alr who wants me to write a rosekiller fic thats canon compliant and long. i dont have the energy for 1st to 5th year (maybe a couple chapters to show the important stuff) but i would do 6th all the way until after goblet of fire!! it would be from barty's POV of course, and would have kinda... insane rosekiller? it would also have unrequited bartylus im thinking hmmm hm my brain is thinking. it would also have jegulus but end with jily because canon. it would also have reg's plotline of the horcrux, and also have pandora and barty after the war. panda trying to carry on the horcrux hunt. dorc's revenge era after marls dies. i would also want it to be very raw, like proper proper canon compliant. so like no comfort, no fluff (well, maybe some, but not overall), just literal insane love. and martyrdom and his father's abuse and unrequited love and morally bad characters and so much pain.

People who say that most of the Marauders fandom is made up, like it's a bad thing...you have another thing coming.

The whole point of our fandom is to separate us from the absolute BS of canon and JKR.

We are the ones who claimed the smallest part of Harry Potter and made it into something big and wonderful!

We are the ones who fixed plot-holes, improved representation and bought life to characters that were mentioned ONCE.

We made the most beautiful ship- Wolfstar along with Jily, Jegulus, Dorlene, Rosekiller and more!

We made a world where calling a non HP fan a muggle wasn't an insult.

We make the most elaborate pranks and have really good taste in music.

We are the ones that made the Golden Era seem like a spin off for the Marauders Era.

Our fandom knows pain and loss of a whole new level.

So yeah, what if half of it is made up? Not everything has to be canon for one to enjoy it. The Marauders are a testament to the creative minds and passion of all the HP lovers. It is art even if it's inspired by another piece of art. The Marauders fandom is a place untouched by jkr and we all know that if she ever decided to write anything about them it would just not live upto so many beautifully done fics, she really missed an opportunity with this. Therefore, it's safe and diverse which the author herself failed to achieve. Moreover, it's something that allowed people to reclaim their beloved fandom even when jkr ruined it for many. This fandom is OURS. Yes, we did not create the characters or the world but we made it BETTER.

Better ships, better representation, better world, better music, better characters and better everything!

I do not want to seem like I hate the original work, I don't and that's precisely the point. I love it, it's my childhood and the reason for my love for reading but at the same time, being mature and recognising the problems in the original series is essential no matter just how much it might break your heart. That's why I am thankful for The Marauders fandom, they gave me doorway to not abandon my love for Hogwarts and magic. In fact, I only fell deeper in love.

Sirius always liked his little brother’s best friend. It filled him with pride watching Evan from the stands. He was standing on the edge of the park with the rest of the skaters. Sirius noticed that he kept on stealing glances at the South Korean competitor. Smiling to himself, Sirius knew what it was like to have a crush on someone at the Olympics. It was a canon event in every Olympian’s life. 

Evan’s lustful looks caused Sirius’ eyes to wander absentmindedly to the small group of physios and medics nearby the platform. Unconsciously he searched for sandy blonde curls and a tall frame. Sirius had never seen that physio before his match against the Italian. He found it so difficult to keep his mind on the game and slipped up more than once. 

His trainer was perplexed by his sudden lack of concentration. He didn’t know the source of distraction was tan, freckled skin and warm brown eyes. The physio was the most beautiful man that Sirius had ever seen and Sirius was enamoured by him.

“Who are you searching for? Evan’s hair is like a beacon, you can’t miss him,” Regulus remarked, trying to follow Sirius’ line of sight. Sirius sighed. “You’re just going to be a classic younger sibling if I tell you,” Sirius replied. 

“Yes and?” Regulus gave him a pointed look. 

“Well there’s this physio,” Sirius started.

Regulus groaned immediately. “Can you not keep your hands off the medical team? Last time it was Mary and now this one.”

“Hey! Mary and I are just friends. But anyway this man is a god and I have not seen him before. I doubt I’m going to find him again. He’s not a regular for the fencers,” Sirius retorted.

“Ugh I know a thing or two about gods,” Regulus said, a faraway look in his eyes.

“Oh Reggie! Another diver? When will you learn. And you have the audacity to scold me?” Sirius laughed.

