Headcanon that most demon royalty goes to some fancy private/finishing school. But that Stolas was homeschooled with a private tutor. It was one of the very very few requests his dad granted him and for years it was a tressure memory, one of the few times he /got to choose/ one of the few times his dad /listened/ to him. Only to realize when he enters society that it was another isolation tactic. That everybody had already spent years forming social alliances and building their reputations and social credit. And that there was no room for him to break into those circles, that he /did not know/ the proper unspoken social rules. That his wife has spent years building her clout and that he is once again. Alone.
#helluva boss#stolas goetia#stella goetia#Other demon royality#Listen I dont know anything about the world building in helluva boss or if they have any type of schools at all#I am basing this off of other dramas involving rich kids there's always a private school social credit is everything#And stolas has such perfect weird home school kid who does not know how to act around people because they've just never socialized ever#And I love the angst of dtolas's life being a compounding series of isolation and misreading situations only to realize#What was wrong way too late but still clinging to the good memory because that's all he has#And it pairs well with Stella being an excellent socialite#And the angst of stolas being like okay yay! Time to attend events i can do this i might even make friends!#Only to realize he /cant/ and forget friends or allies this means he has no one he can lean on to help with the abuse Stella deals out#Owl in a cage is a very telling song#Vassago once again in the corner vibrating because he'd love to be friends! Something something of COURSE in the end it's Stolas who has the power to end the conversation and whisk Blitz away rather then keeping at it when things get rough, off script, and honest.
Stolas want's a storybook romance. He's had it fermenting and stagnating in his head since he was a kid.
Stolas grew up in an environment of putting on airs and pretending to be perfect.
Stolas has no reference point for FIGHTING in a relationship except for an arranged marriage that they both openly did not want to be in, with zero real emotional stakes re: their bond with each other. (The primary stakes were playing bare minimum nice for the kid. Which they still failed at, but that's another topic.)
Of COURSE he doesn't understand that love and resentment at past wrongs (that can be exhumed and dealt with) can exist simultaneously.
How could he? He's never had an emotional investment with an equal, a peer, at all. ;-;
Blitz is intensely fucked up. They're BOTH fucked up, obviously. But this one? Dang it Stolas. ;_; If they'd just continued the conversation instead of Stolas' actively ending it and teleporting Blitz away, they might have GOT somewhere.
#helluva boss#stolitz#helluva boss full moon#helluva boss spoilers#vivziepop#I mean. its nuanced. as good writing should be. Stolas has an understandable right to end the convo#after blitz's outburst. sure.#but (assuming Stolas still WANTS to be with him which... yeah no. he does.#his reaction was a self hate thing as opposed to enough resentment at how blitz sees him to want to end shit for good.)#that's only really fair game if he's willing to reach out and TALK to Blitz again LATER once they've had a minute.#(WHICH. something he DIDN'T let Blitz have by the by.)#And they won't. obviously. because it's a story and requires conflict.#and there in lies the balance in how much we're willing to believe in Stolas and Blitz as characters. @_@#the tension between ''dear god these characters are stupid'' and ''yeah no I buy their faults and issues and why they can't just go back an#fucking talk''

So finally watched Full Moon and oh boy the juicy, delicious draaamaaaa and anggggsst. I am FEASTING.
BUT also if anyone can watch that episode and blame only one of 'em for that clusterfuck then they need to take a media studies course.
#Like my dudes this was a perfectly set up tragedy#from the beginning we knew these character's flaws and the very INTRO is how differently they saw things and were approaching he night#Also the fact people seem to think Stolas is being portrayed as the victim- no no he isn't? We get multiple shots of Blitz's big eyes#but the way Stolas reacts as a person is something people see as more sympathetic#But they are still traumatic responses that cause problems which the show shows.#just like Blitzo's responses are! But Blitzo's responses being more aggressive are seen as less sympathetic despite both coming#from a VERY similar place#This is one reason I actually love Vivziepop's work- she really gets into how messy people can be and all the ways trauma can fuck with you#AND GUESS WHAT FUCKS IT AIN'T PRETTY#But that doesn't mean people are unworthy of love or a chance to grow#Helluva Boss spoilers#Stolitz#I am not even into this ship but I respect it#makes a very good story

One thing I noticed in this shitshow of an episode is how fucking ungrateful Stolas was for everything Blitzø did for him since he came to his place.
Him being a spoiled rich white asshole:
I hate his facial expressions so much, you have no idea
I can guarantee you care about these 'nice things' more than you care about your daughter btw
Oh, we also have, let's see here...
*insert the entire montage of Blitzø (Stolas' victim) trying to cheer his abuser up since he's now in love with him thanks to good ol' Stockholm Syndrome*
Seeing that cigarette reminds me of when Stolas uh... *checks notes* called Blitz an 'itty bitty imp (racist)' despite him clearly hating it, grabbed his cheek and used his horn to put out his cigarette (not to mention Blitzø's severe trauma being related to fucking fire)
Okay so anyway, I think Stolas said "Oh, when have you ever asked" bc Blitzø stole from him and his family 25 years ago. correct me if I'm wrong here but isn't it manipulative af to bring up smth that happened that long ago, also it's totally unrelated to the current situation. I swear it's like a grown ass man saying to another "Oh I still hate you because, uhm, remember that one time in 3rd grade when you stole my pencil..."
