Help me prove a point.
If you were tasked with making dinner for 10 people, and you knew in advance that one of your guests had a mild* food allergy to one of your ingredients,
*By mild, I mean that it causes symptoms like headache, tingling in the mouth, or digestive issues, not something more acute like hives or anaphylaxis.

My mother: We're going to have (dish loaded with soy) for dinner, what do you want?
Me: I'll probably just eat like, a party pizza and eat it in my room.
Her: No, we're cooking it outside.
Me: You're eating inside?
Her: Yes.
Me: I'll eat it in my room.
Her: It makes me feel bad when you say stuff like that.
Me, with a soy allergy who gets nauseous and headaches at the smell: That's, the point!

what really sucks about having both adhd and food allergies is that food tips are never geared towards both.
adhd food advice is like: have a handful of nuts for some protein/a quick snack! can’t. i’m allergic
then allergy friendly recipes are like: here’s an easy recipe that’s just 20 steps! like bitch? you think my adhd ass can handle anything more than 2 steps?
just the hoops and hurdles i have to go through to find food that’s 1. easy to prepare and 2. safe for my allergies is kinda ridiculous
tldr: having food allergies suck and the adhd doesn’t help at all
(though if anyone has adhd and allergy friendly food ideas, please lmk! i’m allergic to peanuts, all tree nuts, all beans/legumes, and peas)

People who are lactose intolerant give so little fucks they will just chug down a milkshake say their stomach hurts a bit and carry on with their day meanwhile you have people with peanut allergies being like: "if any of the ingredients of this meal have been in a ten mile radius of a nut you'll have to stab this needle in my leg with the force of a kid trying to get the straw in their capri sun or I die"

I've never seen agere with the green heart before but it was the one that was linked so I just made both

Bruh I had my dietitian appointment that I’ve been waiting 6 months for just to get told to go back to the gp bc it’s “not a food issue”
YEAH NO SHIT LADY
Literally everything I eat makes me feel sick / throw up and or other really fun bodily functions that I don’t want to even think about
I had to fill out so many forms of invasive and incredibly personal information about my body and the reactions it had, for this lady to NOT EVEN LOOK AT THEM
She saw I filled out the food diary (everything I ate made me sick / ill / uncomfortable) but told me that I will still getting the nutrients I need despite it making me so sick so I should continue doing that
The only reason that food log was filled out our properly was because I was told to, otherwise it wouldn’t be
She said that because I have nice skin (I have hEDS my skin will always look a certain way because of this condition) and the fact that I’m not malnourished (and am not underweight) that there’s nothing wrong with me
So great. I’m back to the start, triggered (she told me my weight even after I asked her not to) and told me she sees sicker people then me and therefore it’s not a food issue and I’m fine.
So yay. I’m completely fucked.
If anyone has any advice or suggestions I would love to hear them because I’m desperate at this point.

Sometimes it's annoying how unseriously people take my allergies when they find out I won't die. Like, yeah, I won't die, but that doesn't change the fact that I am allergic, my body doesn't like this, I will suffer.
I don't mind being the taste tester for people who do have deadly allergic reactions to the same allergies I have, don't get me wrong. Because I'd rather have one of my allergic reactions than have them nearly die. Doing that doesn't bother me.
It bothers me when people don't take into account the fact that I have allergies. I'm not asking for accommodation in places I really shouldn't be eating, like I won't go into an Asian restaurant with a soy allergy and demand they make something I can eat. Because I'm not an asshole and the world doesn't revolve around me, I can save everyone the time and energy, if I just eat somewhere else.
But allergies are serious whether you'd die from them or not, the fact that I won't die from mine doesn't mean that I don't avoid my allergies like the plague. My reactions are real, and they're painful.
If it's a minor reaction, I suffer for a few hours with stomach cramps and nausea, but if it's big enough, I could be out of commission for several days because of how sick I get. Hell, even the smell of my allergies can make me nauseous and give me headaches.
It just kind of bugs me when people that have known me for a long time, and this is pointedly at my parents who have seen my intense reactions firsthand, act like my reactions to having my allergies being cooked around me is overreacting. I'm not overreacting when I get headaches and nausea from someone microwaving leftovers that have copious amounts of nuts or soy, I'm not overreacting when I refuse to eat around them while they eat their dinners with a lot of soy or nuts because I get headaches and nausea, and I'm not overreacting when I'm upset that I have to constantly remind them of what I can and can't eat.