Regulus buried his face in his hands. “What am I going to do? I didn’t even get his name and I only think I heard that he’s Mexican from the announcer.”

“We have such grand luck with men, don’t we?” Sirius chuckled.

“We will find them, even if we have to fucking announce it at the dining hall,” Regulus promised.

“God I hope you’re right.”

i love the dynamic you give to rosekiller. its like, theyre such individuals..but theyre so unified. barty is so average and normal on the outside. he flirts and talks all casual and doesnt have a single worry..and then theres evan. little freak is digging holes in the backyard and planting animal bones he found in the woods. he kinda just stares at you and nobody really knows what his voice sounds like (he would be mistaken as a girl if he spoke, thats how feminine his voice is. and he uses such feminine speech patterns).

i love them because barty brings out the normal in evan, and evan brings out the weird in barty. barty is teaching evan how to socialize in the daytime while evan is teaching barty (mumbling incoherently) how to while poking at his teeth in the night.

oh i feel like standing up and cheering.. YES!! you get it!!! you've touched on something i really enjoy, which is the difference in perceived normal-ness (😭) between them? to me, they're both equally freakish INSIDE, but they socialize differently...

my barty is still a transgressive deviant bastard, but i think it's a crucial part of canon that the wizengamot is so shocked at the accusation against him. he breaks more rules than anyone, but he also knows how to Play Ball when it matters. + i think there's also a lot of social stratification within Slytherin... regulus is the de-facto Heir of House Black, and even though he's kind of cold and unsociable he would still have a decent amount of slytherin clout. barty is top of their class, he's reggie's best friend, he's charming, he probably sleeps around... they're both basically doing fine

meanwhile the rosier twins are these haunted tubercular oddities who were homeschooled up until 3rd year, barely speak to anyone else, playing with bones (sidenote: androgynous effete evan my beloved). ESSENTIALLY: evan 1000% gets the "loony lovegood" treatment from the other slytherins!!!! evan is, of course, too busy dissecting flobberworm carcasses to even Notice or Care

i'm just saying that I think it would be entertaining for the rest of the school to watch Barty Crouch Jr™️, handsome and generally well-liked slytherin, just fall ASS OVER TEAKETTLE for the weirdest fucking creature on hogwarts grounds 😭... barty is tagging at evan's heels, carrying his books, obediently doting after him, all while evan barely registers his presence. it's just MESMERIZING to watch that dynamic play out super publicly in class.

Guys I’m actually so close to breaking and writing a full fledged Marauders era fic. Like I’m talking 1st year to 1981

I have so many ideas about it, I’ll put a list of things under the cut but it’ll be your classic Wolfstar, Dorlene, and Rosekiller, while also being weird and doing a HEALTHY Jegulus with endgame Jily. There’s just a lot of things about the Marauders era that is so inconsistent that I feel like I physically need to write it down COHERENTLY in a way that makes a modicum of sense to me.

Things it’ll probably include

Scottish and Desi James; Welsh Lily, Remus, and Severus; French/English Blacks; IRISH Peter; SCOTTISH Marlene; Dutch Dorcas; French Mary; British Rosiers; and British Barty (ive missed some but those’ll be my main characters I focus on)

Jegulus, personally I think Jegulus is a very important thing for James’ growth and for Regulus’ to distance himself from his family’s ideals but I also don’t think it could ever last. Probably would be a 6th year arc and they break up after Regulus gets the Mark beginning of 7th

Endgame Jily, because their story is one of my favorites and if I do make it a canon compliment then I would need to write it with natural progression, also I just love Jily

I’m on the fence about making it a canon compliment because I choose to be HAPPY, but I don’t need to make that decision now and so I won’t (also I like the idea that Peter is good, screw me)

Aroace Peter, my little boy loves his friends and doesn’t understand why he doesn’t love like they do. A dating spree probably in 5th year but he just cannot figure out how to do the romance thing

No sex, sorry guys we’re keeping this M rated. I’m asexual and do not feel comfortable writing that in the slightest, it would all be fade to black

Asexual Lily, to whoever HCed that, can I marry you? I love ace Lily and I think it just adds an arc to her story that is normally extremely sexualized. My girl will punch you in the face if you look even a tiny bit lower than her eyes.

