The path further into the floating mountains was all the worse to navigate thanks to the lack of light, the only useful guides you had were the faintly flickering bioluminescent lights from the forest deep below. The branches twisting around each other to create a naturally built bridge from mountain to mountain benefited from this, contrasting as a clear obscured line to your eyes against the glow underneath.
The easiest part of your journey, in hindsight, was just skipping along this line.
You weren’t exactly happy about this.
The more you left behind, the more you were freaked out that Neteyam or anyone else was onto your intentions already and hot on your trail right this moment. Imagining father making a beeline to you in the air with Bob, a cruel, merciless whistling arrow, made you all jittery and almost puking kind of nervous, pulling at the depths of your stomach.
Your rationality told you that it was a half an hour walk to your spot from the tent, and Neteyam would be hurrying the more he thought he wasn’t able to catch up with you along the way, so you had around twenty minutes until the whole family was panicking and raising the clan to look for you.
Tuk had gone missing once thanks to some hide and seek game with Lo’ak (she’d hidden so well and was waiting for her siblings to find her already, blindly sticking to the game for an entire day, not out of stubbornness but childish purity), and this was exactly what had gone down —
the resentful part of you questioned if father thinks of you highly enough to resort to that.
If something happened to you, he would maybe urge your brothers to search for you for a while, and drop it then — leaving you to your own devices happily.
Maybe.
Were you even worth it in his eyes for a search party? You wondered if he cared enough that you disappeared.
But that was a stupid, childish thought you knew you fantasized about a lot — perhaps this was why he’d called you immature. This was no mindset for a strong, independent, confident hunter. The thought father was right, even a miniscule bit was bitter on your tongue, worse than what he called black coffee.
Disappearing so you’d find out just how much he cared was unfair to mom, for one.
She had lost so much in such a short amount of time, the stories she sang poignantly about were hard to listen to without tearing up. Her home. The trees of voices, all the lost ancestors. Her father. Uncle Tsu’tey. Her first ikran, Seze. Loss upon loss you think there’d be nothing left to give anymore, but sky people’s fire was always hungry, always willing to waste more to grow bigger.
You wouldn’t forgive yourself for making her cry in your pursuit to punish father. Never.
You weren’t a child.
Just wanted to be one, sometimes.
Wanted father to babytalk you, pet your head longer than a passing touch as he walked away hurriedly to attend to other matters, make beads for your braids the way he always did from pretty stones he found on ponds, carve you little trinkets when you graciously had to give up your toys to Lo’ak and Kiri’s greed.
Your neck piece was all them in fact, he’d see it if he ever paid enough attention, or perhaps it was all insignificant to him, five kids meant countless belongings for each individual child had been passed down from his hands, it would be a miracle for father to recognize you still wore his clumsy creations. But again, it had been too long since he’d even looked at you affectionately, he wouldn’t See.
He’d transferred those habits entirely to Neteyam at one point in time.
Your older brother would always ruffle Lo’ak’s hair and tease him the way father used to, comfort him in his own playful way, and even though the younger looked discontent at being babied, you knew he was happy Neteyam was quite literally his shadow to look after him through tough times — including shielding from father’s line of fire. In return, he was suffering from being a foil to the older son, you understood the struggle because you were going through the same comparison, you just weren’t obsessed with catching and living up to father as much as Lo’ak did.
Win some, lose some, I guess.
Plus, Neteyam was trembling under the massive planet-weight pressure, he had to set the standard, he had to live up to the older brother title. He was becoming more of a father figure to Tuk as days passed and the Olo’eyktan became more transparent from his family’s life as a dad to five.
Besides, Lo’ak made trouble enough for two people to go around that you felt bad for your big brother, Kiri was thankfully more mellow (despite frequently hanging out together with him and Spider) compared to him that Neteyam could breathe, not having to divide his attention.
You were in awe of her about how disconnected she was from all the changing dynamics. She had her own problems you could never understand, more spiritual than your grandmother, and ever the ethereal soul who you thought would disappear into Eywa if flesh wasn’t holding her down to Eywa’eveng.
You were the teeniest, tiniest bit jealous of her (and Tuk) holding the softer sides of father, the boys thought he was deliberately softer because they were girls — but you were also a girl, so why weren’t you allowed in?
Well, thanks to that, you’d gotten closer with Neteyam and known him better after the whole clan had settled on High Camp, so it wasn’t all that bad. You could badmouth father all day long sitting on some rock and make him laugh abashedly, guilty that he was smiling along with the trashing of the father’s name he respected so much — it was therapy, as Norm had taught humans frequently sought back on earth. It got you trying some things with Neteyam, becoming more of a companion and ranting buddy for him who he could be honest and open with, so that he didn’t have to worry about taking up a larger role in your life to fill father’s missing presence. You were concerned about him more than he could be concerned about you.
That got you contemplating if father had noticed how comfortable his two oldest children were with each other that it was always Neteyam who he sent after you. A girl could dream, no? For one moment, it wasn’t because it was Neteyam’s responsibility, but because father was paying attention to how his kids got along.
The image of him pushed you to be frantically fast to reach your destination as the fear returned with might. If he caught you right now when you had no ikran to prove him wrong, the punishment he was sure to give would be way more humiliating, you at least wanted something in your name to taunt him with if you were going down anyways.
A smile crept up your face at imagining him discombobulated and speechless, unable to pick out one thing that you did wrong.
The carelessness that came with your speed combined with how dark it was to see where to clutch and put your feet on caused you to slip up countless times when climbing, the sharp rocks scraping the insides of your palms and insides of your forearms, lifting your skin up. What you cared about more than the pain was that the blood was now tracking material for your family to sniff you out — you couldn’t exactly wipe the rocks clean, so you carried on with a hammering heart, more afraid of father ruining your perfect moment than whatever ikran that would soon be going straight for your throat.
At least you were able to wash the blood off your hands in the waterfall.
Downside? You couldn’t see shit. With your bare back flushed straight to the wall of rock and your feet feeling out the thin edge, the shrill cry of ikrans and the roaring of water was about to overwhelm your senses too much to pay attention —
and you slipped.
The shriek that ripped out of you at the sensation of falling and the drop of your stomach alone almost made you pass out, and for a split second it was a good thing that you wouldn’t feel the moment you died, but your body, once again, was one step ahead of you, it twisted in the air the last second and your hands gripped the ledge.
The wet rock and your blood made all that your life was hanging on slippery as you dangled into the abyss, swaying with the strong winds at this height.
You didn’t know if it was the adrenaline or the nervousness, but something made you laugh out loud, and the bubbling laughter continued until you were able to pull yourself up safely at the ikran rookery, finally.
Looking around like a fish out of water, how you hadn’t cracked your skull open shooting down to the forest below was a total miracle.
You’d made it?
No one was there to witness what you just pulled off in total darkness. Your whole body was shaking, and you weren’t even chosen by an ikran yet. This was happening. Shit. This was totally happening!
Your excited and terrified, “Hell yeah!” went unheard apart from your aerial crowd.
But.
One among them answered your holler with its own that cut into the night like a battle horn. It was the closest one to you that was apparently watching you the whole time, starting to roar at you and twitching on its feet, shadow in the night informing you of its movements.
You’d seen from Neteyam and Lo’ak’s iknimayas that you only had a few seconds to pull your shit together until it attacked, this was meant to be dangerous, serious, you could end up as a late night snack to them if things went wrong, but you couldn’t stop grinning from ear to ear that it had chosen you.
You were chosen.
It wanted you as its rider.
If only father could see you now. The sensation of being the one — being special was unmatched. Now you could somehow get the fraction of the high he must have felt as Toruk Makto.
The, “Let’s fucking go!” that left you kept echoing into the night as you lunged at it, dodging to the left when it snapped at your head, hooking one arm around the ikran’s slender neck and clamping your legs around it the moment it started thrashing around wildly.
You didn’t know why father had made a big deal out of it. You formed tsaheylu in no time, breaking Neteyam’s record — and you didn’t even have the rope to hoop around its neck and jaw.
Firstborn daughter excellence.
Confidence restored and triumphing wildly to the pulse of your heart, the flickering smile on your face in wonder turned into a full-fledged smirk. At that moment, nothing mattered. It was just you and your victory. Proving father wrong.
Feeling the ikran’s lifeforce through the bond, a shiver went down your back as his beady eye looked up at you, pupil shrinking and expanding rapidly while you both took a minute to catch your breaths after the fierce wrestling.
“Gotcha,” you panted. “You’re mine now.”
The adrenaline made everything sparkle and shine, your spirits soaring high and unbothered about literally anything else in the world, and for one glorious moment, lost in the memories of your brothers’ iknimayas boasting with cheers from the clan and sometimes encouraging, sometimes fearful screams of your parents, your spirit sought them out to be soaked in the same pride — forgetting that it was night and nobody was there to celebrate you.
You were all alone.
The smile dropped from your face and crashed down like paper thin porcelain upon the slightest movement.
Right.
You’d forgotten you were doing this out of spite. It snuffed every twinkle of magic away from the previously shimmering milestone of your life.
Your ikran felt the crushing disappointment through your connection and chirped at you, almost like an excited sibling pulling on your arm to show you something, weirdly comforting. Mom’s ikran was a spitfire, but also nurturing — this one felt different somehow, you felt him bouncing from wall to wall in your head, hyperactive and cheerful.
Flying! He wanted to fly!
The first flight sealed the bond, after all.
You weren’t alone even if none of your family members were here to share the joy — you had your new buddy. And the drop of gravity was thrilling this time, not the terrifying chaos that had your asshole shriveling up as it was when you’d missed your step.
The flights with mom were something you looked forward to, drying up in frequency as you aged, you’d missed the wind on your body and the greenery dancing below as you maneuvered in the air — but mom reserved nighttime rides for father only, and after the move to High Camp, the skimpering chance you could get your way if you begged cutely enough was gone too. You’d never flown at night.
The sight was out of this world. The stars leaving a glowing trail above you, the forest pulsing with faint purple, green and blue lights underneath, everything was elevated in beauty because darkness let them shine.
You made loops in the air with your ikran, got as high in the air as you could before your breath thinned, and scraped at the tips of trees before shooting up again, all the while laughter you’ve never screamed before bubbled out of you.
And you were all alone. There was no mom to gleefully taunt your ikran with hers to get both of you dancing in the air. There was no father to watch on with a small smile he was fighting. There was no Neteyam to stop you from dipping too close to the ground, and no Lo’ak to challenge you to get closer to race with him — no Kiri to complain how all of you were being so childish, how stupid this was all the while she was the worst of you all, instigating all the chaos.
No Tuk in your mom’s lap whining about you guys leaving her off the fun.
Instead, there was the scent of a bogey in the air, snapping you out of the haze of sorrow.
When had you ventured out further into unprotected territory?
Linked with your thought process, the ikran stopped advancing forward and started beating his wings downward to stay unmoving, you observed the surroundings to get a better feeling of where you were, and noticed this was around the old shack, artificial lights were gliding between the leaves and branches that obscured your view of just who was roaming the grounds at night, definitely not a natural part of the forest’s flora.
Father’s voice materialized in your head, drilled into you and your siblings’ heads over and over again. If you come across any threat at all, do not engage, fall back and inform me. Got it? You call for me first.
And that split second of being afraid was your death sentence — that father would be so angry at you for your ignorance, amateurism, carelessness and idiocy that he could throw you out of the family for almost leading the demons to base simply by being there that they could figure out what direction you’d come from. That moment of weakness was enough for someone to snipe you out, and get you falling down from your ikran straight into the forest below, the cries of your new friend falling silent on your ears as you did your best to hug giant leaves to cushion your fall to the best of your ability. .
Barely any time was left for you to shake the disorienting motion sickness off, you couldn’t even attempt to run into the accepting, protective hands of the forest before whoever just shot at you was onto you, harshly gripping your arms and raising you up.
Father’s gonna be so mad if he finds out. Shit, I gotta get out of this.
But… Avatars? In full camo, armored, even. You hadn’t heard of this from anybody in camp!
“Damn! Didn’t actually think you’d be able to land the shot from all of that tree, man! Up-top!”
