honestly at this point, i think the only relationship that would have worked out for catra would be with double trouble (assuming that they're around the same age bc spop continues to be vague with the characters' ages). they were the only person she didn't couldn't abuse and somewhat respected.

“ i could feel the hay sticking between my fingers,
the ohio summer nostalgia beginning it’s end on that truck bed in the urban garden,
illuminated only by street lights,
the pin stuck me a little harder
realize.
i could feel my socks soaking in the puddle
looking down through fogged glasses the rain permeated my entire being on that loud city street,
pushing laughter through gritted teeth so they wouldn’t sense my fear,
the line broke from too much resistance
realize.
i could feel my hands trembling on the edge of the bathroom sink,
it’s definitely not raining inside though
i can hardly see myself in the mirror,
voices rang aimlessly down the hall passing right through,
the atmosphere started to suffocate me
i realize,
the closet is an awful place to die. ” - @hada-lesbiana
this is my poem & my art. please reblog and share with credit. my creativity is very important to me. much love and solidarity to all who see, feel, and resonate.

Transmascs: "Trans solidarity! Trans solidarity!"
While trans women have elaborated tme/tma theory (a sex-conscious antifeminist framework that inverts feminist class analysis, justifies anti-afab hatred, misogynystic social dynamics under non-sex explicit ''progressive'' language) that they are institutionalizing.
It was developed by baeddels on pre-2017 Tumblr to address ''intracommunity issues'' how ''afab people use their afab status to oppress trans women''. Now, you know where this theory comes from.
Transmascs/afabs. You guys are useful idiots when you endorse this theory even in restricted contexts, it's fundamentally against your interests as an afab person. It serves to destroy afab-solidarity while cultivating an amab-solidarity among gnc/trans people, to silence you and make you subservient to ''TMA'' (amab trans/gnc) people interests since you are positioned as being part of the privileged, oppressor class ("TME") because of your agab.. Good luck when it will be fully institutionalized in leftist spaces and in broader society. You'll be even more silenced (and hated) than you are now (which is bad enough).
The criticisms I've read from some transmascs about this theory don't go far enough.. They don't recognize its antifeminist inversion, misogyny, the sexist dynamics it creates/reinforces and the amab-dominace/solidarity it allows and justifies. While the critics admit that it's a sex-conscious theorical framework masquerating as a sex-blind one, they still reject sex-consciousnesss as a priciple and as a basis for social/political analysis and organizing. Which is extremely harmful for afab people.
Sex-blindness is a way of concealing afab and transmasc oppression, preventing political organization and silencing you, and thus maintaining your oppression.
This is an example of a trans woman radicalized by tme/tma theory.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
and it's our future in queer/trans/leftist spaces if we don't succeed in countering this theory.

Been seeing a lot of terfs and radfems in the lesbian sphere lately and it's making my skin itch. I feel like I've outgrown the term lesbian anyway so I'm wondering if I change my username it would make me feel better. But what should I change my username to? I think I'd like to incorporate Mx in there somewhere...what do you guys think? Feel free to brainstorm with me.

no because i firmly belive that if remadora wasn't canon and if a random fan decided to pull together remus lupin and sirius' 15 years younger cousin everyone would have given them a 'girl wtf' look and moved on

i haven't talked trans stuff with irl people in a while so when i tell you today was exhausting
#sat in my class minding my own business when the entire class started shitting on trans women#how to argue with these ppl without breaching stealth#i don't pass well as a woman anymore so i'm assuming these people think i'm a very butch lesbian or whatever#no one's uncomfortable with me being in the women's toilets but as soon as a trans woman steps in there all hell breaks loose#hypothetical trans woman in this case btw because there aren't any trans girls in my class but my language recently started using a#more gender-neutral approach to speaking and added an nb gender marker to job descriptions and passports#so of course every language teacher under the sun has to complain about it#and that turned into an unhinged 30 minutes of my teacher pretending to be a trans woman but actually acting like a very flamboyant#drag queen getting ready to bother some ladies in the women's bathroom#and i have never been more uncomfortable in my life#lucky for ME i don't have to attend that class often so i think i'll only head in there for any exams that might come up#transphobia tw#adding this one for the girlies following me#rant time sorry#this is the second time a teacher tried to get some kinda anti-trans approval out of me and i don't know what they're trying to achieve#here but they're barking up the wrong tree here#the m/f/nb gender marker does exactly what it says btw whatever marker's in your passport dictates where you can go and nb bathrooms are#kinda welcoming to anyone men and women included#and all of this is a discussion on its own#but the starting point of this argument for these people was that trans women and trans men can only use nb bathrooms because#they're not 'real' men or women and where to even start here you know#in the end while i was arguing my teacher told me that i don't know what i'm talking about but 'every other man' in this class#knows exactly what he means#cut me off and that was that#it's not about winning or losing here but i think he realised that i was using arguments that he just didn't feel like talking about rn#so i just ended getting cut off and talked over and i wasn't feeling like#raising my voice but it's just uncomfortable to know what this class would have been thinking of me if i hadn't#decided to go by my agab in this evening course#by the way the very first day i attended this course i showed another guy to the women's bathroom because the men's bathroom was closed for#repairs

