol who saved you and gave you a dream to follow did the exact same things as the person who traumatized your childhood? I see some narrative problems here. Or maybe it's just that hawks is too optimistic for his own good.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The thing is, I think Hawks so desperately needed a symbol to give him hope that he didn't even try to look more profoundly into endeavor's mistakes. Like he tried so hard to convince himself. Here we can see that hawks says he could keep up with training and abuse by the commission because someone supported him, probably implying endeavor. But it wasn't even true, hawks just chose to idealize enji because he saved him, but enji didn't know hawks before metting him as a hero, so he couldn't actually support him in his dream. I know it's only metaphoric, but it does mean that Keigo just needed something, someone to hold onto because of all the suffering he went through. And he chose endeavor, who was the only person indirectly "caring" for him.
Now maybe it's because I adore Hawks and I hate endeavor (the man and his actions, not the way he's written), but I can't imagine them in a romantic relationship. How could Hawks give his trust and love to the exact same profile as his father? How could they live together without hawks remembering the abuse? I think that even enji himself wouldn't trust his own reactions and feelings, hunted by the past. "The past never dies", and it's true for everyone in this story.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Look how similar they are. Honestly I don't really understand horikoshi on this one because if he wanted to give enji a loyal sidekick, then why give Hawks an abusive father?
Or if horikoshi wanted to give us grumpy x playful duo, then do it with dabihawks? They had so much potential to be our favorite bickering duo, and their drama would've been so good if they both knew each other before touya's death, became close during hawks undercover mission and then went through a heartbreaking breakup during touya's reveal.
Tumblr media
(look at them they could've been soo good as a grumpy x playful duo aah)
Instead, we got Hawks indirectly supporting the same abuse he went through and the destruction of dabihawks' potential with the biggest absence of interactions ever after the first war.
(Also I want to add that I respect everyone's opinion and I don't hate endhawks shippers at all! It's just my point of view on the ship, everyone is free to ship whoever they want if that stays legal 🙏)
Maybe I'm going too far into the analysis (someone stop me please I'm talking too much-), but I really think that endhawks couldn't work, for hawks as much as for enji. Now the interesting thing to ask would be : would dabihawks actually work in a romantic relationship? I guess we'll never know.
