Okay, fellow amateur internet detectives, this is so random but… anyone who read Kate Mulgrew’s memoirs knows that her mother Joan attended school with, and became a lifelong friend of, Jean Kennedy Smith, spending many vacations at the family compound, and was even JFK’s personal secretary in the early days of his political career before she married Kate’s father.
Look at the above photo. Is it just me or is the woman on the right Kate’s mother?? The article is from Town and Country and lists her as an ‘Unidentified Woman’.
What do you think??

“It has been said, 'time heals all wounds.' I do not agree. The wounds remain. In time, the mind, protecting its sanity, covers them with scar tissue and the pain lessens. But it is never gone."

Congressman Jack Kennedy with his sisters Eunice, Patricia, Jean, and mother Rose at a "Kennedy Tea" event during his 1952 senatorial campaign.
Kennedy tea parties were held for female voters in order to meet and be charmed by members of the Kennedy family. They would ultimately give Jack the edge by winning over more female voters than his opponent, Republican nominee Henry Cabot Lodge.
After Lodge conceded his defeat, he blamed it on "those damn tea parties".

On September 16, 1960, shortly before John F. Kennedy defeated Richard Nixon for the U.S. Presidency, the Chicago Tribune pictures Mary Bowe at home in her apartment at 1120 Lake Shore Drive. She has just served the group dinner. At the 4B living room piano is Joan Bennett Kennedy, married to the President’s brother Edward. Also present is another of the soon-to-be President’s sisters-in-law, Ethel Skakel Kennedy, married to his brother Bobby. Also with Mary Bowe is Lorraine Richardson Green, wife of Judge Wendall Green, Illinois’s first African American circuit court judge, and Ms. Helen Touhy.
