Assassins Tony Stark and Peter Parker were the best in their field. Yet they were bitter rivals, each wanting to be the best yet the other was always in the way. And that's how it would have seemed to stay. That was until they were sent to kill each other. It should have been just a fight, difficult true, but just a fight. But soon fists and weapons turned to kisses and caresses. Soon the pair realised it's much more fun for the pair to work together than apart. And their first joint hit, those who sent them against the other.

the tragedy of Jason Todd
There's something so heart-rendering about Jason confronting Bruce. He died. His funeral service was closed casket because his body had been so severely brutalized. His brother wasn’t even on the planet when they lowered him six feet down. They buried him and moved on.
He dug himself out, breaking open his own casket with a belt buckle. He shredded the skin off his fingers and splintered his bones, choked on dirt and worms, almost suffocated without oxygen. He wandered the city begging for his dad.
When Jason came to after the Pit, Talia told him his father replaced him and let the Joker live. He makes his way back to his city, but he has a passenger riding around in his brain. There is a thirst for blood and vengeance that blurs his vision. He needs to be good, fix things, and prove himself all over again. Jason is half insane, but he still needs to help people.  He needs Bruce.
He catches the monster that killed him, stands him in front of his dad, and says, 'my killer or me.' He clawed his way out of his grave, fought the Gauntlet in Nanda Parbat, and battled the Lazarus Pit eating at his soul, all to beg his dad to love him.
Jason does all of that, all for Bruce to slice his throat.

Red Robin Au where after Battle for the Cowl, Jason (instead of donning that ridiculous pill helmet) goes back to visit Talia and blow off some steam with the LOA; it's an effective way to do so at first, as long as he keeps Ra's at arms length and has all the Bats away from him. Except is that Timothy fucking Drake working with Ra's al Ghul.
So now Jason's like oh my god are you kidding me why is Tim here working with Ra's of all people??? Last he checked, Dick was Batman now and Tim was part of that gaggle of Robins in Gotham. Not here, in Nanda Parbat.
Tim, fresh from a splenectomy: Jason?!
Jason: What the fuck are you doing here?
Tim: ??? I could ask you the same question??
Jason: No the fuck you couldn't?? I trained with Talia and now I'm back here for a bit, and I'm not the one missing an organ right now?! Why aren't you back with Dickbat in Gotham??
Tim: Well. Let's say I'm not Robin anymore
Jason: ... Not... Robin?
Tim, scowling: Dick gave it to Damian.
Jason: Dick is Batman for like a month and already gave the traffic light leggings to a mini assassin? Nice.
Tim: Ugh
Jason: And... this was enough reason to run away and get impaled by assassins in Iraq? While working with Ra's al Ghul?
Tim: Well, not really. I need to find Bruce, and Ra's is the only one who will help me. Even if he's a freak of nature.
Jason: Bruce... are we talkin' about another Bruce or did I miss a memo? Bruce is dead, Timbo.
Tim: He's not. He's trapped in the timestream and trying to get back. And don't- don't tell me I'm going insane with grief or in denial. Laugh all you want, then leave. I don't need this shit again.
Jason: Trapped in time? Damn motherfucker can't even stay dead?
Tim: ... You believe me?
Jason: Sure. Not the craziest shit we've seen. I have a feeling you wouldn't go as far as Ra's if you were actually going off nothing. (mumbling) stealing my schtick. What a bastard.
Tim, blinking: Wow. That... just wow. That was easy. Dick thought I was losing it with grief and so has everyone else.
Jason, shrugging: B is definitely stubborn enough to get lost in time instead of dying and, frankly, I know what being off yer rocker looks like, and this ain't it. I climbed out of my grave, for god's sake, is time shit really off the table? Wouldn't hurt t'look if the old man's still kickin'.
Tim: Uh-
Jason: First stop: away from Ra's, preferably. Talia's not bad, but Ra's is a whole other can of worms. Get up or I drag you.

