Commentary on "LOST" (4.08) "Meet Kevin Johnson

The level of hypocrisy featured in the "LOST" Season Four episode, "Meet Kevin Johnson", struck me as truly amazing.  

First, there were Ben and Tom, exploiting Michael's guilt for killing Ana-Lucia and Libby in order to recruit him.  Every time Michael brought up Walt's kidnapping, both men had failed to express any remorse for it.  Tom had responded to Michael's accusation by gaslighting the latter over Ana-Lucia and Libby's deaths.  I guess exploiting Michael's guilt was more important to him than acknowledging his own over the kidnapping.  I suspect that recruiting Michael to serve as Ben's spy would have been easier for Tom if he had acknowledged the kidnapping and expressed remorse for it, off the bat.  

Ben did the same.   He ended up committing a major mind fuck by ordering Tom to instruct Michael to kill the Kahana crew.  And Ben also provided a package - a bomb - to Michael.  Upon meeting Martin Keamy and his mercenaries, Michael programmed the bomb to set it off.  The bomb proved to be fake.  Apparently, Ben wanted to prove to Michael that he was a good guy and incapable of killing others.  I found this rich, considering at this point, Ben already had his father's blood on his hands and God only knows how many others.  And why on earth did he order Tom to instruct Michael to kill the Kahana crew in the first place?  Why deliver a bomb - namely a fake one - to Michael?  What made this whole situation so ironic is that in the end, Ben (with Keamy's help) proved to be the one who killed the remaining Kahana crew, along with Michael, when he killed Keamy inside the island's Orchid Station.  Hell, it took Ben six years to express any remorse over Walt's kidnapping.

Then, there were Sawyer and Sayid.  Both men had condemned Michael for his actions in late Season Two, when they discovered he was among the Kahana crew.  Sawyer accused Michael of killing Libby and Ana-Lucia in order to free Ben and get off the island.  Period.  After discovering that Michael was working on Ben's behalf, Sayid condemned Michael for being a traitor to the Oceanic castaways, when he led Jack, Hurley, Kate and Sawyer into a trap set by the Others.  Sayid even turned Michael over to the freighter's captain.

Not once did Sawyer or Sayid mention Walt.  Not . . . fucking . . . once.  I found it odd that Sawyer  had forgotten that Michael's actions had stemmed from his desire to get Walt out of the Others' clutches.  I find this odd, considering he called himself killing Tom in retaliation for Walt's kidnapping.  Then again, Sawyer never went after Ben for the kidnapping.  As for Sayid, he had witnessed Naomi's lies, Daniel's lies, Miles' hostility on the island.  Aboard the Kahana, Sayid met the crew, Captain Gault and other crewmen engaged in strange behavior.  He also met Keamy and his fellow mercenaries aboard the Kahana.  This should have made Sayid more leery of the Kahana crew.  Instead, he became outraged over Michael working for Ben and exposed his fellow Oceanic castaway to the Kahana's captain.  He accused Michael of not only working for Ben, but also for being a traitor to his fellow castaways.  And NOT ONCE did Sayid mention Walt or the kidnapping.

As I had stated earlier "Meet Kevin Johnson" reeked with hypocrisy from the likes of Ben, Tom, Sawyer and Sayid.  Now that I think about it, even Michael had his own hypocritical moment when he accused Ben of being responsible for Ana-Lucia and Libby's deaths. I don't know if all this hypocrisy could be viewed as questionable writing on the screenwriters' part, or deliberate. I hope it's the latter.

In the "LOST" Season Four episode called "Meet Kevin Johnson", former Others leader Ben Linus revealed the identity of his spy aboard Charles Widmore's freighter, the S.S. Kahana:

Ben Linus: My spy on the freighter is Michael.

James 'Sawyer' Ford: I'm sorry. You mean the same guy that killed two women in cold blood to set this little bastard free, and then sold all of us out so he could get off the island? That Michael?

What a hypocritical bastard! And yes, I'm referring to Sawyer. In the Season Three finale, he had murdered Tom Friendly in cold blood, claiming that he did it in revenge for Walt's kidnapping. Yet in this episode, "Meet Kevin Johnson", his dumb ass couldn't remember that Michael had committed his crime in order to rescue Walt from the Others. I don't know if Sawyer was dumb or just a hypocrite. Now that I think about it, I think he had lied about killing Tom for Walt's kidnapping. Aside from that moment on raft, before one of the Others (who was not Tom) had shot him, Sawyer never gave a rat's ass about Walt. Either he didn't like children, Cuse and LIndelof didn't like children, or Walt had the wrong skin color.