So... if Stolas still holds this against Blitzø, let me ask: why was he ever "in love" with him in the first place? Answer? He wasn't. Stolas only used this imp for his sexual fantasies and for him to get to experience his "fairytale romance"
P.S. Imps are a race his privileged ass has always been racist towards and he hasn't ever attempted to, uh... try to understand them better? Understand how they live? I mean if you truly cared about your "boyfriend," Stolas, you'd have put in SOME effort to change your mindset/behavior and WOULDN'T HAVE EVER SEXUALLY COERCED HIM
He also r@p*d you blitz
And no he didn't do much, he's powerful af. Using those powers isn't rocket science heck he turned an imp to stone in s1 he can protect himself but is apparently the "bottom" in the stolitz "relationship". Also no, him leaving Octavia clearly isn't a huge deal to Stolas otherwise he'd have fought to earn her forgiveness and not just sulk like a wimpy loser. YOU ARE NOT ONLY A GROWN MAN STOLAS, BUT A FATHER. At least you were supposed to be
So was not thinking about your daughter until you lost everything, apparently
AGAIN WITH THIS SHIT??? WHY ARE WE TALKING ABOUT A TRANSACTION AGAIN
Alright I'm signing off until the next season drops, if that ever happens
This episode sucked, but kudos to our girl Via who was smart enough to see through her "father's" bs 👏
ALSO HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO THE CRITICAL COMMUNITY (and to non-toxic stans too)!

Seeing a lot of people start hate on Helluva and how it portrays Greed compared to Lust And Gluttony, so let’s get into my 2 cents. This may be controversial, but I do think Helluva portrayed the sins well and here’s why.
Yes, on the outside, Mammon is definitely the most asshole of the sins we’ve seen so far, but this DOESN’T mean that Bee or even Ozzie are angels.
First of all, Bee ONLY stopped Blitz because he was indulging for PRIDE, not for Gluttony. With all of her other guests, she was more than okay with letting them get complete shit faced to a destructive degree.
As for Ozzie, it’s been proven via “Ozzie’s” that he okay with cheating, going so far as to praise Stolas for it. He’s aware Stolas risked everything for the affair, and praised him for doing so. He straight up encourages people to be as kinky and as nasty as they possibly can. Basically for him, if it’s consensual, go wild.
(Not to mention, he’s in a healthy, loving GAY relationship with his jester. While not inherently bad, it’s more than enough to make a deeply traditional Christian faint. Which does kind of seem to be the goal for the show.)
In the end: Ozzie and Bee are just as destructive as Mammon is. HOWEVER, they are so in a way where it’s not as obvious and they’re not as bad because of it.
Because they only fully indulge in Lust and Gluttony 110%, they’re still able to be relatively decent people because completely indulging in those sins doesn’t inherently make you an asshole. It can make you hella harmful, especially mixed with other sins, but on their own they’re somewhat manageable. (I say somewhat because again: cheating and health destruction are a thing).
Also it should be noted that despite being nice people Bee and Ozzie are still HORRIBLE influences. Like if they’re those people who your parents will disapprove of you being friends with.
But besides that, you can be lustful and gluttonous to 110% and still be a nice person to be around. Not a good person, but a nice one.
HOWEVER, you cannot be greedy to the max and be a nice person.
Here’s the thing; Mam, Bee, and Oz don’t have limits to their own sins. All 3 are still destructive as hell, it’s just that Bee and Oz’s sins allow them to have healthy relationships DESPITE that.
Bee, for all her faults, is a wild party girl. However, her gluttonous nature also allows her to completely indulge in love and affection, hence why she can have such an adorable relationship with Tex.
Ozzie is equally as wild but is also horny and kinky as fuck. But it works because Fizz is just as crazy in bed as he is, and arguably even crazier in general. Fizz is a kinky little gremlin who not only makes Ozzie laugh, but more importantly can keep up with him. That’s part of what allows them to be as happy and wholesome as they are.
Mammon however, cannot be at his sin 110% and keep a relationship. It’s just not possible and I honestly don’t think he wants a relationship with someone anyway, as that means he’d have to share something with another person, which he is simply not capable of doing.
In the end, all the sins are destructive. That’s just fact. However, because of their specific sins (and the fact that they don’t mix with the others), some are able to hold up healthier lifestyles and relationships than others.

Stolas just standing there and letting blitz hug him in the end is all good, right? He is just sad because of octavia and accepting that blitz is there with him right?? It's not that he regrets chosing him, right??? (I just need affirmation)
You know what? I've found myself needing reassurance about this too. So let's take a moment to look at the facts together, shall we?
