Members of the Kennedy Family at a memorial mass dedicated to the late President JFK who had been assassinated three months earlier. Circa, January 19th, 1964. Gifs made by me. Footage is from an archive.
“I don’t remember it as a sad occasion. I remember it being rather joyful because of all the people who came because they loved Jack and they wanted to be a part of the Mass,” - Joan.

Hey Kennedy fandom!
This fandom has changed a lot in the past few years. I would like to get to know some new Kennedy blogs.
If you want to, please reblog this post and tell us: 1) your first name 2) your age and 3) your location. You can also tell everyone who is your fave Kennedy :)
I'll start:
I'm Stephanie, I'm 34, from Montreal, QC, Canada.
My favorite is obviously Joan.
Please reblog, looking forward to see your answers!

Ted and Joan Kennedy with their daughter Kara at a park in Boston, 1961.
"Joan gave birth to Kara Ann Kennedy on February 27, 1960. I had never seen a more beautiful baby, nor been happier in my life. Kara's name means "little dear one," and she was then and always has been my precious little dear one." - Ted Kennedy

Note
I would've been a better wife to Joan than Ted a husband to her. She deserves affection and praise (which Ted to my knowledge never gave her). She's ✨️perfect✨️

Joan and Bobby campaigning together. Circa, 1968.
When he was alive, JFK never lost a chance to compliment Joan on how well voters responded to her when she stepped in for Jackie (who was pregnant much of the time) during his 1960 Presidential campaign. When Ted was in a plane crash and couldn’t campaign for re-election in 1964, Joan did it for him and was just as fantastic on the stump for her husband as she had been with Jack. So, having Joan stump for him as well was huge for Bobby’s campaign. - Camelot: Once There Was A Spot

“All this pent up emotion in the Kennedy circle (not to mention the hundreds of thousands of letters of condolence that flooded into the office designated for Jackie in the executive office building) focused on the thirty four year old widow. It induced an abnormal atmosphere of suppressed hysteria, emotion, catatonic grief that marked Jackie for life. Even in her private life she became someone extraordinary, touched by fate and celebrity. No one would would ever be able to react normally to her again; nor would she ever, however hard she tried- and she did try- be able to escape her golden cage.”
- Sarah Bradford, excerpt from the biography “America’s Queen”
