we've seen in both his death scenes (the one yuji intervened and the one he was too late) that nanami couldn’t quite put why he came back to work as a sorcerer even tho it's pretty damn clear he wants to change things. both jobs suck because capitalism only works by ensuring the poor will turn poorest, but one of them doesn’t make him ashamed of himself. in only one of those two awful jobs he would be missed if he was gone. and he was gone, and he was missed. nanami couldn’t intervene against deadly threats like kenjaku and sukuna, but it was fine. it was yuji's turn after all.

there is a certain insanity that makes people decide to become sorcerers. having an innate technique isn't enough, they have to want to work in such a cruel field and more than that they need to not have anyone willing to do anything to stop them from doing so.

miwa and nobara are, from the younger cast, the only ones with mundane reasons. one wants to help her family, the other would rather die than staying on the same fucked up town. it's clear miwa has a great relationship with her family, and clear nobara hasn't.

which makes me think of nanami, the most normal sorcerer from the older cast. the only sorcerer of his family, putting his life and innocence in danger when he was still a student. if you have a family that will have your back (like nobara hasn't) you don't do that. if you have a good socioeconomical situation (like miwa hasn't) you don't do that. for me, it's clear nanami lacks both of them.

not only i think he used to live dangerously closer to the line of poverty during his youth, i also think someone with at least a bit of care or love for their own family would judge suguru for killing his parents. but nanami couldn't care.

That scene in s9 is probably one of my favorite Jay moments because of how well it shows why Wu chose him and what his role is in the team. Being the out-of-the-box thinker, the dreamer. Especially because of how it sets him apart from the rest, like Zane, Cole or Kai, whose purposes are to protect others while Jay inspires people (s6 and s12)

Phantasm crashed into the side of a building, the rest of his team- the TeenTitans- stayed back. They were otherwise occupied, with the rest of the H.I.V.E. five attacking them.

They'd gotten a new member, one with a similar, nearly identical power set of their own new member.

Phantom.

Phantasm and Phantom, two mirror look alikes, they went absolutely feral whenever one was in sight. It was driving Robin mad, Beast Boy had joked about cloning but after they started to actually consider that option.

"Well, well, well." Phantom mocks, glowing green to Phantasm's red.

"Shut. The fuck. Up." Phantasm charges again, throwing the other into windows with a growl.

They kept bickering, hitting and injuring each other, until—

"Stop being so annoying!" Phantasm shouts, baring his fangs. Phantom, in return, stuck his tongue out.

"You're just jealous I got the Villain role!!"

At this point, their respective teams had called a draw and watched them fighting.

"You're a lousy villain!"

"I'm having the time of my life beating the shit out of you actually."

"I'm calling jazz."

At that, Phantom starts glaring. "I thought we agreed on not bringing this up to our sister?"

I enjoy the implication in Origins that Zevran isn't a very good fighter when we meet him and then after Origins he was utterly terrorizing the Crows. All the levels he gained in the Warden's party actually made him a canonically, significantly more dangerous fighter than he was when the Warden met him.

Evan - has a steady growth, ends up at a respectable 178 cm. For a Tildrum though, this is actually quite short.

Tani - grows taller faster, before (unfortunately) stopping at 165 cm. She was much taller than Evan at one point.

Mylas - I hc that merfolk are generally tall bc they're predisposed to have long limbs so therefore i think mylas would be tall. He ends up at 185 cm.

Filippos - had a late growth spurt. He was getting a little worried about his height bc he wanted to be at least taller than Evan. He at the very least ends up at 179 cm.

Chip - he's just plain short. It doesn't help that his posture is also bad. He dgaf until someone else brings it up. Ends up at 162 cm.

Lili - also short. And petite. Her diminutive stature occasionally gives her trouble but at least it doesn't stop her from being taken seriously (she's scary). Ends up at 154 cm.

Hoi Den - had an early growth spurt, but she didn't stop growing afterwards. Filippos looked to her for advice on how to get taller. Ends up at 176 cm.

Muriel - another short queen. Some say its because of her literal heavy lifting at a young age is what disrupted her growth. She doesn't mind, most of the time. Ends up at 150 cm.

Speio - she had a one and done growth spurt in the middle of her teens. She really hope she'd be at least 175 like Callianera but she stops just short. She ends up at 172 cm.

who is cleric!gorgug the cleric of??

he starts out as a cleric of a (right now unnamed) nascent god of tranquility! or at least that's what the anger management support group guys told him. sadly that then turns out to be a cult recruitment ground and they're actually building the god by feeding it their emotions. I'm not super sure how that'll play out in full yet by the end of freshman year but gorgug does leave the cult when they drop an ultimatum on him.

most of sophomore year has him like. can I? try out deities? and finding out that even when people say yes what they mean by action is they try to compel him to stay and they get miffed that he doesn't stay because he doesn't feel like he fits. when the bad kids uncorrupt cassandra though he's the one who hears how they're also not sure of who they are outside of the deep grief and fear of the nightmare king, and tells them it's okay to take your time for a little bit while figuring it out, and cassandra through that becomes the god of the inbetween. gorgug offers her domain as a stop outside of a faith if you want to leave but need the structure or the support, and he makes a point to never proselytize. this of course is kind of the crux of junior year's arc for him because that doesn't do wonders number-wise lol
