Very deeply annoyed by the fanon idea that Talia treated Jason like a pet or a tool when he was catatonic, because when you actually read lost days you can clearly see that Talia is literally the only person who looked at Jason while he was catatonic and still saw a person and treated him like a person while everyone else around her (Ra’s and the doctor she hired) was ready to dismiss Jason as an empty shell

#As much as I do use the dog owner and dog metaphor to describe their relationship at times because she did very much pluck him off #the streets and rehabilitate him like one might a stray puppy. Talia doesn’t actually dehumanize him in that way. She’s literally the only #one who believes and treats him like he’s still sentient. Since I'm getting back into comics, ig this is where I admit that I didn't get the tim drake hype until I read jason's return arc and damian's intro to the family? As in, it wasn't his own content that caught my eye but instead the way he was treated when seen through someone else's pov. Because ppl were always talking abt how much he was asked to put up with and I didn't not believe it but I was like well yeah but that's being robin for ya. BUT THEN the guy literally has two people try to kill him??? Only for his own family to essentially expect him to get over it?? And the general fandom agreement is that he should??? AND THEN HE JUST DOES?? And then I read Red Robin(2009), where we find out that he still considers damian dangerous and isn't totally over the whole almost-being-assasinated thing...and the response from both canon and fandom is that he should have gotten over it harder??? That he should apologize for not doing so?????

Not to mention, dick and jason both lost their minds when they found out that robin had been picked up by someone else only for dick to give it away right in front of tim's face, while he was still using the title!!! And his reason was "tim will be fine" and was super shocked when he wasn't!!! Dick babe ilu but im ngl, I would be lacing ur shit with arsenic. In fact, if I almost died multiple times only for my own family to focus more on the emotional wellbeing of my would-be-murderer than me? I'm blowing the whole place up idgaf what the circumstances were (hi jason). But tim just. Doesn't? Like he's majorly understanding and that's treated as normal.

To top it all off, the entirety of damian's and jason's arcs gives tim like two sentences even though their early interactions with him were major stepping stones for the start of both of their arcs! Which, when you think about it, mirrors how his stint as robin both started and ended—like he was just some stepping stone until the "real" robin came around and picked it back up. And you can't expect me to not be facinated by a dude getting the "girl getting in the way of the canon couple" treatment.

The majorly gay and about one canon event from losing the plot thing was just the cherry on top.

I love how everyone in Damian’s life is either their last name, hero name, or like “father”... except Steph. Steph is the only one consistently that Damian calls “steph”- even in canon. Maybe its because he knows how much she hates her father and so her last name, maybe its because he thinks “spoiler” is stupid, or maybe its because he sees her as an equal, not beneath him, not someone he owes deference to, but his equal. Literally in canon, unless hes particularly annoyed at her or smth, or in costume, shes always steph to him. Literally when he is in mourning he calls her steph. Not Brown, not Spoiler… Just Steph.

Idk i just love Steph and Damian so much and I feel like their relationship is so slept on.