Two of them high-fived, you were actually going to be sick.
Thumb between his belt and stomach, another Avatar strutted towards you. The saunter and confidence meant that he was their leader. “Now, now… What do we have here?”
“A native.” You were being pushed down on your knees, one hand being grabbed and shown like a trophy. Just how many were there? You couldn't calm yourself enough to focus! “Four fingers.”
The speaker this time was a woman. “How unusual. Those monkeys don’t leave their coven at night.”
“Where were you flying, little bird?” The leader, a sleazy smirk on his face, leaned down to take a good look at you. “Leading away from the nest, perhaps?”
“She don’t understand, Colonel, don’t bother. Ya think Sully could ever manage teaching one word of English to those?”
“Watch how she learns in three seconds.” He yanked on your queue so hard you saw white light in this hour of darkness — and when your vision came back, a screen with your father’s face was being shoved to your face. “Jake Sully. Toruc Mactoe. Where is he?”
You screamed when he pulled with increasing strength, keeping up with the act you didn’t understand. And the state of pain and terror massively helped, contributing to you looking frantic and lost, only knowing that you were being zapped to your core.
“Seems like I don’t need to ask you.” His fingers snapped your head back to get a good look at your earpiece, late to notice you had it on at all because of the dark. “Can directly ask the man himself.”
All you could form to think was, ‘Father’s gonna kill me for this. He’s actually gonna kill me this time.’
You weren't terrified of what the Avatars would do to you. You were afraid of him.
One empty shell from the reloaded machine gun flew away, tinkling hollow when it fell down, and rolled until it stopped in a small pool of water that had formed on the jagged ground of the cave systems. In the scarlet and orange glow of the campfire he’d haphazardly put together right outside of their home out of impatience after Neytiri had basically thrown him out, Jake almost mistook the liquid for blood.
An ominous cloud of dread settled on his shoulders, a paranoia every father tended to go through.
“Big Brother, this is Devil Dog. State your status, over.”
Neteyam didn’t miss a beat to answer, thankfully. “Devil Dog, this is Big Brother. I’m still en route to Foxcove, over.”
“How much longer?”
“Ten minutes at best, sir. Over.”
What he wanted to say was how come he hadn’t met you halfway, but it was empty talk. No need to stress the boy out. “Devil Dog signing out.”
This girl was half the reason for the wrinkles on his forehead, Jesus Christ. He was basically waiting you out like a father sitting in the dark to ambush his daughter who had snuck out at night, for that single glorious moment of yeah that’s right, you got caught, after the light would come on to ruin that moment of relief of successfully making it back in.
His mate had scolded him to be nice and understanding, a Marine was anything but, the closest he could compromise was not being as mean to you than he had to be. Sassing, “So how was your Iknimaya?” like he planned was out the window — Neytiri was spot-on to say the girl would simply give the same mean energy right back at him, and that could only mean another erupting volcano of a fight and a good night’s sleep ruined for him, overthinking where he went wrong and how else he could have salvaged the situation.
He’d just make you tend to the ikrans for a week for some patience practice, cleaning shit for hours on a daily basis would certainly throw the temporary whim of the rite of passage hyperfixation out of your system. The possibility of you shouting you hated him was unavoidable, but Jake had to get his point across, no matter how terribly it nauseated him to hear something like that from his child.
It was strange to remember he couldn’t care less for what people thought of him in the past. Some shithead he wouldn’t give a rat’s ass about hated Jake’s guts? Good. He was living in their head rent free, it was fun even — Neytiri too, Jake absolutely enjoyed her hating game at first.
Being legitimately resented by his very own child, though, was a heartbreak he didn’t expect to hurt him the way it did, knocking air off his lungs the first time he heard it. A burning stab right in his heart that wouldn’t go away until he had to hear it for himself you hadn’t meant any of what you said.
Because that said hate actually stemmed from hurt Jake must have inflicted. Because you could actually despise him, and never allow him to reconnect with you again if he could ever manage to garner the courage to reach out to you — a mightier challenge than hunting Toruk in the sense it actually scared him.
His teenage daughter. Scared him.
Jake didn’t know what to do about it, he couldn’t even show what exactly this made him feel, too ashamed and proud for it in the first place.
The growing distance between you and him was an uneasy, frightened bird he tried to shush and calm in his heart in favor of other pressing matters that drilled small holes in the depths of his stomach, and over time, those little holes had fused together to create one big pit with greater gravitational pull than the sun — until Jake didn’t know how to stitch them back together anymore.
He told himself he would talk to you later, for sure. The morning after every argument, every fight, every jab from you he snapped at he would try to make amends for, definitely.
And then he didn’t.
“What is this, are you palulukan ambushing prey? I told you to make up with her, not prepare for hunting.”
Jake shook his head, dropping the machine gun back inside the crate. The warmed metal was some sort of consolation to his nerves. Marine habit. Always felt safer with a gun near. (Or was it the American in him?) “Neytiri,” he acknowledged, bobbing his head. “I’m just passing time.”
“What do you think will happen when she comes back and sees you waiting for her like this?”
Ah, like the old times when Jake couldn’t do one thing right in her eyes. “Yes, ma’am,” he said playfully, but with no mirth behind it, closing the crate with a muffled thunk. With nothing to do with them, one elbow went to his knee and the other hand’s fingers started a rhythm on the lid he’d just shut.
His mate’s hand gingerly came down on his shoulder, kneading the nerves. “Just talk to her, Ma’Jake.”
“I don’t know how to,” he admitted, he covered her fingers on her shoulder with his, and she immediately held his hand back. “Don’t know what to even tell her.” He gave an exhale from the deeper, tired parts of his soul, gazing at the path leading away from their tent. “With Neteyam and Lo’ak, it’s easy. I tell ‘em what to do and they—”
Neytiri took a seat next to him, gathering their hands together. “Suffer just the same.” Jake was about to brush her off, but she didn’t relent. “What you’re doing is hurting them.”
This now was about all of their children rather than you, specifically. Neytiri was trying to get him to see the bigger picture first before moving to cover what he did wrong with each child of his, they had had this conversation countless times before.
Here we go again, Jake thought.
“Doesn’t matter if that’s what it takes to keep them safe.”
“Does it?” Neytiri leaned in, and calmness washed over him despite the disturbing nature of what she was saying. “Does it keep them safe? Or push them to act out more, get in worse situations?”
He grimaced. “I have to—”
“You feel like you have to.” His mate shook their clasped hands, rattling his bones. “I keep my children safe with trust and honesty. Transparence, Ma’Jake. So that they listen to me when I mean it because they See me. You shut them out.” Her lips bared to show her pearly teeth as she was practically beseeching him. “You don’t get your children’s trust by treating them like a squad.”
“They trust me plenty.”
“They trust Olo’eyktan. Toruk Makto. What about their father?”
“I make sure they’re safe.” Neytiri dropped his hands with an agitated snarl, she thought they were back at the beginning again, he couldn’t make her truly understand no matter what he did. He poured his heart out through their tsaheylu everytime, but her values and beliefs were wired so differently from his at the end of the day. “I make sure they stay where I want them to stay for their own good.” Jake shook his head, his voice soft, hushed. No force behind it when Neytiri was heated in return. “One day they’ll understand.”
“They won’t if you never tell them.”
“Tell them what?” Jake asked. “That I’m being harsh on them to prepare them for war? You think they’ll take it seriously after this?”
“Na’vi were in war long before you. There will be wars after you. No parent sullied his child’s happiness for the price of becoming a warrior. You still don’t get our ways even after all these years.”
“The sky people’s way,” Jake emphasized with his arms. “I have to teach them how they think, what they go through, so they know what they’ll be facing, okay? I can’t simply teach them by telling them.”
“You’re deluding yourself, Jake. Contradicting.” Neytiri was gentle in her cruelty, the flickering flames burned less than her amber eyes. “Tuk and Kiri are getting none of this. I know your heart isn’t allowing you. Why can’t you do the same for your other children?”
Because he had gone too far already with the older three.
Trial and error.
He couldn’t take back the things he did and say back — and quite honestly? Jake was being pulled from all sides to sit down and rethink his parenting. All he thought anymore was how to protect his family, frequent nightmares of losing his children in gruesome ways were haunting his every step.
A father protects his children, that’s what gives him meaning.
Jake had his own desperate ways to do so.
He opened his mouth to say something back, anything, but was interrupted by the communication line coming on. “Dad.”
Jake immediately knew something was wrong, body sitting ramrod straight. If the frantic breathing and barely controlled voice wasn’t any indication of it, his eldest’s behavior was. Neteyam didn’t slip up in the codenames like Lo’ak did, dropped all formalities only when he was borderline panicking.
“Dad. I’m sorry, dad, sir, I can’t find her, dad, I’ve looked everywhere around here, I thought maybe she was hiding underwater, behind rocks—but I can’t, I can’t—.”
“Slow down.” Jake could barely contain his own panic rising from the state his son was in. The boy wasn’t able to see it, but he couldn’t stop himself from leaning in as if Neteyam was right in front of him, and started gesturing with his hand. “Slow down, son.”
“Dad—”
Jake tsk-ed. “Neteyam, slow. Slow.”
Neytiri took his elbow. “What is it?”
He told her to wait with his gaze, and turned his attention back to Neteyam. This could only mean one thing, he was praying to be wrong — needed clarification. “Now tell me calmer. What’s going on?”
“She’s never been here. She never came here in the first place. There’s no sign of her. No trace. I’ve tracked.”
Jake’s instant response was fear. Domineering, ice-cold, cutting fear. Bodily and emotionally both. You were clockwork, similar to him in having unchanging routines and patterns. Angry? Went for a walk. Depressed? No talking to anyone until it passed. Happy? Wanted to go to the forest to spend time with your siblings and always craved sweet fruit. Didn’t want to be around anyone? Hid in the little bioluminescent cove with a pond two little mountains away, always. Always.
Neytiri sensed this, observing the change of demeanor in him.“Ma’Jake?”
“Okay, son.” He seized back control. One missing child was enough. “Stay right there and don’t move. I’ll contact you.”
“Yes, sir.”
“Jake,” Neytiri hissed finally, at the end of her ropes.
“She didn’t go to the cove,” he said, face icy neutral as always, but his eyes showed dizzying concern. Neytiri put a hand on her mouth as Jake wasted no time in changing channels. “Night Owl, this is Devil Dog. Come in.” He couldn’t even wait two seconds before trying again. “Night Owl, what is your status? Where are you?”
Silence.
The more fear dug deeper into his skin, the more his anger and annoyance soared up, his tail was whipping the air erratically, the finger on the earpiece could send the metal right into his brain with how hard he was pressing on it. “I know you can hear me. This is no time for playing games. You know what you did to your brother? Do you know how panicked he was, not being able to find you—”
Then Jake remembered what Neytiri advised, he didn’t change strategies because she was right next to him to dig his eyes out, but because his heart was picking up its pace by the second. “Tell me where you are, I’ll leave you alone, I promise, alright? If you’re somewhere open, get to safety, I’m only asking this from you. Or else—”
“Don’t.” Neytiri raised a warning finger at him, voice just above a whisper so they could hear their daughter if she decided to cut in. “Threaten her.”
He couldn’t stop her from snatching the communication device off of him. “Ma’ite, it’s mom. Can you talk to me at least?”
His ears twitched at picking up on you responding, not quite making out the words.
Jake’s eyes shut close for a long time as his whole eyebrow line migrated upwards, he physically had to get a few steps between him and the earpiece so the obliviating worry that’d almost blinded him wouldn’t cause him to say something he’d greatly regret later. He could feel himself deflating. A migraine could be coming anytime soon.
You wouldn’t even acknowledge his existence but the moment your mother interrupted, you did? Fine. Fine. He didn’t care. Jake could live with it. At least you were alive.
A rippling shudder shook him the moment that thought hit him, an image of you lying dead in a ditch, pale blue, flashing in his mind, he had to run a hand down his face.
When Jake looked back, irked by the silence, he found Neytiri standing completely stock-still. And all of a sudden, her petrifying glare was on him, ears pinned all the way back, hands gradually starting to tremble.
