the irony of the situation did not go unnoticed . the moon - haired daughter of munro was curious , something unlike her father who only saw one way to the world . the way of the english , hard - headed and unable to be swayed . thinking he knew so much better than magua , he who thought he was ABOVE magua in every way . and the one who , because of this thinking , had given magua these marks without even flinching .
while he hadn’t meant to slip his sash off so haphazardly in front of the girl , there was a part of him that wanted her to see the MONSTROSITY of the man she used to call father . and perhaps through that , a reason for his actions towards . maybe then she’d finally see why , after so many years .... his hatchet demanded to be stained red with his blood , to watch him die just as his children had so many moons ago . ‘ does the daughter of munro wish to MOCK magua just as the grey - hair did ? ’

CORA’S A CRUEL GIRL, and would be horrified to know it. alice isn’t of the mind to deem flesh as weak, nor blood spilled as a cheap source of pain. there are marks along the expanse of magua’s back that look as if someone attempted to carve a niche in the hollow of his spine. her stomach turns, but at the act as opposed to the result. he can make her ill in a myriad of other ways, she reassures herself.

alice always finds a way to flinch under his devastating stare. the way he looks at her sometimes—————————- it’s horrible. but a determined nature has emerged inside her since the day on the cliffs. her intent is clear, she only hopes he will let himself see it.
