Might be a hot take as a bkdk and tgck truther here, but I find izuocha endlessly fascinating, beautiful, but also tearfully tragic.

I see their love for each other as something representative of their innocence and naivety when they only knew so little about who they were, and what was to come.

I think the main barrier of their relationship is that its rooted in how they see each other very idealistically, specifically that they're attached to the image of their Best Heroic Selves, and not the deeply selfish, destructive, freaky, and egotistical parts of them. To each other, they need to keep fulfilling that image or else that same person they looked up to would almost die in front of them, and that would be too cruel. Although that hero is still there, that same person they looked up to is not the same now because of...well...everything.

Izuku had barely even talked to girls when he first met her. She was Izuku's first ever real friend (Sorry Kats, everyone and him knows he was terrible), so he saved her in that entrance exam even if it was so dangerous. She gave a new meaning to his derogatory nickname just by being a friend that believed in him. After that, she saved him several more times (Blackwhip and Megaphone are the biggest samples iirc). It makes perfect sense that she is Deku's hero.

Ochako hardly knew what it meant to be a hero when she first got into UA. Just by reaching out to some kid tripping, she made a new friend who would then save her in that exam, then save him again in return. This boy then became someone who was always working so hard to save everyone in trouble, and she realized she wanted to be just like him too. "I want to save people"

But...Deku changes. The weight of One for All is on his shoulders and he needs someone to carry this burden with him. He continues to want to save other people at the expense of himself, still not letting his true selfishness and ego ever show- and it only grows more and more unbearable.

Then...Ochako fell in love with Himiko. Truly, relentlessly, selfishly and devotedly in love with a girl who then dies giving her blood to her- the greatest expression of love Himiko could ever give.

Not that they can't love each other because of this happening (and...so many other things oh god), I'm honestly not sure how to explain it- But them ending up together after losing that innocence and naivety? After Ochako will forever grieve the girl who showed her love in its most beautiful and ugly form? After Izuku changed so fundamentally as a person that the butterflies of a nice girl talking to you doesn't exist anymore? After that simple image of being a hero and being in love has completely changed for them both?

Even so, I believe they still love each other. There is no label I know of that can properly describe them though. They are each other's image of being a hero when it comes to saving people. Aside from Shoto, no one else can grasp the grief of the person you tried to save dying in your hands. They would no doubt try to cope with these losses together, and just try to get better together...but so much has changed. They've changed. The world changed. What are they now? Who are they now?

you could feel your tiredness just disappear all in the span of that minute.

you immediately got up from bed once you hearted the text, turning the lights on as you walked to your closet. you didnt want to keep minji waiting, so you figured you would just keep it casual with a shirt and jeans or something.

the basement was quiet. the whole house was. it was late at night - around one am.

they had been passing back and forth a bottle of vodka, but it was now discarded.

eric couldnt either, so he invited him over.

they werent ready. theyve planned for months, did drills, had everything set to go, but they werent ready.

the brunette turned his head, looking to his friend.

“we have to do it,” he answered with “we have to do it, dylan.” he repeated as well.

they were in tune with each other. everything they said was on the same wavelength.

the blonde shakes his head, looking over at him.

they both stare at each other, communicating something that they could never verbalize.

theyd been through so much and they never got the chance to unpack any of it. this was their way of unpacking - kill everyone and then themselves.

dylan though had gone through something that eric hadnt been through. they were used to the bullying, having been through just about everything you could imagine, but dylan had been given the worse hand.

he cant remember it - doesnt *want* to remember it, but he can remember the way the hands felt - the names he was called and the empty feeling afterwards. he forgot everything else.

he was never able to figure out his emotions or how to deal with the trauma he was given, and now he never would.

eric knew though - he had told him. it was one of the many reasons they would be committing their final act together in less then a couple hours.

he didnt know everything though. even he couldnt know the extent of it.

