She also should have had Ashley's family-- a partner-in-law and their children, and their children's children. She'd finally decided she was ready to have all of that, and GENERATIONS were all ripped away from her when Ashley died. Fuck the Cabal.

I've heard rumors that future seasons would have brought Ashley back if they'd managed to get Emilie Ullerup on schedule. I am RAVENOUS to see how that would have played out.

Certainly would have given Magnus something to do in reliving the past hundred years or so. Preparing to save Ashley and then bring her back. I can just imagine it. Will being the last to join the others in the new sanctuary, and walking in to find them all waiting there-- Kate, Biggie, Henry and his family.

And then from the shadows, coming to stand alongside her mom: Ashley. Still changed, but herself, smiling with twinkling eyes.

"'Sup."

Will might cough a laugh of shock and disbelief, but looking at Magnus he finally understands her newfound peace when she'd re-appeared. Her surety and and her balance, which had been thrown into chaos in the months after losing Ashley.

Magnus smiles warmly, her fingers looping through her daughter's.

"Welcome home."

The abandoned child you’ve taken in sleeps on your lap as the god who gave you immortality softly warns you. “This will hurt.”