“Neytiri?”
She wordlessly handed him the device, and with a deep frown, Jake put it back in his ear.
“Hi there Corporal, you hear me? Yeah, I know you do. As much as I’m charmed by the fatherly love I could give you a big old sloppy wet kiss, we have unfinished business.”
And the ground disappeared right under Jake’s feet, plunging him into hell itself.

Helloo! Can i have kim dokja x reader where its like reader and yjh at first hate each other but over time they start getting close (slight yjh x reader if you want) and dokja starts seeing them being close and gets jealous (i love dokja being jelly)
(sorry its a bit hard to read😓 have a great day and stay hydrated !)
Yall love jealous kim dokja goddamn
Jealous Kim Dokja x reader
Platonic Yoo Joonghyuk x reader (like a sibling dynamic)
heres some father son time with kdj and gilyoung (wingman!!)
Im sorry btw if you think it's short, i struggle with writing long stories 😭😭😭
When Dokja first told you about the novel he was reading, you felt bad for the main character. But jeez...meeting him in real life? Man you just wanted to curse him out!
During one of the scenarios, you had all split up, pulling sticks to see who'd get paired with who, and you just happened to be paired with Joonghyuk. As you both walk around, an elderly lady walked up and offered some food. After evaluating it, you decided it was safe.
"We don't n-" Before he could finish, you kicked the back of his knee and made him kneel, pushing his head down.
"Thank you granny!" You smiled at the lady, "I'm also so sorry for his actions, you see, he escaped from a mental institute-"
Before you could finish your lie, he covered your mouth, the grandma laughing and walking away, talking about her youthful days.
"Seriously? Mental institute? Please, as if." He scoffed.
"Yeah you probably escaped." You laughed, before running off as he chased you with his sword.
Running around, you found your beloved dokja, and leapt into his arms like a princess.
"Dokja! Your companion is trying to kill me!" You laughed at the fuming Joonghyuk, pointing at him.
A string of jealousy tugged at Dokja's heart, his mind wandering off to what a cute one on one time you two would have had...
-
After settling down, you, dokja, joonghyuk, and gilyoung decided to walk together.
As you all turned a corner, a grotesque monster popped up out of nowhere.
With your heightened blood pressure, you kicked joonghyuk forward, shouting, "Take him!"
Of course someone like him faced no difficulty cutting down the monster, but it did end up with you two bickering and fighting. Man...you two had to be long lost twins at this point...
-
Although dokja didn't notice it, gilyoung definitely did.
"Are you jealous?" He asked dokja.
"Wha..what? No!" Dokja waved his hands in the air.
"Yes you are...You frown everytime you look at that bastard," He nods in approval, "It's okay ajussi, me too, me too. He's wasting [name]'s precious time!"
So, the cooked up a plan.
A trap was set up, in which they titled it, 'Bastard Trap.'
Both you and joonghyuk were too engrossed in fighting each other and bickering that you both didn't realize the trap. As the two of you walked behind, you blinked, and joonghyuk was gone??
On the other hand, joonghyuk blinked and he was suddenly flung into the air, far away.
You shrugged it off, this basically meant you win...the gods were really looking out for you...! You wept a silent tear.
Gilyoung too initative, grabbing your hand and dokja's smiling and dragging you about.
"This is nice, right?" He spoke, grinning ear to ear.
You laughed, "Sure is!"
Mission accomplished!
Dokja smiled at your reaction, you really were the perfect woman. His jealousy was gone now (in which said jealousy found himself in an alleyway)
He would do this again in a heartbeat.

unnoticed masterlist.
prev. | cont.
you were coming to the conclusion that having siblings was possibly was just a different experience for everybody, because as you walked behind your elder brother and sister in the park it was almost as if you weren’t apart of their family but merely one of the many bystanders that roamed—you were just the one weird enough to follow them through grassy area.
you expected that it didn’t help too much that your two siblings were much older than you, the two of them however were closer in age and bonded easier with one another than you could with them. so when looking at other families, you almost felt envious..
like when you took glances at the turner family at the most recent ball and noticed the two sisters gossiping with one another, you always wondered to yourself that if you and your own sister were just a year or two closer in age—would you two be that close?
or perhaps at one of the many balls last season when you saw a bridgerton brother crowding around the most recently debuted sister—daphne you believed—your thoughts would wander to if your brother had ever given any thought to your own debut that same year. did he ever feel a sense of protectiveness over you when there was a potential suitor? you groaned aloud at even the memory of the thought, you highly doubted it. both of those thoughts.
“what are you on about now?” you heard from the front, your eyes focusing on your sister. you swallowed before putting on a ( fake ) small smile, although she couldn’t see it. “nothing to worry about, sister.”
“when it involves you, y/n, we should always worry.” your brother said with an exasperated sigh, injecting himself into a conversion that probably did not need to happen so publicly—or even at all really. “it is your second season and still no reliable suitors have come to court you, that is what you should be thinking about. the new season is soon to start.” you looked at the back of his head shocked.
“our sister is a borderline spinster and you believe that i have something to worry about?” you snapped, not quite thinking before speaking. you didn’t think being a spinster was a bad thing but for your brother to insinuate that you had more of a problem than your dear sister who was well past her debut date and was still unwed had angered you to what you believed might just be your breaking point.
brother abruptly stopped in his tracks, your sister stopping with him just as due to their arms being interlinked. he turned around to face you, taking his arm out of your sisters and taking a predatory step towards you. “sister.. you know better than to speak to me that way, and very well you know nothing of our sisters affairs. she could be getting married this season to lord rosenturn and it would not be any of your business. and as the man of our household, i highly suggest you keep your nose out of where it doesn’t belong and your mouth shut.”
was it too much for the lord up above to come and kill you where you stand? it was not enough that the words your brother spewed were embarrassing but for him to announce them like this in such a public setting was on a different level. and what were you to do if he was telling you the truth? was she to be married? it had to be arranged if so, there was no man willing to court her at this point—at least the younger men of ton were not willing to and those were the only one’s she was after.
“are you really to be married this season?” you could not help it, you really could not. your brother’s eyes nearly bugged out of his head at the question, “do you not listen, girl!” he hissed lowly as to not draw attention. “she is not getting married but even if she were to, it would be none of your business. start learning to stay in your lane and find yourself a husband.” your brother looked at you up and down, “now.”
you swallowed, looking down at the ground as you gave the man in front of you a small nod, not quite being up to the task of looking up to his eyes. the impulsive confidence form earlier withering way very, very quickly. “yes, sir.”
you had a sneaking suspicion that the ball tonight was not going to go so well.

Darlin (and Sam + pack) head cannons (sorta?)
sorta suggestive? idk just be careful i guess nearing the end
darlin knew sweetheart before sweetheart joined the pack/met milo
after darlins parents left, the shaws brought them into their house, so darlin was sorta raised as David's younger sibling
darlin took it especially hard when Gabe died because he was such a mentor for them when they had no one else
darlin and Asher definitely had something going on when they were teens. Asher is the same age as David and Milo and darlin is younger but they are still close enough in age that it wasn't weird
continuing from that one, Ash and darlin were each others firsts. im sorry if this weird people out but thats just what i head cannon
David was definitely protective over darlin when he found out about them and Ash (in that cute brotherly way tho)
darlin started drifting away from the pack when they met Quinn, Ash and David took that especially hard
the jacket darlin wears was one of David's jackets that they stole when they were younger and just never gave it back, and David never asked for it back
when they were with Quinn they were purposely asking him to bite them because they felt bad for leaving their pack and their family
when Sam came around darlin started to be a happier person but was never able to come clean to Ash about everything Quinn had done while they were still "seeing" each other
Sam knows about Ash and darlins past and he just thinks its funny because they are still such close friends
Sam asked David's permission before fully confessing to darlin (because David is basically their older brother)
darlin finds Sam's accent so attractive (they liked him when they first met him)
darlin accidentally shifts during the night (especially when they have a nightmare) and used to feel really insecure about it, but Sam told them it was okay and ever since they just fall asleep shifted to begin with (also cause its like really comfy for the both of them)
save a horse ride a cowboy.
darlins locks screen changes between a picture of them with Sam and then a pic of the whole pack (on a game night or something) because they like to keep their special people close at all times
darlin reads smutty books (especially cowboy romance books because they remind them of Sam) (they really like Elsie Silver and Lyla Sage)
darlin has definitely asked Sam to recrate some of the scenes from their books...
darlin and angel read the same kind of books and are always talking about their books and lending them to each other
darlin also askes Sam to read some of the parts from their books just to see how the characters felt in that moment (definitely only for that reason)
darlin definitely has a type for older men
darlin has started using some of the slang Sam says/uses
darlin likes to play video games. likes to play a multiplayer world on Minecraft with angel (and all the mates), the sims (definitely has almost all the packs including werewolves and vampires) and definitely plays stardew (also as a multiplayer save). maybe even plays baldur's gate (loves Astarion) and has played A Date With Death
idk where this has gone ive kinda just started rambling, anyways!! love yall

how everyone reacted to you and neteyams death. (requested.)
includes: jake feeling shitty about himself. sullyfamilyxgn!reader. angst. if you haven’t read the main story, read it before reading this here
jake:
probably felt the worst. you always voiced how he was too hard on the both of you, you really only having the courage to stand up to your father. he didn’t really have time to grieve the loss of his two children but when he did , it hit him hard. jake isn’t one to cry, but realizing you two were gone forever tore that wall down he tried so desperately to keep up.
neytiri:
i feel so bad for her. her grief turned into anger. she wished it was her instead of the two of you. she carried your body while jake carried neteyams body to the bottom of the ocean. she was mainly upset and confused. why did both of you have to die? neytiri knew she wasn’t going to get that answer till the day she was reunited with her children. she just misses the lights of her life. her first steps into motherhood
lo’ak:
oh god. lo’ak was a mess when you and neteyam passed. frantically asking everyone if they knew why this happened, nobody could give an answer, they just didn’t know. baby beats himself up over it pretty badly and blames himself like it was all his fault :( you were his rock and neteyam was his idol. now it’s all up to him to carry your legacies until he takes his last breath, finally getting to see his siblings. probably doesn’t wanna go to the tree of souls, he’s only 14 it’s a lot of emotions to handle.
kiri:
shuts down immediately. probably stops going into the water since it’s possibly a trigger for her. definitely keeps your guys’ things in her hammock and sleeps with them since they still smell like you both. probably gives lo’ak a few items to give him peace at night. she probably has nightmares as well :( constantly huddled under neytiri telling her she misses you guys.
tuk:
it breaks my heart to write this ngl. poor tuk cries nonstop. it’s hard to get her to stop but when she does she kind of forgets. toddles her way over to your hammocks to ask to play and jake has to quietly remind her that you both aren’t coming home. cue waterworks. probably sits in neteyams spot for dinner and yours for breakfast. poor baby didn’t wanna move from your bodies , convincing herself you both were just sleeping :(
bonus!
neteyam:
it took him about a few days to process you both had died. he didn’t wanna freak you out or anything so he didn’t mention it to you, he wanted you to come to terms with it on your own. he felt like it was all his fault , you were robbed of life because of him. neteyam felt so guilty . like the guilt was eating him alive almost. constantly apologizing. he wanted to make the best out of it so he would constantly take you to meet passed family members he’d already met and take you to do your favorite things you did while you were alive.
a.n// NOW YALL DEF HATE ME FOR THIS. i hoped anonie who requested this likes it mwah mwah

OUTLAW (29)
ATEEZ poly!ot8 x Reader
Cowboy AU / Wild West
Series Masterlist
Warning: we back with our parents to talk, heated confrontations (we back at it)
A/N BETA READ (@mariana-mmtz). YALL. I missed the update. My bad! I was out visiting family this week. However because I've been starting to want to write a lot of other things, I might start changing the updates. Nothing too large. I think I'm going to do Monday's and Thursday updates.
Standing in front of the home you had known since forever felt intimidating to say the least. The last couple of times you had been in the house, it was spent having panic attacks and running away from your parents. You were worried about how things were going to go this time around, but the heavyweight resting within your palm made you feel like you could conquer everything.