How much character growth can I fit into James Potter? ALL OF IT. He was a DICK, that is non negotiable, he was not a dick eventually (ahem he had to grow up after the prank)

The Prank will be essential to everyone’s character.

Sirius is at his lowest in 5th year because his parents are trying to get him to marry Pandora and he is rebelling so hard and they are punishing him like a madman and he’s hurt and in pain and lashes out and it’s a mess and it breaks that summer and he runs away. (Then things get better)

Remus’s arc will probably be very similar to what it normally is, I think he’ll have Hope and Lyall, at least for a while and his home life won’t be the worst. If that’ll change I’m not quite sure.

Remus is SMALL and then he gets REALLY BIG, I’m talking 5’1- 5’10 over one summer (3rd year to 4th year) then he keeps growing. 6’3 by the end of it.

James isn’t short, he has a normal growth though, lands steady at 6’

Sirius and Peter are short kings: Sirius-5’8, Peter-5’6

Marlene is probably the most Gryfindor person on the planet, and Dorcas is a Slytherin who HATES her peers

Dorcas is a halfblood with a single Muggle father (her mother left when she was 5) They both have the best dreads on the earth and you can’t tell me otherwise

Marylily is kinda a thing?? In the early years but it fades and they agree they’re better friends.

Pandora and Evan are twins, their family are pureblood fucks

Pandora and Regulus are best friends, they would both destroy the world for each other

Remus starts to like Sirius in 3rd year, he dates someone (probably Marlene because her and Sirius and just gender swapped copies of one another but they both hate it and Marlene is the first person who knows about Remus’ crush, Remus is the first person to know about Marlene's when that becomes a thing 5th year)

Sirius starts to like Remus in 4th year but doesn’t realize it at first and when he does dates around in complete denial until he runs tf away from his family. Peter, the king he is, is surprisingly the first one to figure it out in 5th year.

James is the most hardcore Wolfstar shipper when he finds out about both of them, and he has to be painfully silent about it until they get their shit together

They fully get together at the end of 6th year. How? I'll figure it out.

The Skittles are less present the first half, but they would probably be more and more there, especially as Reg and Sirius' relationship strains

Regulus' relationship with Orion and Walburga is that of a child who has watched their older sibling be abused for rebellion and is fucking terrified of that happening to him. He hates them, but he has to please them to save his own skin.

Also, all the Skittles are in slytherin for being ambitious, cunning, and calculating. Not because they are evil.

Not all slytherins are pure blood fucks who toss around slurs and unforgivable curses while chanting "praise the dark lord", some of them are good/some of them don't deserve treatment as if they were. Understanding this is essential to James' character development.

Not Snape though, he is exactly what it says on the surface. Sure he loves a muggle born but he also is obsessed with her, manipulated her, called her slurs, and hurt the people she loved. He has no such qualms with being as horrible as possible to anyone else. Not saying James and Sirius were good, but Snape wasn't a fuckin' hero either. "Always." BITCH THAT"S CREEPY NOT ROMANTIC.

How long does it take Lily to realize Snape is the worst person on the planet earth? TOO LONG. He calls her mudblood and that is the last straw.

Also fuck JKR's timeline, I don't even understand how the prank could happen before Snape's Worst Memory or after 5th year so the cannon fuckery is going to happen mainly in 5th year

Marlene is extremely important to me. She has the thickest Scottish accent and she thrives off of it. She does not take SHIT. She listens to rock exclusively once she figures out electric guitar makes brain go happy. She and Sirius have a very interesting relationship I would be so excited to explore.

Nothing will be glossed over. I see a lot of vagueness about the Cruciatus curse, and just, no. People need to see in detail what shapes the characters and why they are the way they are, especially Regulus and Sirius. I'll do CWs before every chapter, but I'm not holding back. It'll be graphic, it'll be skin crawling, but maybe that's the point. Remus goes through torture every month, that needs to be known. Sirius and Regulus are broken by their parents, that needs to be known. Mary was assaulted by blood purists, that needs to be known. Things won't be pretty, they never have been with the Marauders. But maybe that's the most beautiful thing about them. Things aren't pretty, but they find a way to love despite that. (James Potter tends to have a large hand in that, too)

This was my shpeal. I have so many ideas and so many ways I could go with this that I'm actually so stressed over it. Um... if anyone has advice on how to get actually started because that's the part tripping me up I would love it. I don't know if I can bring anything particularly special about their story to the table but I would love to see where my story goes. My biggest fear about this is starting it and never being able to finish it. I've been told I'm a pretty good writer, I might post more of my unfinished stuff just to gauge if people actually want to read it, but I hope I can do them justice.

