I know somebody may have said this already, but ew! Can Vivziepop not see that she had made a wretched hobgoblin or is she too blinded by her adoration for this character?

Yeah, I think that's the case, she got too caught up in the ship and didn't realize how horrible of a character he is, and simply ignores any criticism she gets, which is a shame as the show has a lot of potential

You know what? I'm glad this new short came out.

Why? Simple

This was a wake up call for both fans and critics.

We critics defend Blitz so much that, I won't say we forget, but the fact that Blitz is not a good person is in the back of our heads. And this short made us not forget, that Blitz is still, well, a piece of shit.

And for the fans it was a different wake up call, since they don't defend Blitz with the same intensity as they defend other characters, but after Sinsmas they still had the idea in their heads that I.M.P where good people, These shorts are here to remind them that no, they are not good people

There are still fans defending Blitz and saying that it was obvious since they are murderers, but a good portion were genuinely surprised that he killed an innocent person, so I think it still counts as a wake up call for a lot of them

I don't blame the fans and critics who were surprised by this, because the show tries to get across the message that our protagonists are better people than the antagonists and that we should root for them, when they clearly are not.

And I know the shorts aren't important to the main story, but I still think these points are valid.

Oh and no, just because Blitz is a piece of shit it not mean I'm going to start defending Stolas, between him and Blitz I'll still defend Blitz a thousand times over.

They biggest issue with HH/HH crossing over is that HB and HH worldbuilding don’t align. HB says there’s a hierarchy in hell and oppresses the lower class like imps and hellhounds and treats them like second class citizens yet Charlie’s main priority is to save/shelter sinners who are higher than impz and hellhounds, they’ve expressed numerous times they don’t want to change and only Charlie is an issue with them being sexual and murderous deviants, only thing sinners have to worry about is an annual extermination but only if they’re out in the open like Carmella and her daughters were. They aren’t born into servitude or pounds like imps and hellhounds only by their actions and choices they’ve committed in life is their ticket to heaven or hell.

In HB; blitz, Verosika and Barbie wire are meddling with humans by coercing them into sex, drug trafficking and murdering them thus sending them to hell. How are people suppose to have free will and a second chance if hellborns are interfering with humans and robbing them of their choices and lives. We’re also shown that sinners are terrible stupid people that love to hurt eachother so why care if they’re being killed off once a year? Emberlynn’s only crime was being cringe, yet someone in hell held a grudge and wanted her dead, same with Mr wiggler. Sinners are hiring blitz to kill people they hate back on earth because they’re petty, and i guarantee this will never be brought up in HH.

Heaven is seen as the big bad because they’re killing sinners annually so hell doesn’t rise against them. We’re shown that Adam and lute love to kill sinners. Yet in hell, overlords own slaves via soul contracts and Charlie does nothing. Rosie owns alastor and Alastor owns husk and nifty but because theyre “one of the good ones” it doesn’t matter. Valentino owns angel dust and rapes him on a daily basis which is terrible yet we’re being told the big bad is heaven? the merch and crew all fawn over Valentino so the Angel’s story isn’t treated with respect but as a fetish. Were shown sinners killing eachother/eating eachother and doing drugs, and this was a week after the extermination. You can argue that Heaven is worse because they use genocide as a fear tactic but we also see alastor killing overlords, taking their power and territory. The vees also plan on taking control of the pride ring. This is gang warfare and again they own slaves.

Ngl, before the crossover was announced, I was somewhat under the assumption that Helluva Boss was before Hazbin Hotel as that would explain the overpopulation problem.

But I guess fuck me for ever thinking!

But seriously, you are right about all of this. The lore of the shows just don't mesh well at all, and I'm kind of terrified to see how the characters will interact with one another and create a clusterfuck of a crossover.

i hate when people call hazbin hotel "indie"- helluva boss is indie, but hazbin hotel is owned by one of the biggest corpos out there. the pilot was indie, the show itself could not be further from indie.

This is plot manipulation if I've ever seen it.

Let me be clear, making Stella abusive is not the issue. The issue is the pandering the narrative does to Stolas here. Stolas is shown to us as a bright-eyed, sensitive kid. Stella, as a child as young as Stolas and in the same position as him, is shown to us as a violent and malicious heathen. It goes out of its way to establish, before they've even met, that Stella is the abuser and Stolas is the poor victim.

Viv says she was inspired by Bojack Horseman. As a HUGE fan of BH, I think her and the other writers really missed the mark. For reference, let's look at Bojack and his abusive mother Beatrice, both as children.

Do you see the difference? Do you see the way it's emphasized that they both started out as just children in shitty situations?

And they still maintain that Beatrice was a monster. They humanize her without excusing her behavior. They humanize Bojack without excusing his behavior. No one starts off as a bad person, but the fact that the HB writers try to hammer in that Stella from the start was an irredeemable monster while Stolas is the sole victim throughout his entire life doesn't sit well with me

Stolas. Andre is an unnecessary character, makes incestuous comments towards his sister, and is overall an incompetent villain, but at least he isn't racist, classist, and a 🍇ist we're meant to sympathise with

If it truly was "sex work", then the fault would still fall on Stolas because he's decided that because he has surface level romantic feelings for this sex worker that automatically means that he is owed a romantic relationship. Even if Blitz was a sex worker, he still does not owe Stolas his agency because he's only there to do his job and make a living. Sex work should never be a job people have to do out of necessity because it creates an environment where people (Blitz in this case) are forcing themselves into sexual relationship that they might not want to be in only because they may desperately need the money."

Angels, especially seraphim are entirely sexless. When they are still children they tend to look more androgynous. These two just present feminine, but still have no gender. —Emily is around sixteen here, this is when she meets Charlie. —Sera is quite old, being one of God’s oldest and wisest angels (certainly not the oldest out of all of them though). Seraphim tend to have six wings—each with an eye on the front and back, four facial wings (no eyes), and three eyes. They are also usually around 6-12 feet tall in their humanoid forms. A lot of the time, Emily is mistaken for Lucifer by a lot of angels due to the fact that she looks and acts pretty similar to how he did before he fell. Also her association with a (dusty) purple color, doesn’t help.