Friendly reminder that DC and Dickbabs writers are gaslighting you into thinking Dickbabs are childhood sweethearts that are always in love with each other since day 1.

Here is Original Barbara Gordon working as a congresswoman in the Senate when Dick was just the little kid Robin.

She was much closer to Bruce and Clark's age than Dick's.

Barbara refers to Dick as a "kid" and "little brother.

Dick had a small puppy crush on her but it was seen as a precocious crush. It was controversial when they first kiss (to make Dick shut up) because it involved a grown ass woman kissing a teenager.

Dickbabs was hated the same way modern Brucebabs is hated today.

Even the writer of that book admitted he never intended for them to become a couple.

Babs was more into older guys.

- she was viewed as an equal love interest to Batman

- she went out on a date with Superman

- then got engaged to her coworker Jason Bard.

Dickbabs shippers always try to deny that Babs was deaged and her history was altered for dickbabs in an effort to defend their ship.

They say it's not true because according to them Babs has been deaged before dickbabs became a couple.

Here's the thing though:

Babs has been deaged twice.

Just because she wasn't deaged to be with Dick in her 1st deaging doesn't change the fact that she was deaged to be the same age as him in her 2nd deaging which happened in dickbabs content.

The 1st time she was deaged was in Crisis on Infinite Earths, it was so Jim could be younger but they only decreased her age slightly because she's still written as older than Dick, here is a panel from Secret Origins #20 that was published in 1986 exactly 1 year after she was first deaged in Crisis on infinite earths (1985) she said Dick is too young for her and that batman is always the one on her mind. So Dickbabs during this time still couldn't work because they still have that age gap and Babs was still into Bruce.

The 2nd time she was deaged is in dickbabs comics and tv shows where she was finally made the same age as Dick so dickbabs can finally work as romantic pairing.

Instead of being older she's now written as a part of Dick's generation.

From a congresswoman to someone who went to highschool prom with Dick.

Even Tom Taylor had the two first met when they were young little kids so he can also portray them as childhood sweethearts in his run.

Tom Taylor claims Barbara still has a law degree but isn't it sad how instead of using that degree to find an actual job, she wasted her time following Dick around like a dog in Bludhaven ?

She has no job of her own, no friends of her own, no hobbies of her own outside of Dick.

She's just Dick's clingy lovesick girlfriend who is a total standby for him in his solo books.

Dickbabs shippers who deny this and get mad at people who point this out are the people who don't care about Barbara Gordon as an individual.

They don't care that Barbara lost her PHD degree, lost her own career, lost her own agency, lost her history, lost her self identity for the sake of shipping.

Their only concern is defending dickbabs and making it look better.

Because if they like Barbara separately from Dick, all these valid anti-dickbabs criticisms wouldn't bother them.

What's even funnier is that they are the very same people who accuse Starfire of being nothing but just Dick's love interest despite the fact that Starfire hasn't been in a relationship with Dick in the comics for 20+ years due to the fact that dickkory's history was ignored and erased in favor of dickbabs. NASTY HYPOCRITES.

At least Starfire wasn't deaged to fit Dick and you can never see Starfire following Dick around like a dog in his solo books 💀

Tom was raised in a Religious Orphanage in the 30s and 40s. He was not treated nicely by anyone. Of course he would be vindictive and hate Non-Magicals.

Dumbledore on the other hand decided that an eleven-year-old was the anti-Christ and treated him like he was already a mass-murderer.

Tom was in the Orphanage in London when the bombs fell. Of course he would be terrified of dying. He was abandoned by his only living relatives. Of course he’d wish them dead.

Dumbledore looked at a child and saw a demon. If he had seen a child, Voldemort would never have existed.

Give me arguments if you disagree.

The Sonic Movie 3 trailer came out and it is awesome!

I know it came out a week or so ago and I might be late into talking about it but rest assured I watched it 30 minutes after it came out.

I decided to start talking about it now because I want to put in my two cents about a certain topic.

At some point in the trailer we get this image of Tom:

He’s screaming “Sonic!!” and then it immediately flashes to this image of Shadow:

There is also this interaction with Sonic and Shadow:

“What did you do?”

“What I had to.”