“You ready for this?” You heard Yeosang ask you, hand squeezing your own.
“Who's ever ready for marriage talk?” You snorted.
“I'm going to be there the whole time.” He spoke, moving in front of you. “I promise you.” He whispered, rubbing his thumb along your hand.
“I'm not worried about you, Yeo.” You sighed.
“We'll take it slow.” He began to move towards your home. “Should things go wrong, I'll take you out of there.”
You gave him a grateful smile. “Thank you.”
The tight feeling in your chest got worse the closer you got to the front door. Your hand squeezed Yeosang’s causing the boy to look back at you. He gave you a reassuring smile, knocking on the door.
Your mother was quick to answer, a small smile on her face. She moved to the side, allowing both of you to walk in.
“You're home, (Y/N).” She spoke up.
“Hi, mom.” You nodded your head. Yeosang gave his own greeting, your mother acknowledging him as well.
You watched as she shuffled towards the dining room, the rest of your family waiting. You brothers were sitting at the table, waiting for your mother to bring out the food. Your sister was already bringing out the side dishes, giving you a smile as she passed by.
“Would you like some help?” You asked, looking at your mom.
“No, not at all.” She waved you off, pointing to the chairs. “Take a seat. We are just about done.” She placed her hands on your shoulders, wanting you to listen.
Yeosand moved your chair to help you sit, taking the spot to the right of you. Your youngest brother sat to your left, eyes on Yeosang. The 6-year-old had his lips pursed waiting for someone to speak up.
“Hello. My name is Yeosang.” The boy finally broke the silence, looking at your three siblings.
Your oldest brother, who was 20, kept his arms crossed as he gave you both a dark stare. Your sister gave Yeosang a kind smile and a nod of her head. The youngest only kicked his legs as he watched Yeosang.
“My older brother told me not to like you because you took (Y/N) away from us.” He said.
“(B/N)!” Your sister hissed, poking at the little boy next to you. “He didn't take (Y/N) away from us. He's just marrying her.”
Your mother had come out with the main course at that point, lips sealed tight to keep from making a face. You looked down, feeling your fathers stare on you.
“I don't wish to do that.” Yeosang told your little brother. “She is your sister first and I shall respect that.”
Your mother gave Yeosang a warm smile, thinking about how he must be treating you. Your father only sighed, looking down at his plate. They all knew that Yeosang was a kind boy, he wouldn’t do anything that would put your reputation in shambles.
“Let's have dinner then, shall we.” Your mother began.
Dinner went along normally, with small talk here and there. Most of it was from your youngest brother asking Yeosang what it was like to work at the hotel or what kind of things they liked. He seemed to enjoy the older man, which made you smile at how excitable he got as dinner progressed.
Once everyone had finished, your sister and mother had both gotten up to take the plates to wash. You had gotten up as well, moving to help them.
“Allow me to help.” You tried to take the plates from your sister.
“No need.” She told you. She glanced behind her at your father, giving you a tight lip smile. “You should probably stay. Good luck.”
You took in a deep sigh, moving to sit back down. Your mother was quick to come out, sitting next at your father’s side. Your older brother had taken your youngest brother out of the room in order for you all to talk.
“How was your rest? I hope good.” Your mother tried to start.
“We're done.” Your dad spoke up. “Why are you here, Yeosang?” He asked. “Wasn't this all just a lie to get me to let go of (Y/N)? It's done– it's over with. You don't need to continue.” He stressed out.
“On the contrary, I do.” Yeosang responded. “I have asked (Y/N) to marry me a few days ago. I know this is not the right way to go about things, but times are changing.”
“Is this true?” Your father turned to face you, but you avoided his eyes. “Why?” He looked back at Yeosang.
“I'm sorry?” Yeosang suddenly frowned. “Are you asking me why I want to marry your daughter?” He asked. When your father only gave him a pointed stare, Yeosang decided to continue.
“As her parents, you should know her more than anyone else.” He began. “I admire her because she's strong headed and has an amazing personality. I refuse to believe no man has ever wanted to conquer her.”
Your eyebrows furrowed as you listened to him. Your hands clenched onto your skirts as his words seemed to make your heart soar. You would never have guessed anyone would talk about you the way Yeosang was.
“A selfless person. Someone who will take action if it means saving others first.” He looked at you smiling as you both knew what he meant. “She will worry about the well-being of those she cares about with all her heart. Even when they don't deserve it, she'll always show mercy. And because of those things, she is the most beautiful woman I have ever got the chance to know.”
Your hand reached out to grab onto Yeosang’s, tears welling in your eyes. Your heart was beating rapidly in your chest, you worried he could hear it.
“You haven't said anything.” Your father turned to you. “That's not like you.”
“You're my parents and I respect you.” You took a deep breath. “But I cannot stand to look at you after you accused me of such nasty rumors.” You looked at Yeosang, a dreamy smile on your face. “I don't care if you say I can't marry Yeosang. I'm an adult and I want to be with him.”
Your mother’s lips pulled up into a smile as she watched you look at Yeosang. He had such a soft look that made your mother think about when your father had looked at her that way. Yeosang cared deeply for you, that much was obvious. And it seemed as though your father could see it as well.
“I need time to think.” Your father sighed.
“We'll be on our way then.” You nodded your head at your parents. “We'll see you in the morning. Tell the others I said goodnight.”
“Goodnight ma'am. Sir.” Yeosang bowed his head, holding out his hand. Your father hesitantly shook his hand, but bowed his head as well.
With a goodbye hug to your mother, Yeosang waited for you at the bottom of the porch before placing a hand at the bottom of your back. As you reached the edge of the forest where Yeosang had left the horse, you let go of a choked sob. Turning to Yeosang, you quickly wrapped your arms around his middle, feeling him pull you closer.
“It's okay.” Yeosang kissed the top of your head. “You did amazing.” He whispered.
You sniffled, looking up at him. “Did you mean it? All those things in there—did you mean it?”
“We all do.” Yeosang moved to hold your cheeks between his hands. “It's what we think of you, and it's what we always will. You've left such an impression on us, we can't let you go. We just want to see you happy.”
“Even if it's not just you?” You asked.
“They are my brothers in every life we live. I will never give them up and they will do the same. If we have to share you, it's not a problem—we will always stick together.”
He spoke about all the other boys as well. You had your doubts about the whole ordeal, but every time it was brought up, each one of the boys seemed to always bring up the others. They knew what it was you were feeling before you even did. They were a family that worked well together. That’s why they knew what to tell you.
“Kiss me.” You whispered.
And so he did. Yeosang leaned down, lightly placing his lips to yours. He knew that you had asked him for it, but he wanted to allow you to lean further into him. He wanted you to have a strong need for him to hold you. Not only that, but he was asking you to enter his own territory. He kissed like Mingi; however, he knew what he was doing. It was sweet, like he wanted you to feel every emotion through his skin.
One of his hands moved from your cheek down to your waist, pulling you closer to him. As you moved to lock your arms behind his neck, Yeosang placed his hands around you, pushing you up further. You let out a moan from the squeeze, causing him to chuckle into your mouth.
He leaned down a bit, palms skimming over your bottom and to your thighs. He quickly scrunches up your skirts in order to pick you up and wrap your legs around his waist. You didn’t shy away from the position this time, having already gotten used to the boy’s heated kisses.
Your legs immediately locked behind him, thighs clenching as his body was placed between them. He moved backwards, wedging you between his body and a tree trunk. Your hands made quick work of feeling under Yeosang’s shirt, finding yourself wanting to feel his skin against your hands.
You could feel your legs start to heat up, your body temperature rising with each lick and breathless moan against Yeosang’s lips. His hands kept squeezing at your skirts, feeling you through the fabric. One of his hands moved on your legs towards where it was connected with his waist. He quickly moved your skirts up, feeling your bare skin.
Your legs began to shiver from the cold air, but still you moved to unclench your legs to allow him room to feel for more. Yeosang’s breathing became hard as he moved closer and hovered over you. His fingers clenched at your skin, restraining himself from going further up. One of his hands placed themselves against the tree.
His breath hit your lips, your tongue moving out to swipe against them. When you opened your eyes to look at him, you could see the soft emotions swirling within his irises.
“You make us feel things we have never thought about feeling.” He told you breathlessly. “We don't want to give that up.”

This is kind of..an au i guess? I hope the end isnt too... sudden? I just hope it makes sense since I'm not much of a writer, wanted to get this out of my chest and share it with yall
Obey me with a player who got isekaid inside the game?
You know hose manhwas where the mc reads/plays this game and then when they go to sleep they are isekaid inside of what they were reading/playing and they use the knowledge they have to survive in this world? What I'd this happened with out mc?
Like there are SO many ways this could go right?, for one you could completely ignore belphegors cries for help at the start of the game before you go up the stairs to meet him, survive the year without getting close to the brothers and just..go but go where exactly? This isn't your world right? Noone knows you here, you mom or dad aren't here non of your siblings (if you have any) or friends or even your cousins and grandparents, you are all alone
So you decide to go through how the original game goes because what is there to lose right? And somehow let's day you do it, ypu make the pacts, travel time lines, meet lillith, and gain their trust but what happens when the exchange program comes to end? Diavolo wants to send you home, to the human world, but this isn't your home.
So what if you try to explain to diavolo that you are from another universe? you have this uneasy feeling, as if something- or more like someone is watching you- As If warning you that what you are about to do is a bad idea
There's only one person demon who knows both the past present and the future, is it □□□□□□□□□□□□? Or maybe □□□□□□□□? Are they the same person?
#Aaaannnnnddd that's it folks#I tried#this kind of au has been on my mind for some time now#but i aint really a writer so thats the best i could get out#if anyone with better writing skills wants to continue writing this i dont mind just hut me up so i can read it too👍#obey me#obey me shall we date#obey me lucifer#obey me x reader#obey me mammon#obey me barbatos#obey me beelzebub#obey me satan#obey me asmodeus#isekai#obey me isekai#obmswd#obmnb#obm nightbringer#obey me solomon#obey me simeon#obey me side characters#obey me luke#obey me leviathan#obey me belphegor#obey me diavolo#obey me thirteen#obey me raphael#obey me mephistopheles#312005

can u write something for yandere armin? like what if his darling actually liked him back but then ppl are gossiping about him visiting Annie and still having feelings for her? this hurts darling bc she never forgave Anine and maybe her sibling is dead bc of the female titan so she just kinda stops talking to armin???
@laughing-with-god these were catching cobwebs in my drafts but it’s finally here (^◇^;)
————/———-/——————————-/—————-
Cw: Unhinged Armin! Fem! Reader, suicidal mentions, manipulative tendencies, yandere tendencies, obsessive behavior, mutual pinning
————/———-/——————————-/—————-
Is she ignoring me?
Armin questioned.
Watching you longingly from afar underneath the bangs of his long blonde hair, he began to overthink about what went wrong between the two of you. The rumors that kept circulating his mind about how you also had feelings for him. Was driving him insane with all the conflicting emotions in his weak heart.
Doesn’t she feel the same way? But if that’s true then why…?
If the rumors are true then why’re you avoiding him? The day before the both of you were in the library leisurely reading books sitting next to each other as if you were connected by the red strings of faith. The atmosphere was so blissful a lovely distraction from the chaos in a world that seems so hopeless.
But now he’s witnessing you ignoring his existence entirely almost as if he didn’t exist in your heart to being in with. And that made him anxious with insecurities running rampant until it turned into twisted delusions.
Has she found another?
No, that can’t be! What do I do? I can’t let her go. I need her. I need her. I need her. I need her—
“Hey did yall hear about what’s happening between Armin and Annie?”
A distant voice snapped him out of his obsessive train of thoughts, and he automatically tuned into the conversation of gossip stemming from a group of scouts.
“Duh everyone knows that those two will hook up eventually, but my heart goes out to that girl who had a crush on him.”
Another voice chimed in with a slight huff of pity going out to you.
