I know some people think that Emily's desire to play another character instead of Fig was the reason why she was so all over the place and lost, especially in the first half of JY.

But I honestly feel like her arc was actually incredibly needed and necessary to close her character evolution in a satisfying way. (While still leaving open doors for possible future plots with the Dawn and Sandra Lynn stuff)

Fig has been struggling to find herself since the first moment. She has had to come to terms with being a completely different race than what she thought before and deal with all the consequences of that. She had to grow out of the toxic habits that were born out of her deeply rooted insecurities that finding out about her identity and lineage caused. She had to learn to be kinder to herself. I love sophomore year, it's my favorite season for so many reasons, but I feel like Fig's arc in JY was actually her best one.

Fig being so lonely at the start of the show and her innate devotion made her becoming so focused on holding others' needs over her own an inevitability. She was always aimlessly moving through life, so talented and gifted in many ways but with no real purpose outside of being the protector.

The way JY explored her struggles with introspection and her need to devote herself to others to such an extent that she ignored a curse on herself for far too long was beautiful.

Finding Ankarna, becoming a paladin of dawn and justice and coming to a point where she could let herself choose what felt right instead of what her friends needed was incredible to watch.

I feel like Junior Year gets a lot of criticism because the overall vibe from the IH was lighter and they were having a lot of fun throughout, but the story of the season was actually beautiful to me and the overall character work was so interesting.

sometimes i wish ppl who complain about ppl who hate ls!kab to be more specific about what they mean by hating her cause yeah if ppl hate her for being evil on the evil smp then thats misogynistic but if they mean ppl hating her as in ppl who keep complaining about her being ableist and infantilizing zam then i think thats a her problem personally like sorry but zam did not go through 2 and a half years of being dehumanized by both the audience and the lsers for me to tolerate that sort of thing

I think of the deleted exchange she had with lebron in SJ2, where she says “Looney is who [Bugs] is and what he does. I’m not like that.” and I mourn the executive meddling. It was supposed to be satirical, critical and maybe even a lil more cynical and all Looney… but too many mandated rewrites left a sour taste in my mouth, especially when it comes to Lola. She doesn’t really have a place in the world of LT outside of being Bugs’ arm candy and “Basketball”…..Sj2 coulda had that conversation. poor gal

Nesta is groomed to be a lady all her life. She has the emotional range to keep up with Elain and make friends with the townspeople. She charms a grown man into asking her hand in marriage purely out of spite. She convinces a bunch of highly volatile fae into helping humans they don't give a shit about. She makes friends where none of the IC ever made. But Nesta is the one with poor social skills whom people run away from because of her harsh tongue.

Feyre can't have a decent conversation with her family. She doesn't have friends in the town because she looked down on them. The only person she talks to is the one she uses for sex. She spends her time on nothing but painting and hunting. But she is an absolute doll who charms fae men left and right? Feyre should be awkward af since she's emotionally stunted and has zero skills with people. She should be picking fights with HLs because of the bullshit that comes out of her mouth. She should be struggling to find the right words since she's never empathised with anyone and drowning in trauma. Rhysand's first lesson shouldn't be on reading and writing. It should be on how to talk to people. He should be handling the diplomatic situations while Feyre is the rabid beast foaming at the mouth he has on a leash(not that she isn't right now but it should be more obvious).

I will keep randomly seeing hate/criticism about Harding like "why is she here???" "they're shoving her down our throats" and. I'm sorry. I know it's been ten years but Lace Harding was a well-received and beloved NPC in Inquisition. Most people clocked her as a potential companion for "DA4" immediately. She basically becomes the Spymaster's right hand. She was in the final scene of Trespasser when your Inquisitor stabs the map. The writing was on the wall its not her fault you either forgot or ignored it.

ughhhhh so probably the tgcf scene i think the most about is in the final battle when hua cheng is holding xie lian and backwards gripping eming with his other hand i . god. this is referenced off of The Fallen Angel by Alexandre Cabanel (i’m pretty sure everyone has seen it by this point) which is surprisingly pretty topical for tgcf.