First of all, f🤬cking aura Shadow, holy sh💩t. That “what I had to” sent shivers to me timbers.

Second of all, why I’m making this post:

This has led people to believe that Shadow might harm Tom in some way or even killing him.

And I don’t think that is true.

Do I think that they might tussle around? Yeah. Do I think Shadow will straight up assassinate him? Hell no!

Now, I have seen people believe it and draw it but more as like a “this is a cool alternative but I don’t actually think it would happen”, but then there are others who genuinely believe that Shadow is going to kill Tom.

While there is nothing wrong with believing that, it raises a problem for Shadow’s overall character.

We all know Shadow is just misunderstood. Especially from Sonic, Knuckles, and Tails. Keep in mind that they are working with the very people that killed Maria—a little girl, Shadow’s best friend, and they have no idea 😀

I feel like if Sonic finds out about it, then there will definitely be conversations yet to happen, and not very friendly ones.

I kinda think this might be an image of Sonic looking around the Ark. Maybe this is when he finds out? However, that is not something I can really prove:

One thing I will say: even though if we were in Shadow’s position and we might try to kill humanity too, I think we should all acknowledge that even though we can understand him it doesn’t mean we should agree with the path he has walked down on.

Anyway, Shadow = misunderstood. Got it. That is all a story for another time, I’m still here for something else.

I think we can all agree that Shadow has been through a lot, and I think some of the games do him justice for the way he makes up for his actions; finding out who is he is and honoring Maria’s wish, sacrificing himself and falling down to earth, going against Black Doom’s wishes, fighting Memphis, saving Sonic (multiple times), him and Team Dark, the Archie comics, and more.

We’re gonna ignore the Boom!Shadow for this one boys. He’s irrelevant. (lol)

While Shadow and Sonic aren’t friends or enemies, they’re by each others side to do the right thing. All Shadow wanted to do was the right thing and at the time he believed it was killing humanity.

I think what I’m trying to say is that Shadow has done some villainy sh💩t under the influence of what people showed him back to the accident of the Ark. However, he is not a bad guy and he doesn’t deserve to be the bad guy.

If they do this, if Shadow kills Tom, he will be an irredeemable monster to Sonic and even to me, and Shadow doesn’t deserve that treatment.

I don’t want to look at Movie!Shadow knowing that he killed an amazing character and the father to Sonic.

I also want to say, that when Sonic is talking to Shadow and asks him what he did, he sounds mad but he doesn’t sound mad enough to the point of Tom’s death kind of mad. Sonic would be f🤬cking furious. He would fr say “screw the power of friendship I’m about to END this B🐶TCH”.

I can’t say for certain that Tom isn’t going to die, but I really don’t think and want to believe that Shadow is going to be the one to kill Tom.

Like I said before, it’s tragic for what happened to him but we shouldn’t justify the path he’s walking on. Killing Tom is no excuse either.

I just don’t want to be disappointed. I have been looking forward for this movie for too long. I really just want Shadow to be the sweet little anti-hero he truly is.

While I’m here, I wanna circle back around to Tom screaming Sonic’s name. First of all, Tom is in a G.U.N uniform. Either he’s going in disguise or maybe the commander guy whose name I don’t care to remember gave him a position in the G.U.N forces.

In the first Sonic Movie, Maddie did say that there has been a Wachowski serving and protecting for 50 years. The same amount of time Shadow was in a coma. Maybe the commander recognizes Tom’s last name and offers him a position.

Maybe Sonic and co. find out about what they did to Maria and the Ark, and when confronting G.U.N, G.U.N decides to turn on them. Maybe that’s why Tom was screaming Sonic’s name, because he was about to get hurt. Remember, even though Sonic saved the world in the 1st movie, in the 2nd movie G.U.N still believed they would be a threat. Maybe G.U.N is using them in hopes they won’t find out about what happened 50 years ago. They’d be perfect against Shadow, they’re the same species! (Kinda…)

If G.U.N can’t defeat Shadow, maybe another powerful being can.

Anyway, those were my two cents.

Don’t take this post too personally please, if you wanna believe Shadow kills Tom, then by all means go off! I just wanted to show my perspective of things and how I see Shadow as a person.

Remember, opinions are opinions and we shouldn’t devalue anyone’s just because we don’t agree.