“Yeah, hasn’t Armin always had the hots for that Titan girl? I heard that he went to see her last night at the stables”
Armin went rigid at the mere mention that he would choose that abomination you utterly despised over you. Calming himself he couldn’t help but let out a tiny sigh of relief realizing that it was not as bad as he originally thought. Although, he did have an encounter with her, trust me when I say that it was far from that of a friendly front.
Now that he had a clear vision of the situation, he knew exactly what he needed to do to mend the bridge between him and his darling.
Him being all nice to Annie was just a facade to get her guard to the lowest crumbling point. The woman was already running on a half life carrying the guilt of her past warrior self. He pretended to be empathetic towards her, feeding the flames of her innermost desire to end it all by stating that she had suffered long enough by the hands of fate. And that as a former ally he’d assist in making sure she had a nice send off straight to hell.
And eventhough He knew it was wrong of him to enjoy the simpering thought of how jealous you were at the mere inkling idea that he was interested in Annie. He couldn’t help the excitement drumming along in his heart at how that was a sign of your apparent love towards him. A telltale sign of how you wanted him.
He nearly got weak in the knees at the vision of you and him getting together as a loving couple. Especially since he knew that his goal was within reach, all he had to do was set the plan in motion. In few days time you’ll soon see how much he truly loves you, and how much he’d be willing to be your faithful companion.
And what better way to show it, by giving you the chance to get revenge on the traitor you loathed with all your being.
With that in mind Armin quickly headed towards your quarters, his steps becoming upbeat with a small hopeful smile on his face while he daydreamed about you rewarding his efforts with a kiss.

Mikey Berzatto x female!Reader fic
Mikey Berzatto x female!reader
Warnings: fluff, a lot of angst, lots of cursing
Authors note: I’m on season 3 of the bear and absolutely love it! But I’m basing this fic off of ep 6 of season 2 (the Christmas party) so I hope you enjoy! Some of the dialogue is from this specific scene and some I made up! I’m mixing the two!!FYI this scene happened I’m just mixing up my own dialogue and some of the real dialogue. Lmk what else yall wanna see! I’m open to literally anything! 🤗
It was Christmas Day, usually when you think of Christmas you think of happy times and good memories with the people you love. In the crazy Berzatto household you were not getting any of that.
“I need to go get a drink” said Donna as she got up to go the kitchen. The Berzatto’s mother was obviously drunk and had been smoking more cigarettes than anyone could count.
You were anxiously sitting next to Mikey holding his hand at the table while all of his family was yelling at him and Lee to calm down.
“Lee, no one wants you here! Just leave man!” said Mikey mad at how Lee was acting in his childhood home.
“No I’m not leaving! I’m going to sit here in enjoy this meal that your mother made.” Lee said smugly.
Cicero (unc) sighed and said, “Both of you have some respect, D cooked up a big meal for all of us and I wish for once that we chill the fuck out and eat.”
Lee looked at Mikey at said, “Yeah Mike! Do what your Unc says!”
Mikey picked up a fork. Lee looked at him and said, “Throw the fuckin fork! Throw it!” I dare you to!”
Carmy said, “Lee you’re not helping thanks!” In an assertive voice trying to get things to calm down.
Mikey pretended to throw the fork at Lee and laughed, “You fuckin pussy you flinched! Look at you!”
Cicero was yelling, “Michael!” “Michael!” “Can we not pretend to fuckin throw forks at people ?” He was of course on Michael’s side but he didn’t want the dinner to get already crazier than it had gotten. In fact, everyone at that table hated Lee but wanted to calm Mike down before he got out of control.
Mikey infuriated said, “It’s my father’s house I can throw as many fuckin forks as I want to Unc!
Lee turned his head and said, “Throw the fuckin fork! You’re nothing. You’re nothing, You’re nothing!” He kept saying it over and over and you could just feel his body tense up.
You gave Lee the dirtiest look ever and turned your head to Mikey. “Baby, it’s ok look at me.” He didn’t look at you once, all he did was just squeeze your hand tighter. You could tell something extremely bad was about to happen.
You looked at Carmy and Sugar and tried to get them to help, they both nodded and tried their hardest. “Hey Mikey! Mike. I love you.” said Sugar.
His siblings more than anybody understood that Mikey can go from 0-100 super quickly so when they see that he’s irritated they try to calm him down in situations like this.
Carm was trying to get him to calm down as well, “Hey Mike. Chill out man.” He said in a more calm voice because he could tell yelling wouldn’t help.
Mikey ignoring all of them, looked like he was going to punch Lee in his face. He put one of his hands on his mouth. Almost like an expression where he was trying to hold it together but it was obvious that he wasn’t doing a very good job at it.
All night after not thinking you were going to say anything you said, “Lee, I think we can all tell that things could get much worse so how about someone say the grace and we can all chill out?
Multiple murmurs at the table agreed. “Thank you y/n!” Richie said, happy that someone said something positive for once.
Lee looked at you and said, “Shut up you bitch this isn’t about you.” Everyone looked at you in disbelief but most importantly looked at Mikey to see his reaction. You were the love of his life and if anyone fucked with you they were dead basically. You were so shocked you couldn’t even say anything. Richie looked at Lee and said “What the fuck man?” “Why would you say that to her?”
You felt like it all happened in the blink of an eye. As Mikey let go of your hand he stood up, grabbed the fork, and threw it at Lee. “You fuckin asshole!” “Don’t call her that!” “Ima fuckin kill you!” He yelled at the top of his lungs. Lee also got up and started yelling too. “Get out of this house you lunatic!” “Fuckin addict!” “You don’t do shit with your life!”
Richie, Carmy, and one of the Faks got up and held Mikey back from basically killing Lee and 3 other people were holding back Lee from hitting Mikey.
It was utter chaos, you were so overwhelmed by the whole thing you just sat there in shock. “Y/n, you okay?” Sugar asked and Tiff followed behind her. You just nodded and said thanked her for wondering about you. “Tiff, you should go lay down, you pointed to her pregnant belly. You shouldnt be around all of this noise, girl you should be relaxing!” You said. Tiff laughed, “Yeah well this is what I get for marrying Richie. She smiled, “but I wouldn’t have it any other way. He’s my soulmate.” “Yeah he’s a good guy.” You said and smiled at her. You looked outside to go see if things calmed down out there and apparently it did.
You saw Lee drive away in his car. Good fucking riddance. “Excuse me ladies.” You said as you let yourself out of the room. You opened the door to the front porch and stood near all the guys. They all stopped talking and turned to look at you. “Hey y/n” they said. You looked at Carm and patted him on the back. “Come on guys let’s go in.” Richie said giving you and Mikey some privacy. You mouthed “thank you” to Richie before he closed the door. He mouthed back, “any time”. You smiled before he closed the door.
You stepped closer to the front step where Mikey was sitting. “Mikey?” “You okay baby?” You sat down next to him.
“Im sorry you had to see me like that y/n, you should never feel unsafe when you’re with me and I was yelling and not making the situation better for myself or anyone that was around me.” He looks up, “which I guess was everyone” You smiled back and realized why you fell in love with him. He was always honest and would communicate with you.
And of course he was very handsome.
You loved how unnecessarily apologetic towards you he was. He was so cute when he was around you. He wasn’t being “tough” Mikey, or “loud and obnoxious” Mikey, he was just being who he is around you.
His best self.
“Love” you said as you brought him closer, “Your feelings are incredibly valid. I understand you and I love that you stood up for me.” “I love you.” You said. “I love you as long as I live baby” He said.
You try to keep on a strong face but then you slowly but surely broke down and start crying. Mikey looks over at you, “hey, hey darling. What’s wrong?” You sniffed and crying through words tried to get a coherent sentence out. “I just hate to see you get talked to like that and he called me a bitch.” You cried.
Mikey held you close and rubbed your back. “Please darling none of that affects me as much as you crying does. “Also fuck Lee he can fuckin suck me” “Calling my girl a bitch who the fuck does he think he is.”
Him saying that made you laugh. You laughed and he wiped your tears off your cheek. A true gentleman.
He smiled at you and you laid your head on his shoulder. You put your fingers through his hair and started playing with it.
You looked into his eyes for a long time. He stared into yours. Finally, he pulled your face in close and kissed you. Fak and Carmy stared at the window, “The only person that can get him to calm down and listen.” Carmy said while shaking his head.
Richie looked and saw you guys kissing, “Great and now they’re kissing again.”
“Better than Mike being mad.” Fak said. “True” They all said in unison.

Pairing: Egon Spengler/TA!Reader
no more fics abt kids for 10 years cuz I'm scared yall can tell when I'm ovulating
Better formatting on Ao3!!
The newspaper was spread out over the table, frankly ignored as all four men were scrambling to get breakfast in themselves before they headed out to a call scheduled painfully early. Egon paused, hoping to get a sip of coffee without it spilling over onto his underclothes, when he spotted it- an editorial that had consulted you for a professional opinion. Mug barely to his lips as he skimmed it, Ray appeared in front of him, ready to go.
“Something interesting?” he inquired, attempting to read upside down. Ray opened his suit a tad in hopes to get some air. “Jeez, it’s hot today.”
“It’s that time.” Egon’s own words making him start to wonder something, forgetting about the mug, guessing that it’d just have to go cold if they wanted to get there in a timely manner. “Do you recognize the name?”
Ray got a proper look, squinting and fishing for an answer in his head, shaking it twice. “Not really. You know my memories’ shot,” he patted Egon on the shoulder, all the men filing out and down the steps.
Ray’s memory must’ve been crushed, ran over, and spat upon- Egon could remember like it was yesterday. He wasn’t complaining, really, content with the recollection being something he could keep just for himself as he broke into a small and selfish smile behind his friends’ backs.
Christine brought eyes to the clouds in exasperation “You don’t know how awkward it is to see a clone of your boyfriend everywhere,” she complained as you headed back to your dormitory.
“Side-effects of dating a twin.” You let out a small laugh at her long-distance plight with your books stacked in your arms. It was nice and bright out, the perfect afternoon for a good, long book, or an equally as lengthy nap. “Are you at least, like, friends?”
She sighed, pushing open the complex’s doors. “A bit. We’re gonna have to be, anyway.”
“It’s not all bad. No need for those pictures he sends-”
“I’m not listening !” Christine whined, squeezing her eyes shut and pushing manicured nails into her ears while you snickered devilishly. “I can’t believe you saw those.”
You put the key to your space into the door. “Relax, I’m not reading your mail. Just stop leaving nasty letters on the coffee table.” Christine groaned in embarrassment, sinking into the armchair you got in a yard sale all the way back in winter.
“Speaking of,” she toyed with a fraying edge of the lime green fabric, “He called this morning. He’s still coming- just thought we should bring a few friends.”
You made a skeptic noise as you started on lunch for you and your roommate. “Ouf. During your big reunion trip that you can’t stop talking about?” you asked over your shoulder, washing some fruit.
“That’s the one.” Christine sat up, accidently pulling some of the thread with her. “I suggested it. I just thought he deserved to see them, after being away so long.” You traded your skepticism for understanding, placing grapes in a strainer. “What I’m trying to say…”
“I would love to take a road trip with strangers while you make out in the front seat. It’d be an honor, actually.”
Christine snuck a few grapes and popped them in her mouth. “You’re not as distant as you think. It can’t be that bad- I’ll be there!” she punctuated herself by stealing another handful. “What happened to our summer plans?”
“If I’m only being half sarcastic,” you ended up giving her the entire colander, “wouldn’t I be intruding?” She sat on the counter, legs of her jeans swinging back and forth.
“Not at all. I’d like you to meet him before the wedding,” Christine teased you. When you weren’t entirely receptive, she poked you in the side. “If you end up with the brother, our kids’ll pretty much be siblings.”
“Not how genetics works. We’d have to be twins, too.”
“We practically are.”
“Oh, of course.” you joked as she turned you both towards the mirror on the wall. You watched her hopeful face in the mirror. Why was she always the one encouraging you to try new things, anyway? These next few months won’t last forever, admittedly, and soon you’ll be put into the real world where you can’t just drop everything for a trip out with other young people. Plus, you needed to know if her boyfriend was as cute as she said. “When do we leave?” you finally caved.
Christine jumped up, full of excitement as she dragged you to the closet. “Oh, I have to help you pack!”
