Hey, it’s not your fault. You were just a kid. You may still BE a kid. But I know a few things for certain:
You didn’t ask to be born into this world.
You didn’t ask to be treated the way that you were treated—whether it was by bullies, parents, or other family members.
You didn’t ask to “be a burden” to your caregivers, you deserved that space to be loved and safe
You didn’t ask for your consent to be broken.
You didn’t ask for the shame and guilt someone put you through.
You aren’t bad for something happening to you. You aren’t your trauma.
I’m sorry if you were ever made to feel that way, and I know that may never mean much coming from a stranger, but I know it’s something I wish I heard more.

Everyone dissociates on some level, even healthy individuals. It is literally a NATURAL response and CAN be healthy when used properly. It’s literally about balance as most of everything is.
Having none would be distressing and genuinely unmanageable, and having too much will do a similar job in being distressing.
Even though this MIGHT be controversial, a child dissociating as a means to survive their traumatic life is not necessarily a BAD thing. The issue lies with the fact they are FORCED into a situation that causes such high levels of dissociation, NOT the dissociation-
Dissociation LITERALLY tries to save you from having to live it 24/7. Everyone is gonna cope differently from you, and some things are only gonna work FOR YOU.
Guys. Has everyone somehow forgotten that not all dissociation is bad. And that even for those that struggle with dissociation some dissociation would still be healthy. And that this level of dissociation that is healthy is going to vary for everyone. Guys. Guysssss.

Something really not talked about with trauma disorders is the paranoia.
Being scared and jumping to conclusions when people stand a little too close to you, not believing people’s compliments and thinking they have hidden motives, not believing when people tell you they like/love you, thinking that strangers you see on the street want to hurt you, etc.

Do not claim to be a mental health advocate or a safe space for the mentally ill if you demonise systems, cluster B personality disorders and/or psychotic disorders.

a reminder that the host isn’t the only person in the system who should be respected and made to feel comfortable.
the host is not ‘the important part’, we are all completely conscious and capable of our own thoughts, feelings and our own boundaries. our brain created us because it decided that we are all important and needed.
the host is not the only member of a system you should care about.

"What's your favorite type of music?"
*sweats in DID* "U-uhm... I- I listen to everything, depending on my mood :D"
The moods sitting in the back of my head watching me: "No, no, they've got a point"

Undiagnosed systemhood is
Thinking you just have no sense of self, and that's why your "personality" keeps changing.
Feeling like you're watching someone else operate your body, with no idea how or why.
Having strange deja vu moments where you feel like you've done something, but you don't remember any specific details.
Feeling like years of your life weren't actually lived by you, but by someone else that still exists somewhere in you.
Saying things that you can't control or don't agree with and not being able to do anything to fix it.
Feeling like you don't belong in your body, like you aren't actually you.

Reminder that you can wholeheartedly love your system and sysmates and still have days where you feel tired of being a system. Sometimes being a system makes hard days easier, but sometimes it makes them harder, and that’s okay too.

i don't know if we will leave this up, because we aren't sure if it comes across how we would like. but the alter who wrote this, yellowfang, has wanted to create it for some time, so we opted to try.
we, once again, apologize for any art style inconsistencies. the comic artwork itself was worked on by several of us.