(This reply turned out way longer than I expected it to 😅 sorry!)
Fact #1 - Stolas is still coming to terms with the consequences of his actions. He spends the whole episode finding out just how much his life has changed. Learning how to navigate groceries, and laundry, and meals, and having a job, and worrying about money.
Mid-episode, he has a breakdown where he truly questions if everything he gave up was worth it just for a fantasy. At this point in the episode, he still hasn't realised how much he means to Blitz. As far as he's concerned, he did all of this for someone who doesn't reciprocate his feelings. By the end of the episode, though, his feelings have settled enough for him to express what he has known to be true all along: that saving Blitz was the right thing to do.
What Stolas regrets isn't saving Blitz's life, or even loving Blitz in the first place.
What he regrets are the choices he made that led them to this. He feels guilty for selfishly (or, rather, naively) playing out his fantasies. He's the one who established the deal, who let Blitz illegally use the book for many months, who wasn't always sensible about how he expressed his love for Blitz publicly and despite being married, and who allowed himself to ignore the reality of his situation so he could live in his own, personal romcom—all of which ultimately led to the events of Mastermind and the loss of Via.
And all the guilt and regret he's grappling with (however justified it might be) is exacerbated by fact #2, which is:
Fact #2 - Stolas is off his medication. He's been off it for a month now. Symptoms of depression (especially untreated depression) include mood swings, irritability, self-hatred and low self-esteem, passive/active suicidal ideation, pessimism and hopelessness about the future, catastrophising, black-and-white thinking, and anhedonia (inability to feel pleasure and to find joy in things—and people—who used to bring you it). All symptoms Stolas exhibits throughout this episode.
So, even if he shows a lack of emotion toward Blitz at times, or irritation to seemingly minor things like low doors or "secretating" or Karen's behaviour, even if he acts regretful and angry and desolate... a lot of these emotions and behaviours are a result of his depression, and not of actually hating the life he chose.
Fact #3 - Stolas loves Blitz. He always has, and always will. I could point at a thousand different moments in the show when Stolas' love for Blitz has transpired, but I'm going to leave it at his line from Mastermind: "I would rather be dead than live life without you by my side."
Even after everything they've gone through, even now that he's taken Blitz off his pedestal and can acknowledge that Blitz can be a fucking idiot... Stolas simply does not want to live a life without Blitz. It has always been Blitz. It will always be Blitz.
Stolas loves Blitz.
Fact #4 - Stolas kissed Blitz. Before he truly hits rock bottom as a result of Octavia cutting him out, Stolas is so ecstatic that Blitz cares, that Blitz was willing to go to such lengths to save his life, that he can't hold back the need to kiss Blitz mid-air. Suddenly, none of his earlier frustration matters. Nothing matters expect for how elated he is that Blitz loves him back. So he smiles and he pulls Blitz into a kiss because he can't bear not to kiss Blitz for a moment longer.
Look at this man. Look at how happy he is. Because it's always been Blitz, and maybe it was a fantasy for a long time, but it doesn't have to be anymore. Maybe this can be real now. He's so happy he (and I) could cry.
Fact #5 - Stolas didn't deny loving Blitz. When Via said "You don't love me, you love him," the script very purposefully did not have Stolas go "no, no, Via, that's not true—" or say anything else that might make Blitz doubt, even for a moment, that Stolas loves him. Because that much is true. He does love Blitz. He just also loves Via. Which brings me to:
Fact #6 - Blitz knows Stolas loves him. At no point throughout the episode does Blitz doubt, even for a second, that Stolas loves him. And we know this because Blitz's walls remain down at all times. If Blitz doubted he was loved, if he had even the slightest of reservations, those walls would come crawling back up whether he wanted them to or not. It's what he's been trained and conditioned to do—it's how he's kept his heart safe ever since the accident.
But now, he knows his heart is safe with Stolas. He believes it enough to not depend on his walls to feel at ease. He believes it enough to let himself take care of Stolas and be soft with Stolas without the slightest trace of hesitation.
Look at Blitz's face. This is the face of a man who knows that even if Stolas isn't okay right now, things will get better. And when they do, they'll both still be in love with each other. This is the face of a man who can't wait for something beautiful to flourish between them, but who is in no rush to get there. He knows the road ahead is hard and painful, but he has faith in Stolas. In both of them.
Fact #6 - Stolas was happy to share a private, romantic dance with Blitz. Despite everything going through his mind, he found comfort and happiness in dancing with Blitz; in getting to have this little moment with him.
He found relief in the fact that Blitz stayed with him this time, even after Stolas told him, once again, that he didn't have to stay.
His reaction to Blitz initiating a dance between them is genuine surprise, immediately followed by an enamoured little smile at the mere notion that he gets to have this, now.
And, as they dance, he keeps smiling and leaning into Blitz, going as far as to manage a deep, heartfelt laugh at Blitz's words. This, for an unmedicated, depressed person going through one of the worst days of his life, is huge in itself. It shows that, even in the worst of times, he finds undeniable comfort and happiness in Blitz.
