(hey i managed to finish this just in time for valentine!) i’ve been listening to some harry/draco audiofics and was inspired to paint a little something as thanks to the hp fandom, since i can’t actually write and all. Thank you guys for your work!

draco really does spend all of book 2 suffering from a severe case of 'can't shut up about harry potter' disease. the first time we see him lucius is on the brink of a public breakdown because he cannot cope with hearing one more harry potter fact. and then when ron and harry disguise themselves as draco's friends and break into the slytherin common room draco instantly launches into a monologue about harry potter - entirely unprompted. not to mention that dobby clearly knows a lot about harry, including who his friends are and how much he cares about them, and he definitely didn't learn that from lucius. draco's housemates must have suffered so much that year.

also absolutely wild that jkr wrote this in the same book where she was like 'yeah ginny spent all summer talking about harry because she fancies him' just. wow.

Patroni are about protection. He doesn't know what it would have been if he had managed to cast one before 7th year, maybe a Horntail, or a blasted ferret.

He didn't even know that he could cast one. Cried the first time he did.

Cried harder the first time he made it corporeal and the antlered head came closer, like it was trying to sniff at him. He still says he can't cast a corporeal and no one questions it, most people are surprised that he can cast even the misty one.

Patroni are about protection, and Draco Malfoy would rather not have it thrown at his face who makes him feel the safest.

Now, if Harry Potter spoke with Draco, that’d be considered charity.  “You should reach out,” his father-in-law tells him. “Explain your side.” “Imagine how much that would help our standing,” his wife begs.  Draco will become an employee before he asks Harry Potter for help.

fanfic writers are so fucking awesome man. they write novel length fics that are sometimes even better than some published bestselling books written by professional writers. like fanfic writers are professional writers to me and they gift us their masterpieces for free. they give us something we can look forward to after a long day. something from which we can seek comfort when life is hard. something that can be our own little getaway. in a world of capitalism, despite everything, they give us all of these for free. like holy fuck. shout out to every fanfic writer. A process is recursive when it defines or contains itself; e.g., the Fibonacci sequence, which determines the next number as the sum of the previous two. But not all recursive processes are mathematical. Recursion can happen in a temporal context when, for instance, the powerful magical force that is true love drags you back in time so it can create itself, endangering the fate of the Wizarding World—not to mention the very fabric of space and time—along the way.

Having an opportunity to rebind something I bound early on in my journey is one of my favourite things. Which is why I was so thrilled when luciddream_bindings agreed to swap a copy of her signature Sleeves Will Go Ragged bind for a copy of Recursion.

It's so cool to see how far I've come in my craft - and to have the opportunity to make different design updates and upgrades to further elevate the bind.

Now, the bind is far from perfect (see number 5 above). I'm really struggling with my text blocks lately. They don't want to lay flat - and I can never seem to case them nicely anymore. Still, I'm pretty proud of this one, because it really does showcase how I've improved - and more importantly how much I've continued to challenge myself.