I feel like you would get this, seeing this comment section kinda hurt. The OP they are responding to is a non-binary trans man who was talking about feeling uncomfortable because they still feel attraction to lesbians and have felt very excluded. He’s wary around certain lesbians because they center their ideology around hating men regardless of gender identity and has faced a lot of anti-transmasculinity and transmisogyny. While most lesbians are wonderful amazing people there’s no denying that some do hold an innate hatred for men, not saying they need to like men. I fully understand lesbians and predatory cis men but there’s definitely lesbians who would date trans men. It can be scary for a trans man to come out or start transitioning because at what point do they become too masculine or too much of a man for their friends. There were even people in the comments saying the same anti-man statements who identify as a he/him nonbinary lesbian. This topic is very hard to hear for me as a closeted genderfluid person because my best friend is a man hating lesbian and I dread the day I can actually begin transitioning and she turns her back on me like these people. Queer spaces in general can be hard to occupy as a multi gendered person because of those people as well as mlm/nblm spaces that say ‘fem aligned dni’. In general I don’t think we should police labels and everyone has their own interpretation and I think labels are just a suggestion anyway but I suppose that makes sense for a genderfluid bisexual person.
These people just straight up do not understand the gender diversity that has always existed in lesbian spaces (by which I mean spaces built & catering to queer women & those seen as women).
There have always been trans men in lesbian spaces. You aren't obligated to fuck them, but they have always been there. There are pages and pages of writing out there not only by trans male dykes, but by the lesbian cis women who love them and still identify as lesbians while in relationships with them. There are trans guys at dyke bars right now as we speak having a great time.
Its not surprising to me that there are he/him NB lesbians supporting this. There are a lot of people out there who, because they don't identify As Men, mentally distance themselves from those who do despite any similarities. It's okay for THEM to be lesbians, and it's transphobic to erase THEIR lesbianism because they are Non-Men™! but once you cross that line you become the enemy. It's very "no you gyns I'm TOTALLY different than those gross tbros i promise im not a man at all and i will never want to be one so im allowed in the club!" The same people also throw multigender people under the bus. Trying to figure out your nonbinary in this environment is hellish (I speak from experience) because people pretend like they are super accepting of nonbinary people, until you realize that if you ever think of yourself as even slightly male people will start seeing you as a predatory invader trying to Force Lesbians To Date Men! Very "complex gender for me but not for thee"
Anyways. Twitter is not a good place. Anon, I hope you find better friends. Not every queer space is this hostile to us, I promise. There are people out there who genuinely work to make our community better and I hope you find them.