And, after their dance, Stolas looks at Blitz with a sobriety and soft sort of realisation that shows he's finally coming to terms with the fact that this is real. After everything he's lost, after all the fantasies he hoped for for so long and believed he'd never have, he finally gets to have this.
Despite the pain he's going through, Stolas looks at Blitz and sees the man he loves.
Notice how Blitz's eyes trail down to Stolas' mouth. And Stolas realises. And doesn't move away. Waiting, expectantly, for Blitz's next move, fully expecting it to be a kiss.
But then Blitz hugs him instead, and Stolas doesn't hug back.
And it's not because he doesn't want to be hugged by Blitz. It's not because his feelings for Blitz have changed, or dimmed, or disappeared. It's not because he regrets loving Blitz, or saving him. It's not because he doesn't want to have a close, healthy, loving romantic relationship with Blitz.
It's because of facts #1 (he's grappling with so much guilt and coming to terms with the consequences of his actions) and #2 (he's experiencing symptoms of unmedicated depression). And, above all, it's because of fact #7, which is...
Fact #7 - Stolas doesn't know how to be loved. Stolas has never had support. He has never had a shoulder to cry on, or someone to hold him when he needed it. When he's feeling vulnerable and broken, he defaults to hugging himself as a way to self-soothe, because that's the only comfort he's ever known.
And because he's never known comfort from others—because it was never allowed or safe for him to need or ask for comfort from others—all Stolas knows to do with his vulnerability is hide it. So much so that, the two times we see him begin to break down in front of Blitz before this episode, he either portals Blitz away or masks his tears and pain immediately. Even as he drunkenly rambles about wanting to be held, he still makes sure not to appear like he actually needs a hug.
So when he finds himself being held by Blitz in a warm, comforting hug, Stolas doesn't know how to respond. Because he's never had this. He's never had an opportunity to learn how to exist in someone's comforting embrace, how to interact with this kind of physical contact. He still has to learn how to feel safe between arms that aren't his own.
Simply put, Stolas still doesn't know how to hold Blitz back.
That doesn't mean Stolas doesn't want or need physical comfort. He needs it desperately—everyone does. But wanting something and knowing how to actually have it are two very different things, and Blitz knows that better than anyone, because he's wanted Stolas for a very long time, but didn't, until very recently, know how to feel safe accepting Stolas' love.
And that's why Blitz is completely understanding of the fact that all Stolas can do, all Stolas has the ability to do, is stand there and let himself be held, and let his emotions go through him. In, and out, with every breath, with every second. And get slowly acquainted with what being comforted by the person he loves feels like.
Thirty-something years of trauma can't be undone in a single hug, or a single conversation, and it's going to take time for Stolas to learn how to be present while in Blitz's arms, and how to return that emotional closeness.
But Blitz has faith in him. Blitz is willing to be patient and soft with him while he gets better. Blitz is ready to meet Stolas where he's at, because he knows, beyond a trace of doubt, that they love one another, and they're going to be okay. Even if Stolas doesn't know it yet—even if we, the audience don't know it yet—Blitz knows.
And that's just going to have to be enough for now.
And because this post got completely away from me, I shall conclude by quoting their song, because it summarises their story better than I ever could:
Truer love is hard to find. ❤️

So.. Sarcastic Chorus has retired from doing Helluvaverse content. This is a huge blow to the series. If you somehow don’t know, Sarcastic Chorus is the Helluvaverse YouTuber. He’s done so many analysis videos, it’s kind of part of his brand in the same way FNAF is associated with MatPat. The fact that Chorus left the shows is crazy, but, honestly, it’s just a testament to how bad this show has been getting.
This is the view count for the first three episodes for seasons 1 and 2
And if you think that’s bad, look at the difference between the season finales for each season
(I know technically Ozzie’s isn’t the season finale, but Queen Bee doesn’t count because of how long it took to come out)
People are tired of the show focusing on the wrong things. I seriously recommend Chorus’s video, it has so many good points. And one point I really want to talk about is Stolas.
I talk a lot about the bad writing in the show in general and how I don’t like Stolas, but I just want to say, I don’t like him anymore. I used to really like his character.. but season 2 completely ruined him for me because they refuse to acknowledge that he has any flaws. Rather than tell “we know Stolitz has flaws on both sides of the relationship, both will work on that,” instead, it’s all just Blitzo. They’ve spent 3 whole episodes just shitting on Blitzo, when… where’s that same treatment for Stolas? Stolas is a classist, racist, rapist. But the show seems to just… forget this. They’re backpedaling so hard, I'm surprised they haven’t fallen off the bike.
