But apparently not #I guess she only matters when it comes to marrying Edward and Promoting Her Family and scheming against Richard #There is very lacking interest in her beyond those things even in her traditionally negative depictions #And most of her “reassessments” tend to do diminish her so badly she's rendered utterly irrelevant and almost pathetic by the end of it #Even when some of these things *are* mentioned they're never truly emphasized as they should be.#See: her formal appointment in royal councils. One of the things that irritates me the most about a lot of bridgerton fans is the constant vilifying of Violet Bridgerton for being horribly depressed after the LOVE OF HER LIFE DIED IN FRONT OF HER WHILE BEING EXTREMELY PREGNANT, being depressed after she almost DIED giving birth where her autonomy was taken from her and given to her SON, and for being so “mean” to Anthony while he galavanted around in season one shirking all his responsibilities and shagging an opera singer. Criticism of Violet is something that I refuse to accept.