Hot take or whatever but I don't think we should trust a guy who gets really distracted by squirrels and balls and a kitten who could easily get hurt to protect our city. Lightning Dude IS one of the better options as they ARE a highly durable and strong robot, but The Bark Knight and Cat Kid maybe aren't our best bets, they could get hurt easily and aren't exactly professionals.

Don't get me started on the Friendly Friends, I don't think we can trust two guys who JUST left the same exact trio that was responsible for that marshmallow factory's destruction (which left many injured, some DEAD), what if they're pretending? Also the bugs could easily get killed, they're small and fragile, the most work they can do without a high risk of getting smashed is spying on villains.

Commander Cupcake's a different story, as I'm pretty sure that guy only helped out, like, 3 times.

Meet the BLU team!

I figured I should make this so everything is a little more easier to understand when it comes to Blu such as personality and behavior, also its some lore insight.

Blu Soldier the Leader of Blu team, Strong, Durable, and actually has a brain unlike his red counterpart, when not on the battlefield he regularly disappears here and there, no one knows where he go's, he's quite dopy when it comes to social interactions, but he his very very loyal, a trait that is seen with red soldier.

Blu Demo is the complete opposite of Red Demo, he doesn't drink, he doesn't have wisdom or honor, and he doesn't play with swords, he carries sticks of dynamite and takes his role in Blu very seriously, he's a rule fallower and doesn't take kindly to his team relaxing or mucking about, don't piss him off, due to this aggressive personality he has become second in command by default.

Blu Medic, is also the opposite of his Red counterpart, While Red Medic is frolicking in the battlefield as blood is spilt or experimenting on his team with animal organs and playing god, Blu Medic is quite, calculated, and flexible, he can be seen in the background using actual medicine on his team, he is quite aware of his surroundings and is by far the smartest of his team, and has a moral compass that's somehow intact, he is quite anti social and slightly temperamental when it comes to carelessness, he has fallowed the Hippocratic oath to the finest detail, though due to this passive nature he cannot defend himself and is a easy target without his team, the closet to a friend he has is Blu Engineer and Blu Soldier, though he sees there friendship as buissnes oriented

Blu Sniper, A great hunter and Surprise ambusher, but despite that he is very unprofessional when it comes to his job, he loves the thrill of the hunt, and has quick reflexes but in personality...he is quite brain dead, he cant read a map, awful with directions, can get winey when he doesn't want to do something, clumsy, and has little in common with his Red counterpart, he also has the need to upstage Red Sniper in every way.

Blu Spy, A slippery, Sneaky, little snitch, While Red spy is collected and straight faced, Blu Spy takes great pleasure in mockery and humiliating his targets, he is by definition a Sadist, and a narcissist, more narcissistic than Red Spy, everyone in his team hates him and he hates them, in his free time he stalks his team and gathers dirt on them and anything that he can use against them to blackmail them, so he can control them in order to gain more power and influence within the team, he is a backstabber and doesn't play fair, but when caught red handed he flees like a coward or a child in trouble.

Blu Pyro, he is a friendly fella, and he is quite fluent in English and speaks quite well, the most innocent one, cares about his teammates, motherly nature, worries about them, puts them all first before himself, people pleaser, hates violence, but if told he has to do it he will do it.

Blu Scout, is the only one in Blu similar to his counterpart, he just dosent have a crush on Miss Pauling or an interest in women, loudmouthed, and respectless, dosent know what a comic book is or who Tom Jones is (how dare he)

Blu Engie, as of late incredibly grumpy, no longer being pushed around, is the one pushing people around, secretive, not content, developed a rebellious personality as of late, planning something.

Blu Heavy, Simple minded, brute, always go's into hand to hand combat if given the option.

I reworked some of there personality traits and looks to make them more diverse instead of having them always being aggressive and spiteful which was there original personality traits, since originally the story was going to have a slightly more darker undertone when it came to the Blu's.

they are all clones of the Red Team, Blutarch wanted to defeat his brother so why not clone a team of mercs that are perfect and capable as Red team, to make the playing field more fair, (that and the Administrator had something to do with this)

Locke & Sawyer in "Confirmed Dead"

I recently did a rewatch of the "LOST" Season Four episode, (4.02) "Confirmed Dead". And I enjoyed it as much as I did during previous viewings. However . . . there was something about Oceanic 815 survivors John Locke and James "Sawyer" Ford that had eluded me during those past viewings.