I used to find Stolas an interesting character and I was so excited to see where they would take his flaws and mistakes. Like, think about it. Stolas is completely naive, having been sheltered his whole life. The only concept for genuine intimacy he has comes from erotica. Of course he’s going to have a skewed idea of what sex is like when the only sex he’s ever had is with Stella, who, and I quote, “just lays there staring at the wall” where Stella has to do all the work. Ya… that is fucked and a form of sexual abuse, just like what Stolas does to Blitzo. So, I was interested to see where they would take this cycle of abuse that Stolas is so accustomed to and how they were going to have him break it. How was Stolas going to learn his idea of intimacy is wrong?
Well… he doesn’t. Not really. He does realize this transaction is wrong, but, when he tells this all to Blitzo and when Blitzo doesn’t have the reaction he wants, Stolas throws a fucking tantrum. He walks away and refuses to let Blitzo speak, he denies having ever done anything wrong, says that Blitzo was the one who always makes things about sex when that is NOT TRUE. And the worst part? The show treats Stolas like he’s right. They never do anything to show us that Stolas is a hypocrite, instead, like I said earlier, only punishing Blitzo. And don’t even pull the “he was banished” card! Stolas was not being punished for being a neglectful father, or for being an abusive partner. He was being punished… for a heroic sacrifice. He was being banished because Andre doesn’t like him and everyone is mean to Stolas so we have to feel so bad for him, guys!
I just… I started to have my doubts for the show around Full Moon, but I wanted to stick with the show. I liked Apology Tour, but did find it a bit weird that Stolas was being woobied, but I just assumed it was because the next episode, Stolas would be the one receiving the punishing. But the next episode.. WAS ANOTHER HATE ON BLITZO EPISODE. So I told myself, boy I told myself, that the next episode will be focusing on Stolas’s flaws, on Stolas’s part on why this relationship didn’t work. AND THEY DIDN’T FUCKING DO THAT STILL. In fact, Mastermind was just full of Stolas unnecessarily insulting Blitzo, calling him an idiot and whatnot. Like.. GIVE THIS GUY A BREAK, HOLY FUCK. WE GET IT.
This show has gotten so fucking infuriating. Good on Chorus for leaving. Me, personally? I’m going to keep watching, out of curiosity and because I hate myself, but if the show gets anymore infuriating, I may just leave. Because this show is so non-self aware with its black and white writing while it tries so damn hard to have a moral high horse.
So, actually, no. Not ‘fuck Stolas’. Fuck the writers for being so blind to the kinds of behaviors they are endorsing and encouraging with him.

we all agree how much these two interactions mirror each other in ozzie’s and sinsmas, with the reaching out and the moving away and these 2 idiots will learn how to hold hands one day they just love subconsciously pulling away too much
but i would like to submit to the court this similar scene from apology tour:
and say that there is so much evidence of blitzø's emotional growth between apology tour and sinsmas based exclusively on those two scenes
like. oh my god it's beautiful i love him so much
in apology tour stolas is so sad and blitzø wants to offer comfort but he doesn't know how!!! he's stuck in self-loathing mode and he doesn't know how to cheer stolas up and it's heartbreaking to watch!!!
and then some asshole who is BETTER THAN BLITZO jumps in and asks stolas to dance. blitzø lets him go- if he can't make stolas happy, clearly someone better is the answer.
and the worst part is that it works.
stolas (visibly at least) is so happy!! he's dancing and twirling and smiling and kissing and that guy is so obviously better than blitzø if he can accomplish that.
like.. look at that smile we love this birb so much 🥺
bUT IN SINSMAS
blitzø has done some work on himself and it shows soooo much in everything about how he treats stolas, but specifically the scene at the end is the perfect showcase.
stolas is sad, and it's an impossible situation but blitzø is able to offer comfort the way he wasn't in apology tour, opening up about barb but not making it about himself
there is nobody who would be better than blitzo right now, because blitzø has grown enough to be exactly what stolas needs in this moment. they have a bit of a talk, but remember what made stolas cheer up last time he was sad like this????? dancing
we know that stolas still isn't happy per se, but just the fact that blitzø could see him and be there for him in this moment shows us just how far he's come
and then stolas does his lil laugh and smile
and it's not as big or shiny or intense as that glimpse of him in apology tour, but it means so much more because we know it's real
stolas just lost all contact with his daughter for 100 years! of course he's not happy! but there are moments like this that can bring him joy and blitzø is just so wonderful in this moment entire episode
sloppy making out is not what is called for in this moment, and blitzø reads the situation so well and he's such a good support system for stolas
there's a profound point to be made here along the lines of 'blitzø IS better than blitzo' but i can't get there in words lol just imagine i ended this post really cohesively ❤️
they’ve come so far! i can’t wait until they learn how to not flinch away from each other’s hands!

