Listen listen listen the ending of act two is incredible because Isha's choice and what Jayce does to Viktor is perfectly aligned with the series as a whole. Arcane is a story about a lot of things, and one of it's main things is the fear of death and the inability to let people go. We see this is several instances, with Silco saving Jinx with shimmer, when Jayce saves Viktor, Singer trying to cheat death to save his daughter, Cait looking for revenge in other to "preserve her mom's legacy" and it's even hinted at in Ambessa's arc ("you should have given up the feud"). It's about the inability to accept that what's done it's done and how that throws people in a constant cycle of violence and desperation, sometimes subjecting the loved person to more suffering then before.
When Isha does what she does she is not only (tragically) accepting that she herself will die, but she is also freeing Vander. For the first time in this series we see a character accepting that there is no way out and deciding that somethings, even the lovely moments and people you care for, must end.
Jayce kills Viktor, and is also, in some twisted way, letting him go. But in the other hand he isn't doing the same as Isha, it is also a way to escape, to avoid some awful destiny that we as the audience don't know yet. Death, in this case is not relief or understanding, it is another way to prolong some kind of existence.
Arcane as a series is always asking us, how far would you go for someone else's life? Even if this curses them to a life of suffering? Even if it fundamentally changes them?
And it is always helping us understand that there isn't a right answer.

Carmy always had the vibe, the vision for something new, and the idea of making the restaurant different. It was never Mikey’s idea—it was his. In a way, his dialogue mirrors Sydney's; they have that same desire.
As we know, after Mikey died, the restaurant became less about building something new and more about trying to turn back time to fix what went wrong between him and Mikey- maybe in a way to save Mikey and break the cycle? Then Sydney came along—a Chef who shared his original vision and understood that things had to change. She became someone who wanted to break cycles with him.
He says the right things—"our menu," or "I wouldn’t even want to do it without you." But what happens if he actually has to move forward without Sydney physically present? Would he be able to carry that vision on his own?
He wouldn't because, in 1x08, he doesn't even try and ultimately gives up when she leaves. He decides to keep things the same. Then she comes back, and he's ready to change again—but not because he has to save Mikey. He wants to break a cycle for her... so she could stay?
Maybe.

an underrated funny Star Trek moment: the part in “Mirror, Mirror” where McCoy is like “If we’re here in the evil universe, what are our evil counterparts doing in our universe?” And then it immediately cuts back to their universe, in which Spock is wrestling the evil counterparts into the brig because he’s already figured out exactly who they are and what happened

It's something about this scene…
Tumblr media
It's something about this scene and how the Angel who would become Crowley can't create the universe alone. He needs a partner.
It's something about this scene and how Aziraphale, while holding the plans, asks "which way up does it go?" and Crowley simply dismisses the question and says "just hold it tight" because to Crowley there is no difference between up and down, or Heaven and Hell, it's all the same.

It's something about this scene and how Aziraphale holds the plans right in front of his heart for Crowley to "prime the engine" and how maybe what Crowley was jumpstarting in that moment wasn't only the nebula, but also love in the universe (not to mention the colors, a smattering of reds and blues and pinks).
Tumblr media
And it’s something about this show and how it manages to do all that within the first two minutes of the first episode of season 2....