“Why would I wanna do that?” Egon said into the phone, slipping into casual speech with his brother on the other end when Peter and Ray walked in, back from their lunch. “I don’t like being in a car with you on a regular day.”
“Because I’m coming home and you wanna see me,” Elon answered, unaffected by his twin. Egon sighed into the receiver at his happy tone. Out of all the things he’s had nightmares about, being stuck in a hot car with his brother and his girlfriend was the most hellish.
“Do they know you’re coming?”
“The last time I surprised Mom she told everyone I died. I attended my own funeral. Hey, you could bring Pete and Ray along. It’s a whole thing- Chris offered.”
“What about us?” Peter said over Egon’s shoulders, making him flinch away from his friend.
“Wanna take a trip to the shore?” Elon raised his voice so Peter could hear him, Egon flinching in the opposite direction as his ears were assaulted on either side.
Ray dropped what he was doing, now intrigued. “A road trip?” he smiled. “We’re going!”
Egon handed his roommates the phone, since they were so interested in a little excursion with his brother. What was it about the concept that sounded so fun to those three? He could drive anywhere at any time without it having to be a “thing”.
“Oh man,” Ray covered the receiver, “apparently there’s a campsite with the clearest sky for stargazing,” he beamed.
“Get pictures for me,” Egon said plainly, turning his chair back to his desk. Peter didn’t like that, apparently, spinning his friend back around with his hands on his hips.
“You’re not staying here to rot while we’re off kissing girls and looking at space.”
He ignored the pseudo-vulgarity. “I’ll manage. Besides, I have work to get ready for.” Not entirely untrue, he did have an internship coming up- they all did, just not until much later in the season. Ray frowned, seemingly catching the man in his half-lie.
“That’s so far away, Spengs. If you do this, we’ll never ask for anything ever again.” Ray reasoned, grinning hopefully. Egon sat back in thought, under a spotlight shined on him by his two friends. His legs would get tired. He probably couldn’t wear a sweater in the heat. He’d have to sleep in a dingy motel at some point. But- he’d get a rare chance to actually see the night sky without light pollution. If it rained, he’d get a moment for fungus hunting. And maybe he did miss his brother. Maybe.
“When do we leave?”
You barely had time to catch the bag your friend nearly dropped before she was sprinting towards a parked light blue car by the curb with its trunk popped open. As you got closer to the little congregation, your mouth fell open as you got a real look at the man she was clinging to.
Holy shit . This was gonna be so much more fun than you thought.
“Lonnie!” She hugged him tightly, peppering lipstick covered kisses all over his face. The face you’d come to know quite well, actually.
“Hey, Chris,” he smiled dopily. It was jarring, seeing that face smile so earnestly. They were the exact same person, down to the length and style of their hair, height- if you were crazy enough, you’d ask if they wore the same frames. And one of them was smiling? You had assumed that everyone in the Spengler family was a sea anemone. He, Elon, held onto her waist, before catching sight of you standing on the sidewalk. “Hi,” he grinned warmly, “have you met everyone?”
You couldn’t answer before he took the reins, introducing the unfamiliar men who you had only just noticed. Elon exuded being a natural conversationalist. How ironic? “That’s Peter. Psychology.”
You wondered why he was so familiar until it finally clicked. “I know you. There’s a girl in psych who said you slept over and stole her silk robe.”
“I can’t help it if I look better in it.”
Elon stifled a laugh- that girl was good friends with Christine. “Ray’s in engineering,” he managed to get out.
“I like your jacket,” you complimented, amused at the fashion choice in such unrelenting heat.
“Thanks,” Ray cuffed his sleeves happily, “I like your lack of a jacket.”
You laughed at that, adjusting the bag on your back getting heavier and heavier by the second. “It’s 80 degrees!”
“Car ACs are no joke.”
Elon tried peeking around the back of the car. “I’m sure you’ve met my brother. He’s just a ray of sunshine.”
“Sure.” You smiled inwardly, watching Egon arrange luggage like there was a science to it- which, there probably was. You headed back there, slinging a backpack off your shoulder. “Isn’t this fun?” you spoke lowly. He looked miserable, but in a humorous way. At least, humorous for you.
He didn’t answer, placing it in the trunk silently. You placed Christine’s on the roomy felt flooring next to a bit of camping gear before you spoke again, unbothered by his petulance. “I didn’t know you had a twin.”
Egon moved her bag, the spot you chose apparently not optimal enough for him. “I’d consider him more of a parasite.” That made you laugh as he shut the hatch, but didn’t lock it, the latching mechanism seemingly unfamiliar to him. You reached down, doing it for him before leaving him behind to join the rest of your new friends.
“At least he’s a cute parasite.”
Elon held the door open for his girlfriend. “You wanna sit upfront?” Elon asked before she shook her head, climbing into the window seat in the back.
Christine pulled her seatbelt across her chest. “I’ll get sick. Y/N, sit back here with me.” she patted the spot next to her. Elon nodded, getting into the driver’s seat while you slid in beside your friend, cherishing the space you probably won’t get again for the next couple of hours.
“Ray? Will you be my co-captain?” Elon starts the ignition, cranking his window down a crack. Ray got in the passenger’s seat enthusiastically, almost hitting his head on the roof.
“Do I!” he was virtually buzzing as he took in all the bells and whistles in front of him. You weren’t exactly a car person, but you could say this one was objectively pretty hip- even the leather felt nice underneath you. Peter and Egon filed in next, Elon pulling off from the sidewalk as Ray couldn’t contain himself, starting again.
He ran a careful finger across the dash. “Where’d you get this from, anyway?”
“I cashed in a couple favors, traded in the beetle,” Elon paused at a crosswalk.
Peter hummed. “Didn’t know they drove like this in yodieland.”
Elon put a finger up in defense. “I got this ‘cause of my exceptional business skills.”
“Just say you’re a bad dealer.”
Eventually, your little group made it out onto the highway, surrounded by high heels and even higher trees. You had the little book you had snuck in cracked open, but there really was no need. The car was full of excellent talkers, dissolving any previous fears about if it would ever get too quiet or awkward. Excellent talkers, excluding Egon. A silent part of yourself cursed Christine for picking the window, placing you in between herself and the psychologist, away from the victim of your tortures. But, your read and your position were forgotten about, book spread open and face down on your lap as Elon shared a riveting story about roller skating.
“Now that you mention skating,” Peter turned to you and Christine, her legs thrown over your own, “you’d never believe me if I told you how good Egon is.”
You sat up, somehow even more interested. “No way.” you flashed the man over Peter’s shoulder a wicked smile as he offishly avoided your gaze.
Peter nodded. If there was trickery in his eyes, you’d have missed it. “Yes way. Absolute god, too.” Elon and Ray made a few noises of agreement up front.
“I’ll have to see it sometime,” you say as innocently as possible, enjoying the sight of Egon’s cheeks turning pink under the attention. “No need to be embarrassed- I think it’s cool.” you sounded genuine to everyone who wasn’t either of you, leaning forward to catch his eye.
It twitched as he searched you, just like it did in your lecture hall. Who said a classroom could only have four walls?
“Not embarrassed for me,” he kept eye-contact, “embarrassed for you when you fall.”
There was a chorus of ooo-ing as you slumped back in your seat- not embarrassed yourself, but satisfied with his ability to get you back, even when it wasn’t over a work of fiction. “Very funny,” you started, needing an iron will to refer to him with his first name as to not make things look weird, “Egon.”
At some point, Christine had her face pressed to the glass while you were stuck in midday traffic- bumper to bumper. “Check out the moose!” she gasped, shaking your shoulder.
“Moose don’t live down here,” Elon spared a look while the car inched forward. You put your play down, squinting outside with her.
“Those are two bucks.”
“And they’re-”
The car suddenly gained speed as traffic lessened, giving the two not-moose their privacy.
At some point, as the sun was getting ready to set, the car found itself on another long stretch of highway, no other vehicle in sight as you made your way around winding roads lined with yellow-green. Elon must’ve noticed something, or someone, with their thumb out when he decided to slow down, easing on the brakes as he pulled onto the shoulder.
The hitchhiker spoke into his half closed driver side window, “Hey, man. I just need a ride to somewhere with a bus stop.” Elon nodded understandably, saying something about checking the tires before you’d go.
“Try to make a decision before I get back,” Elon spoke softly as to not be overheard by your prospective guest.
Egon definitely would’ve rather kept going, but Ray was the first to speak. “Probably won’t see anyone again for miles,” he presumed, turning in the passenger’s seat.
“He can’t have any ill will. Hard to kill all six of us.” you offered, not to Egon’s surprise. He watched as you turned to your friend, tapping her boot against the floor. “Christine? What d’you think?”
She kept her eyes straight ahead, arms crossed. “Whatever gets us to the rest stop the fastest.”
“Don’t worry. Just don’t think about the beach. Or the river down there. Or drinking wate-”
“Be quiet , Peter!” she fussed. He apologized when she shifted around where she was sitting, checking how much progress her boyfriend had made on whatever he was doing.
Ray unbuckled his seatbelt. “He should sit up front,” he started, before Peter put a hand out.
“And where will you go?”
He gave his friend a bemused look, cocking an eyebrow. “I’ll get back there with you guys,” he said as if he was doubting his answer.
“With that butt? There’s no space.” Egon could tell you were holding in your own amusement before your own friend spoke up, foot tapping evolving into knee bouncing.
Christine squeezed your shoulder like it was a stressball. “I’d let you sit on me, but I think I’d piss my pants if you did.”
“Glad I’m being thought of,” you kept your eyes ahead as she once did to avoid being the next puzzle piece for this little dilemma. When you heard Elon approach the car again, with no verdict reached, you sighed heavily, unbuckling yourself and scooting forward. “You don’t mind?” his wide eyes caught sight of your hand on the frame of the door. He’d say no, make you sit on the roof; that’d keep you from bothering him. So why’d he say yes?
He thought he was done with this. The things you’d do, the things you’d say- he thought all of that was done, at least until school started again and he was locked into the same routine. But now, you were on him, and it wasn’t explicit but it felt that way and he couldn’t miss the look his twin gave him before he finally decided to drive and the car was moving . He got insanely self aware insanely quickly, cursing whoever it was that convinced him to wear a dingier pair of pants.
Elon couldn’t have been more careless a driver, bumping into potholes and sticks and whatever other debris littered the road ahead as he approached a town. He only had a second to burn a stare into the rearview mirror, before his brother stopped a little too hard, sending you sliding down the length of his bent thighs and into his torso.
Egon was absolutely burning up, hands not knowing where to stay as he unconsciously encompassed the middle of your back with both of his palms, sitting up uncomfortably. “Sorry” was all she could mutter as his heart clamored to the front of his chest.
Except, you looked back at him. Smiling . “What’re you sorry for?” you asked sweetly, quiet enough so only he could hear. This was his affliction acting up again, head swimming without coherent thought. He knew that this was nothing but your poison, giving him a perfectly reasonable reaction to the toxin. Like Claudius and Hamlet. God, he was thinking like you.
So Egon didn’t say anything, planting two hands on your waist like he’d seen his brother do to Christine. He could be poisonous, too.
The car sputtered to a stop at a larger gas station outside a little town, forever tainted by the sight of Christine running inside before she could have an accident. Peter offered to fill up the tank as the hitchhiker made his way to the bus shelter, and everyone emptying out the car left only you and Egon.
“Thanks,” you grinned, pinching the apple of his blank face before you climbed off, following them all. He knew he’d rather stay alone in the car, but Peter had yet to bring the last 8 minutes up, and he was most likely close to breaking.
Egon gave Ray a half-hearted thanks as the interior gave him much needed relief from the sun, even if it was in the form of a handful of desktop fans. He wandered off from you and Ray as you stocked up on campfire-food, his eyes drawn to the knick-knacks for sale that lined the walls of pure dark wood, wherever there wasn’t an ancient looking antique mounted. A charming kind of hospitality, Egon thought as he passed another shelf full of anything anyone would stock up on.