i’m really fucking thrilled at how well blitzø’s character development was handled this season—and i’m hopeful it’ll be just as good in the next ones.
he started as someone that shied away from any form of emotional confrontation and affection, and he’s now a man that was so so tender when stolas needed him (and, as much as i love blitzø, s1 him would not have behaved the same way lol, even tho he would have been just as worried).
and the best thing about it, is that his mannerisms and reactions felt natural.
i watched blitzø care about stolas so openly during during the latest episode, and it wasn’t out of character, or sudden.
all i could think of afterwards was: “yeah, it makes sense that a blitzø that went through full moon, apology tour and ghostfuckers would react like this”.
because their deal blowing up made him realize he cared about stolas, and their break made him reflect on their history— and while he did that, he also had the support of his friends and family.
then ghostfuckers came out, and millie’s support was the nail in the coffin, because she saw him at his worst, she saw him deflect his hurt and subconsciously try to destroy what he had, and she still stayed.
and it made blitzø realize that maybe, if someone he cares about and admires is truly willing to stick beside him no matter what, then maybe he isn’t that shitty, and maybe he can get better.
the second half of season 2 focused on making blitzø grow by showing him an outsider’s perspective— when he was used in drowning in his own self-hatred— and it was done spectacularly. because an outsider’s pov doesn’t just mean those who hate him, it also means those that care about him.
it gave him a perspective about him that is much better than what he is used to see, and because it was millie who did it, someone who is always so confident in her love for those she cares about, it gave him the hope and conviction he needed.
and now, i think blitzø sees his old self—to some extent—in stolas (someone who lost everything he cares as a consequence of his own actions), and i think he will want him to see the same perspective.
that giving yourself some grace and leniency to grow can do a whole lot.
i’m positive the writers of helluva boss will do as good of a job with stolas in s3 though, and i can’t wait to see it.
#helluva boss#helluva boss mastermind#blitzø#stolas goetia#stolitz#<- technically. although i am not too focused on the romantic aspect of their relationship in this post#is it obvious i love millie and blitzø’s friendship. is it.#i am also so so happy to see blitzø’s development. again. is it obvious.

“Calla?”
Tw: use of y/n, mood swings, light assault.
Note: sorry guys if it's not very good, I've just had a crazy Xmas so far 😭
Chap 1 chapt 2
"I feel silly." The once maid spoke, as she stood in front of a mirror getting her measurements taken by a seamstress for custom stolas. When Caracalla agreed to court her, they couldn't have her fill her normal duties. She was rushed into the palace, a room set up and maids were given to her by a wave of Caracalla's hands.
She lived with the other maids before this, squeezed into a tiny room. It was quite a contrast to be pushed into a room that could have fit her childhood home into it.
"It's different but I'm sure you'll get a costumed soon, after all why go through all of that trouble if you were just going to complain." The seamstress was measuring her waist with tape when she muttered that. The woman stood there shocked at her mumble, "Pardon me?"
"Oh come now, dont play dumb with me girl." The other woman tutted, "Everyone knew he was getting desperate. How come a pretty maid talks to him while drunk one night and gets a ring?" The woman grabbed the hand that had the ring Caracalla had given to her, and the happier shined off the candles. "It wasn't- I dont mean-"
"What did you put into his drink that night? What alchemist are you working with?" The seamstress gripped out uncomfortably tight, and the woman gulped. "That's enough." A voice throughout the room filled the seamstress's eyes with terror. "Emperor Geta, a thousand apologies-"
"It is not me you should ask forgiveness instead of my brother's bride." Her death grip widened in a flash, and the woman sushfulled her way out of the room closing the massive doors behind her. A silence hung in the air before she managed to speak, "Your brother is courting me, I am yet his bride."
Geta's lips twisted into a smile, "Yes but I would have not likened to call you his suitor?"
"Why not?"
"Suitor is such a masculine word, I would not simply apply it towards my brother and..."
She sighed, Caracalla had yet to tell anyone her name. She's been referred to as bride, suitor, maid, courtship, and soon-to-be-wife but never her maid by the people in the palace. "Y/n, my Emperor."
"Y/n?" Geta looked away from her as he tried the name on his lips for the first time, "It is such a... peasant name is it not?" Her eyes widened not expecting that from Geta, he was always the more 'tamed' one to say the least. "Caracalla likes it."
"My brother named a female monkey Dundgus." Geta laughed, waving the thought Caracalla had opinions on such a low-class name. "It is rude to speak to your brother's suitor like that."
"Ah, it is questionable to explain how to interact with someone to an Emperor." Geta's voice laced with a threat something she picked up on. Even with this newfound power, well 'power' she could easily be killed by him and labelled as a spy. Something caught in her throat, "What is your intent with my brother?"
"To get to know him." It was a simple answer but held great substance for Geta, "Not marry him?"
"If I had a choice why would I marry a man I didn't know?"
"He is one of the emperors of the Roman Empire."
"Yet his tantrums I heard would destroy what Rome has forged." She shocked back but without missing a beat Geta stepped closer. “Yet you still wear his ring on your finger?”
“I already told you, Im not interested in power.”
There was another silence, Geta was going through her words. She had a knot in her stomach in case she said anything to upset the Emperor.