The name though? I have a few Ideas and all of them would lead to a different way that I wrote the story.

First of all, there are a lot of tropes I don't really like and that I don't take part of. I, for one, like my Lupin awkward and scrawny, not like a cool casanova. I struggle to see the beauty of making Regulus all soft and dovy, as his personality from the start has been based on the fact that he's cold, hurt and uptight. I have never read Y/N as I feel conflicted with the arrangement. WITH THAT SAID, I feel no bloody need to point out, complain or talk poorly about those who do enjoy these things.

I'm a big jily fan. I was 13 (isch??) when I entered the fandom and back then “jegulus” wasn’t a thing. (I've grown to enjoy the "jegulus ship" though, and some of my favorite fics are jegulus-centered.)

I get people being like:

and I also get people who hold onto jily like a life jacket.

BUT for the love of the gods, that doesn't mean people need to be such c*nts.

barty and evan hate sirius. sirius hates them back. the order of the phoenix has an unspoken rule that the three of them are not allowed in a room together.

barty is italian and luna & ev both know italian for him, so they speak italian with each other a lot.

muggle au rosekiller raising luna!! they hold a special place in my heart. barty and evan run an italian restaurant together and luna is a waitress there. (so is harry.)

yk how snape treats harry like shit bc he hated james? yeah, barty and evan treat harry well bc regulus loved james. (also bc they don't take out their anger on children but mostly bc being mean to someone who reminds them of regulus would hurt too much.)

I really don't think any of my opinions are problematic? Idk, I guess I'll let the people be the judge of that. I want to preface that these are how I feel personally and I would never try to enforce my opinions on others. Ship who you want to ship, love who you want to love. If you disagree with any of my opinions then that's fine but please don't try and convince me to "see your reasoning", these are opinions I'm pretty set on.

I don't particularly multiship, not because I have no sense of fun but because I genuinely can't understand how people ship Barty with Sirius or Narcissa with Lily or Evan with James etc. It makes so sense and no amount of reasoning will ever convince me that anybody other than Evan can stand Barty to a degree that they want to fuck him. He's so annoying and I mean that with all the love in the world as an Evan kin. I think Sirius needs Remus to mellow him out. Lily and Narcissa is just a no from me. Period.

I think sometimes the fandom forgets that relationships can be platonic. Friends exist, not every character needs to fuck all of their best friends because they understand each other so deeply. Yes, they have great chemistry...as friends. Platonically. Do you want to fuck your best friend? .......actually you're on tumblr and a marauders fan so who knows

People are so desperate in this fandom for others to talk about the girls more but then when people do post about them there is like no interaction. From experience, the boys get more hits, more kudos, more notes etc. I write about Rosekiller expecting not much attention, I'm not in it to get popular otherwise I would stick to Jegulus and Wolfstar rather than my precious murder husbands. But whenever I post about the girls the comments are dryyyyy and it's not fun. I love getting comments and replies so I can interact with others and talk about headcanons. It feels like as soon as I post about the girls people forget that they were encouraging more of that content in the first place.

Fanon and canon are blurring and not in a fun way. There are certain headcanons that people take from fanon or even from specific popular fics and start stretching canon to fit the fanon and then get angry when people don't stick to it. Saying a character is canonically a certain way because of implications in the canon can be really harmful.

I don't particularly care for OCs in fics. I read these stories for the characters I like and if an OC has like a massive chunk of a chapter on their own or even whole chapters or whole fics I will likely skip or even DNF because that's just not what I'm here for. Like I don't care.

If a character isn't attractive in this fandom, people don't care. Just because someone doesn't have rippling abs and perfect skin, it doesn't mean you can write them off as being bad. People can be hot and fat, ugly and fat, ugly and skinny, ugly and a good or interesting person!!! As a plus size person, I have spent my whole life looking at media portrayals saying that I am not worth attention until I am skinny, only then can I be attractive, and this fandom can be just as guilty sometimes (I'm looking at you people who make Snape hot to justify liking him, and making Peter have no personality besides being fat).

