I can't get over the excitement he has while he's drawing it, thinking he's Picasso "I was kind of proud of it" ��

And I LOVE when he spontaneously bursts out laughing a second time after realizing his limited drawing skills.

S3 actually made me like her way more and understand her more. She's a battle-worn mother. I really loved in S2 when she fought for her girls and sent Cousin Jack packing. Loved that moment!

One thing people don’t talk about enough is the scene where Portia finds out the truth about Pen being Lady Whistledown. Penelope has hurt Portia over and over (which does not take away from the fact that she also hurt Pen OKAY 🤚🏼) but nonetheless, she has a right to be upset at finding out that her daughter has sown the seeds of her own family’s ruin for years.

But it takes her all of a minute and a half to go from hurt to protect mode. She doesn’t want Penelope to jeopardize her marriage over this, and even when Penelope tells her she will tell Colin anyway, she is right there beside her ready to scheme Penelope out of this if she needs to.

None of this changes that Portia overlooked Pen for years and Portia herself admits to this. But this woman loves her daughters and imo, her love is the fiercest on the show. It just isn’t soft because she hasn’t ever had an example of soft love and she‘s existed in survival mode for so long that it wasn’t something affordable to her.

She is flawed but she is a mother!

We joke but the fact NO ONE bats an eye when Penelope and Colin are unchaperoned in broad daylight, or the way they keep to themselves in the corner of balls and other events, speaks a lot of how little the ton considers Penelope as a desirable debutante. Fife and co mock Colin for his friendship with her. Portia catches them alone in a room and somehow doesn't jump on the YOU MUST MARRY train. Even Anthony, albeit s1 Anthony so he's a bit dumb, comments that Colin has danced multiple times with Penelope yet it does not signify.

Side note but I would kill to see his reaction when he hears Colin interrupted Penelope's and Debling's dance lol.

Everyone sees Colin running after Penelope multiple times this season, and everyone assumes it's out of pity, rather than care. Like she's not even the one chasing him, he's the one doing it in all four episodes!

Never in their wildest fantasies could they imagine Colin Bridgerton being interested in Penelope Featherington indeed. And oh boy, are they in for a rude awakening! Because that boy is already loud with his actions when he wasn't even aware of his feelings, but he's gonna be even louder with his words to make sure everyone understands how much Penelope Featherington is beloved by him.