“The Senate doesn't think it’s a great idea for my brother to marry a maid.” Her eyes widened, she knew the senate still had great control over Rome even with the Emperors there. She didn't mind not marrying Caracalla so far, she just didn't like the thought of the aftermath. “You're lucky my brother never cared for their opinions.”
“What about your opinion?” She asked interested, Geta smirked a bit. “It would be too soon to tell if you were really after the wealth and power of the imperial family yet…”
“I feel if you can calm Caracalla, then I give you my blessing.” Geta looked at her and Y/n thought about his tantrums. Even Geta can’t calm down sometimes leading to cuts and bruises that she saw him applying makeup to.
“I-” “Brother, why are you in my lady's chambers?” A voice came from the door, Caracalla had his hand pushing on the door. He looked dishevelled, his hair was quite messy and his tunic was stained, just like he was when she first saw him.
“Ah, brother. You rudely didn't introduce me to your lady so I decided to myself.” Geta explained carefully, he didn't like the look in Caracalla's eyes. Envy was something that Caracalla felt nearly every day because of his brother but the look in his eyes was different.
“I was going to when I got to know her better.” in other words, he didn't know if she would leave him for his brother yet. Before Geta could answer, Y/n spoke up “My Emperor, I would like to request alone time with Caracalla.”
Geta looked at Y/n then Caracalla, before nodding and making his way out. Caracalla moved to the side to let him out closing the door behind Geta. She tried to go over towards her, “Caracalla, are you-”
Y/n tried to ask if he was okay since his appearance was rugged. “Is this your ploy to court me as a way to get to my brother?” Caracalla's voice was accusatory. She was shocked, she shook her head frantically. “No, no, never-”
“Why was he in your chamber then?” Caracalla stepped away from her, he couldn't make eye contact. “He came in I didn't ask him to, he saved me from a jealous maid.”
“Oh, and he's now your knight?” Caracalla shot back. She had to think quickly about how to get out of this, “Calla please don't.” she used a nickname. Caracalla stopped, she knew his moods could switch in a second so she tested it. “Calla?” His voice turned soft, and she nodded.
“Yes, calla I would never have eyes for anyone but you.” She reached her hand out to touch his cheek and he leaned into it. “Hm, if you did I have to puck out your eyes.” He smiled and she returned it nervously.
His hand wrapped around her waist pulling her closer and resting his chin on her shoulder. She brushed her fingers through his hair, as she thought about how quickly his mood changed. He adored her now but how could he feel in a week? A day? Then next hour?

I think I cracked the code on why Viv and Brandon hate Octavia so much. They hate her because, without realizing it, they accidentally created a character who only exists to make Stolas look worse.
I mean, think about it. Now that Mastermind is out, everyone's main critique of Stolas? The fact that he's abandoned his daughter for Blitzo.
If she didn't exist, oh sure there'd still be things to critique Stolas for- him being aggressively sexual and condescending to Blitzo, his inconsistent writing, etc. But the ONE thing that so many people have been claiming takes his acts from "questionable but still sympathetic/understandable" to "outright horrendous"? His treatment of his daughter.
I think this might be why they tried to ignore her for so long too- if they don't bring attention to Octavia and how all this affects her, maybe the audience will forget she exists! And if that doesn't work, we can have her be told that Stolas is actually a good dad over and over again!
Viv and Brandon added a character who's mere existence ended up making their fav who they constantly coddle look worse, and instead of removing her early on in drafts, they kept her around and got mad at her for daring to exist.

Since I've been seeing some criticism about Ozzie not speaking up first or more during the trial to help Blitz and his team, there are a few things I'd like to point out.
For one:
Ozzie didn't seem to know that Blitz/I.M.P. were going to be on trial or else I'm sure he would have warned Fizz because that is a jarring thing for your boyfriend to see on live TV, and given the level of communication and love that these two have, it seems highly unlikely and thus means Ozzie was shocked to see them too and given very little time to prepare. :/ Speaking of time, I clocked it from when Blitz enters to court to when Satan gives his sentencing, and it's ~4min 47seconds, which includes listing the charges, Andrealphus and Vassago squaring off, Striker's part, the Sins squabbling, and Satan's outburst, so a lot of things happening in a small time frame, all while Ozzie needs to think of a way to say something in Blitz's defense without implicating himself since he more or less knew they were doing something illegal based on what Stolas said. (What's unfortunate too is that Ozzie's text messages even say that these trials don't usually last long, so the roughly 5min one for Blitz/I.M.P. could have been a long one O_O).
Also, Blitz technically already admitted that he was given the book, which is still as crime and probably would have ended the trial right there had Andrealphus not kept saying he was lying so he could lay on the accusations. -_-
Something else to consider:
Ozzie seems to have a tell whenever it involves scheming or something he's nervous about where his voice gets a higher pitch at one point or another, so being grilled on the stand is likely to bring that out. :/ Who would think that the Deadly Sin who is big on honesty and communication isn't the best liar? -_-
The only reason why he probably could get away with the "Fizz is just my business partner" lie is because he's had to tell it for ~10yrs, and even then they were still called the worst-kept secret in all of Hell. I mean, do I need to remind you of this?
