I know I'm sensitive as all hell so it's probably just me who feels this way, but was anyone else very uncomfortable when Bee whacked Mammon in the mouth with a dick-sicle (or whatever that thing was)? Especially after she just made fun of him for basically being unnatractive/asexual?

Like, why is there so much non-consensual shit in this show? It's non-stop with this show and it annoys the fuck out of me. Shit wasn't even remotely funny (even if you ignore the weird acephobia and all that).

When she says something mean about him, it's not even said TO HIM. And the line "I swear to fuck he just lays there staring at the wall and I have to do everything!"? Yeah, Stolas is dissociating. But Stella didn't rape him as she DIDN'T WANT TO HAVE SEX WITH HIM HERSELF. But guess what? She had to. They were both forced by their family to have heir. So I'd say that it's more their family sexually coercing BOTH OF THEM. And trying to hit Stolas and hiring Striker?... Stolas cheated. Yes, she overreacts but everything she does after Stolas' adultery is understandable (and I've said "understandable", not "justifiable")."

Still a hellaverse hater but that stolas animation is really good! (and not just because i hate him) Saw a video of someone combining the end of sinsmas and the animation to make a red mist inspired video and it really captured the feeling of red mist without being as edgy as the original story

Sai Scribble's Hazbin Hatedom Video is Cringe.

So for those who don't know, this is Sai Scribbles. A person on Youtube most known for her videos calling out Lily Orchard or if you're in the SU fandom, her comic about Spinel taking Pearl's place. I wouldn't say I was I a fan of her content, but I did enjoy listening to her videos when drawing from time to time.

But then that changes when she released her Vod talking about how the "hatedom" for Hazbin Hotel is cringe and just hating on Vivzie and the show because of misogyny and jealousy.

I had many, MANY problems with what was said in that video! So in response I decided to create a long Google Doc detailing my reactions and sharing my opinions on it.

Please note that this does NOT mean you should go and harass Sai for it as that kind of thing never solves anything. That even includes those that she talked about in her vod too. And I by no means made this to call anyone out and was instead made to voice my opinions on the matter.

Also one more thing! I want to give a huge thanks to my Discord Buddies and those on Tumblr for helping me at times with this, I wouldn’t have gotten it out now without them and I’m extremely grateful for it.

Just noticed this while scrolling/random Hazbin Hotel/Helluva Boss rant. :/ (TW: Mentions of Fatphobia, Rape, and other negative stuff.)

The fact that the show has a character, who's canonically plus size, be called a "PIG!" will never not be tasteless like- why does Vivziepop hate plus sized people who enjoy food, like- at all?

It's just so fucking stupid.

Like- she clearly has this thing where the fat characters get hated on for liking food. Which is awful because it basically spreads the message that if you're a fat person who still enjoys what you eat, at all, even if its healthier food, that there's something "wrong" with you and that you "need" to eat raw baking powder or something for the rest of your life, become anorexic, and die to be "healthy" or some shit like that.

Even Bee ends up being disgusted because "LOL ONL SKINNY PEOPLE CAN ENJOY FOOD!" bullshit. Like- the writers do realize that an apple a day or one piece of French toast isn't going to kill you if you're over 120 pounds... right? Like- what the fuck is this?

The merch and stuff even has Mammon constantly around food and its somehow meant to be "disgusting" that he does so. They also made him the sin of "greed", which surprise surprise, also has to do with food! So having the greed character as fat is also fatphobic ESPECIALLY when you make him have food EVERY.FEW.SECONDS to the point where it comes off as a mockery of people with eating disorders.

Hell, if you think about it for more than three seconds, the concept of "sin" is mainly about shaming people with disorders.

"Lust:" Hypersexuality. "Gluttony:" ED. "Wrath:" Mood Disorders. "Sloth:" Iopathic hypersomnia, "Envy: Histrionic personality disorder," "Pride:" Bipolar disorder. Which if anything, makes the ENTIRE concept of "the deadly sins" literally ableist and the fact that Hazbin Hotel exists at all, showing these "sins"/behaviors as presenting someone as a inherently "bad" person for mostly behaviors such as being a sex worker, liking porn, liking food, having mood issues, being alcoholic, and behaviors that make people NOT a "bad person" or a "joke" shows just how inherently flawed Hazbin Hotel is as a concept. I think that I could only list very few scenes where a character was shamed for something actually bad, as then there's the other extreme: Showing a bad behavior as "innocent." Stolas is shown as "innocent" for being a rapist. Valentino is treated like a "sexy goofball" by the cast of the show despite doing the same thing. The men that raped Sir Pentious are shown as "funny." Blitz's murder is overlooked constantly and has no real consequences in the show, etc. Its either a character is shamed for something not even bad or a bad behavior is overlooked. Its so goddamn toxic.

They also make him fully dressed to cover up his so called "disgusting" body when like... chubby people can also be pretty?

The creators even tried to play damage control when once again-

The creators posted that "ITS FUCKING LUNCH TIME" scene after making this post. So... this is bullshit. COMPLETE utter bullshit.

The creators clearly hate themselves and project that hatred onto their fat/disabled/and or poc characters. Also using sins to make themselves look like "better" people for not having certain disorders the same way most hyper religious people do.

They have the poc characters be rapists instead of any other type of villains (EX: Versoika and her crew, Valentino with Angel Dust, Velvette with the "love" drug she made, etc.), they had well-

-and then there's the fat characters and their merch.

