Okay, so I watched Lost for the first time recently and looked up fanfic and found a DCxLost fanfic that no one asked for but it wasn't written the way I would have done it so I STARTED MY OWN. I have no intentions of ever finishing it but it's so good -- send me a rose 🌹 and I'll post a snippet from a wip!

Dick walked across the beachfront as twilight fell over the island. His blue eyes scanned the horizon. The backend of the plane was gone. No Bruce. He wasn’t among the wreckage or the people who didn’t survive. Dick had already checked twice.

“Hey, Dick, right?”

The teen turned. 

“I’m Jack, I’m a doctor. Are you okay? Any scrapes?”

Dick shook his head. “I’m fine. I wasn’t hurt.”

“Okay. You’ve got a pretty nasty cut on your head. Mind if I take a look?”

Dick narrowed his eyes. “What sort of doctor are you? Where do you practice?”

Jack grinned. “I’m a spinal surgeon. Dr Jack Sheppard, I’m from-”

“-New York. You did that surgery on the lady who wasn’t supposed to walk again.”

“How do you know about that?”

“My- my dad keeps up to date on medical journals.”

“Your dad’s a doctor? Is that how you knew Boone was doing CPR wrong?”

“I know how to do it.” Dick’s eyes flickered across the doctor. “Did you get your wound stitched up?”

Jack blinked widely. “Yeah,” he replied slowly. “I did. Was your dad on the plane?” Jack asked gently. 

Dick nodded. “He was in the back.” 

The back of the plane which broke off first and disappeared into the ocean. Dick knew the chances of survival for something like that were low. But Bruce’s chances were significantly higher from simply being from Gotham – even more so since Bruce was Batman. He’d been in worse situations. 

Jack nodded. “We’re building a fire. You can come sit with the others. I think there’s another boy about your age here too. People will come get us soon.”

“Are you sure?”

“I am.”

Dick turned and pointed to the stars. “We’re off course. At least a 1000 miles, maybe more.”

“You can tell that by looking at the stars?” Jack continued before Dick could respond. “Look, I’m sure we will be found soon. Come on. Hurley found some food and we’ve got water. You need to stay hydrated and I need to take a look at your head.”

Dick nodded and followed the doctor back to the campsite. He looked across the assembled group of survivors. There were a lot of bad people in this mix. He and Bruce had been on that flight for a reason. 

He didn’t see Anna Maria or Echo here, but they were sitting in the back end of the plane. Dick looked from “Sawyer” to Kate and then across, away from the others, where Jin was with his wife. It looked like Boone and Shannon also survived. He knew them from a few society events. They wouldn’t recognise him, but they’d know him by name. 

Dick released a slow breath. These were his people to look after and his people to keep a close eye on.

Number 4 is so real, I was SHOCKED, he wasn’t just trying to shoot that man in front of everyone, he was doing it in the face— a nice callback to s1 when Sawyer shoots the Marshall and Jack is like [YOU FUCKING IDIOT] YOU SHOT HIM IN THE CHEST ?????

Also for the various moments at number 5, specifically his attempt at flirting, let’s add in his insane don’t worry, we still have 13 more [bullets] to shoot each other with verbal attempt to rizz her up in 2x19.

I am so curious now I need to ask, top 5 unhinged jack moments?

"Orientation" (S2x03): MY JACK SHEPHARD TOP ICONIC MOMENT OF ALL TIME. When Desmond escapes from the hatch and runs into the jungle, Jack runs after him, reaches him and points a gun at him. Desmond starts remembering stuff, he's seen Jack before, he remembers something about "a girl Jack was worried about", he asks him what happened to "the girl" (Sarah) and Jack shouts "I married her!" and then breaks down crying like I don't know what. He's so unhinged and pathetic in this scene, I love him. You can watch him being hysterical here.

"Par Avion" (S3x12): To be honest this is THEE most unhinged Jack moment of all time, but it's not my favourite. However, I must add it to my personal top 5 because it IS unhinged. I'm talking about this moment:

I just find the juxtaposition INSANE: one day this man is having a mental breakdown and is about to potentially MURDER (I say "murder" because it was premeditated) Ben while performing the surgery, the next he's playing football with the Others and helps Ben while he's in a wheelchair. I dunno, makes you think about Jack's mental stability, am I right? Lol. What's more, the final scene is hilarious: we hear this ominous, powerful music that ends with a sudden stop right when Jack throws the ball on the ground. I'm sorry, this is such a fun, unhinged moment, I can't with this man...

3. "White Rabbit" (s1x05): another jungle scene for our El Jacko. Jack runs into the jungle thinking he's hallucinating his father, eventually he has a menty b, sits down on a rock and starts SOBBING. I've talked about this episode and how this scene reminds me of another scene from "Alice in Wonderland" (the Disney movie). I LOOOOVE IT.

4. "The Beginning of the End" (s4x01): when Jack straight-up tried to kill (failing) John in front of a fucking crowd. I'm not adding anything else, just this screenshot:

5. Various episodes: these aren't "unhinged" per se, but when Jack tries to act "normal" , to give "advice", or to "flirt", I kinda get the same unhinged vibes. Exhibit A, exhibit B, exhibit C (but there are many such cases, lol).