(It's a good thing Fizz said something because Ozzie was like a deer in headlights right there XD ).
Plus:
Ozzie has three heads, so while he may be able to put on a poker face for his main one, he can't seem to hide how his Ram and Bull express themselves (as indicated by the first picture), which only makes it that much harder to not implicate himself or deny that Blitz and Stolas weren't doing something illegal.
Going back to the first picture, I love how his Ram and Bull heads have big eyes in surprise (it seems) because he's like "What? You know Blitz too?! Oh, thank Lucifer! You can vouch for him too and reduce the chance of questions coming at me/be my backup." I also love Bee's appreciative look too that her bestie Ozzie has her back and listened to her suggestion. ^_^
The last thing I want to say is that I saw some people thinking that Satan would have taken it easy on Ozzie because he's a royal, and while he may not kill him, you know who isn't a royal? Fizz, and Satan made it abundantly clear he thinks imp lives (and other lower class demons') have no value but to serve, so killing him or even punishing Ozzie's people doesn't seem like a ridiculous thing to believe Satan would do because he has definitely extended his reach beyond Wrath in Lucifer's absence. :/

The fact that Stolas was allowed to get away with ALL of the shit he did to Blitz by lying about what he did is honestly a little upsetting.
If Stolas confessed what ACTUALLY happened, if he confessed that he allowed Blitz to use Grimoire for sexual favors, I would maybe have more respect for him.
But he LIED. He spout out this "Mastermind" bullshit and was able to get away with abusing someone of a lower class for his sexual pleasure.
Clarification because people are being stupid:
Wasn't the whole point of Ozzie's and Ozzie/Fizz supposed to be that the idea of Demon Royalty having any sort of intimate relationship was seen as scandalous?
I'm not saying the court would have cared if Stolas abusing an Imp would have gotten him in trouble, but the fact that Stolas slept with an Imp at all would have at least caused some scandal, and Stolas could have faced societal consequences for sleeping with an Imp (in addition for letting an Imp use the Grimoire).
But that detail has been relatively inconsistent throughout the whole series, especially with Bee and Tex.
And it doesn't even matter if Stolas faced legal consequences for sleeping with an Imp, if he just admit what he did was wrong in front of Blitz, taking responsibility IN PUBLIC for his actions would have been better for their supposed "relationship"
It could have shown Blitz that Stolas DID care about him. If this was well written, it could have easily contrasted with what happened in Ozzie's. Stolas hiding his face, ashamed of being seen with Blitz in public, resulting in Blitz feeling rejected, to then Stolas telling all of the most important people in Hell that they DID have a sexual relationship, but he called it off because it didn't feel right anymore.
Like I genuinely don't understand how this is so difficult to understand. What was the point of Stolas lying about having this grand Master plan or whatever if he could have just told the truth and the outcome would have been the same???
But noooooo, we can't do something that makes SENSE in this series in order to have meaningful development, nah we gotta add random shit for no reason!!!
Stolas would have been stripped of his power anyway AND faced the consequences of what he did to Blitz AND it would have developed their relationship in a way that feels MEANINGFUL.
For some strange reason it's like the writers consistently forget things they did in PREVIOUS EPISODES
It would have been so much more impactful if Stolas just told the TRUTH!!!
Stolas faced consequences, but not for his abuse towards Blitz, he only faced the consequences for Blitz's use of the Grimoire.
And we're meant to see it as this big huge heroic romantic gesture towards Blitz????
I'm getting so sick if this shit. I'm getting so sick of Vivziepop REFUSING to actually make Stolas face the consequences for what he did to Blitz. I think she still believes he didn't actually do anything wrong.
And stripping away Stolas's title and power is just a way to try to get people to stop throwing the fact that there is a MASSIVE power in balance in Biltz and Stolas's relationship in her face.
"He's not a prince anymore! They're equals now! They can be together!!" I can hear them say.
Doesn't change the fact that when Stolas WAS a prince, he did in fact ABUSE Blitz
It WAS an abuse of power. Stolas coerced Blitz into a transactional sexual relationship by only giving him access to the Grimoire if Blitz slept with him.
I am going to make the same argument others have made because they are absolutely correct:
If Blitz was a WOMAN, yall would be losing your SHIT over how manipulative and abusive that is.
Just because Blitz said he didn't mind doing it doesn't mean it wasn't an abuse of power.
Edit: I didn't even use the main tags this time???? Where are all of yall Stolas defenders coming from?? I used the critical tags EXCLUSIVELY it's like yall are LOOKING for people to fight with
Edit #3:
I thought this was a good addition to the discussion so I'll add it to the main post so people can actually SEE IT
#i fucking hate Stolas so fucking much its not even funny anymore#helluva boss critique#helluva boss criticism#helluva boss critical#stolas critical#stolas criticism