People are way to eager to interact with content they don't like to tell them they don't like it. Look up what an algorithm is, hun, I'm begging you. (this isn't controversial unless you are one of those people who does that)

My opinion about Harry Potter Ships (2/2)

Wolfstar (Sirius Black/Remus Lupin): Beautiful. Just beautiful. They're THE Marauders Era couple. 😆

Remadora (Remus Lupin/Nymphadora Tonks): I have to see the development in a canon couple to like it- and in the movie they were suddenly like "We're a couple now :D". So no, not my ship. 😕

Jilly (James Potter/Lily Evans): Why not. After all, they both did bad things. "But Severus also did bad things" Yeah, he did. But James bullying him was also bad. So was Lily laughing when his "best friend" was being sexually assaulted.

Snilly (Severus Snape/Lily Evans): Before their bond broke they were good friends so I'm okay with it. Although sometimes I think they both deserve someone else.

Sirily (Sirius Black/Lily Evans): I didn't know the existence of this ship until now- but you know- it's nice. I like it.

Regulily (Regulus Black/Lily Evans): Wouldn't they also be called something like Starflower? Even the name of the ship is nice.

Remily (Remus Lupin/Lily Evans): I will only say the ship name ✨Moonflower✨ is beautiful as well as the ship.

Rosekiller (Barty Crouch Jr./Evan Rosier): Fics made me ship them 😅

Bartylus (Barty Crouch Jr./Regulus Black): The fics also made me ship them ngl

Moonwater (Remus Lupin/Regulus Black): I prefer Sirius with Remus/Severus/James and Regulus with Barty but they're okay 🌸

Jegulus (James Potter/Regulus Black): I know it's popular, but I'm neutral about it. I don't hate it, neither I love it. I like some fics of them tho.

Jeverus (James Potter/Severus Snape): I LOVE IT! But just because I read fics where James changes before bullying gets too far and Severus turns into a Death Eater. And fics with them having a healthy relationship. If they were toxic in the fics I wouldn't like it.

Snirius (Sirius Black/Severus Snape): They're kinda like Jeverus and they are Slytherin/Gryffindor. I will only say that.

Reverus (Regulus Black/Severus Snape): Ooooh they're cute 💖

Snucius (Lucius Malfoy/Severus Snape): Two Slytherins? One of them is a brunette and the other is blond? I LOVE IT.

The hustle bustle of the train-station began even as early as 3:40 am...and you knew it as you shut the trunk of your car, luckily you got your driver's lisence...hard to believe, but yes...

As you and James walked up the stairs to the station and stood in front of the platforms 9 and 10. You and James waited, talking normally to not attract too much attention to you two by muggles. Soon, Sirius finally joined you in excitement..he was absolutely buzzing with excitement like James was...

Finally, you held James's hand and ran through the wall in between platform 9 and 10, you closed your eyes, always getting a bit worried, but always excited as you ran and James faster and faster and then through the wall.. You let out a breath and looked back at the arch way saying "Platform 9 and 3/4" as James led you away, Sirius came behind you both.

You all stood at the station talking to each other for a few hours, you have no idea why you all decided to come so early... as the morning started to creep on to you, thank god it was getting brighter now..

"...Wow, it's cold this morning, huh?" James said grinning as he shivered a bit and wrapped an arm around your waist and pulled you closer to kiss your lips, you hummed as you giggled, "..I told you to wear an inner, did you wear one?" you looked up at the timing board and saw the train you all were waiting for was in like 20 minutes... you also started to get excited, you had got that letter from Dumbledore a few months ago and though you didn't trust that man a lot, he had good intentions at times...

Finally waiting with James and Sirius literally bouncing around you, a red engine train finally stopped in-front of you two. It let out some steam before the doors opened on it's own and you stayed there waiting for the people to get out, while James and Sirius scanned the area to look for a familiar haired werewolf...

Finally you spotted him, the same messy, fluffy-brown hair with a scar on his face in baggy clothing...you were absolutely beaming with happiness, and you were about to scream out his name, when you stopped...

