Because I needed the reminder and maybe you do too: the best way to deal with political frustration is to do something.

A real and immediate impact you can have that will directly help a Palestinian is to buy an eSIM and send it to gazaesims@gmail.com. This allows Gazans to access mobile data so they can get news out and keep in touch with their friends and family.

If you have never done this before, here is a step by step guide, complete with discount codes. It is slightly technical but still fairly easy (imo, ymmv). If you can't/don't want to buy one directly, you can donate to Crips for eSIMs and they will buy one on your behalf.

You don't have to top up the eSIMs when they get low/run out, but I find it comforting to do so. It means somebody is still alive, and that you've made a hellish experience a tiny bit less terrible.

On tumblr and elsewhere in my internetsphere, I see a ton of people who have been very critical of Kamala, and I’m wondering, how these people are planning to vote. I’d also love to hear how the war in Gaza is or isn’t impacting your choice!

Imagine you live in pelican town. The new farmer has been here a couple weeks now and seems to be settling in, except... He's picking the weirdest friend choices. Like sure it's not weird to befriend the local fisherman, especially when he has an interest in fishing himself, but you're pretty sure you've seen him rooting through the Saloon's garbage with the local homeless man. As well, he keeps harassing the poor guy who works at Joja even though you KNOW he doesn't want to be friends with him.

And since you're on the topic of weirdness, isn't it odd he seemingly runs everywhere at a full sprint? Or just... Eats entire raw fish while fishing for "energy reasons"...

...

Despite all that, it's too early to call him off putting or anything... He has been engaging in town traditions, and he's started helping out with the old community centre. He's probably like the rest of you. Someone with a few quirks, that will fit in with the valley great!

Surely he can't get any weirder... Right?

Going to TeslaCon or Chicago Steam Expo?

A quick update to thank all of Patrons for your support. Later this month  a fellow steampunk author (Bill Bodden) will be attending two large US steampunk conventions over the next couple of months: TeslaCon and Chicago Steam Expo.  As I can’t afford to attend, he suggested I send him some bookmarks so he could hand them out at his author table (squee) and plug my books. He’s a complete Sweetie!

  My Patrons’ financial support has allowed me to accept the offer. I just ordered them via US Vistaprint  to ship to him in the US – so, I suppose these will be collectors’ items?

Here’s hoping it gets me some eyes on pages!
