with the official start of the zine, i thought it best to hash out the official rules for the writers and artists! guests will also be invited soon, so be prepared ;)

rules for writers

writers must submit 1-3 fics, and all creative freedom is given to them (aka write about anything, including ocs!)

each fic must be between 1000 - 3000 words (as there were issues with the compilation with larger word counts in the savanaclaw zine)

multichapter fics are not allowed, but interconnected oneshots are, and you can go wild with the themes!

collaborating with other writers (and artists) is encouraged!! <3 feel free to write about these boyos to your heart's content.

romantic content is okay as long as it remains gender-neutral, and more platonic content is encouraged.

if you write cooking fics, feel free to drop the recipe!

rules for artists

artists must submit 1-3 finished artworks, and all creative freedom is given to them!

the artwork must be of a5 size with 3mm of bleeding, and landscape art must be of a4 size with 3mm bleeding.

if you draw kalim/jamil cooking, feel free to drop the recipe as well!

collaborating with other writers (and artists) is encouraged!! <3 feel free to write about these boyos to your heart's content.

romantic content is okay as long as it remains gender-neutral, and more platonic content is encouraged.

traditional art is also accepted, but must be uploaded and sent at 300 dpi. comics are also completely fine- but it depends on space and time available.

Mini Zine Rules

Here are some simple rules for this zine that all contributors will have to follow when creating a piece for this zine.

1. SFW only!

Due to the nature of the villain topic, this zine will be PG-13.

What is allowed in PG-13 ratings is intense violence, brief strong language, and (as the minimum rating) drug use. Myself and another mod will be ensuring that ALL pieces for this zine follow this rule. While partial nudity is allowed at PG-13, we will not be allowing it in this zine due to the source material being for kids.

Transformers swear words are allowed, such as scrap, frag, glitch, and so on

2. Ship Implied

Any and all ships that contributors want to use MUST be able to be read as platonic.

In the future we will allow for ships, this zine however will not be allowing that

3. Who can contribute?

Anyone who is 14 years and older at time of applying is able to participate in this zine.

4. How long can Fics and Comics be?

Comics have a maximum page limit of 6 pages, and fics have a max word count of 1500 words.

5. No selling the zine

This zine is 100% free! You are allowed to sell your OWN WORK, but you cannot print and sell the full zine.

7. Characters allowed

Any character from the Aligned continuity is allowed in this zine, as long as they are interacting in some way with a character from Rescue Bots and Rescue Bots Academy.

However with this being the villain's zine we STRONGLY recommend trying to stick more with the villains.

Since my first post did so well, here’s some more fanart, this time more recent for @hotguycomiczine! This was an amazing project, and whilst reading I knew I really wanted to draw/ put my own spin on Pearl/Scour. They were really one of my favorite characters throughout the whole story.i don’t really remember what weapon she had though so I gave her a big scythe. Loved evil pearl and the zine so much.

We want submissions of your poetry! Maybe you've got some at the bottom of your collection you think would never see the light of day? Well we want 'em, anonymously, credited or otherwise! 

Bad poetry or mediocre poetry encouraged! Truly good poetry is the exception not the rule. Sometimes you just gotta express yourself!

Word count should be about 300 words give or take. If you go over by a line or two, that's okay!

Got a quick 2 or 3 paged story? Share it with us and we could add it to our Flash Story segment of the zine! Word count should be about 1000 give or take. Again, if you go over by a few words, that's okay, we'll find a way to fit it in!

Put your writing out there to be seen, and plug your credits if you want to be found!

We also accept any fanfiction blurbs you want to plug too! Just tell us where to find it and we'll put in if we like it!

We might even put in some recs of our own.

Finally, we are all about collage! If you got some sick work you want to share, we'd love to feature it! 

Otherwise we will be making plenty to fill the space!

OUR TERMS

Submissions can be sent in through PM - All Submissions must have content warnings if they apply (if none are provided we will add them ourselves, it just saves us work) - NO promotion of fascism, oppression, or tanky ideologies; We are punk, and anti-oppression is punk - NO AI generated work - YES you can share, print, and distribute any part of the zine but do not post it to any Meta product or to twitter

Our zines will be printed out and distributed in our little city on the edge of the water, but we also post full-colour versions on Newgrounds and Itch.io when we are done printing and scanning the final drafts. We make no profit nor sell our work.
