Viago de Riva and his fantasy spreadsheets probably pioneered this school of thought, actually. Say that approximately twelve-plus other (known) houses are spending anywhere from 24 to 80 gold on about 10-20 new fledglings per year, maybe a third of which survive adolescence and 8% of which become successful assassins (baseline: complete their first Crow mission and at least 3 more for their house before burning out and/or dying).