How can I put this? There seemed to be a great deal of hypocrisy emanating from the two men. While questioning Locke's sanity in "Confirmed Dead", Sawyer had pointed out the older man's murder of Naomi Dorrit, an inhabitant from the newly arrived freighter, in the Season Three finale, (3.23) "Through the Looking Glass, Part II". And yet . . . Sawyer had recently committed two murders during late Season Three - Anthony Cooper in (3.19) "The Brig" and Other member Tom Friendly in the Season Three finale.

Later, Sawyer gave former Others leader Ben Linus a beat down after the latter had insinuated Kate Austen's preference for the Oceanic leader Jack Shephard over the con man. Then he had suggested to Locke that they "execute" - namely kill - Ben, because the latter was being a nuisance. But this wasn't the last of it.

After encountering Charlotte Lewis, another inhabitant from the freighter, Ben tried to kill her by shooting her in the chest. At that moment, Locke decided to punish Ben by killing the latter. Sawyer offered to do the job, but Locke decided he must be the one to "clean his own mess". Only Ben's revelation of his knowledge of Charlotte's background, the reason the freighter had arrived at the island and his spy aboard the freighter had saved his life.

Watching all of this unfurl made me shake my head with amazement. Locke was willing to execute Ben for attempting to do to Charlotte what he had recently done to Naomi in the Season 3 finale - namely kill someone from the freighter. As for Sawyer . . . he had punched Ben for making insidious comments about Jack and Kate. Then he wanted Ben dead for the attempt on Charlotte's life. This reminded me of his reason for murdering Tom Friendly. Sawyer had claimed he did it for 10 year-old Walt Lloyd's kidnapping in the Season One finale, (1.25) "Exodus, Part II". Yet, not once did he go after Ben for the same reason.

For years, I never understood why so many "LOST" fans had turned a blind eye to the crimes of most of the Oceanic survivors. Or made excuses for their crimes. I guess one should consider personal bias as a reason. But after my rewatch of "Confirmed Dead", I'm surprised that hardly anyone had noticed the Oceanic castaways' hypocrisy, including that from John Locke and James Ford in this episode.

i was going to say i haven't read that many n52 and onwards runs, and then i realized i have actually read most of the ones i want to, i just haven't read any batman/'tec/batgirl/or duke's runs yet. (i read like...half of We Are Robin, Joker War, and i've read batman from where zdarsky come in so like have also read Gotham War.) (might read Catwoman?? not the point.)

since we're sticking strictly to net positives, i'll include something that i like, even if i have criticisms of it, but i won't get into those criticisms so we can stay positive!! Why do you love Peter Parker? Do you think he deserves to be happy? (I want him to but no pressure, I’m just curious about what you think)

Peter Parker the light of my life, the gold in the sky and the glimmer at night, my inspiration, my gem, the ache in my heart.

I love Peter because for one he is so nerdy and sarcastic. I adore how quick-witted he is; like obviously he's a genius in physics and chemistry (and just in general), but being able to come up with funny remarks and stabbing insults while in the middle of a fight genuinely makes him so intelligent. And also when he uses his intellect IN a fight, like with Dr. Strange and geometry in the mirror dimension. Don't get me started on comic book Peter because he's created technology worth billions and at times outsmarted Tony Stark, Reed Richards, Hank Pym... he's just insane. 

I also just adore how geeky and awkward he is. He may be an insanely cool and beloved superhero but he also stutters when he talks to girls, geeks over Star Wars, and builds computers for fun. Peter Parker has superhuman reflexes but will also trip over his own feet. It's just incredibly endearing.

Personally I like Tom Holland's Peter the most because of how young and goofy he is. I want to see him be awkward, weird, shy, young, stupid. I enjoy seeing the contrast of inexperience and extreme power he possesses when in battle. It also makes the angst more delicious because that's a literal baby who's just been stabbed, crushed, beaten and bruised. 

The sheer New York of him too. Accent, attitude, proud and polite. He is a friendly neighbourhood hero! He watches out for the little guy! I feel like it's not something we see with many heroes. They usually focus on the big issues and major villains, but Peter is willing to help old ladies cross the street or prevent muggings. It's really sweet and simple. And when New York repays the favour? Top tier!!! He is the people's princess <3. I love that for him it's all worth it- every single person, citizen, problem. It's worth his time. 

