Q: Do you feel that Rose forgot about Spinel? if not, did she ever think of going back one day?

Rebecca Sugar: Well, so much of the show is about how—and this is something that I think was was really ultimately captured in the end credits song—when you don't think of yourself as someone with power, you know, Pink had so much less power than everyone that was around her. She didn't understand how much she mattered to other people. And that meant that she did things to them that that she didn't really think twice about because her importance to others was not—it didn't register to her. I think in feeling that she didn't matter, that radiated out to other people as well. Her relationship to Spinel, it is— Spinel was a sort of a toy to her. And when she saw an opportunity to her to to grow up and be, you know, what she thought of as a better person, the collateral of that was not registering to her. I will say that the version of Pink in the show is a softened version of what she was originally like, if you can believe it. So, you know, I think the sympathetic side of that and her own self depreciation, that was something that grew as we developed the character over time. And I see that influencing a lot of her actions. And in aspiring to be a better person than she felt like she was, that made her the person that she was, if that makes sense.

What is a zine?

New to zines? Check out https://zinebaby.carrd.co/ for some general information. For this project, a zine is a digital PDF that consist of art and fics.

Who can participate?

Anyone who applies during the application period. No previous experience.

What types of mediums are allowed?

Any medium (that is pdf compatible) is allowed as long as you can crop, edit, color-correct to match the zine guidelines and prepare your piece accordingly.

Contributor Expectations:

Adhere to the guidelines

English speaking: mandatory.

Discord attendance: mandatory.

Let a mod know you need to drop: required.

Final deadline: non-negotiable.

Do not publish your work before the zine is released.

Portfolio Requirements

No portfolio necessary.

Content Restrictions and Guidelines:

No AUs, Oc's, or Ovenbreak-only characters

Official Cookie Run Kingdom designs and costumes

Shipping is okay as long as it's PG-13, SFW

Comics, Poems, News Article-esque writing...etc is okay.

You can draw the cookies as humans

Please do not eat the cookies

Using the color palette:

We will be providing six specific colors for you to choose from.

They will be released after the sign-up period is over marking the beginning of the speed run

Your task will be to highlight at ONE of them in your piece. You will be able to use multiple colors if you wish to challenge yourself but you MUST choose one as your main color.

Artists: You only have to use one color. It does NOT have to be monochromatic. You can pair it with other colors.

Writers: How you intemperate and incorporate the color into your piece is up to you. It can do with the emotions the color reminds you of. The cookies or world that comes to mind. Any association kind of association is valid.