Remus seemed to comfort a boy your age..his cheeks splotchy with tears, adorable freckles dotting his cheeks and you knew exactly why Dumbledore gave you that letter...

You walked over to them, but unfortunately Sirius was faster as he absolutely tackled Remus and smashed his lips against Remus's, the boy seemed to know who Sirius. When James hugged him, the boy seemed confused at James and you knew he didn't know who James was.

You walked to the boy and stood in-front of him, rubbing your knuckles on his cheeks, before taking you a napkin and handing it to him, the boy took with a cheeky smile and wiped his face..His adorable freckles, soft ginger hair and brown eyes made you smile and remind you of a certain someone you knew..

You comforted the boy, while James and Sirius took comfort in Remus like Remus took comfort in the two. You turned to find Sirius and James basically on top of Remus and emus trying his hardest not to punch the two in their throats... You smirked at the scene, similar to your hogwarts years... you missed him too...how couldn't you?...He was basically your brother..

"...Hello, where is my hug??" You asked Remus with a grin, who threw the two away and hugged you tightly, like you did back, you both giggling leaving your husbands with dramatic pouts.. You both giggled before pulling away, as you pulled the boy into a hug, he needed one after all especially after all that crying, if there is one thing that can cure a few things, it's a hug...

"...You know you look like my friend, Harry Potter...and that man is an ABSOLUTE copy of the bloke..." the boy said pointing at James, clinging to Remus's foot, making you giggle.

As you pulled away from the hug, the boy looked a bit confused as Remus continued to catch up with his supposed husband and James, while you only smiled and fixed his hair a bit, before saying

"..copy of him? You mean, he looks like us!" You say giggling as you patted his back before smiling softly and holding his hand in yours..He felt calm with you and holding your hands felt nice... You spoke up, looking at your three old and now a new loved one,

"..AND THIS IS WHY YOU DON'T PLAY CATCH WITH A BLUDGER UNDERWATER!" You yelled pulling Fred and James by their collar and pushing them into some kitchen chairs. Remus and Sirius apologetically hopped up and sat on the kitchen counter... You angrily picked up your shirt and wet it before wiping Fred's bloody head where he had a gash.

You had no idea, why Moony, Ginger, Padfoot and Prongs decided it would be a great idea to go to the Pearl Lake and dunk inside and let a bludger go free in the water...and it was no better that neither Remus nor Lily nor Mary tried to stop them...

You finished patching up Fred before pulling out your wand and putting some spell on it to make it hurt less before angrily moving to James who only looked down, "..I'm sorry, Love...I promise..." he said in a soft tone making you sigh..you could never be upset with him for too long..

"..I'm glad you know where you went wrong, but I'm not letting you heal yourself up quickly, you will let it heal on it's own.." you say handing him an ice pack for his head where he hit himself in the frantic attempt to get the bludger back...

You began wiping his head as well, somehow both Fred and James got hurt in the same spot...all Sirius got was a spell from a scared Rosilabeth who thought the bludger was heading towards her,

Finally done with patching people up, you picked up as many bottles of soda, of firewhiskey, emerald wine and other drinks...While Regulus, Rosilabeth pocketed as many snacks as you all could, before heading out to the drawing room...

Sat there, Mary and Lily cuddling under the same blanket while talking...or rather arguing with Barty and Evan over something...most likely who cheated looking at the numerous uno cards sitting between them...

Marlene and Dorcas while cheering them on, making you sigh as Regulus sat down beside the couple on the numerous mattresses you all laid out in the living room, taking on of the larger blankets as you and Rosilabeth set out all the food and drinks, before Regulus pulls Rosilabeth by her waist under the blanket as you only giggled at the two..You leaned against one of the couches, James draping one of the blankets on you as you cuddled upto him...

As you start the TV and the movie starts, Fred walks in with a smile as he carries the marauder's map and says "Mischief Managed" before placing it on the shelves in the drawing room, as he finds where to sit, not finding anywhere...You open your arm and one side of the blanket for Fred, as he happily slips in beside you, as he lays his head on your shoulder, watching the movie..Him and James and other asking questions in between as you all spent time with each other...