Then there's his morality and self-control. One thing about Peter is that he's insanely strong and deadly. He's constantly holding himself back because he doesn't want to kill anybody. So in every fight not only is he battling the sensory overwhelm and keeping track of his enemies attacks, but he's also remembering to hold back his punches and kicks. He's vocally anti-murder and that's always been a really strong theme for him. It's what makes the moments where he does consider murder so much heavier. If a man who's constantly performing self-control and actively choosing to not do harm is pushed so far as to end a life? Terrifying. Peter chooses good over and over again; he spares the villain, sides with redemption, finds the solution- he chooses peace. I enjoy that for all the joyful, sweet, and bright energy he brings, there's this deep rageful darkness within him. The moments it shines through really remind us of how much wrath and trauma he really possesses.

In every universe Peter loses the things he loves most and still somehow keeps moving forward, finds the courage to still be Spider-Man. I think it says a lot about him that he can be beaten and broken so many times and still come out virtuous. His optimism, that hunger and responsibility for good? Just unmatched. So eager to do what's right that it ends up being his hamartia. It's actually pretty beautiful. 

And at the end of the day, Peter Parker is selfless. The hurt, loss, risks. All he does is give and give to make sure others are safe. He'll give up his own opportunities and happiness for the greater good every single time. He's an absolute sweetheart who will never pick himself. That's why I love Peter Parker.

So do I think he DESERVES happiness? UM, NOBODY DESERVES IT MORE THAN HIM. He's done so much for everyone, he's more than earned some happiness in return. He deserves to be happy and healthy for the rest of his life, to be at MIT with his best friends, in love, to have parental figures that DON'T DIE. 

Now do I WANT him to be happy... let's just say he looks really pretty in red and blue.

Who is named as "Iolanthe Dorothea Potter".

"Iolanthe" means 'violet' (a name that would fit her in a more 'modern' time) flower, a name which neatly ties with Iolanthe Peverell as an ancestor.

"Dorothea" is after Dorea Black who will be James Potter's mother in this reality. This would also help in explaining why she looks like a Black despite her last name being Potter, which would be one of the conflicts of the story: a child arrives at Hogwarts with a Potter surname, it could just be one from the American branch although they usually prefer Ilvermorny, or maybe even from one of Henry Potter's rumored liaisons, she should be; but she looks like the Head Girl's clone, quite shorter than she was at 11 but the very same face, only without the elegance.

The Premise

Usually time travel stories related to Harry have him regressing age-wise if they do not keep him as an adult, but this idea instead has an 11-year-old female Harry who is still the dreamer she was when the story started, still 11, still hopeful, and in need of a confidante but also guarded especially with adults, maybe even more so now that she's a girl, a kid just trying to fit in the new world she was recently told she was a part of by a large friendly but rather odd man.

It's essentially just two muggle-raised orphans in their secondhand clothes meeting each other on the train to what they could call "home" finally.

The boy thinks the girl is weird, she talks like those that he sees when he wanders through the richer side of London when he can, Received Pronunciation they call it, but she wears a t-shirt too large for her size with shoes that look worn. Yet her trunk looked like one of those expensive ones he saw when he was buying his list, and while the tee was large on her body, the material didn't look cheap.

Iolanthe meanwhile meets a very handsome boy, a complete stranger who is also very new to this magic thing and also muggle-raised like her, maybe a muggle-born. She did think that his manners were rather crass, and no, it wasn't the cockney accent or his choice of words, he was rather polite with them, she thinks, much better than her cousin or his friends, but there was something with the way he looked guarded when he sat but open with his words when he spoke, quite blunt and unsubtle, almost unhinged. He seemed like he loved the sound of his voice, and she should have been annoyed but he was too entertaining without meaning to be.

The story delves through the experiences of being a presumed muggle-born, and a controversial "love child" in which is arguably the most traditional house in Hogwarts, Slytherin, where either one would have had them be ostracized inside but still allowed them a measure of privacy if they stayed alone, yet the two stuck with each other making them more visible not only to those within their House but to the whole school as well.

They are two muggle-raised children facing a rising anti-muggle sentiment across the whole school due to the effect of the two wars, muggle and magical, occurring during the period, and then, that's where they discover the power of names even more, a difference they would never be able to change. No matter the whispers that surround her, Iolanthe carries a known pureblood family name even if they weren't included in the Sacred 28 list, therefore, she would always be confused for one. They would expect her to know certain things and sometimes forget that she grew up differently. While try as he may to learn much of the wizarding world, Tom would always be reminded of his muggle ancestry and strangers were more prone to assuming he was a muggle-born, and undermining him for that simple fact.

