so I know Six Hundred Strike has us all in a chokehold, but can we talk about how Dangerous had "six hundred deaths under my command, cause I had only one goal in mind" and then dead silence for three seconds

Ok the things about siblings is that there's all this shared history. There will always be all this shared history. And the shared history is from when you were still learning who you are and what the world is and how life works. And when you have a sibling, they become part of the answer. They see you at your worst and your best and there's this level of 'I can be myself in front of you, not free from judgement, but always accepted' that is born from that knowledge. Cutting one off would be like losing a bit of yourself and your history
People should make more doomed by narratives siblings relationship.
Like with lovers you can just sever it and not have it related to you ever again but with siblings how could you?
You grow up with them you raise them or they raised you you both know how unforgiving the world is to both of you? You would die for them but will hate them for doing the same and yet none of you would regret it and both of you know it. They could be the person you loath the most and miss the most cause you still remember how they sneaked a candy into your hands. You can sever the tie but you can never look away at what you've lost, at whom you've lost because fate doesn't allow you to be together, eating dinners in quiet peace, if only there's another life, another time, where i can make you another plate of pancakes i would im sorry im sorry im sorry —

I love Suffering animatics/art where Odysseus has a chain or rope around his ankle, connecting him to the mast. not only is it a great reference to the source material, but it implies that someone on the ship was worried that the mere sight of Penelope might convince Odysseus to jump in the water, even though he knows its a siren who will kill him
and that they were so persuasive in this argument that Odysseus actually agreed to it

Checking up on his commission
#hate this guy. spoilers under tag cutoff#i fear i may have cooked with the tags. slash jay.#I've always imagined him with Particulars but I keep forgetting to draw them til like now#he speaks in lowercase to me. for reasons#I wanna know more about this untrustworthy bisexual but I also kinda wanna attack him every time he shows up#cant wait for the inevitable boss fight#fun fact: according to the dictionary 'nebulae' can refer to a clouded spot on the cornea that can cause defective vision#a limbus is 'the junction of the cornea and sclera in the eye'#so I think I speak for us all when I say WHAT THE FUCK MAN#what the hell was he on abt with Dante falling from the sky. and by sheep does he mean June 985 or?#if anyone wants to theorise on my post I'm all for it#limbus company#dante lcb#demian lcb#⏰🐍#unfortunately proud of that caption btw he really is just wanting his comm#HM WAIT BACK AGAIN#is the way the San was on about with leading the fallen nebulae home what causes J985?#as in - it is not people dying but them returning to their rightful place outside the City#with Purgatorio being the war [i think] mentioned#is the doomsday Dante's head leading to the war? it typically refers to humanity's self destruction#or any globlal catastrophe#oh ok with PM is being sneaky again the Wiki page says it was inaugurated in June and guess when the MDE is#but generally things like nuclear war - AI and climate change are the main factors contributing to it#and we've already faced AI in the prev games via Angie so presumably one of the others will be the main force behind Dante's midnight#i personally like the nuclear angle given how Dante's head is already a clock#*BOMB. THEIR HEAD IS A BOMB THAT CAN BLOW UP#please do not write tags at night this was a bad idea

love that, in the Odyssey, there's one suitor (Leodes) who very specifically didn’t do anything wrong. he didn’t eat too much food, he didn’t harass the staff, he didn’t plot to kill Telemachus. and when Odysseus starts killing suitors, he begs for mercy because he was always respectful and kind and even tried to stop the other suitors from being like that
and I love that Odysseus was like “you were trying to marry my wife tho” and immediately kills him

its almost kind. if you're going to lock someone up forever, why not make it somewhere they're comfortable, if you have the option. why not be gentle about it? except this wasn't just Aaravos's home, it's Leola's. and it must've felt so empty without her
Can’t believe not a lot of people are talking about the fact that Aaravos’s prison seems to be modeled after Leola’s and his old home

Two genuine questions: was it REALLY necessary to bomb Hiroshima and Nagasaki, and were those two cities European ones (read: full of white people) do you think we still would've made the decision to bomb them?
People have been arguing from the moment it happened whether it was necessary, justifiable, or in any way required, when the war was almost over and Japan was going to lose anyway. My personal view is that it is and remains a completely indefensible action, especially since a) Hiroshima and Nagasaki were relatively unimportant civilian cities with only some military infrastructure, b) Japan was already under heavy conventional bombing that had devastated the mainland, and c) there was no way, ever, that the west was going to drop a nuclear bomb on mainland Europe. So yes, Japan's geographical distance and non-whiteness played pivotal roles in this, especially after American propaganda stereotyped Japanese people as wild yellow savages and, let us not forget, put Japanese-American citizens in concentration camps for the duration of the war. You can read the Wikipedia page about the post-1945 debate here.

funny how us americans always shame everyone who's online for not caring (as in posting about, no matter if the caring is genuine or performative) about the political event that is important to them right now but will gladly discuss movies, ships, their new haul, all that irrelevant day to day bullshit, without a care in the world when something goes down in the world the US isn't (yet) involved in.

Hera is the type of girl to catch him on the way down, laugh and tell him to be careful
Kanan is the type of guy to respond with something like "I just can't help falling for you"
Ezra is the type of son to tell them to get a room
Kanan is the type of guy who will try and lean against a doorway to flirt with Hera, miss his placing, and slip.

It's funny how... They desperately try to update a story and almost succeed and make it make sense and the women get interesting roles and the gender essentialism is made 'unfortunate' or changed but then the story has to return to the original vision and Chani the Warrior, Chani the Clear-Sighted cannot tell Paul: you piece of shit. If you want to be emperor, alright, but let my people go. Leave this place. Give me the nuclear codes.
The original books said: this was inevitable. But it wasn't. And the films definitely make this clear. But they have to say the same thing or it truly isn't the same story anymore: this was inevitable.
Though it wasn't.

The US is on DEFCON 2 (though the gov publicly claims to be at DEFCON 3, is been leaked numerous times that the actual DEFCON is DEFCON 2)... Do you understands what that means? DEFCON 1 means nuclear missiles have been launched. DEFCON 2 means there is a very high risk of nuclear missiles being launched at any moment.
If you support anything other than IMMEDIATE and TOTAL global cease fires, you are supporting nuclear annihilation. If you do not believe we are in WW3 and believe talk of nuclear war is only something "crazy" preppers are speaking about... you are in deep denial. If you think you will not die due to a nuclear war, you're a freaking moron.
Supporting any war, any war, is supporting the end of humanity and permeant destruction of planet Earth.
If you care any HUMAN life, you best start vocally speak out against every single war.
May mercy be given to us all. You cannot win a nuclear war.

I'm so sorry I know this is a joke but something about this is driving me crazy
Odysseus hurts your son. he doesn't kill him, and he only does what he needs to in order to survive. but he hurts your son and you cannot let that slide. you teach him a lesson and you are ruthless. if you let this mortal be, they will think they can ignore the gods and you cannot let that happen. they will think they can hurt your children without fear of response and you cannot let that happen. you teach him that mercy is a weakness, one you rid yourself of long ago. your drown most of his fleet before he escapes. but you taught him the lesson, you got your revenge, he understands now. mercy is a weakness
its been a year. you go to your daughters. they're all dead. Odysseus found them. once he would've spared them. but you taught him a lesson and he took it heart.
I know this isn't canon but could you imagine if...
Poseidon: Maybe I was a little too hard on that Odysseus fellow. I mean he did spare my son's life and only did what he had to in order to escape.
Poseidon: I think I'll let him get home. Just gonna go pay a visit to my Siren daughters first...
Poseidon: WHAT THE FU-!
