SHOW UP FOR SEX WORKERS WHEN THEY NEED IT MOST

In the city known colonially as london, ontario (Treaty 6, along the Deshkan Ziibi), there is only one drop in centre dedicated to supporting our local sex workers (it also serves as an LGBTQ+ hub), and it is on the brink of closing for good at the end of march if they cannot raise 50k across different avenues. Two of these avenues are a zine bundle that I created, starting at 3.13 CAD, and a gofundme. I have attached both to this post! Please circulate everywhere you can; this centre is quite literally a life-saving service. Please considering helping out.

Since a mass exodus is occurring of people leaving FB & related apps, I'd like to prematurely and imperfectly announce the project I'm working on with help from my partner. Proudly announcing, as a work in progress, The Little Punk Library!

"The Little Punk Library is a project devoted to making information accessible and available pending the obsolescence of the internet (especially social media) and continued censorship online.

We aim to collect books, printed articles, magazines/zines, and more, in order to help our community access information. With the help of our trusty printer/scanner, the postal system, and our own creative brains, we hope with the resources we provide we can be an asset to our community both near and far. Some of the resources we’d like to provide include an index of informational and instructional articles, information packets and learning resources, a collection of fiction and nonfiction books for potential lending (still figuring the mechanics out of how this will go), magazines/zines and chapbooks, and more.

We are also interested in potentially creating a lending library for DVDs, CDs, vinyl records, and other physical media, but it is not our current focus.

I'm working on putting out more information available through Bluesky and a web page that I'm having technological issues with but am hoping to get up and running soon. Ultimately my goal is to create a zine or even just a page of information about how to access The Little Punk Library so that it will be put on paper and not just online and can be exchanged via snail mail. Currently it is not yet accessible but with what resources I have available I'm hoping it will be soon.

1. Focus on your one-on-one relationships.

2. Make soup for people

3. Build a support network.

4. Buy, gather, or otherwise obtain Plan B and birth control for yourself and others

5. Write letters to people in prison and detention

6. Make art and display it in public.

7. Take concrete steps to build relationships beyond borders

8. Learn new skills, share them, and help others learn new skills

9. Feel your emotions.

10. Learn about and begin to practice alternative ways to organize groups and make collective decisions

11. Gather and distribute free N95/KN95 masks and COVID tests

12. Start a study group of people from our history and other histories opposing authoritarian regimes and find inspiration in those stories

13. If you care for a child or children create a mutual aid group

14. Revive the mutual aid funds/networks that used to keep immigrant neighbors afloat

15. Take time to mourn your losses and grieve your dead

16. Feed people for free.

17. If a friend or someone you know is having suicidal thoughts offer to drop everything and be present with them.

18. Organize a stoop or porch sale

19. Engage in play with others as a gateway to imagining other worlds

the contributors for the World Beyond the Veil overwhelmingly voted to support Medical Aid for Palestinians with a donation of all leftover profits upon conclusion of our zine sales. MAP works to provide healthcare and advocacy for Palestinians ranging from emergency care to mental healthcare and disability support.

while a horror zine can grant a moment of escapism and catharsis, we want to do what we can to help fight the real horrors that are facing innocent Palestinians every day under the continuing and violent onslaught. we were able to donate around $700 to our prior chosen charity (Rainbow Railroad) earlier last year, and hope to be able to donate as much as possible to MAP later this year.
