Stop scrolling forever to find sapphic ships!!

just because when you first click on a tag for a f/f ship all the first ones are m/m doesn't mean you have to scroll forever to find them!!

you can better sort things on ao3!! I've been seeing people complain about this a lot, and i just wanted to give a bit of advice.

here is some of the things you can do to help, in a list from my personal most to least favorite:

(note: all of this only works if you've clicked the tag, not from just using the search bar)

go to the sidebar, go to the exclude section, and select everything except f/f under categories. Then go to the include section and select f/f. That way you will only get fics in the f/f category.

2. go to the search within results option at the very bottom of the sidebar and type in 'summary:' then put the character's name that you want fics about. This will only show you fics with that character's name in the summary. It's not perfect (sometimes summaries don't include character names) but it means that if someone tags a f/f fic with background m/m you'll still be able to find it.

3. look under a specific tag. For example for dorlene, there is a Marlene McKinnon/Dorcas Meadowes-centric tag you can use. You can either type this into the Other tags to include section, or just searching under that tag. Either way, using this you will only get fics with that tag. This means you'll have much fewer options, but it's effective. I always try and use this tag for my own dorlene fics.

when looking for other ships which might not be as popular, you might need to use a character tag, such as the 'Lily Evans Potter-centric' instead.

4. finally, use 'otp: true' on the search within results section. this will give you fics with ONLY that one pairing and nothing else. It's best for oneshots but not longer fics with more side pairings.
