I really love the way that SM-33 switched sides during the “claimsies” argument because to me it was a reminder that for all the fun the show’s had with 33 being beholden to the pirate code, he’s still fundamentally a Star Wars Droid.

Throughout the show we’ve seen that 33 is not just thematically pirate-coded, but he’s also often been bound by rules in a way that is fairly common for robots in media. He doesn’t remember “no At Attin”, he attacks the kids when reminded of his orders, etc. While this is behaviour that is normal for a typical robot, 33 isn’t just a robot— he’s specifically a Star Wars droid, and Star Wars has always shown droids to be sentient beings capable of “emotional” attachments.

So of course 33 accepted that claimsies was close enough, because fundamentally he wanted to be on the kids side. He’s been waiting the whole show for viable reasons to attack Jod because despite being constrained to his programming, he still has his own personality and opinions.

TLDR 33 isn’t just a robot, he’s a droid who’d been waiting for the chance to have a go at Jod

IF (if if if if if if if!) Jod was a Jedi during order 66, I do not think he was a Padawan, the show's setting and Jude Law's own age (of course Jod isn't necessarily the same age as his actor, but given its not officially stated, it's a fair assumption to make) of 9 aby and 51-52 respectively means Jod was born around 43-42 bby, meaning he would be 23-24 years old at the time of order 66, he could certainly be an older Padawan, but it's just as probable that he was a young knight, and that's what makes thing interesting

As we have already seen, Jod's first priority is himself (selfishness is the path of the dark side) and HE WILL KILL in the name of himself

And to that 3nd I wonder, what if Jod survived Order 66 by betraying his fellow Jedi?

What if his first act of selfishness and darkness was to leave his Jedi brethren to die in Order 66? What if Jod saw his choice was to save himself or risk his life for someone else.... and he chose himself

Which also goes a nice way of explaining his warped understanding of attachments, he survived by refusing to care for someone else and only looking out for himself

And for an extra twist of the knife, to show how horrifying the current situation is, to show just how dangerous Jod is to the kids, that he was not bluffing in his threat to them...

Would be funny if Jod Na Nawood was such a space-failure that he was kicked out of the jedi before he even became a padawan.

Imagine he got taken as a kid and trained up to become a padawan but all the Jedi Masters were like: “nah the force isn’t compelling me to train him”

And he then just got slapped into the service corps before he could ever properly continue. That’s why his skills with the force and a lightsaber are so bare bones (from what we’ve seen thus far). But he still got the jedi code rattling around up there and haunting him.