“itll work out,” eric spoke again “everythings ready to go, vee.” he wasnt feeling good about this either, but he didnt want to show his weakness.

neither know what to say or what to do. at the end of it all they were still two clueless, dumb teenage boys who didnt know how to comfort or handle emotional baggage, but when have they ever known how to deal with anything? their overall solution for life was death.

the brunettes hand rubbed over the others arm soothingly “its gonna be alright,” he makes his voice as soft and gentle as he can “itll - itll be over soon, vee.”

dylan can only sniffle and cry, putting all his weight onto the other and leaning on him for support.

the hands that would soon be used to carry out mass destruction and murder were so gentle and careful over his arm.

it was a wonderful feeling to be cared for - to have someone understand.

this was so out of character. this wasnt a persona or personality they put on like in front of their friends, their family, and the camera. this was just them.

the room is quiet except for the crying and soft hum of the air conditioner kicking on. it was peaceful - the last moments of peace theyd ever know.

“we’ll take care of them,” erics voice cuts through the silence, swallowing hard “*ill* take care of them.” he didnt want to sound gay when he said it, which was funny, but it was the least he could do.

dylan was his best friend. he would hunt down those fuckers if it was the last thing he did - which, it would be.

“yeah, it will. we’re gonna take care of all those fuckers,” normally hed be saying that with such hate and anger, but his voice doesnt change “they wont know whats coming. theyll pay for all the crap they did,” he tucked his silky blonde hair behind his ear “we’ll take ‘em all down with us. we’ll make our point and no one can stop us,” he placed another kiss to his head “we’ll be a force grater then nature.”

to anyone else that would be disturbing - make them feel sick and want nothing to do with this anymore, but it made dylan feel better.

as long as he was with his best friend while getting rid of all their problems, he would be happy.

“you promise, reb?” he asked abruptly, his own voice small.

“yeah, i promise, vee.” he answered back without hesitation.

zolu, arguably, has one of the most complex dynamics in the show. zoro has completely dedicated himself to luffy and luffy has pushed him to accomplish his dream. zoro sacrificed himself in thriller bark, giving up his dream, and promise to kuina, and nearly died in the process. zoros unwavering loyalty in luffy and luffys unwavering trust in zoro is part of the main appeal. im not a cishet female, so its probably why most of this got me upset, but i myself hc them both as aspec, and that they arent very sexual people. i wouldnt necessarily call either "female gaze-y" since the male gaze is a product of the patriarchy and the female gaze is more in a "how does this man treat a woman" way but yeah.

On rewatch, max seemed to be going through a certain kind of Nightmare during “gay week” that Must be attributed to a turbulent episode of internalized homophobia.

My textual evidence is: his confusion / discomfort over being referred to as “daddy”, his almost panicked reaction to avery talking about the threeway (he mentions “the pact” three different times while tristan is open to it… max seems very embarrassed and wary), of course the awkwardness with tristan. There’s also a general air of coldness from him the whole episode. He smiles a few times, but there is a Noticeable Pitch Drop in his voice. Like it’s wild to watch Any other episode then this. He is going THRU some shit. And im not sure why? He liked the threeway (“wonderful”), he has 0 awkwardness with avery (smiles at her, no tension with her), he doesn’t particularly Fight for avery (doesnt ask her to choose). The tristan fight is the symptom of something big. ok ok so i saw terrible influence last night in phydney and im quite literally a changed person.

I have never been in a space where I have felt more accepted and with people I could trust. The phandom has always been a special place for me but being there with our people in the god forsaken year of 2024 is actually crazy work. I felt so safe that I was able openly be me, tell complete strangers things I am not able to tell my family and know i would be accepted. (Also dancing to hot to go with everyone was in fact lesbian group therapy)

I met people my age that have been watching them just as long as me, I met fellow grown up emo kids who listen to the same music as me (and do not judge when I tell them fob, panic! and mcr made my spotify wrapped this year) and I met people who understand the impact that dan and phil have made on my life.

On that note, danisnotonfire and amazingphil <3 there aren't the right words to say how much you have helped me to become the person I am today. I truly love them so much because they have been there for me for every single moment of my young adulthood through the various life changing experiences I endured. From the time as a 14 year old when I first emailed the 'Internet Support Group' panicking that I wasn't straight, to 16 year old me having to balance who I was in the context of my world reshaping as I knew it. They always reminded me to remain true to my nerdy self and right through to now, they have given me the courage to exist in the face of a world that seems so against women and queer folk.