DC needs to release a story expanding upon Truth & Justice #12.
They can't just drop a bomb like "Talia orchestrated the murder of Jason's old friend because she wants Jason to be the next Ra's" and not follow up on it.

Rest in Peace, John Fitzgerald Kennedy. May 29th, 1917 - November 22nd, 1963. “Now, I think that I should have known that he was magic all along. I did know it— but I should have guessed it could not last. I should have known that it was asking too much to dream that I might have grown old with him and see our children grow up together. So, now he is a legend, when he would have preferred to be a man. I must believe that he does not share our suffering now. At least he will never know whatever sadness might have lain ahead. He knew such a share of it in his life that it always made you so happy whenever you saw him enjoying himself. But now he will never know more — not age, nor stagnation, nor despair, nor crippling illness, nor loss of any more people he loved. His high noon kept all the freshness of the morning, and he died then, never knowing disillusionment.” - Jacqueline Lee Bouvier Kennedy Onassis.

Zack Beauchamp at Vox:
I met Sen. J.D. Vance (R-OH), Donald Trump’s new choice for vice president, in the summer of 2022. I was covering a conservative conference in Israel, and Vance was the surprise VIP attraction. We chatted for a bit about the connections between right-wing movements across the world, and what American conservatives could learn from foreign peers. He was friendly, thoughtful, and smart — much smarter than the average politician I’ve interviewed. Yet his worldview is fundamentally incompatible with the basic principles of American democracy.
Vance has said that, had he been vice president in 2020, he would have carried out Trump’s scheme for the vice president to overturn the election results. He has fundraised for January 6 rioters. He once called on the Justice Department to open a criminal investigation into a Washington Post columnist who penned a critical piece about Trump. After last week’s assassination attempt on Trump, he attempted to whitewash his radicalism by blaming the shooting on Democrats’ rhetoric about democracy without an iota of evidence. This worldview translates into a very aggressive agenda for a second Trump presidency. In a podcast interview, Vance said that Trump should “fire every single mid-level bureaucrat” in the US government and “replace them with our people.” If the courts attempt to stop this, Vance says, Trump should simply ignore the law. “You stand before the country, like Andrew Jackson did, and say the chief justice has made his ruling, now let him enforce it,” he declares.
The President Jackson quote is likely apocryphal, but the history is real. Vance is referring to an 1832 case, Worcester v. Georgia, in which the Supreme Court ruled that the US government needed to respect Native legal rights to land ownership. Jackson ignored the ruling, and continued a policy of allowing whites to take what belonged to Natives. The end result was the ethnic cleansing of about 60,000 Natives — an event we now call the Trail of Tears. For most Americans, this history is a deep source of shame: an authoritarian president trampling on the rule of law to commit atrocities. For Vance, it is a well of inspiration. J.D. Vance is a man who believes that the current government is so corrupt that radical, even authoritarian steps, are justified in response. He sees himself as the avatar of America’s virtuous people, whose political enemies are interlopers scarcely worthy of respect. He is a man of the law who believes the president is above it.
[...] The Vance of Hillbilly Elegy was very different politically. Back then, he took a conventional conservative line on poverty, describing the working class as beset by a cultural pathology encouraged by federal handouts and the welfare state. 2016 Vance was also an ardent Trump foe. He wrote a New York Times op-ed titled “Mr. Trump Is Unfit For Our Nation’s Highest Office,” and wrote a text to his law school roommate warning that Trump might be “America’s Hitler.” Eight years later, Vance has metamorphosed into something else entirely. Today, he pitches himself as an economic populist and cosponsors legislation with Sen. Elizabeth Warren curtailing pay for failed bankers. In an even more extreme shift, he has morphed into one of Trump’s leading champions in the Senate — backing the former president to the hilt and even, at times, outpacing him in anti-democratic fervor.
[...] And it is clear that Vance is deeply ensconced in the GOP’s growing “national conservative” faction, which pairs an inconsistent economic populism with an authoritarian commitment to crushing liberals in the culture war. Vance has cited Curtis Yarvin, a Silicon Valley monarchist blogger, as the source of his ideas about firing bureaucrats and defying the Supreme Court. His Senate campaign was funded by Vance’s former employer, Peter Thiel, a billionaire who once wrote that “I no longer believe that freedom and democracy are compatible.” He’s a big fan of Patrick Deneen, a Notre Dame professor who recently wrote a book calling for “regime change” in America. Vance spoke at an event for Deneen’s book in Washington, describing himself as a member of the “postliberal right” who sees his job in Congress as taking an “explicitly anti-regime” stance.
Vance is also an open admirer of Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, a right-wing politician who has systematically torn his country’s democracy apart. Vance praised Orbán’s approach to higher education in particular, saying he “made some smart decisions there that we could learn from in the United States.” The policies in question involve using national dollars to impose state controls over universities, turning them into vehicles for disseminating the government line.
Donald Trump's pick of J.D. Vance to be his ticketmate is about doubling down on MAGA authoritarianism and the "postliberal" worldview.

