A punk house is a magical place. Like, no really it is. The one I spend time at, it's down in Florida and it's one of the only music venues in the city that's not centered around sex or drinking. It's run by local queer punks, there's a "dorm" where you can sleep if you're having a a bad time at home, there's space for traveling bands to spend the night after a show, there's a community garden and a pop up shop and once it's autumn there's a bonfire most nights. We see so many shows there, and hang out and do art together, and recently we had a big fundraiser to keep it there another year. It was my band's biggest show we've ever played and it was the best time ever <3

Why am I seeing tiktok “punks” criticizing other punks vest, jackets, and pants because they don’t have any punk bands patches on them? You know you don’t need to have band patches right? Who tf are you the punk police?

Quit shaming people for having messy painted patches, that's not cool and the point of punk is working with what you have. I have very fucked up brushes and a small amount of paint most of the time so I can't pound it on there. I have no printers I can use and blades are extremely triggering for me. Is it readable? Yes? Then it's fine. I'm doing what I can, shaming me won't do shit. Plus, you're discouraging new punks from doing what they can with what they have and forcing them to buy from potentially horrible places. I don't have the best paint, I don't have the best brushes, I don't have the best fabric, fuck I don't have the best surfaces to paint on but I'm doing what I can. If you're shaming the people unable to afford certain things, that's not very punk of you.

I embroidered this back patch! I combined the designs for the Sabo cat with the IWW logo and embroidered it over the course of the pandemic. It's still my biggest piece of embroidery