-they first met when luca went to the canadian gp 2017 (he was just planning on going to the italian gp but then vale was invited by monster/mercedes so he came along)

-lance scored his first points and luca (in an attempt to be away from vale and people that knew him as vale's brother) ran into lance and congratulated him and they hit it off right away

-later that season he went to the italian gp and again, lance scored points so the canadian joked that luca was his lucky charm

-after the last race of the season lance went back to italy to spend most of the break with luca

-they had just finished dinner and were now walking back to luca's apartment when he randomly asked "be my boyfriend?"

-it was very embarrassing and he was like "nonono im joking like- not really. unless you want to be my boyfriend then like sure but i don't..." and (for once) lance was super calm and just kissed him 😸

-luca became a VERY public lance supporter and was constantly posting pictures of their "friend dates"

-both luca and lance became very well known in the formula/moto world because of eachother

-during the 2018 italian gp lance got in the points again, after this it became a tradition to, no matter the result, spend the night together in italy after the races

-pecco found out about lance and luca first, walking in on them cuddled up together after the moto2 italian gp (that race is like their little thing)

-luca was scared to tell vale for the first like two years of their relationship (though vale had an idea of what was going on) because after vale and marc broke up vale had some very not so nice things to say about marc that werent very nice about him being gay (vale ur gay too..) so luca was convinced he was homophobic

-cele figured it out himself and never told anyone he knew because he didnt care that much

-bez found out in 2020 when they were teammates, it was literally just because he was too stupid to realize "oh they arent just kinda gay best friends theyre like in love"

-vale found out one of the first times lance went to the ranch because luca ended up having a minor crash and lance took him away to tend to his wounds. vale followed a little later and heard lance comforting a crying luca, constantly telling him how much he loves him and how its all going to be okay and he was like "yeah maybe they are gay"

-that night he talked to luca and reassured him everything was fine and vale loved lance because he could tell how happy he made luca

-the rest of the academy boys gradually found out and the more they thought abt it the more it made sense

-lance ended up moving in with luca in late 2019 and was determined to become fluent in italian for his boyfriend (who was already decent with french for him)

5) understudy bishop again! As last time, quite stern rather than gentle like Adam Pearce

6) Valjean spitting "good" in Done a bit of good.

7) bishop harsh on "that is right", as well as Quite loud and harsh on "passion", then quiet on the next line

8) valjean sobbing when bishop hands him his bag back :-((

9) during valjean's soliloquy, slight pause for stolen time after "so far" in Fallen so far, growled "if theres another", entire "gave me a number and murdered valjean" was spoken. 10) At the end of the day as per an absolute banger - tom hext is the MOST visible ensemble member during this number, its great . Harry was being elusive but I ended up spotting him with tom in the factory . On the topic of Tom, he apparently did the hugest bitchiest eye roll ever when fantine says "and i pay for the child, what's the matter with that?" Which is so funny

18) hm, gayest cart scene ive seen so far . First we got the classic extended bicep touch as they make eye contact ("a memory stirs"). Javert harsh delivery on "broke" in Broke his parole. Half spoken "Of course" in Of course he now denies it. Harsh on "he couldnt run forever". Back to the gay shit, he walks RIGHT up to valjean, then once theyre basically cock to cock he glances down at his tits, then back up in time to push his face into valjean's for "this time there is no mistake", making sure to spit that T in mistake. Im taking they were inches away from each other. Insane.

19) milan was kinda looking down for Who Am I and all i could think about were how good his brows looked from this angle . Only note i took for who am i , other than mentioning how javert took his cravat after he takes it off in the courtroom. You can hear on the audio i took me saying "he's gonna sniff that tonight"

20) katie hall as always unreal as mentioned but shes seriously so good during this scene, her notes are still so strong despite being also so convincingly frail, duuude. Insane. Her and milan are such a heartbreaking duo its FAB

21) confrontation SWEEP🗣 valjean's spoken "listen to me". Javert kinda snaps "you must" very suddenly which is hilarious . Additional note but jordan's figure works so well for the confrontation and javert in general, or at least the way i view him so is it any wonder im so fond of him . Dude's hench . Makes him all the more imposing in all of javert's layers and coats .. delectable. All that grunting and groaning during the fight though Also his mouth wipe after he gets strangled Helloooo get out. At this point i wrote "shit punch" cause valjean's last punch at the end of the scene kinda sucked .

