Yeah, Stolas is depressed because he spent years as a repressed gay, but he could have easily divorced Stella. Yet he chose not to. He chose to leave Octavia behind not for a new partner, but for his BOOTY CALL, and have her grow up in a toxic household with a mother that's been abusive since birth, apparently. The only reason why the deal was ever initiated was bc Blitz snuck into Stolas’s palace to steal his Grimoire.

It isn't Blitz's fault that Stolas thought that the guy his dad bought for his birthday 25 years ago came to have sex w/ him. Like, what normal person sees someone they haven't seen for so long and thinks they only came back to sleep w/ them???

Blitz only FLIRTED with Stolas, pretended that he wanted sex with him and tied him to the bed to get the book, he didn't sexually coerce him. Blitz never held power in this "relationship" either and the only thing he did is give Stolas pity sex because he felt bad for him. I won't ignore or excuse Blitz's fuck ups in his relationships, but It's funny how Blitz actually cares about others (he even cared about Stolas' feelings when he decided to sleep with him), while Stolas only cares about himself and his own needs.

Blitz IS the victim in his "relationship" with Stolas (if you can even call it that), but enough people already talked about this, so I'm not gonna waste my breath. What I will say though, is that it was STOLAS who sexually coerced Blitz: he wouldn't have been able to do his job (or provide for his employees and daughter) if he had said no to him. the existence of Asmodean crystals makes no sense based on what was previously established, aka the book was the only access to the human world

If Blitz had used Stolas to spy on M&M after Stolas was nothing but kind towards him and there was no sexual coercion involved, Blitz would have been in the wrong and a real jerk. BUT I can't blame him for using Stolas after all the shit Stolas had put him through. How the hell was Blitz supposed to think to himself: "Yeah, this guy developed actual romantic feelings for me."???

Really? The misogyny card? You think if a cis man named his main lesbian character Vaggie, portrayed a primary gay relationship as a toxic power imbalance, constantly made his female characters one dimensional in favor of their male counterparts, whitewashed biblical figures, and constantly ridiculed fat characters, he wouldn't get an astronomical amount of hate?

Do you see how much hate Miraculous gets because of Thomas Astruc, a cis white man? Difference is Tommy boy blocks his critics and doesn't engage with them anymore.

Blaming bad writing on misogyny is wild

Helluva Boss seems to openly admit Stolitz as toxic, then it changes its mind and goes straight back to indulging in it. It's not accidental at this point; it's more like the writers are doubling down from not seeing it as toxic. Blitz will yell at Stolas for example, but then it immediately shifts Blitz' personality and now they're in love, like it was always gonna end this way.

I really do believe that it's only because it is MLM, and because the writers clearly really do see Stolas as the victim. It all feels pre-meditated though. Helluva Boss genuinely thinks we should love and feel bad for Stolas, and that goes back as far as S1E2, as the episode opened up with a sad little Stolas song to shift his character into being taken seriously. That was the first time we saw him being a sad guy who's done no wrong.

They've also always characterized Stolas as depressed, lonely, weirdly soft; the narrative has always framed him as an innocent dad trying his best. And Blitz has always been this jerk guy from the start.

It seems like they think Stolas is redeemable because he's framed in a softer light. Like none of what he does is his fault, or that his actions & personality can be excused because he has good intentions. But then they'll frame Blitz' past in the same light.

"I did the bad thing, but it's not my fault because my life is worse." Like... the writer's actual morals have bled into these characters almost. They can't just have flaws, or grow and change, but they must be excused or completely villainized depending on who it is.

In the Hellaverse:

- Angel Dust gets excused for assaulting Husk

- Husk gets blamed for not liking that

- Stolas gets excused for assaulting Blitz

- Blitz is villainized for not "loving" him back. By Stolas, the narrative, and Verosika

- Blitz was forced to change for Stolas. Husk was forced to have a heart to heart apology with a guy who doesn't even respect him.

It is such backwards thinking. I never thought protagonist centered morality could go quite THIS far but here we are. The writers' thoughts on display, for all to see. And no wonder the viewers can't come to their own conclusions; Helluva Boss doesn't want you to and it will never let you.

Hazbin Hotel will never truly be about redemption either. The writers wouldn't even know where to start.

I know we're supposed to view Stella as one dimensional and all, but what about these incestuous comments from Andrealalphus? I feel like they accidentally give her more depth.

The comments could imply that Andrealphus was weirdly sexual towards his sister before. If I grew up with a sibling who made sexual comments about me I'd turn out fucked up too

Not only this, but Andre probably kept insulting Stella's lack of intelligence for years, which explains why she cares so much about status and hates imps. She thinks she's got nothing else going for her, and the mere existence imps reminds her of who she doesn't want to be; worthless. So, Stella sees imps as worthless (because, in Hell's society, they ARE), and since Stolas cheated on her with one, that explains her outrage. If Stolas found a creature at the bottom of the barrel worthy enough to willingly sleep with him but could never show an ounce of enthusiasm while he had sex with her, that means she really IS worthless ─ worth less than an imp.

But the thing that confuses me is that the audience is supposed to believe Stella cares about her public image, but for some reason she had no problem talking smack about Stolas and their sex life in front of other rich people so idk. Shouldn't she avoid bringing up their terrible marriage to others? I mean, she's associated with Stolas, so her status would have 100% suffered if these people had spread the word