When here's a reminder:

You are more than your disability.

You are NOT a "burden", "ugly", or "useless."

You are NOT "greedy" or "gluttonous" for having a eating disorder.

You are NOT "just" sexual thoughts if you're poc.

The entire concept of the "SEVEN DEADLY SINS OOOOOH YOURE GOING TO HELL FOR THIS RANDOM MENTAL AND PHYSICAL DISORDER THATS BEYOND YOUR CONTROL!" is bullshit and this shows just how ironically hyper religious Vivziepop is (transphobia and all) despite her claiming that she is "one of the good ones!"

One game I'd recommend if you're looking for something like Helluva Boss is Whacked! on the Xbox. Both are works with black comedy set in hell with funny animals and there's the seven deadly sins. Of course you might need to find an emulator or something if you wanna play Whacked! nowadays.

I've never watched it but from what I've heard Bojack Horseman is another good alternative to the Hellaverse shows, considering Viv herself has compared her shows to it.

So today I’ve decided I want to spread some positivity in the critical community and recommend different shows/movies that I think are good alternatives to the helluvaverse shows;

If you were drawn to Hazbin/Helluva because of the animation and religious themes, I would recommend my personal favorite movie, The Prince Of Egypt. I’m sure all animation fans have heard of this movie but incase you haven’t, The Prince of Egypt is beautiful animated retelling of the story of Moses from the Book of Exodus created by Dreamworks (Yes, THAT Dreamworks). It has nuanced character writing, beautiful animation and a wonderful soundtrack. If you haven’t seen it already, I recommend you do so.

If you were drawn to Hazbin/Helluva because you like media with dark themes that also have a lot of genuine heart put into them, I recommend another favorite movie of mine, The Crow (the 1994 version starring Brandon Lee). It’s the story of a man rising from the dead to avenge his fiancé after her brutal murder. It’s dark and violent but at its core it’s a story about grief and moving on. It’s a beautifully tragic yet hopeful film. I would also recommend the comics the movie is based on.

If you were drawn to Helluva/Hazbin because of its dark humor and you like adult animation in general, I would recommend The Venture Bros. It’s an unapologetically edgy yet clever animated series that parodies many famous people, media and characters such as Johnny Quest, Scooby Doo, Andy Warhol and a lot, lot more. It has surprisingly interesting and deep lore as well, and has mentioned previously the writing is insanely clever and witty. Highly recommend.

If you were drawn to Hazbin/Helluva because of its character design, I would recommend any work by Jorge R. Gutierrez (Who, fun fact, cameoed in one of the helluva boss shorts) He’s created shows such as Maya and the three and El Tigre and created the movie, The Book of Life. Jorge has a very distinct art style and his character designs are vibrant and packed with detail in the best way possible, nothing feels too much or too plain. His work often has interesting takes on figures from Mexican folklore, and his show Maya and The Three has a very big focus around mesoamerican gods, specifically Aztec and Mayan. I recommend his work.

Anyway, this is what I have written down for now, I’m well aware there’s tons more media I can put on the list and when I think of them I’ll definitely add them in a reblog. But also, what do you guys think are good alternatives to Hazbin/Helluva? I’d love to hear from the community, feel free to reblog or reply with your own suggestions and recommendations!

ALSOOO when Stella goes "Stolas is terrible in bed, I swear he just lays there and stares at the ceiling and I have to do all the work" people think she's abusing him but??? She has a right to complain??? Cause they're BOTH in this forced arranged marriage setting and they're both being pushed to produce an heir, this is something Vivz has recognised in at least one interview or something I believe, so in Stella's defence, she's also being compelled to do this and she's the one that has to actually carry and birth/lay the egg, the least Stolas could do is be a little more supportive/enthusiastic, even if he was gay??? The "laying there staring at the ceiling" shows such utter lack of cooperation to what should be a mutual thing, I GET YOU DON'T WANNA, but get off your throne of self-pity and realize SHE DOESN'T WANNA EITHER, either have the guts to stand up to your dad or be a little more cooperative??? God he pisses me off

Why does Viv try to subvert these moments that would've made Moxxie, Alastor, and Charlie a lot more badass than before? It would've showcased their development/growth, but they ended up getting the short end of the stick.

Moxxie ends up being saved by Millie, Alastor got his ass kicked by Adam and then just vanishes, and Charlie got her ass kicked, and Lucifer has to come in and kicks Adam's ass effortlessly.

Don't these characters deserve a moment of awesomeness on their own without anybody’s help? I'm not saying that it's not okay to ask for help, but these characters should've been able to handle them well on their own.

One thing I noticed in this shitshow of an episode is how fucking ungrateful Stolas was for everything Blitzø did for him since he came to his place.

Him being a spoiled rich white asshole:

Okay so anyway, I think Stolas said "Oh, when have you ever asked" bc Blitzø stole from him and his family 25 years ago. correct me if I'm wrong here but isn't it manipulative af to bring up smth that happened that long ago, also it's totally unrelated to the current situation. I swear it's like a grown ass man saying to another "Oh I still hate you because, uhm, remember that one time in 3rd grade when you stole my pencil..."

So... if Stolas still holds this against Blitzø, let me ask: why was he ever "in love" with him in the first place? Answer? He wasn't. Stolas only used this imp for his sexual fantasies and for him to get to experience his "fairytale romance"

P.S. Imps are a race his privileged ass has always been racist towards and he hasn't ever attempted to, uh... try to understand them better? Understand how they live?