Set in the 1930s, there is less enmity towards Slytherin House from the rest of the school, though Gryffindor-Slytherin rivalry would always be explosive but that was just the order of things; and because the horrors of the 1st Wizarding War in Britain hasn't been experienced yet, there is even less consideration towards Muggle-borns and their plights. Even the most open-handed one among their professors, Albus Dumbledore had his own brand of prejudice when it came to their other world.

It features the unraveling and reconstruction of a young Tom Riddle, his effort to remove the traces of his upbringing, his try at mirroring the personas of who he deemed as the summit of pureblood refinement among his housemates, chiefly Romulus Lestrange, Walburga Black, and Abraxas Malfoy, his struggle to rise in the rigid Slytherin hierarchy, from an outcast to someone who had charmed everyone, weaponizing his perfectionism and excellence in academics to carve his own niche, and aided by the halo effect, though it is something he will not openly express as a strength of his. He may have arrived to Hogwarts skinny and malnourished but it didn't deter his face from taking center stage among his peers and the human tendency to gravitate towards beauty.

It also introduces the creation of the Knights of Walpurgis, which was pretty much an inofficial boys' club by their generation of Slytherin boys, the respective members of their motley crew, and a glimpse through their family histories, their illustrious images, the pretences they hold up, and the guises they blanket themselves under.

But the families that will have the spotlight will be the Potters, who are reaching new heights with Fleamont at its helm, and the Blacks with their manifold members who are all well-placed in society,

History of Spider-Man Day

Everyone  loves Spider-Man. And how can we not? Spider-Man entered the comic-book  universe in issue 15 of Marvel Comics’ “Amazing Fantasy” in August 1962  and has been a major player ever since. The groundbreaking story caught  the attention of readers when it featured an awkward, antisocial teenager as its superhero — a description typically associated with sidekicks. But this bold move turned out to be a boon for creator Stan Lee, who touched the hearts of a generation of kids who felt lonely, rejected, or had difficulty making friends. Spider-Man proved that anyone can be a superhero and, even after being around for about 60  years, he’s still as popular as ever.

Spider-Man got his own comic series, “The Amazing Spider-Man,” in March 1963. The titular character rose to popularity and quickly became integral in the ever-expanding  Marvel Universe, engaging with regularly featured characters like the  Human Torch, the Incredible Hulk, and Daredevil. The supporting  characters in the Spider-Man world were equally interactive and  colorful, enthralling readers who developed soft spots for them. This includes J. Jonah Jameson, the anti-Spider-Man editor-in-chief for the “Daily Bugle” newspaper, Spider-Man’s love interests Gwen Stacy and Mary Jane Watson, and costumed villains like Doctor Octopus, the Green Goblin, and Venom.

Spider-Man became a fast-expanding franchise, his heroics no longer able to be contained in single monthly issues. Spidey’s frequent crossover storylines with other Marvel characters led to the creation of the bimonthly series “Marvel Team-Up” in March 1972,  which ran for 150 issues. Spider-Man teamed up with nearly every  high-profile superhero in the Marvel Universe in this ongoing series.

“Peter Parker: The Spectacular Spider-Man” was the fourth installment comic series of Spider-Man’s continuing adventures. It debuted in December 1976 and ended after 263 issues. One of the most memorable events of  this era was Peter’s marriage to Mary Jane Watson.

We all know  Spider-Man is fast, but his momentum in the comic world was soon noticed  by Hollywood as well. Sony Entertainment purchased the rights to Spider-Man, and brought him to the big screen in May 2002 with the movie “Spider-Man.” With Tobey Maguire playing the friendly neighborhood superhero, the Spider-Man movies paved the way for the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the superhero movie genre. “Spider-Man 2” was released in 2004 and broke box-office records, followed by “Spider-Man 3” in 2007,  which ended Director Sam Raimi’s trilogy. The franchise was rebooted  five years later, with “The Amazing Spider-Man” in 2012, starring Andrew Garfield.

Next, Spider-Man made his debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the third act of “Captain America: Civil War” (2016). Young actor Tom Holland breathed life into the web-slinger, who had been neglected due to the ongoing legal issues and character rights between Sony Entertainment and Marvel Studios. The latest Marvel movies featuring Spider-Man are worldwide blockbusters “Avengers: Infinity War” (2018) and “Spider-Man: Far From Home” (2019).
