I saw Superman In theaters the other day (literally the last showing) and I was (of course) thinking How would this movie work in the MLP universe? So I thought the magic glasses would hide his wings. I made him an alicorn because it would be too obvious to make him one or the other. (I mean if his bio parents viewed themselves above the simple ponies it makes sense in that way too). I also wanted his wings to resemble a cape. TBH I didn't know what to do with his unicorn forms cutie mark, I just wanted to display his good heart and hide S and M in there.

Saw somebody on tiktok discussing it that people are apparently claiming "Mr. Terrific doesn't sound smart."

The man goes on to say that Terrific has largely been written by white men so he's never really spoken with much AAVE in the comics. But that now with Edi taking head he's breathed life into him. And the newest Mr. Terrific Year One redoing his origin story definitely does have AAVE

He also points out the same happened with Ryan Coogler. That people couldn't wrap their damn heads around the fact that somebody with an Oakland accent could actually talk about film with nuance and skill. Yall are racist as hell.

Mr. Terrific speaks with confidence. He's speaks like he's the smartest man in the room because he is. Some say he should sound like Reed Richards. That is old and tired. Some of yall just don't like to acknowledge that intelligence and AAVE can exist at the same time. That somebody talking like he does IS scholarly.

People don't know what code switching is and that's clear. I am so proud of Edi for stepping up and being able to do so much for this role and in turn the characters as a whole.

I should not have to hold anybodys hand and say the AAVE that EVERYBODY appropriates on a daily massive scale claiming it "Doesn't sound intelligent" is racist bullshit.

When someone irl brings up "people faking DID back in 2020" and I have to resist the urge to explain that assuming people are faking has in fact done more harm to people with DID as a whole because now people assume it's a generally fake disorder because if I'm too defensive they're gonna ask why I care so much. I feel insane.

What really ticks me off when talking about ai is when people are like "it's unavoidable" or "you'll have to learn to use it someday" or "its going to be part of the future" like no it's plenty avoidable actually if you have a spine stronger than a dandelion. I’m just saying if Daniel Radcliffe, the literal protagonist of the Harry Potter franchise since the age of ten years old, was able to disavow JK Rowling and move on from the HP universe then actually what the fuck is anyone else’s excuse. There is no one else on the planet who can say their entire childhood was HP more than that guy and he still cared about trans people more than the average tumblr user who says “we’re protesting by making all her characters queer and trans!!” like you can do better. I also think it’s neat how the new Superman movie threw in characters like Guy Gardner Green Lantern or Metamorpho with only the most minimal explanation of what their deal is. Feels like a rebuttal to all the complaining about “having to do homework” for MCU movies.

I'm still thinking about how perfect Nathan Fillion's Guy Gardner was. Like...yes! He and James Gunn get it! Guy Gardner is rude and belligerent and crass but also he's got this rough compassion that shines through his actions sometimes and you have to deal with the fact that sometimes the person doing the right thing isn't gonna be someone you like.