Pronoun discourse is just as exhausting in person. A trans girl in my group project for History of Modern Europe refused to use he/him for me because "they/them is neutral" and I looked her in the eyes and said, "I will not reply to group texts, upload anything or share resources if you don't refer to me correctly. I use silence to train my dogs, I use it to train transmisandrists, too." She was furious and spent a few weeks misgendering me... until she realized I was serious and I would let all of us fail this group project because this he/him? Yeah, this he/him had a 100 on every single assignment up until that point and could take the grade hit. If other people can't, well, that's not my problem.
She learned to call me he/him with incredible regularity once her grade was on the line. Suddenly, two words weren't incredibly hard to recall and abruptly, not every conversation with her turned into her lecturing me on how trans women have it harder than trans men. We were able to talk about the actual subject of the group assignment and she was able to remember he/him.
Meanwhile, the cishet members of the group had not struggled to recall he/him for me once, nor had they turned group project meetings into discourse once.
Why are queer people always most vicious with their fellow queers? I'm in MONTANA, and the people worst to me aren't the fucking rednecks, it's other queer people. Rednecks don't condescend to me about how they/them is neutral and good and indicates they're trying their best and trans men have it easy actually. It's the city queers sitting there going, "Rather than just call you he/him and spend this meeting for our group project focusing on the project, I'm going to treat you like the enemy and lecture you." People talk about the concept of a 'queer community' but getting lectured about how trans women have it worse than trans men (because I guess my saying 'use my pronouns' secretly implies I think trans men have it worse? idk, I don't speak bullshitese) doesn't make me go, "Ah, yes. My community! I feel so supported!" it makes me go, "Oh, fuck. Great, I'm stuck talking to an asshole."
Between this, the lesbians I've met on campus who keep making, "gays can't do math or science or history or whatever other subject we're in right now" jokes who seethe with contempt for the privileged gay men, the cis gay guys terrified of doing something perverted who view drag, cosplay, wearing a skirt, wearing makeup or fucking around with presentation at all as not okay/possibly problematic and the NBs who cannot emphasize enough to you that they're one of the good ones who don't dye their hair or wear stupid shit or use neopronouns like the bad ones do, and the utter disgust they all look at anyone with who dares use the word queer, I'm beginning to feel like "the queer community" is one of those things you don't get access to until you're 30+. Alternatively "the queer community" appears to "antis, but with rainbows and flags and ew you think the rainbow flag is for everyone you're so problematic", which is... not great, honestly?
I know this will get a lot of queer people very angry but I'll say it: there are 492 anti-queer laws proposed in the USA, not counting the ones that have passed. We should probably focus on that instead of going for each other's throats and then saying we're a "community".
--
I don't think it will get many queer people around here angry, but yes.
We have more of a need to draw together into a community when everyone's dying of AIDS or getting beaten up or trying to stop laws that make it illegal for us to exist.
Some people have the privilege to shit all over that community. They don't see it as one, but it is.

lesbian infighting game is insane man. why are we always at our throats over lesbians who are not explicitly fem. the "pronouns do not equal gender/identity" website sure fucking hates when your pronouns dont equate your gender. the "im girl in a boy way" and "im boy in a girl way" website sure fucking hates when guys are girls and girls are guys.
the vast majority of anti-masc/he/him lesbian arguments reek of conservative/terf talking points. very "youre a WOMAN/MAN" and "there are men infiltrating this community"
"lesbians should only be girl/girl." true. yes. by very definition. the queer community's foundation is built on the knowledge that gender is a spectrum. this is constantly being preached on tumblr dot com and yet when someone actually identifies somewhere on the spectrum that doesnt immediately and explicitly correlate to their pronouns/sexual identity they are chastised. this argument also goes for masc/fem nbs anyone else who is freaky with their gender. please fucking get a grip

i want to talk about a phenomenon in the trans community that reminds me of political lesbianism—a phenomenon that my gf refers to as “political transgenderism.”
during the second wave of feminism a lot of hetero/bisexual women stripped their sexualities and put on the label “lesbian” as a means to progress feminism. they believed that to be a feminist meant they had to exclude men from their attraction, despite the fact that sexuality is an innate, uncontrollable trait!
similarly, i see this sentiment crop up in trans communities. every single person who touts “you don’t need dysphoria to be trans” is a proponent of political transgenderism. they believe that in order to destroy the evil cisgenders, MORE people need to identify as trans or nonbinary! they believe that identifying as trans/NB is a valid political strategy.
my issue with both political lesbianism and political transgenderism is that there is no need to change your identity in order to fight whatever fight you believe in. i don’t need to claim to be Black in order to be anti racism or claim to be an amputee to be anti ableism. the only type of person who needs to center themselves and their identity in their political beliefs is a selfish and egotistical one.
political lesbians and political transgender people co-opt the struggles and vulnerabilities of marginalized groups. they use stereotypes and generalizations as an attempt to “pass” as “valid.” when really, the only thing that makes one a lesbian is exclusive female same-sex attraction, and the only thing that makes someone trans is dysphoria.

it's not exactly an anti thing, but i randomly checked out a blog and the first post i saw was about how supposedly, gay men are begging everyone else to stop using the rainbow flag because it's for gay men only and the rest of us are a bunch of monsters who won't let gay men have anything and now they have to "reclaim" it. and also the mlm flag is bad because it was made by "weirdos" and will never be used outside of tunblr (but adore and use a nb lesbian flag?) ARGH