(As a guy with a regional english accent this was #felt.). She also fixes his cravat and then he taps her nose which was fire. However luke did fuck up  and said "shared each bone" twice OOPS oh well. He makes up for it with his classic shoulder touch-clap-stamp instead of doing the christian cross

38) STARS INFLECTION, unfortunately nothing too interesting to note - not a bad thing cause Jordan's voice is gorgeous it just makes for Boring note readingLOL. Anyway..... Harsh start ("there, out in the darkness"). Very toothy (snarling expression) which i love to see thankyou jordan. Smile on first "stars", little smile on "counted" on Scarce to be counted. Held out arms a bit on "darkness" in Filling the darkness, then soft on "and light" which was luurvely. Had his arms out from "place in the sky" to "and your aim". The 2nd crescendo was VERY strong.. just wow ... additionally , Jordan was pointin riiiight at us at the end and he was thrilled to hear this when we met him stage door LMFAOA

39) Looked like marius almost walked into a beam when he enters the stage after Stars.  He also does a little giggle when he leaves . That whole scene he did not stop moving , girl slow DOWN

74) Javert heavy breathing when he sees Valjean in the sewers . Harsh on "talks of justice". More heavy breathing before the soliloquy. Also put his gun down and clenches his fist on "take him, valjean"

75) as with stars, inflection was typical so nothing to note. jordan's expressions were EVERYWHEEEERE during the soliloquy and i love it . Eyes bulge and eyebrows up on "flick of his knife", which was delightfully harsh. Almost worried on "vengence was his". Harsh on "debt" in debt of a thief, almost shout on "damned" in damned if i yield. Arms out on "i am the law". Harsh on "valjean" and "or" but sings "Javert". 2nd verse hes CLUTCHING that parapet  which was crazyyyy this man is going mental for SURE. Desperate "to hold dominion" and "it was his right". Growled "can this man". VERY strong "reprieved" by the way, holy shit. Desperate as usual on "and must i now begin to doubt". Points to the sky on "heaven" In is he from heaven or from hell. Yells "killed me" in This man has killed me. Shaky, almost sobbing breaths as he steps onto the bridge. Growls "jean valjean". Additional note, i noticed it looked as if he was muttering to himself a little towards the end before the lights fade to black . Which like , mane fuck of whagever bro

76) Very nice limp on Marius. Weird comment i just liked it. Thank god  post barricade marius limp

77) Quick start on "theres a grief". Small, humourless laugh after "talked of revolution". Held "tomorrow" in Tomorrow never came for a bit longer than usual. He hit that shit on the first crescendo though HOLY moly, what a voice . Harsh on "faces" and "shadows", VERY angry on "don't ask me", and remains harsh on "what your sacrifice was for".

78) He Does wipe his tears! (Cosette entrance). (Bonus note from mossy hi: marius tries to sit down, cosette attempts to help him but he refuses and struggles to continue instead) Also for thst whole scene he was kinda facing away from cosette with a very upset expression which made me ughhhhhh:-((((. Seemed better when he looked back at cosette though YAY

79) valjean kinda hunched as he walks off after the confession. Tiny inconsequential note but i liked it

80) i love watching the ensemble for this scene SO much its so good . Tom hext with his wild hair gelled back is great, obviously And apparently was staring at thenardier's arse for most of it . Generally just a fun watch the whole scene i highly recommend

81) marius pulls thenardier by the shoulder when he tells him to go away lmfao. Also there was a dude in the back clapping when he punched thenardier and is like "whaat?" when nobody else claps with him LMFAO

82) Luke does his usual coy wave @ the lord at the start of beggars at the feast

83) i really recommend looking at everyone dancing offstage at the end of beggars - harry did a little hip wiggle dance . A few do variations of a conga line dance . Djavan"s servant character usually kicks his legs up as he wheels the table offstage . SO much fun (additional nlte: djavan's character in that scene in my top 3 ensemble characters)

84) gentle yet gorgeous climb from milan for the Epilogue . Nods on "Bring. Me. Home" URGHHHHHHH....... AND he rests his face in cosette's hair and doesnt move until "i'll obey". Nods at cosette on "i will try" who nods back. MANE FJCK OFF

85) very cozy hug between valjean and the bishop . Faces in shoulders and everything . AS USUAL HARMONY ATTHE END INSAAAAANE they are, as i wrote on my notebook, nut-busting
