I’m definetly the black sheep in my family for many reasons, but over time as I’ve been becoming more comfortable with being a bit different, and really enjoying getting to personalize myself (tattoos, nose piercings, dyed hair, a tad of alternative fashion)

It was hard for my parents to adjust to the things I liked doing. Chokers, facial piercings, and platform boots were a BIGGGG stretch for them.

But they learned, that if their daughter who they knew liked these things, then these things did not define the person, because now their daughter was one of “those people”

My mom sent me a photo with her new friends today.

Two amazing ladies, tattooed and pierced and looking dope as hell, hanging out with my 40+ year old mama. To think a year ago a nose piercing would have made her uncomfortable…

My mom’s learned so much… even just from me, because I chose to be who I wanted to be, despite being the first in my family to do so in this way.
