That is why he offered it and seeing that she was lost and alone just as he was, where had the boys gone? A hand had rubbed her back before giving it a gentle pat to ease her worries.

She felt so much better after hearing that, a reply like that she very much needed. The hand rubbing her back then gently patting it was an added bonus to lift her spirits. It soon made the girl smile.

The adviser had closed the gap between them and embraced the other in a tight warm hug for just a moment before he loosened the grip around her. To hold someone so petite as her it was quite the change from the others.

   ❝Are you feeling any better?❞

“Yeah, a little.” She replied, nodding once more as she embraced him. Hugging a stranger was indeed a bit awkward but she appreciates it very much. The fact a stranger is willing to comfort her like this, especially when her friends were nowhere in sight, it warms her heart and gives her hope.

Ignis had to ask for permission versus just rushing into most likely frighten the woman, it was the most respectable way of going about a hug with a stranger he hasn’t had the chance to know yet.

Vanille didn’t even speak a word, only nodding her head as a reply to him. She wasn’t going to reject a hug, it was never in her nature to reject them especially when she needed comfort the most.
