“women used to marry young and have a lot of children” VS “men used to marry women when they were still little girls and force them to be pregnant and give birth their whole life”.
“in the past women didn’t get education” VS “in the past, men stopped women from getting education and excluded them from all cultural spheres”.
“muslim women must wear hijab” VS “muslim men force muslim women wear hijab”.
“in this country, abortion is illegal” VS “men in this country made women getting abortion illegal”.
women’s oppression doesn’t happen by itself. women’s oppression isn’t passive. there is an oppressor class that actively chooses to oppress women, and the oppressor class is MEN.

Men masturbate to shit that would be considered an actual fucking crime in literally any other context outside of porn and then act like that has no influence whatsoever on how they view and interact with women.

it’s actually so fucking insane to me that leftists can hold the belief that white people, due to their socialization in a racist society, are all inherently racist to some degree and need to constantly be checking themselves and doing work to be actively anti-racist.
but those same people would be sending rape and death threats if I said that male people, due to their socialization in a misogynistic society, are all inherently misogynistic to some degree and need to constantly be checking themselves and doing work to be actively feminist, even if they identify as women.

a lot of the male rage online comes from the fact that a lot of men are genuinely losers. they don't contribute anything to society, and naturally, they have low self-worth. Except, they've been told they have a right to use a woman's body, and that, despite their overall loser status, they are hierarchically above women. what enrages them is that women's rights have come far enough that natural losers are losing.

When fascists claim that "XX and XY are the only sexes" it's not a misunderstanding of reality but an expression of intent to erase anybody who exists outside of their desired norm.
Thinking they're just ignorant or misinformed is a fatal mistake, it's got nothing to do with how the world *is* and all to do with how they believe the world *should be.*

do you think men are ever uncomfortable when it is casually mentioned that women had…. no rights? when the history professor jokes about men taking women as war prises, royal men selling their daughters to other royal men, kings killing or imprisoning their wives out of boredom, men raping women in the country they conquer, do the guys in the classroom feel any guilt or shame? when “everyone had the right to vote” means “all men had the right to vote”, do they feel that something is wrong?
looks like an average woman doesn’t think twice about the fact that almost all history we study is the history of the male sex. we are so used to women not being in the picture that it appears natural. i wish there was a way to separate ourselves from our oppressors in historical context.

If you Google "India rape news" these are the top articles that show up (they're all from today btw). And these are just the reported cases.
According to a report, 99% of sexual assault cases against Indian women go unreported.
Indian women are subjected to the worst kind of abuse by men. Misogyny is so deeply rooted here that honestly, I don’t think there’s any hope for us.
And the truth is, nothing we do matters. I could read all the feminist literature in the world, I could make endless lists of everything that’s wrong with this country, I could create space for women online and offline - but men would still continue to hurt us.
And my main issue is with men. Especially with the ones who understand exactly what’s wrong and still choose silence. The ones who laugh off their friends' remarks towards women, ignore how their fathers treat their mothers, and think they’re somehow better just because they’ve “never abused a woman.”
Their silence is our abuse. Their refusal to speak is our abuse.
And then there are women who’ve internalised misogyny so deeply, they defend and uphold the very systems that destroy us. That’s our abuse too.
And as a woman who doesn’t have the privilege to leave this country, I will continue to bear this abuse because I have no choice.