Tony had planned this day meticulously. It was the annual meet up of the heads of New York's families, And it was to be the day all of them came under the Stark family's rule. He had carefully managed to place all the other's heirs and successors under his control. Either by way of bribery or force. All that was left was to take out those blocking their path to the top. It wouldn't be too hard a task as even the other head's guards were (mostly) now under Tony's sway and wouldn't respond to cries of alarm. But it could still be difficult as no one was to be allowed guards or weapons in the meeting room itself. Sure he knew the others had no doubt hidden weapons on their person, as would he, but those weren't the sort that could defend against a dedicated gunman. They were the sort to hold one off until the guards could enter. Guards either under Tony's power or ones who would be dealt with by them. That's why he chose Peter for the task. Every other boss at the meeting only saw a piece of arm candy, a wife at most, when they looked at Peter and so wouldn't note him as a threat. What they didn't see was his other role in the Stark family. Oh they were lovers that much was true but was Peter so much more. He was Tony's personal assassin. And the perfect person to do the actual killing. After all no one thinks to frisk the sugar baby for a gun do they. Their hubris and dismissal of Peter would be their downfall and Tony would reap countless rewards from it. Rewards he would share with his lover of course. He wouldn't be making their mistake not now or ever.

Following the shooting, prominent antisemitic internet personalities quickly claimed that the Jews and Israel were involved.
Jon Minadeo, the founder and leader of the Goyim Defense League (GDL) — a a neo-Nazi and white supremacist group — hosted a live audio “Spaces” conversation on X/Twitter titled “”The Jews Try to Assassinate Trump!” in which he blamed the Jews for the assassination attempt, according to the Anti-Defamation League (ADL).
Conspiracy theorists continued to push the narrative throughout the weekend that the Jews and Israel were responsible for the attempted assassination.
Stew Peters, an alt-right internet personality, responded to a post on X/Twitter questioning why police who were notified of a suspicious character on a roof adjacent to Trump failed to react. “The Israeli-based, American War Machine is responsible for the attempted coup on Saturday,” he wrote. “This was NOT a ‘lone wolf’ scenario as the Israeli-funded ‘media’ would LOVE for you to believe.”
Conspiracy theorists also claimed that the assassination attempt was a plot to remove Trump as the de facto Republican presidential nominee and instead replace him with someone more pro-Israel.
In another X/Twitter Spaces meet-up following the shooting, notable internet provocateurs including Nick Fuentes, Andrew Tate, and Mario Nawful, accused Israel of targeting Trump.
“The [Israelis] tried to discard Trump … it was an attempt to throw him out of there,” said Fuentes, a white supremacist and Holocaust denier.

I really want to see Jason use chemistry as a weapon more, it's something I loved about The Dark Bite (from DC's Ghouls Just Wanna Have Fun.)
It's a really cool and underrated form of weaponry for him, a great reminder of his intelligence and league training.