There was a lunch counter facing a large window that gave patrons a wide view of the orange sunset. But, he wasn’t so much drawn to it as he was to the glass classes full of confections and pastry that garnished the benchtop, marked with differing prices. Egon’s stomach sang at the idea of a slice of cake. When was the last time he had a good dessert?
“Huh. Pegged you more of a vanilla-guy.” Egon jumped. You had to stop popping up everywhere. “Let me buy it for you.” you kept your eyes on the crystalware.
“Buy an entire chocolate cake?”
You shrugged, arms full of packets of graham crackers. “Sure, if you promise to go halfsies.”
Egon couldn’t think of much as you started towards the cashier, simply following you. “Why?” was the only word that came to mind. You stilled, sighing before keeping on.
“Because I find you so agreeable. Now, get my wallet for me.” And, naturally, it had to be in your back pocket.
You held the wax-paper wrapped one-tier in awe, both of you fairly hypnotized at opaque swirls of brown icing pressed against foggy parchment. You handed it off, telling him to hide it while you used the restroom. Egon hardly had a moment to take anything else in before you scuttled out the family bathroom, door shut harshly with your back.
“What?” He noted the quick rise and fall of your chest as you took a few steps away.
“They really missed each other.”
You all met Peter with bags full of marshmallow and chocolate when the stranger’s greyhound pulled up, coughing out exhaust. Elon quickly ducked into the glove compartment, springing out with a small baggie that his brother missed when he bounded over to the man. From this distance, the backpacker seemed elated as Elon returned, looking pleased with himself.
“What was that?” Ray placed the last paper sack into the trunk, away from the windows.
“Expanding my business to the east coast,” he answered confidently. His eyes went round at the sight of a police trooper against the tangerine horizon, ushering everyone back inside so they could get back on their way.
It was past dark when they pulled into the parking lot of a state campsite, virtually all for themselves. Egon felt out of place when he gandered at his reflection in the mirror of the visitor’s bathroom, t-shirt and Peter’s lounge pants replacing his normal pajamas. He was starting to miss his cap and gown- it certainly would’ve protected against prospective ticks better than the short man’s bottoms leaving his ankles bare.
Elon drove out to the lake, where Ray was put in charge of starting a fire and assembling smores. At some point during the little mass, you had stopped him passing one to Egon insisting that you see the inside. You crinkle your nose, before grabbing the bag of marshmallows and handing him one on a stick.
“How do you eat yours?” Your tone was professorial, as if you weren’t trying to interrogate him on how he toasted a mini cube of gelatin and sugar. Egon plucked it from you, holding it over the flame for all of three seconds. You made a face, taking it back. “There’s a right way to do it wrong.”
He watched as you let it burn completely charcoal black. Before he could refuse, you put a hand up, deep in concentration. Your fingers pinched the burnt outside, meticulously sliding it off to reveal a gooey, white center which you haphazardly rolled onto your palm after sampling the caramelized shell. “Try,” you held it out to him. Egon made a face in turn, silently refusing. He cowered, attempting to nix you when you climbed over your stump and onto his, eventually forcing the treat into his mouth. Reluctantly, he chewed, and found it wasn’t all that bad- if not a bit hot. He caught his brother’s eye as you sat back, licking the residue off your fingers, and the warmth and smoke of the fire caught up with him as he frowned. This was not enjoyable. This was the poisoned goblet
When the fire was out, they could really enjoy the night sky above them. It was an inky oil spill, dappled with the light of soft stars in an uncorrupted plane, vast and never ending as it rolled on in every possible direction. “It’s beautiful,” Christine marveled, curled up into her boyfriend while they sat on the grass.
Egon kept his eyes upward to avoid the sight of Elon’s fingers dancing along the hem of her pajamas. He muttered something about a better place to see it all, and they were off somewhere in the sloping hillside. Your knees were tucked into your chest when Ray leaned over, smiling.
“Have you ever seen stars like this?” You broke out into your own smile, shaking your head.
“Never,” you clenched and unclenched your hands, appealing smaller. Egon could feel that pull in between his eyes, that involuntary darkness in his face. But it wasn’t directed at you. It was directed at his friend. Where was this coming from?
Peter stood then, shaking refuse from himself. “C’mon, Ray. I’ll grab the camera and we can go up there for some good pictures.”
Ray stayed sitting with his legs crossed. “Oh, it’s okay. You can see it great down here.”
“Oh, you’re so much better with the camera than me,” Peter persisted.
“I wouldn’t say that-” Ray started to wave his friend off, before he was hoisted to his feet and led off into the darkness somewhere. That left only you and him.
You rose when they disappeared over the trees, unlocking the trunk and propping it open as far as it could go. After clearing the way from stray bags and luggage, you procured a blanket that hung over the backseat, draping in across the bed and settling in. Egon looked on stiffly, before you touched the space next to yourself. “Because you don’t like the grass,” you said simply.
He sat, legs dangling over the edge of the car ungracefully. You didn’t seem to mind. “Isn’t it perfect?” you venerated heavenward. Egon took in the celestial body, marbling in a color he had only seen on your sweaters. Other hues swirled and mixed with each other, creating a depth that he was sure would match your corneas. Airglow flowed out from within Andromeda, streaks of energy peeking and hiding within a dark backdrop that mirrored the flow of your hair. The stars speckled everything in sight, being everything and nothing at the same time, content with vacuity and shining in abundance. He nodded, transfixed.
“I never realized that stars weren’t just…dots. Now they’re in front of me, and they’re things .” you expressed, attempting to trace them into vaster shapes. “It’s a shame the moon isn’t out.”
Egon did the same, scanning for a constellation. “Burning groups of hydrogen turning into helium, letting out electromagnetic radiation.”
You twinkled. “Show-off.” You leaned back on your hands, before sitting back up, digging around and emerging with the cake from earlier. “You hid it back here?” you judged him playfully, stealing two forks from the glove compartment.
“One for you,” you pressed a fork down the middle of the, surprisingly undamaged, dessert, “and one for me.” Egon was wary as you took a piece from his half, bringing it to his lips. His pupils crossed as you held it between his eyes, and he held back as if it was venom. He took the fork from you instead, whatever fluttery feeling that was happening in his abdomen flying away.
You took your own bite, and nearly melted. “What’s in this?” you said around a mouthful of cake. Egon savored some of the pleasant, treacly chocolate flavor.
“Cherries,” Egon deduced, the both of you going back for more. At some point, you had clutched his arm, eyes wide and glowing.
“A shooting star!” you pointed, the streak of light soaring through space for a mere few more seconds before it faded as quick as it appeared. “Did you make a wish?”
He sat unaffectedly, arm tingling where you had touched him. “An archaic superstition.”
You raised a brow, sitting back again. “You believe in ghosts and possession, but not wishing on stars?”
Egon didn’t have an answer, and a silence fell when you brought yourself back to the cosmos. “If I had the time, I’d look more into astronomy.” He didn’t know what forced that out, perhaps it was the vulnerability of megacosm enveloping him.
“If you had time?”
“Astrology, if I had an eternity.” Egon paused, when you let out a noise of acknowledgment. “Its connections with the paranormal are worth researching, however frivolous.” In the corner of his vision, you were sitting and staring. Eyelids low, gaze burning and expression unguarded. Poison.
“You’re not just a robotic physicist.”
He was lost for words. “To who?”
“To me, at least.” Egon’s eyes studied every bit of your face, like a robotic physicist. Eyes with a depth that matched the hues of the night sky. Hair flowing like the airglow of space. There was a beating in his ears, drowning out sounds of rustling grasses and a rippling lake in the wind. If the universe had a tangible sound, it’d be this. And it sounded like your breathing. It all created a new layer of confusion for him. This reverie was voluntary. So why could he see ether within you? The medley of matter and the atemporal shine of stars?
An indecent noise pulled him from his rumination, though it did nothing to raise his temperature even higher than it already was. “They must’ve really missed each other,” you remarked, climbing over the backseat to grab your toiletries. Egon frowned, watching your figure retreat in the direction of the visitor’s bathroom. He only followed in case you’d get lost. But his insides still felt stark.
Egon woke when your head hit the trunk door, and you winced in pain. He sat up, not quite remembering electing to sleep in the commodious back seat, but recognizing that he was no longer in the middle of a park. He clutched the blanket pooled around his middle closer to himself, feeling like an indecent woman as you got the door open. This was a parking lot. To a diner.
“Well, don’t you two look nice.”
“You left us,” you stood at your friend’s table, not nearly as chastened at being in the middle of a busy restaurant in your sleep clothes as Egon was.
Christine smiled apologetically, putting her mug down, “Sorry, you just looked so peaceful.”
You both returned to the table after freshening up in the bathroom equally as eager to eat the breakfast that was ordered in your absence. Before having anything of your own, you split off a piece of the pie Christine saved and wordlessly slid it over to Egon. He ate it just as wordlessly.
“I’ve been meaning to ask you,” Ray started from across the table, “The book you were reading earlier- it was Liliom, right? Are you a fan of Rodgers and Hammerstein?”
You brightened. Egon didn’t much enjoy the taste of pie anymore. “Oh, yeah! I love Carousel,” you clenched and unclenched your hands again.
“That’s great! My graduating class did Carousel!” Ray leaned forward. You parroted him.
“In highschool?” You asked, awestruck. “I’m jealous.”
“What’s Carousel?” Peter wondered indolently, buttering a piece of toast.
“It’s this opera-musical about a mill worker-”
“Who falls in love with a carnival barker-”
“But he dies trying to provide for her! And he has to redeem himself for their future daughter.” you say simultaneously, breaking out into a fit of laughter. Egon felt ill.
“You were going to see Midsummer Night's Dream, right?” The question slipped out without much thought from him, though without any resistance or regret.
He added sugar to his coffee while you wiped your eye. “Yeah, there’s a revival in this theater with the best costume design.”
“I’m surprised you enjoy it so much. I mean, it is a parody of its audience.”
You narrowed your eyes in the same owlish way you did at the chalkboard. “A parody of the audience?”
“Lysander, Hermia, Helena, Demetrius?” he offered. “Do they not mock the audience’s romantics?”
“They’re young and in love . They’re more of an ode to the audience, if anything- look at Hermia.”
Egon clicked his tongue, watching on as your passion sparked. “Her argument in the woods speaks otherwise. It mimics the efforts of the showgoers.”
“It mimics their situation!” There was the flame. He smiled to himself. This was familiar. This wasn’t confusing.
The back and forth continued, both developing a thesis: you asserted that love was arbitrary and that’s what makes it special, and he argued that love was arbitrary and that’s what makes it fleeting. You were brought to a standstill when Elon charmed a local motel owner into letting everyone use the showers- only being let in after vowing that no one in your party was a “hippie-lunatic-drug-dealer.”
What would’ve been an afternoon to get to the beach turned into an evening, when unexpected downpour managed to back up the highways. It didn’t seem to bother Elon or Ray, as they found an indoor flea market to explore while they waited for the storm to pass. It wasn’t all bad- there were endless tchotchkes to look at and Christine had managed to haggle for some unexpectedly good donuts.
The car eventually pulled into the beach town at night, joining dozens of others in the parking lot of an ocean themed motel. It was close enough to the boardwalk that the neon signs reflected off the windows, shining in Egon’s blinking eyes. Ray looked on eagerly as you popped the trunk.
“You saw the size of that coaster, right?” he asked Peter.
“Sure did.”
“We’re going on it, right?”
“Sure are.”
“You guys coming?” He asked you and Egon, making sure he still had his wallet.
You looked around, noticing that your friend and her boyfriend disappeared, probably at the front desk. Then you noticed all the stuff left to bring in. “Don’t wait up,” you breathed out, letting the men race each other to the attractions.
Egon started to help you pull bags out, before you gasped, looking up at something over your shoulder and stopping him. “What?” he followed your gaze to the yellow-lit windows of the kitsch inn.
“They’re catching up on lost time,” you dismissed him, “let’s just-” you put everything down, shutting the door. There was a beat of quiet filled with the sounds of fun from the oceanside, before you turned to him, grinning at the absurdity of the situation. “We’re stuck out here.”
You lead him towards the boardwalk, hands in your pockets. “I don’t suppose you’re a fan of rides,” you assumed.