".....Mum..."

- okay so, I think they both kinda fell for each other around the same time, but it took Barty way longer to realize what he was feeling was love, so ig you could say Evan fell first but Barty fell harder? Except they fell together

- Barty smokes like a chimney, that man will have a cigarette for breakfast and see nothing wrong with it. Evan doesn’t, he can’t stand the taste of it, but he’ll smoke weed on occasion (he’s Pandora’s twin after all). This however means Barty must keep his mouth minty fresh or he will be denied kisses

- Evan collects trinkets, many of them Barty gave to him bc he thought of him when he saw them. This ranges from cool rocks to animal skulls and a dead bugs, and a really cool flower he saw on the road, and a rat king carcass that Evan had the time of his life dissecting

- Barty is a genius, that much is known, but he hides that sometimes so people keep their guards down around him, but not with Evan. With Evan he can be as freakishly smart and quick witted as he wants and he loves how quickly they both fall into deep dives of random knowledges—each researching their own thing ofc, parallel play style

- in fact parallel play is a big thing for them. They just love doing things and being near each other as they do it

- Evan was the first person Barty opened up to about his issues with his father and the pressure he put on him. How he wanted Barty to be the perfect successor to a lineage he wanted nothing to do with because that wasn’t him, how his father saw him as an echo of himself, another limb, an extension of what he couldn’t be and how Barty hated that, but how he desperately wanted to please him nonetheless. Evan didn’t get it, his family issues were far different from Barty’s, but he did get it at the same time. He got that Barty needed a place to be who he was and figure himself out on his own, and Evan wanted to be that place to him

- Evan took a little longer but he also opened up about his family life, how his parents had fallen off the wagon and left the entire house and the responsibilities as heirs to him and Pandora, and how they were cruel and selfish and unbecoming to both of them, but especially her, and Evan hated it. Barty offered to kill them, and Evan fell a little bit more in love

- Evan is obsessed with having little parts of Barty—a vile of his blood, a tooth, locks of his hair. He loves having physical mementos of the boy he loves. Barty is the same way and proudly display his necklace with Evan’s blood vile dangling from it

- they practice dueling together and come up with their own curses and spells

- Barty lets Evan test potions and experiments on him because he loves seeing how he gets when he’s in the zone, and he trusts him

- I got more than one hc for what their first time was like, so here’s one: in the middle of the potions lab after Evan successfully brewed a new invention, infused with his and Barty’s blood—the ultimate binding potion, that would link them to one another forever

- their first kiss was after Barty got a week’s detention for cursing some kid who said Evan was weird and probably a psycho. 27k and why was it so heavy oml like i didn't sign up for this sadness. ok so reggie is DEAD but before that he and James were like lovers and drug buddies but also lacked healthy communication. james is like bye imma get clean without u, the literal love of my life. the whole thing was so sad because it would be like one bit of 'oh and they were in love and making music' and then another bit of 'james was mourning so hard he couldnt get out of bed'. it was lowkey magical to read except for how hes dead.

I'm in shock in an "im unsettled and creeped out" way. i don't even know why because ive read serial killer jegulus fics before and it was all peachy, but maybe this one was so creepy because we were in the dark, and the killing isn't unrealistic and romanticised. James was so smitten with regulus too I'm crying i was actually convinced that reggie wasn't the killer. i need soft regulus fluff to cope with this. to erase the image of reggie being a psychopath. omg Sirius after finding out the truth.. poor boy was like catatonic. 30k it's basically about them being angels and demons and working together to idk stop the world from ending. i liked the tone of the fic in that everyone was like set in their ways and was like wtf at everyone else but also i wish it was longer and there was more about each person's like representation like Sirius being the angel of justice. also it was so funny regulus the angel of diligence and James the demon of lust.

36k so james gets possessed by a ??demon called mercy and reg is an exorcist... so its very obvious what drew me into this. anyway james lives at regs house while hes figuring out what the fuck is wrong with him and they just ??? fall in love. ok slow burn was not really burning at all more like a ticking bomb but the horror was cute. also i found it at night and then read it all at like 8-9am in the morning before getting out of bed so i cant remember it but it was well written and the demon was lowkey cute too he was just out for drama which i can relate