“I’m not. You can go ahead. I’ll just,” he pushed up his glasses, “wait.”
“No way.” Egon was confused as you threw a few glances around, before stealing over to the edge of the wooden boulevard. “Come on,” you clutched a woven rope.
There wasn’t much for him to do but follow, cringing at the feeling of sand under his shoes. You led him rather quickly, only stopping to get a better sense of direction. “Don’t you need a license to be on the beach?” Egon put out.
You halted at the bottom of a formation of large rocks. “It’s the beach,” you made your way up them like a staircase, “I shouldn’t need one.”
Egon sighed, prudently doing as you did when you waited for him at the top. They weren’t that high, just slippery from the tide as they formed what was natural and short pier. “This isn’t safe,” he warned, anxiously watching as you teetered to the end. “There are rules against this.”
“Just look,” you pointed upwards once he cagily caught up to you. The moon was finally visible, white beams bathing everything in a dim, pale light. It seemed so close from here. “Turn around,” you patted him on the shoulder.
Egon hesitantly agreed, only turning around when he felt your clothes hit his back and heard your footsteps running down the makeshift wharf. There was a hearty splash when he raced to the ledge, pupils dilated when you didn’t come back up. He chucked off his shirt, diving in after you.
Your head popped out above the foaming surface of the ocean, laughing madly as you wiped the water from his face. “I remembered I can’t swim,” you gasped, gleefully holding onto Egon’s shoulders in an attempt to stay afloat. He blinked away salt from his eyes when there was the sound of a whistle from down the beach, making him hold you closer to himself.
Egon regarded the way moonlight bounced off your smiling face, seawater lapping around where you held him. Poisonous.

Can I just vent for a minute guys? Like, I REALLY need to get this off my chest. Stay with me, okay? I know this sounds kinda bitchy, I just have to get this out.
I absolutely despise—DESPIZZZZE. DC putting Cap/Shazam related things in other comics and having him be a side/background character. It just…Yall, it GRINDS. My. Gears.
Like—the Trinity of Sin standalone issue. That one. Guys. It literally shows the entire council of wizards. It has the SEVEN. DEADLY. SINS. Say what you want about current canon, but the sins have been one of the only recurring points about Billy, Shazam, and the rock. Hell, half the issue happens in KHANDAQ.
Oh and ALSO, it’s literally Billy and his siblings’ job to capture and contain the sins. Main point of current lore. Smack dab in the movies and the comics and one of the consistencies for the rock that has stayed through TIME.
I get Diana. She’s a daughter of Zeus. But Pandora going to the rest of the JL? Who, yes, are importent heroes to us. But to magic as a whole they are inconsequential. Random people in random outfits with random powers who fight crime. The only person who would have an any sort of responsibility would be Fate, and wouldn’t ya know it, HES 👏 NOT 👏 THERE 👏 EITHER.
Again. It is Billy’s. Job. Why are you going to a RANDOM SUPERHERO TEAM—
And you’re telling me the Shazam kids had no idea the sins were out in the world? None at all?
And then there’s….Yall, why is it Superman who is almost always the one fighting Black Adam. Why? What do you GAIIIIN DC? What goes through your mind that says “hey, Cap and Adam have a longstanding rivalry that dates back pre dc. That has a millennia long reason for existing. Both have gone through trials with and against each other. Both are ultimate enemies/friends/frenemies. Both understand each other in some way.
So you know what WERE gonna do? You know what great idea we have? LETS. HAVE ADAM FIGHT THE RANDOM ALIEN HE HAD NO IDEA EXISTED UNTIL NOW AND JUST PUSH CAP ASIDE. Because, it really would look sooooo weird if Superman didn’t win the big, final battle, wouldn’t it? It would totally make more sense than, you know, two mythical beings empowered with godly power duking it out on a truly equal level. Two people, who have suffered similar heartache.”
At this point, let’s disregard all the champion duties Billy canonically has, because that is what DC just loves to do. You wanna take away that? Let’s take away the champion title! Let’s do it! Let’s ERASE CAPTAIN MARVEL FROM EXISTENCE LIKE DC JUST LOVES TO DO—
Ahem.
Sorry. Didn’t mean to get so heated. My bad. I’m gonna go and uh, read all the issues with scraps of Cap/Shazam content like the bottom feeder I am.
This is the reality of a Captain Marvel fan. Thank you for coming to my ted talk.

HIII!!! :3
I was wondering if you could do a HC of Megumi Fushiguro as our younger brother? GN!reader if possible!! I want you to have full freedom of writing it!
Thank you!!! 🫶🫶🫶
Megumi Fushiguro As Your Younger Brother!
Includes: Megumi, GN! Fushiguro!Reader
A/N: SORRY RHIS TOOK SO LONG. Gonna be honest, I forgot this was in my drafts, LOL. I hope you're still around!!
Backstory 🤍
You knew your father, but he gave you to the Zen'in Clan before Megumi was born. He wanted you to have a better life than he did.
You knew he had good intentions, so you didn't hold it against him.
You have a projection sorcery technique, as the rest of your family.
Despite what your father wanted, your life ended up like he'll.
You left a little after Megumi was born. You wanted to be there for him, because you knew what Toji was going to do.
You didn't blame your father, but you wanted Megumi to have a better life than you did.
When Toji married Tsumiki's mother, you ended up staying with them.
When your parents left without a trace, you were left to take care of them.
You were young, but you took care of your step sister and your younger brother. You were strong physically, but you didn't understand yourself mentally anymore because of this.
You grew up faster than them. You wanted them to have a better life.
When Megumi was in elementary school, that's when you and him met Satoru Gojo.
Now, he acts like a better father than Toji acted like.
Current 💙
You train with Megumi often, hence why he's quite strong.
You try your best to act like the best older sibling you can.
Megumi won't admit it, but he admires the hell out of you.
You, him, and Gojo sometimes have alone days where he spoils the hell out of you two.
You two fight more than anyone.
"What the hell did you just day to me, emo boy??" And rubbing his head aggressively until he apologizes.
Normal sibling banter.
He hates when you tease him, since he's younger. Especially when you do it around his friends.
You ADORE his dogs. He knows you do. When you're sad, he'll sometimes summon them to make you smile again.
As much as he acts like he hates you, you know deep down you both love each other very much.
You'd literally die for each other.
You and Gojo were definitely the ones who came up with the formations for whenever Megumi gets hit on.
You know basically everything about each other. Favorite foods, songs, etc. When one of you is having a bad day, expect almost all of those to be brought into the picture.
He hates to admit it, but he loves when you hug him. It makes him feel safe.
If you're antisocial, he is, too! You two just sit there in a comfortable, understanding silence.
If you're extroverted, you try to get him to do things with you and his friends!
You sometimes steal Gojo's card and take him shopping whenever he's down.
His shikigami LOVE you. Even Nue!
Which is funny because they reflect how he feels.
That's how you know he loves you.
But now, you don't know what to do.
You can't see him the same. Not after what happened.
But you want to help him. He's your brother.
You know how he feels deep inside, especially after killing yalls adoptive father.
Snap out of it, Y/n.
Save him.
Save him like he saved you.
Help him.
He needs it.
Push your feelings aside and help him.

i've absolutely gone mad over ur hal jordan dad au and i have one billion questions omg !!!.... why did hal hide the baby? what was bruce's reaction? what was the batfam's reaction? who's ashers bf ?!?!?! im obsessed!!!!!! 😭
HIHIHI TYSM FOR ASKINGG HEHE sooo basically Hal and Bruce already were on bad terms due to a big fight where they both said things they can’t take back so Hal (stubborn as ever) didn’t want to apologise at the time, when he got the baby he didn’t want to tell Bruce for another reason since he didn’t want his kid to become robin. Like genuinely Hal has probably heard or seen what the robins have been through and he can’t let the baby that was partially his go through that. Another reason was because Hal didn’t want Asher to be taken away by Bruce, I mean this was Hal overthinking it, he didn’t want to lose all his rights to Asher (Hal thinks if Bruce as a massive a-hole during this time bc of the fight)
When Bruce did find out, he was going through every emotion, happiness, confusion, hurt and a little bit of anger. Happiness since like yo that’s his kid that shares the same dna with his teenage crush Hal. Confusion because he’s wondering if he got Hal pregnant but that’s not scientifically possible (sorry guys no mpreg) and so he’s wondering how Asher was even made. Hurt and anger because Hal hid Asher away ofc.
I HAVE A COMIC FOR THE BATFAM REACTION BUT BASICALLY Richard is exasperated to have another sibling, confused but hey after he saw Asher’s cute baby face, he doesn’t mind having a baby brother since Jason and the rest were taken in when they were past toddler stage so he is kind of scared and excited of a baby brother. Jason is Asher’s favourite for your information, so when Asher clung to Jason the most, Jason found a new partner in crime… Tim is SO interested in how Asher was made (we get it Tim u wanna clone ur kryptonian…) Damian was SO amazed at having a new baby brother. (Damian is Asher’s second favourite) Cassandra was so amazed by a baby and the innocence Asher had. Duke was counting how many kids Bruce has now. Stephanie was so excited to teach baby Asher how to live the life.
Smirk… I’m not telling about Asher’s bf unless yall desperately wants to know 😝 HEHEHE THANKS FOR READING THIS RAMBLE, DONT BE SHY TO ASK MORE QUESTIONS I LOVEEE ANSWERING THEM

Ngl the Netflix Avatar: The Last Airbender show was kind of a mixed bag of great and iffy kinda like a delicious food but it’s missing something almost perfect, but still I loved the show so far.
What i didnt like:
*The gaang/ trio doing adventures alone by themselves
*The blended/ mixed episodes
*Pacing
*King Bumi’s new personality, his issues, and how his true identity was revealed very early.
*Sokka and Suki’s fast chemistry, (well I kinda like their love story a little, it was sweet, but i think their rushing it).
*Also Sokka kissing both Suki and Yue kinda feels like hes cheating on Suki, they already had a good time and now Yue?
*The Secret tunnel scene which only happened on book 2, ofc I was happy the first minute they showed it but this was Aang and Katara’s moment, they changed that into love between families or siblings but it’s about love between 2 couples Oma and Shu, wish they just did that on season 2.
*Aang didn’t talk to Hei bai or explain about the forest will grow back in time and just buried the seed.
*Kyoshi teaching Aang a lesson by traumatizing him with her merciless past, (thats not how you teach an innocent child).
*Zuko didn’t saved Zhao at the final episode, (in the original he saved him, because he still has that kindness and compassion in him just deeply hidden)
*Aang didn’t really learn how to waterbend, there was this scene were Aang and Katara were playing with water splashing each other I thought after that scene it was skipped to Aang finally progressing on his practice but he learned nothing at all, (well atleast he learned how to contact the spirit world with his past lives and loved ones). Probably at season 2 he masters it already but is skipped.
*About Katara’s necklace, Pakku didnt talk about that and the past.
*Gordon Cormier/Aang and Kiawentiio’s/ Katara’s acting skills.
What I really liked:
*Cgi, visual effects, the animals 10/10
*Martial arts
*Costumes
*New lessons
*Some of the backstories including the introduction.
*How they interpreted Koh the face stealer.
*Aang’s conversation with Zuko after getting captured by Zhao.
*Zuko’s backstory and the 41st division.
*June and Iroh
*Why Ozai can be evil, “yall remember Evil is made not born” he probably had a tough time when he was little, he just doesnt know what he’s doing is not discipline its abuse. Just like what Iroh said it’s in the fire nation’s bloodline on sometimes being harsh and world dominating.
*Azula’s obsession with perfection and her dad’s approval, I liked how hardworking she was until she reached her classic blue flame, she had to go through alot of pain too.
* Dallas Liu’s acting skills as Zuko is amazing, I could literally feel his emotional state, anger and rage.
*Yue’s spiritual abilities.
*Aang meeting Gyatso at the Spirit world broke me.
*Iroh’s backstory along with Zuko broke me.
Let’s just say atleast it’s better than that movie that never existed.
7/10 Imma say its perfectly balanced.
Also forgive me if my english is bad.
